Cynthia grew up in an upper-middle class family on the nice side of Doveport. She was never deprived of anything and lived most of her childhood in complete bliss. She lived free from any family drama that went on behind the scenes. Her mother and father tried to keep Cynthia sheltered for the longest time, in-fact it wasn't until 4th grade when she found out that Lyla was her half-sister. It didn't affect the siblings relationship, it was just new information.

Compared to Lilith, Cindy was more of the academically inclined sibling and pretty social in grade and middle school. She won class president in 6th grade and regularly brought home awards from dance, school clubs, being on the honors roll, etc. Totally opposite from Lyla who spent most of her time in the music room. Middle school started the rift in their relationship that completely crumbled in high school.

Cynthia remained pretty oblivious to the tensions between her dad and Lyla during that time period. She didn't realize anything serious was going on in her older sisters life until a few years later, and Cindy feels extremely guilty for that. During their later years, it was revealed to Cindy by Lyla that her birth-dad was a miserable drunk and it kind of made her depressed, but that was all.

When high school hit, cliques set in very quickly, her home life started to become more intense between her dad and Lyla, and it freaked Cynthia out. Reality finally settled in for her, from family to friends exposing her to all of the above. Plus, her father had affair rumors sprouting across the media which took a toll on her mom, but she refused to divorce. She just took up excessive drinking like her ex-husband (Lyla's dad).

Cindy naturally dealt with all of this by diving into her education and enrolling in more dance classes after school to keep busy, she hung out with her few close friends a lot outside of her home and eventually joined student council for Doveport high where she helps set up events, charities, etc. Cynthia hasn't felt comfortable with the idea of running for class President while in high school.

This previous year has been pretty depressing for Cindy, and it only got worse when Lyla decided to move back in with her birth-dad after brief stay in a psych hospital and refused to return her calls. Cindy understood why her sister would want to move back there full time, but it left a sour taste in her mouth. Lyla was the one she confided in more than anyone else, and to completely ignore her and avoid her in the school hallways... Ouch.
And to top it all off, she completely fucked up the couple longterm friendships she had left in June. ​

Lilith had a tough childhood. Her mom and dad divorced about a year after her birth and it turned a once charismatic 20-something year old into a depressed drunk with a beer-belly. Lyla lived back and forth from her moms, who quickly married a successful politician in New Jersey and in a sketchy trailer park community with her birth-dad. Lyla had a very hard time fitting in anywhere, not even in that trailer park. On the week days Lyla lived in a lovely beach house and on the weekends, she spent it at the trailer park. She was able to develop a couple friendships there, but not much. It was even harder to befriend kids who lived on the right side of Doveport.

For most of grade school and middle, Lyla remained pretty lonely due to being lost between two worlds. She used music as a coping mechanism. Lilith discovered all kinds of genres, but fell in love with rock & roll - all decades. From that music, she taught herself the guitar and spent her free time composing songs. Not that they were any good at first, but as she grew older her music developed alongside her.

When high school rolled around, Lyla was able to throw herself into the social scene. She wanted to reinvent herself, no longer wanting to be that shy girl she once was. She joined clubs and got herself out there. It felt good to have a social life, plus she was able to get out of the house more often and stay the hell away from her step-dad.

Besides music, partying became a way to cope for Lilith. Whether she was at her moms or birth-dads, it was a good excuse to get out of the home. Lyla couldn't stand hanging around her step-dad, he never treated her as an actual member of the family, despite being a half-sister to Cindy. She didn't enjoy being with her "recovering" alcoholic father either.

When Lilith was actually at her moms and step-dads, she was constantly looked down upon and compared to Cindy (mainly by her step-dad). Lilith and Cindys mom was gone at this point, mentally. This was post-affair, drinking 24/7 and spending most of her time in her wing of the household.

BACKSTORY ↠ born to the quarterback and the head cheerleader, prom king and queen, casper has always felt his life was planned out for him from the beginning. his childhood was a happy one, with his father's high-paid job and every waking moment spent trailing after kurt, his older brother of four years. although kurt was much bigger than him, always beating him in fights or getting picked first for team games played with neighbours, casper felt no resentment towards his brother. in fact, he idolised him.
when kurt started highschool, he quickly began to follow in his father's footsteps, landing a coveted spot on the school's football team. it was at kurt's first game that casper, then aged about twelve, decided exactly what he wanted to be in highschool.
not a footballer as his father had hoped, but a cheerleader. he was fascinated by their strength and agility, and their uncanny ability to capture an entire crowd's attention. he leaned into his mother's embrace as she congratulated him on his decision, and then began to carefully critique each member of the squad.
it was only after casper turned thirteen that he realised his mother was not the sugary person she appeared to be. she began to poison his mind with hate and superiority, claiming to be coaching him for later life. not only did his mother teach him how to do a back handspring and a cartwheel, she taught him how to systematically destroy any rival who stood in his way.
that being said, casper's heart didn't truly harden until his freshman year. after his brother kurt died in a car accident during the summer, the grief put pressure on his parents' marriage to the point that his father skipped town and never came back. with nobody else to divide her attention amongst, casper's mother focused solely on him, using stories of his success and tales of his gossip to take her back to her glory days.
casper joined the cheersquad in freshman year and has slowly worked his way up the social pyramid to become one of the most simultaneously loved and hated members of the student body. he knows about his reputation and plays into it, frequently quoting famous 'mean girls'-- a current favourite of his is the classic "fuck me gently with a chainsaw". along with his few actual friends, casper has ruined more school years than mono through his generally abrasive personality and devillishly creative rumours.

