Bio:


James Richard T. Thorne was born to a wealthy family in Britain. At the age of twenty (1709), he got married to the French woman whom he loved, and left for France. Remaining there for five years, learning the French language and the traditions of the French people. During his fifth year in France, a bomb was set off, destroying a good part of the street in which he lived in; Le Champs Élysées. This caused him and his lover to flee as quick as possible to a different country, once learning that James Thorne was the one targeted by the explosive.


Originally aiming for Italy, as Britain would be too risky, the two eventually lost their way and ended up in Spain. Under a new name, they managed to thrive there and even make a fortune for nine years, until they once again got into trouble, learning that the explosive that nearly killed the couple was set off by a Spanish assassin attempting to take revenge on James, who had apparently killed his brother in a conflict near the former's home, along with the rest of the French for killing his people.


During a specific and heated conflict started by Thorne himself, avenging the lives of all those who died in the explosion at the Champs Élysées, Thorne's wife was shot right under the heart. Two days after and he was on the run, an outcast, announced a pirate by officials.

But a pirate indeed he became, and it took three years of serving aboard Ape of The Sea to get enough money (through piracy of course, that is) to buy a ship for himself, which he titled The Sea Serpent. He gathered a crew and sailed upon the ship as its captain for eleven years to come.

Why His Crew Marooned Him: Well, on one particular journey, The Sea Serpent passed through a specific cove that was inhabited by Sirens. After steering the ship away, and of course, beating or locking away some of his crew, and sailing away from the beautiful singing and attractive bodies and visions of the Sirens and slaying many before returning to the ship with plunder, the crew of The Serpent turned on him. They mutinied, and they overpowered him, sending him to the island, attempting to find the cove once more. For this have they been called the Blind Crew. They also didn't strip him from his weapons; they're not very bright..


Other Information:


He's most likely been on the island the longest; he's been on the island for three years and knows most of it like the back of his hand, for he has not dared explore a few parts of it. He also befriended a ball python on the island, providing shelter through winter along with food sometimes. He also lives in a small wooden cabin on the beach on the island, having not found a way of escape yet.

Back Story:


Laura was born in the West Blue to a woman named Maria Young and Shane McClure. Shane was a notorious pirate who sailed and plundered the seas. When he meet Maria he fell instantly in love. She sailed with his crew for many years until one day Maria appeared pregnant. Unready to care for a child Shane kicked Maria off the ship. She went to her old town on the sea of the West Blue to have her child. Sadly, when Laura was born just a short week later Maria died of an illness. From then on her Uncle Jock began caring for her.


Her Uncle however was a greedy man. He raised Laura into a life of thievery, teaching her how to swipe peoples wallets and how to grab things without anyone noticing. Laura never liked tricking people, but she thought it was the only way to survive. Together the two traveled from town to town on the west blue, making a living on whoever was gullible enough to get tricked.


At the age of eleven things changed. It was a regular job, Jock had seen a new guy come into town and thought it would be a perfect chance to get some cash. Jock was to distract him while Laura slipped by and take the money. Everything was going as planned, Laura had grabbed the wallet and was about to bolt. As she walked away the man grabbed her. He reached into her pocket revealing the wallet. Laura was mesmerized not knowing someone could see through her trickery. As the man took her away she yelled for her Uncle, but he walked away leaving her to her fate alone.


Laura was terrified would she be taken to the Marines or would he just punish her himself. The man was defiantly stronger than her and was no fool. He took her inside a small apartment building and told her to sit down. He walked into another room and brought back a piece of cake. She refused to eat it thinking he might have drugged it. He smiles at her cleverness. He tells her how smart and quick she is, but she still has much to learn. She knows he right and her Uncle had showed her everything he knew. The man introduced himself as Derek and talked to her about how she could use her skills for good use instead of robbing people. That day it was decided that Derek would take her on as an apprentice.


Who would've guessed he was a famous pirate of the seas. She was taken aboard his ship and cared for. The crew was nice to her for being one of the most notorious pirates around. She spent the next fivers training with Derek in swords play quickly learning to use one sword. She trained hard each day with Derek becoming faster and stronger. The crew adores her as well. She was there light in the darkness. But one man did not approve. He thought a crew should be scary, unforgiving, this crew was a disgrace to pirates.


One day out of no where the ship was attacked by two enemy ships. They fought hard but they couldn't win. The two pirate ships killed some of the crew off and then divide the rest up to work with each other. Laura was taken way with the Snake Charmer Pirates away from Derek and the crew she grown to love.

Laura wasn't on the ship with the crew very long. Four months she traveled with the crew doing evil and dark things she didn't want to do. One day she over heard a secret plan she wasn't suppose to her and got caught. They had beat her and had locked her away. After a month the decided to kick her off the ship leaving her for dead.

Laura was terrified would she be taken to the Marines or would he just punish her himself. The man was defiantly stronger than her and was no fool. He took her inside a small apartment building and told her to sit down. He walked into another room and brought back a piece of cake. She refused to eat it thinking he might have drugged it. He smiles at her cleverness. He tells her how smart and quick she is, but she still has much to learn. She knows he right and her Uncle had showed her everything he knew. The man introduced himself as Derek and talked to her about how she could use her skills for good use instead of robbing people. That day it was decided that Derek would take her on as an apprentice.


Who would've guessed he was a famous pirate of the seas. She was taken aboard his ship and cared for. The crew was nice to her for being one of the most notorious pirates around. She spent the next fivers training with Derek in swords play quickly learning to use one sword. She trained hard each day with Derek becoming faster and stronger. The crew adores her as well. She was there light in the darkness. But one man did not approve. He thought a crew should be scary, unforgiving, this crew was a disgrace to pirates.


One day out of no where the ship was attacked by two enemy ships. They fought hard but they couldn't win. The two pirate ships killed some of the crew off and then divide the rest up to work with each other. Laura was taken way with the Snake Charmer Pirates away from Derek and the crew she grown to love.

Laura wasn't on the ship with the crew very long. Four months she traveled with the crew doing evil and dark things she didn't want to do. One day she over heard a secret plan she wasn't suppose to her and got caught. They had beat her and had locked her away. After a month the decided to kick her off the ship leaving her for dead.

Personality: Rugged and old, he is the epitome of a pirate. Starting out as a cabin boy when he was nine, he rose up from experience and his great ability to weave a tall tale. He tends to get overjoyed and loud when celebrating or when food, women and booze are in the vicinity. The sign of a real Scottish man. He is not afraid to throw down and uses his body mass to indtimidate and render enemies incapable.

Aye! Hm... Something tells me that you would make a very fine Quartermaster indeed, miss, though you've already said so yourself. While you would be excellent at the other duties, your confidence and experience would best suit the role of the Quartermaster.