BACKSTORY ↠ with her father dying when she was a toddler, vivi grew up in a single parent household. because vivienne's mother worked full time as a doctor, her grandmother helped around the house and with the children-- vivi and her four older siblings. growing up in such an accomplished family was hard for vivi, especially as she began to grow up and realise that subjects like science and mathematics just didn't make sense to her. medicine was the career almost everyone in her family had pursued for decades, and she wasn't cut out for it. it was a tough pill to swallow.
throughout her childhood, vivi's grandmother had often sat her in front of the television with a musical on to keep her occupied, but it wasn't until she was eleven and actually saw some live theatre that she realised her passion for the arts. she immediately became involved in amateur dramatics, landing the role of villager #3 in a pantomime production of cinderella.
unexpectedly, vivi's family fully supported her decision to abandon the usual adler career path and opt for music instead, but that didn't mean they could relate to her. deep down, vivi always feels that they think she's wasting her time, which leads her to be incredibly critical of herself: she has to be the absolute best, because failure would just prove she's let her family down for no reason. her struggle for perfection is also why she keeps to herself, never parties, and rarely meets with friends-- now the last child living at home, she strives to be the model daughter and not give her mother any reason to stress. the only problem is, she never has time to have fun for herself anymore.

Biography
x Ellie was born to Henry and Clare Thomas. They were high school sweethearts who moved to Park Place, New Jersey after they graduated college. Following college, they got married and Clare opened her own flower shop. Henry entered into medical school. About halfway through medical school, twins, Calvin and Natalie were born. Henry graduated medical school and began his residency as an emergency room physician. Five years after the twins were born, and towards the end of Henry's residency, Ellie was born. The family was complete.

Ellie has been coming to Doveport since she was about four years old when her parents purchased their beach house. She would spend summers and school breaks, even in the winter, at the house growing up. She, however, lived in the northern part of the state, about a forty minute drive from New York City, for the rest of the year. Doveport was an escape for her and her family. Life was normal. Cal and Natalie went off to college. Cal was studying biomedical engineering in Houston and Nat was studying finance in San Diego. Ellie was doing well and earning good grades in high school when everything shattered about a year and a half ago.

Ellie had come home from school one day to find her mother dead. The doctors said it was a brain aneurysm and it was instant. However, that didn't make Ellie feel any less guilty or traumatized. She could no longer stand being in the living room, where she found her mother. Instead, she either spent all of her time in her room or avoiding the house in general for as much of the day as she could. She soon found herself in a downward spiral. Her grades started slipping, her anxiety became a problem, and she soon became anxious about her family member's health.

With the lack of a second income and the fact that Ellie had so many issues in the house, her father decided to sell the house and that they were going to move to their beach house full time. He hoped the change in scenery and the positive memories associated with the beach house would help Ellie. However, she isn't as hopeful as he is. She is starting over in a new school as a junior. She had recently started partying more and staying out late. This is not healthy behavior, but hasn't quite become a problem yet. Though, she is toeing the line. She was close to her mom and is struggling to deal with what had happened and moving on top of that has not helped. She just wants to get through the next two years and out of high school.

» BIOGRAPHY
Violet was born in Dovenport and has lived there all of her life. Her family is fairly well off but neither of her parents were ever really there for her. Her mother was always cold and had high expectations for her and her father was always working. Her father was a seemingly nice man, but when Violet was 12 she found out that he was cheating on her mother and he left town without so much as a second glance. Although she doesn't feel bad for her mother she still resents her father for leaving. She always wanted to leave Dovenport and was angry with her father when he left and didn't take her with him.

As a child Violet was actually quite a friendly person. She got along with the other kids and had a keen sense of adventure. As she got a bit older she realized her distaste for the town. When her father left it got a bit worse, her mother was now constantly telling Violet what a horrible faliure she was, but she didn't completely withdraw herself until a couple years later, when her father got married. She went to his wedding and he didn't give her more than a small greeting, it was like he wanted to forget she existed. From that point forward she lost her faith in people. Freshman year, she cut ties with any friendships she had, she closed herself off, she didn't want anything connecting her to this town.

Throughout high school she has avoided people as much as possible. She doesn't have any real friends and doesn't want to. She started writing for the school newspaper and found that she loves writing. She stopped caring about what her mother and all other people say about her, but that doesn't stop her mother from flinging harsh words at her. At school, she stands back and observes people, silently judging them. Although she now hates most of her classmates, there are those few she tolerates more than others. She does well in her classes, mostly so she can eventually get some sort of scholarship to go to a far away collage.

To put it simply, Leon Colbert lived a very lonely childhood. His father is the head of an incredibly influential global enterprise and his mother is a well-known Parisian socialite, the face of a designer brand. As you can imagine, their hectic work lives took them away from home for long periods of time, leaving the raising of their son in the hands of the staff that looked after their country manor in Cambridge, England. Leon’s relationship with his parents was rather strained and distant – particularly with his father – and as an only child, he spent most of his days in solitude, or in the company of the teachers who homeschooled him.

As he grew older, becoming a budding teenager, his behaviour and attitude also changed. At the age of eleven, Leon was sent away to a private boarding school and his education took a sharp nosedive. He no longer engaged himself in lessons, instead choosing to purposefully skive and run away from the school grounds. He was actively rebelling, striking out despite the disciplinary measures in a desperate attempt to get his parents to pay attention to him. He figured that even negative attention was better than none. However, his actions were all in vain as they only incurred his father’s terrifying fury. After that, Leon definitely toned down his wayward rampage, but their relationship was permanently soured.

Leon was fourteen when he knew without a shadow of a doubt that he was gay. There was no other explanation for the way he pulled back from a hollow kiss with a girl, devoid of any feeling except the tingling of repulsion and the irresistible urge to wipe his mouth. There was no other explanation for his vivid dreams that were very much unlike his friends’. There was no other explanation for the fluttering butterflies in his stomach when a Year 10 boy had leaned over him, helping him with his homework.

The realisation came with no shame (and why would there be?) so over the Christmas holidays, Leon came out to his parents. He was prepared for some initial weariness... but the verbal, wrath-scorned tirade that came from his father was not something he had seen coming. He had not correctly judged how deep his father’s conservative ideals and views ran, and the reaction completely shattered any confidence that he once had. Leon’s mother stepped in when his father threatened to disown him, but the damage was done.

Relief was not something that Leon was used to feeling, but that was what he felt when he heard that his aunt who lived in the US (from his mother’s side) agreed to take him in for a while as the family atmosphere continued to deteriorate. Without looking back or regretting his decision, Leon flew over to Doveport, New Jersey joining late to the end middle school. There, he had an opportunity to reinvent himself – and that’s exactly what he did. Leon opened himself up more, garnering many friends with his outgoing and approachable disposition. His popularity only continued to rise as he went through his high school years, climbing the social ladder with ease.

When puberty hit him like a truck, Leon became a nefarious charmer, a bit of a flirt and heartthrob. However, this is where the nature of his deceit comes into play as he purposefully kept his sexuality vague, a well-kept secret. He’s often surrounded by numerous girls vying for his attention, and a part of him feels guilty for somewhat leading them on, but his fear of rejection chokes him in a vice-like grip. He’s genuinely terrified about destroying everything that he’s built up over the past few years if he came out again to his peers.

Despite the constant internal crisis, Leon lives a comfortable upper-class life with his loving Aunt Marianne, an affluent businesswoman who owns a thriving advertising business which really took off after a messy divorce. He’s now a senior at Dove High and he wonders what this year will have in store for him.

Backstory:
August is the child every parent wants. Healthy from the day he was born, he grew up receiving love from all around him. He was smart, talented and had an amazing personality. There wasn't a single person who didn't like him. He would've had an amazing life but his mother unfortunately died from cancer when he was young and so he doesn't remember much about her and he misses her tremendously.

His father worked hard to provide for his son and get him everything he could in life for example, fashionable clothes, skin care cosmetics and even dance lessons when he turned 6. Eventually, they even moved in with his father's parents to save money and give August people to come home to as his father would often work late into the early hours of the morning.

As August grew up, he was happy but aware. He knew he had a lucky life and was privileged so he tried his best to give back. He tried his hardest and got great results in school, did after school dance classes and practiced harder than all the others, helped out his grandparents wherever he could and always told his father how much he loved him. He wanted to be a ray of light in other people's lives. However others looked at him differently. Children at middle school were judgemental. They thought of him as a try-hard, a nerd and his happiness intimidated them. They would insult him and try to harm him but he was bigger than them. He couldn't let negativity affect his life.

High school rolled around and he knew he had to get high grades, maintain relationships with those around him and attend his dance classes whilst also trying new things. He wanted to be a person doing lots of stuff. Sure, it was tiring but worth it. He was happy and he wanted to continue to bring joy to others, perhaps be valedictorian, graduate and dance for the rest of his life. He knew who he was and couldn't let anything drag him back. Now he spends his time learning dances, uploading them to his secret blog and non-secret YouTube page and talking about his sexuality on his blog.

Floyd and his sister Frankie's parents split up at a young age. Both parents were poor. Frankie and Floyd were best friends, until their mom married a filthy rich douchebag business man. Frankie let it go but Floyd was so angry with his mom that he decided to permanently live with his dad. Frankie was headed for Harvard, especially now with her stepdad's money, but Floyd's grades started dropping a lot when he stopped caring about school and started partying and selling drugs after moving in with his dad.

By the time of his birth on March 25, both of Floyd's parents had already separated. Although they had never been married, Patricia Marquez and Darryl Siplin had been high school sweethearts, and were both only twenty-two at the time of Floyd and his twin sister Frankie's birth.

Floyd's upbringing began somewhat roughly. Neither of his parents had graduated college, and they struggled to come up with the money to support both children. Patricia's entire family lived in Puerto Rico and offered no support, and most of Darryl's family was estranged, dead, or offered no help. On top of money problems, Floyd and his sister also struggled with the constant transporting between their parents' homes. Darryl supported them by working at an auto repair shop that had once been owned by a family friend, while Patricia, a very dependent and selfish woman, remained jobless.

Floyd and Frankie grew up almost inseparable; most people said they were attached at the hip. The two shared a bond unlike anything most had seen before, in part because their twins but also because of their sheer compatibility as friends. They shared all of their deepest secrets, and there was nothing between them that could tear them apart - or so it seemed.

When the twins were 15 years old, Patricia Marquez met a powerful yet universally despised local politician named Andrew Tipton. At the time that their relationship began, Andrew Tipton's wife filed for a divorce after discovering she had been cheated on -- especially with a poor woman such as Patricia. However, Patricia and Andrew remained together through the divorce and were engaged after only two months after meeting.

Neither Frankie nor Floyd approved of the developments with Andrew Tipton, as the majority of citizens of the state saw him as a greedy, power-hungry manipulator (which wasn't far from the truth). However, while Frankie digressed and continued to focus on school and her path to success, Floyd struck back against the engagement. Several weeks before the wedding, when he was only sixteen, Floyd made the decision to leave his mother, who had sole custody of the twins, to live with their father. Frankie stayed with her mother, and the conflict drove a massive wedge between the former best friends and siblings.

Floyd, who was once a shining star of a student, dropped all ambition in favor of the party scene. The time he didn't spend partying or going out with different girls was spent working at the auto repair store, which his father helped get him a job at. Eventually, the boy began dealing drugs, mostly prescription pills and marijuana, to make some extra cash on the side. Before he knew it, he was the primary plug of the school and the majority of the town as well. His rebellious behavior only drove his sister further away, and eventually they lost all contact to one another. During the weekends that Frankie spent with her father, Floyd made sure that he wasn't around to see her.

Unlike her attained reputation, Aya is not at all imposing; in fact, she's rather meek & unassuming. At a miniscule four foot eight inches & weighing a mere one hundred & seventeen pounds, the mere thought of being menacing or a infamous school tyrant is not all apparent. her goodly brown doe eyes & small button nose seem to further disprove this theory, making her look much more like a high school freshman than a high school junior. this bambi-esque demeanor of Aya's is contrasted by the girl's sense of style, which is best described as retro, comfortable, classic, much like her pixie-esque charm. [div class=scroll] Aya’s outside is, again, a great contrast from her reputation. Her child-esque size makes almost every one who doesn’t know her personally think that she’s either a underclassmen or a popular freshman who’s charm can earn her place in the top caste of high school. Disregarding her appearance, even her mindful etiquette when it comes to speaking and even her small habits she makes in her everyday life does not allude to this complete opposite that seems to appear once the moon appears at night & everyone is asleep. Of course, this isn’t to say that she’s not all genial person. In fact, Aya's most recognizable trait is her impartial & benevolent nature.
Despite a person's appearance attitude or reputation with others, Aya's not a person to judge & can make friends out of anyone, including those seem the most unsavory. This friendly & unjudging nature makes first impressions of Aya mostly positive, if not all positive. Unlike her angelic persona of last year, she feels like friendly devil, complete with a tempting appearance and unique charm that only she emits & knows how to use. Her once laughable gullibility is replaced with a mischievousness that is aware of all around her and a smirk she can’t seem to wipe off her face that teases you with allure. The awkward and frumpy wholesomeness is instead a bohemian gracefulness that exudes lively & smooth talking. As a result, Aya is described as pixie-like, affable and whimsical but puckish and mysterious. Her pixie-esque persona is paired with a liberated and colorful mind where she walks to the beat of her own drum. She doesn’t change for those to like her and let others perverse her morals, giving her a sense honesty that some find refreshing.
In the theme of honesty, the girl is honest to a fault, very much unlike her past self. Able to speak everything in her mind, she’s not afraid of the consequences that come with being truthful to herself and about what she thinks. This outspokenness about gets her into trouble almost constantly However, her unbiased & astute opinions can often bring clarity to a situation which can make her seem wise & mature.
Speaking of maturity, Aya's intellectuality make this girl seems wise beyond her years. She's the type of person to be able absorb information quickly & able to piece puzzles or conflicts, in spite of their difficulty. In addition, the girl's way of thinking & creating is quite innovative & out-of-the-box, making her able to form a multitude of different solutions & deductions, as well as being able to create intricate pieces of art & literature. While these savvy traits are used for a slew of things, the girl uses it for two things: for school and to be able to smooth talk herself into having others think she's right. In consequence, she's the star of debates & is able to dunce others with facts & evidence. The girl's cleverness makes her seem eloquent in even the most seedy and impossible of situations.
However, under Aya’s jovial and seemingly discerning exterior and interior, the girl’s feelings are not to be played with. And when her virtues are swayed in a particular way, she’s not one to be clement. Surprisingly, Aya is a emotionally driven person & believes in the “eye for an eye” & “tooth for a tooth” system of justice. In effect, she can make a complete three-sixty and become fueled to make harsh and rash decisions & become inclement to those around her, especially those who she feels have done her wrong her. In these heat of the moment actions, she will often lose good judgement and only realize after her tirade and lashing out that she needs to calm down or is in the wrong. This explosiveness is often followed by a solemn apology and a forgiving Aya who wants to be forgiven — unless the anger does not subside. Generally, Aya keeps her anger bottled up until she can’t anymore but on occasion, this bottling up of emotions can fester and become gangrenous for so long that it doesn’t easily subside with a little tantrum or crying session. On occasion, Aya sees this as a opportunity to become ”even” or to pursue revenge or a chance to cut off & ghost the person completely. Nevertheless, these types of grudges never become permanent and are often chased down with a feelings of guilt from Aya, whether she wants to admit it or not.
While this “dark side” is described as a sham & is talked about like an old legend, Aya is not one you want to see irrational and vexed. In the end, this dual natured girl is one big force of nature that you can either love or hate, judge her to be black or white, choose her as a friend or foe. However, everything is in the gray and not as clean cut as her.

A. "After high school, I definitely want to go back and visit Hawaii. A lot of my family is in Honolulu and my aunt has a textile & prints business where I can hone my illustrating abilities & learn more about fashion. I also want to get into New York University so I can pursue a degree in design & fashion." Before high school ends, Aya wants to pursue a movie-esque high school life, which includes having at least one true blue friend & a relationship with someone. Her school life is almost ending, but she still has a small bit of hope for this rather far-fetched dream. At the moment, Aya’s number one goal is to find her birth family due to curiosity about her roots. Deeply, Aya wants to find her birth mother is hopes that she'll still remember her & to fulfill the burning need to find herself in the midst of her teenage mess.

Q. How about any fears?
A. "Uh...Not really. I do fear student debt though! *laughs* " Aya has a big fear of failure that fuels her feelings of not being good enough. For a long time, she has craved acceptance of who she is & the strive to something more than just a girl with a surfboard shop. In effect, she's achieved a lot in school to get out of the 9-to-5 routine. But with the car accident that cost her a squeaky clean rep & a chance to go Ivy League, Aya has been questioning what it really means to be successful & is afraid to strive like she did before in fear she'll stumble again. Another one of her biggest fears is to regret her life, especially as a mature woman. She feels that if someone regrets their life, they have malice because they never repented their sins and forgave themselves. In fact, she equates regret to suicide because of it's correlation with hating the life they live.

Q. What are some hobbies you have?
A. "I love to surf. During the warm months & even sometimes in the winter, you can find her surfing & looking at the sun set in the horizon. I also really like to sew. I taught myself in middle school & have been crafting around with the fabrics I buy from thrift shops & the textiles my aunt sends from time to time." Surfing is ultimately one of Aya's favorite hobbies to partake in. She's been surfing since she was a little girl in Honolulu & with the proximity of Doveport to the coast, the girl is often at the beach practicing moves or simply catching a wave. Additionally, the girl has a true passion for design and fashion. The girl loves to experiment & create with sewing machines & different colors, textures & pieces. You can often see her wear upcycled jeans, a home made blouse and even some retro accessories here and there. Recently, Aya has picked up roller skating and you can often see her at the roller skating rink or on skating around the town.

[div class=scroll] Aya wasn't brought into the most pleasant of circumstances; her conception was the product of a teenage couple who didn't know enough about safe sex. On top of that, Aya was born into lower class area in California to a family of Honduran fruit pickers who didn't have the means to take care of another. As a result, she was put up for adoption immediately after she was born, leaving her with only one family heirloom: her name, Magdalena, a name given to her by her birth mother & grandmother. Aya turned about 5 months old, the girl was adopted by Kanani Aiuchi & Theodore Calix, a couple in Hawaii who decided to adopt. Many of Aya's earliest memories are of beaches and her family's surfboard business in Hawaii, where she remembers seeing the emerald waters glimmer in the sunshine with her two older brothers & being taught how to surf with her parents in her hometown of Honolulu. She lived in Honolulu for 7 years until her parents moved to New Jersey & relocated their surfboard shop up north, where Aya and her brothers, Taika and Ren, could not only get a better education but the surfboard shop could gain more leverage due to the propensity of surfers in the area. As a result, the family relocated to the town of Doveport, where the Calix family located to and settled at.
Aya’s first few months in Doveport were rather displeasing than what she imagined it would be. The first three months, Aya was put into private school so she could attend more challenging classes & make the young girl have less experiences being bullied; however, it had the opposite effect. The girl’s strong hawaiian accent was ridiculed and poked at & the girl’s peculiarities, that varied from her parents to her continuous knowledge were seen as “alien” & “weird.” To make matters worse, she was a ingenious little girl who excelled in almost every subject in the school. Unfortunately, that’s what made Aya the target of bullying at school. As a result, she didn’t want attend her school anymore & subsequently transferred to public school. At first, the same treatment began to pester young Aya and the distasteful feelings of school came back. But then, Cynthia came along. Cynthia took a liking to little Aya & stood up for her when other decided to tease her. Cynthia was the one who offered to play with her when no other kids wanted to. The ongoing kindness that Cynthia displayed caused Aya’s fondness for the dear girl, which the caused the two little girls to become attached by the hip. The girls seemed to share everything with each other & were never seen without each other. Stuck to each other like glue, Aya & Cynthia seemed inseparable. Of course, there would still be a bullies here and there who would taunt Aya, but it seemed to be so insignificant after middle school—right? Fast forward to high school, Aya & Cynthia still seemed as if they could never be without each other with the addition of August & Victor, Aya seemed content— then came the arrival of the Oliver to her eyes. In Aya’s mind, he seemed so charming & jovial unlike the others who bullied her throughout her school career. His smile seemed to illuminate & uplift everyone. In contrast, Aya was the complete opposite; the girl was described as juvenile-looking, frumpy and socially awkward towards almost everyone she met. Her naïve personality combined with a encyclopedic knowledge the girl had, it was rather clear that the high school caste system did not favor her. In fact, it caused her to lower her status.
On one ominous day, it seemed that a note had slipped into Aya’s locker. Apparently, Oliver had actually wanted to talk to her because he liked her. Because Aya was so green, she had actually believed the note despite the handwriting being different. However, her gullibility let her believe the note was truth and led her on with false hopes. The ditzy girl confessed and returned the note to Oliver.

Unfortunately, it was too good to be true.

When Aya found out the truth, the girl was crushed and mortified to learn that it was all an elaborate prank and diss at her simple mindedness. The cruel joke cost the girl a large chunk of her pride and lowered her place in the high school standing. Sure, her friends comforted her in only a way a friend could, but that stinging and overripe embarrassment was incessant & painful. However, the girl hid her tears over laughter & the façade of a joke. Months passed after the event & the gossip soon died down, but something in Aya was little bit different. It seemed she was a little less ingenuous & simple minded than her former self. Aya deluded the bullying as a joke & convinced herself that the prank was a lesson she needed to learn and therefore strengthening herself emotionally and mentally. However, by the next year rolled around, Aya had been played like a fiddle again.
Cue in Mr. Jesse, Aya’s chemistry teacher who had been left with a bad impression of Aya after a consequence of Aya [redacted until further notice]. In correlation with the conflict, Mr. Jesse never really took a liking to this student and often ignored the girl. Of course, Aya took offense with his actions & projected the same snide treatment onto him, much to his distaste. The teacher & student seemed to have a thick choking air of contempt & dislike for each other, occasionally followed with Aya being scolded for an eye roll or sigh. This behavior continued for about 1 semester and a half with no negative consequences.

Or at least that was the case before the end of the semester.

Around the time of finals, it was revealed the answers to the final were spread all around digitally the school, much to Mr. Jesse’s discontent. In effect, the school investigated this cheating dilemma which brought Aya to the hot seat. Why? Because Aya was the only student to get a perfect score before the answers were directly spread. Because Aya was caught in the wrong place and wrong time combined with Mr. Jesse’s terrible judge of character, the girl was suspended and framed for the transgression and was suspended for a few days at home, with the addition of summer school for “cheating” and thus failing the exam.
After the sentencing, Aya became vexed with the faculty accusing her of the crime. She hadn’t done anything so why was she being punished? “Was I punished for studying & trying to excel? Was I punished for simply being unlikeable? What’s the point of being honest if I’m punished & ignored for it?” were thoughts that swirled around Aya’s head until the devil on her shoulder suggested something devious. If she was being framed for something she didn’t do, then maybe she should do something devious for once. And so a plan was hatched. Aya was going to steal Mr. Jesse’s car.

The girl’s idea was spread to Cynthia disguised as a junior prank for Mr. Jesse, which was soon revealed to have ulterior motives. At first, Cynthia was apprehensive to participate with the plan but with her plans of letting loose, she soon agreed, which prompted the start of the plan. While Aya stole the keys and Cynthia kept Mr. Jesse distracted, their plan was executed smoothly with little pot holes. Soon, the girls drove the car out of the parking lot and speeded throughout the town, cutting people off and letting the wind blow through the hair & even made it a town over. Of course, all that discourtesy and novice driving would bring misfortune to the girls. Aya turned up the radio and began to become distracted from the road which turned fun and singing to crashing straight into a rail and fumbling into a pond. Soon, the realization of what she had done struck into Aya’s mind causing Aya and Cynthia to panic. Aya had stole and crashed a car and they were going to jail for it. They called August, hoping the male would save them out of the mess. Unfortunately, it was just a busy. Subsequently after the call, police sirens were overheard and in a frenzy, Cynthia ran away from the scene of the crime and left Aya to stay. Aya, who was still frozen in shock, was soon seen and apprehended by the town’s police.
The report of stolen car matched the description of the car driven by Aya and she soon held in custody over suspicion of stealing the car. Mr. Jesse arrived at the station, furious over what happened but glad the culprit was found. While the Aya was found at the scene red handed, the charges were dropped after Mr. Jesse spoke with the administration at the school and the police station. However, the girl was sent to a substitute school for the whole summer. When the news reached her Kanani and Theodore, the couple became furious. The girl had not only destroyed property but was being sent to a substitute school for the summer. As a result, Aya was punished for the rest of the summer, restrained from contact to the outside and her friends. That summer, the once awkward and naïve girl that inhibited Aya’s truth was gone. Now, a blunt & aged version of the girl seemed to possess Aya. She cut her her frizzy and mangled hair. She took off the glasses that once slipped off her nose constantly. She lost the frumpy sweaters and childish clothes that hid the girl’s frame. She changed. Of course, she still wanted her appalling past to walk behind her, but maybe her new force-of-nature personality would help her rebirth into someone with power over herself.

Backstory:
Ken is an only child of rich workaholic parents, and perhaps that's where his excessive need and craving attention came from. He was raised more by his babysitters then his parents, and definitely hardly ever saw them. His babysitters came and went rather quickly since if they were pretty his father tended to flirt too much for his mother's liking, and if they weren't at least a little pretty his father nit-picked at every little thing about them until his mother agreed that they weren't a good fit. Ken was never aware of this fact never thinking much of it. They thought they could buy his love and distract him from the fact they weren't around, so anything he asked for he got. From dance lessons, to learning instruments, and even voice lessons.

These things did make him happy, and the more social ones kept him entertained with other people, but it was never able to fill the void inside him. He started to think however that if he made enough friends, and was popular enough that then maybe he'd feel complete. He was a social butterfly and it wasn't hard for him to make friends since he was kind, well off financially, and talented. It worked for a pretty little while until he had his first crush in middle school in 7th grade. Her name was Samantha Lovely and boy did he think she was. He was head over heels for the girl, and did all the cheesy things he'd seen done in romantic comedies to try and win her heart. It worked at first, but then it became too excessive for just a middle school fling for the girl and she broke things off breaking his heart. For the first time he felt like everything was right with the world and suddenly nothing was. It was then he decided the missing link wasn't friends (not that he still didn't like having them) but love. This lead to a string of such romances for him all through school. Some lasted a couple months, and his longest was a year. Each however ended the same and for the same reason...he was just too much, he wanted too much. He wanted forever, and true love like in fairy tales with him being prince charming. However most people don't want a white knight, and definitely don't want to talk about marriage and kids when they are still just teens themselves.

Last year his parent filed to be separated since working so much had made the two practically strangers, and his mother had grown tired of his wondering heart and eyes. This came as a shell shock to Ken since he'd been so wrapped up in everything else, that he'd never seen his parents struggles. Partially because they never let him, and partially because all their distractions they'd created actually worked. However seeing how terribly it affected him his parents agreed to stick it out and not officially divorce until he graduated high school. With this looming over his head he's plunged even deeper into finding solace in others and in his music. However this hasn't stopped him from trying, and doing all he can do to pursue both his dreams of becoming a celebrity with having the world cheer, appreciate, and love him, and finding true love with a special girl who will also.

backstory​

Oliver grew up in a very well-off family, whom originally lived in Los Angeles, California. His father, Nathan was apart of a famous alternative band in the 90s that was able to maintain its relevancy in the early 2000s. His mother, Melissa was a young groupie who got knocked up by Nathan during a one-night-stand. At first, Nathan didn't want to be tied down (in-fact, he was known as the player of his group), but after helping Melissa (financially & emotionally) during her nine months carrying Oliver, he quickly developed feelings for her. A month or two after Olivers birth the couple got hitched at a Las Vegas chapel and haven't looked back since.

In the big scheme of things, Melissa and Nathan Rhodes definitely moved way too fast. Nathan was quick to leave his band and settle down with his new wife and son in Melissa's hometown, Doveport, New Jersey. He bought a beautiful beach house for them to raise Oliver at and enrolled him in a prestigious preschool. Nathan opened up his own successful music store in the center of Doveport as a source of income while Melissa remained a stay-at-home mom. biography

Rowan was always a remarkably quiet kid, compared to the other kids that lived on his block, and a peacemaker at that. He was always able to smooth over conflict between other kids, which is a good skill to have when you live in a poor area with lots of kids. Unfortuantely, his strengths never lay in academics and he's always been an underachiever. Although it didn't bother him much as a kid, it became more of a problem when he got to middle school. Because of his laid back nature, his teachers always assumed he didn't try and made no effort to help him. Rowan sort of fell through the system, labelled as a failure, and gave up by the time he got to high school. He never made any effort to study or climb up the social hierarchy, electing to do the bare minimum to get by. He mostly hangs around with the other slackers and burnouts, usually taking drugs, and doesn't bother with most of his classes; he's made peace with the fact he'll never go to college, even if his parents haven't. Rowan finds that his parents are always breathing down his neck about his behaviour and he feels that they pick on him a lot more than his sister, due to his apathetic nature. Despite it all, Rowan is reasonably popular, simply because he's easy to get along with and harbours a secret soft side under his "don't care" attitude. He is known to be very gentlemanly, with girls especially, and will always stick up for an underdog. All Rowan wants is to escape this place- he intends to disappear over the summer and never come back.

biography

Growing up with a brother only a few months older meant that Diana and Rowan were what their mother liked to call "thick as thieves". Despite being younger, Diana always took charge of their games and proved to be a more dominant, confident personality than her older brother. By the time they entered middle school, Diana strove to please her parents and always worked hard at her studies and extracurriculars. She was well-liked by her peers for the most part, aside from some girls who found her domineering, and was always liked by her teachers. Moving into high school, Diana managed to bounce back and forth between a handful of cliques due to her having enough personality to belong in more than one group. She was well-liked for the most part, aside from earning a few enemies for her sharp tongue. She also earned herself a reputation as a gossip, knowing everything about everyone, and it's been joked that you don't tell anything to Diana unless you mind it getting around. On the flip side, it's also well known that Diana is the perfect person to feed a false rumour about someone you don't like as it gurantees it will get around. Diana held down a high school boyfriend for just under two years but they had a lot of problems, (he treated her badly but she's somewhat in denial), which meant they eventually broke up. It's been a difficult breakup. Frustratingly, Diana still finds that she is often known as Rowan's baby sister, rather than as her own person.

backstory
andrew was born galle, sri lanka to his parents, srimal and amani jayan. he was the last and youngest of six children, with the oldest child being 15 years his senior. although the family lived in one of the most beautiful cities in the whole country, they struggled financially and were eventually unable to support their family. they lived in a tiny two bedroom apartment, and when srimal, his father, lost his job, they were forced to move in with a distant family member in a different city.

their new home had less room than their original, leaving srimal and amani feeling as though they had no choice but to send their youngest son somewhere where he would have more opportunities and live a better life overall. so when andrew was 10, he was flown to the united states (california, specifically) to live with a host family. andrew loved his host parents but had trouble connecting with them, and after a year the family's birth child graduated high school and they decided to send andrew to a different family. this wasn't the first time he would be flown from home to home, trying to find one that fit.

throughout his teen years, andrew had trouble finding a place where he felt he belonged. he made friends, had girlfriends, went to parties, and everything he thought american teens were meant to do. his grades were slightly above average and he even tried a few sports along the way, but moving from home to home and school to school made it difficult for him to really make his mark on anywhere specific. he found it difficult to form strong emotional bonds with people and found it almost impossible to make himself vulnerable. he dealt with his feelings through humor, cracking jokes about everything that happened but deep down struggled to keep himself afloat on a day to day basis.

eventually, after going through 4 different homes around the country, andrew ended up in new jersey when he was 16 with a host family that he came to love as his own family. his host parents, two women named andrea and christina miller, cared for andrew as if he were their own son. andrew also formed a strong bond with their adopted daughter, jane, who was six. the millers lived comfortably in an apartment, as andrea was a social worker and christina owned a quaint coffee shop located directly below their apartment. however, tragedy struck the family when they received the news that andrew tipton, a wealthy businessman in the area, had bought out the complex in which both their home and their building was located. the family lost their store and was forced to move homes. their business was relocated to a small, less popular location, and they struggled to make ends meet with the sudden drop in popularity.

despite his love for the millers, andrew deeply missed his family in sri lanka. he rarely ever spoke to them anymore and was finding it more and more difficult to contact them. he was only able to talk to his parents about twice a year, and made contact with at least one of his siblings about once a month, if he was lucky.

Victor is the oldest of three kids, having two younger twin sisters. His mother is a cook, and his father works at the post office, so they are your average middle class family. Like any other young kid he was hooked on tv and video games since before he could remember, but when he was in 6th grade and took a basic computers course it interested him enough to want to learn more, and from that his interest grew and grew. This is also when he was introduced to comic books especially heroes and anime which became a passion for him as well. Because he spent so much time looking at a screen and not studying he didn't have the very best grades, but not wanting to disappoint his parents he kept them decent. Also while he's a sweet and friendly guy most of his friends are people he's met online rather than in real life because well most people just don't share his interests around here. The internet opens up a whole world of people for him to feel connected to. Because of that he spent most of his middle school and early high school years away in his home. He also got into cosplaying as a hobby not surprisingly because of his love for anime and such, but surprisingly because you wouldn't think him the type to try and learn to sew.

Outside of Math, science, and his computer electives His grades are average, but despite this because of the few people he does hang around with, and those few classes a lot of people think he's really smart and try to bully him and get him to do their homework which really frustrates and confuses him. More than anything that's the main reason why he wants to go off to college and get away from this place. He feels it's full of nothing but stereotypes, and his doesn't belong. He wants to one day create a awesome video game, and practices his programming skills often. He's done a few competitions with the school going all the way to the national level, but never getting the top spot just yet. childhood

growing up, beau never saw either of her parents much. her father was the spokesperson for a politician in their state and was often traveling, and her mother was a real estate agent who also traveled. often times she would see her parents for several days every few weeks, and very rarely would they both be home at the same time. the family lived in a very large mansion in the wealthiest part of town, and to compensate for their lack of presence, her parents provided her with many, many luxuries. she had many nannies and babysitters throughout her life, none of whom she connected very closely with. during her childhood, she was very close with her sister, blaire, who was four years her senior. additionally, in her early years, she thrived in school and showed vigorous promise. however, her efforts went unnoticed by her parents and others around her, and she eventually lost her motivation for trying at all. during all of this, beau began to notice that when her mother was home, there would often be men in the house that she had never seen before. the older she grew, the more she realized what was happening. she turned to blaire to comfort, and blaire explained to her, "what mom does is mom's business. it's not our place to interfere." beau obeyed.

teenage years

as beau started high school, blaire went off to college and beau was left an empty house, no guidance, no guardians, and no will to continue with her academic path of purity. she began by drinking, sneaking alcohol from the fridge that went unnoticed. at the beginning, it was all on her lonesome; she would do it at night, by herself. after a while, word began to spread around her school that she lived in an essentially vacant mansion, void of any parents or adults whatsoever but chock full of alcohol. before she knew it, beau's house was known as the "party house". she had people over every weekend and even some weekdays. her parents, not oblivious to the situation, did nothing to stop it, perhaps because the guilt of their own absence made them realize that they were the root of the problem.
