The Back to School Bash marks the end of the summer for the students of Doveport High. This tradition has been around for decades and it is supposed to be the biggest party of the year. The most popular students from the schools hierarchy host. This year the party is taking place at Beau Triden's ( bixby bixby ) mansion.

The breeze was a welcome relief as the air was still warm and sticky from summer; Rowan rubbed away the sweat that was beginning to gather on the back of his neck and took a long drag on his joint, grateful for the breeze. He wondered if the temperature would drop dramatically in the evening and was grateful that he'd brought a jacket with him- for a moment, he allowed himself to fantasise about offering his jacket to a particular person if she happened to get chilly in the night air but managed to shake it off. Man, this joint had already got to his head.

"Did you even tell him we were coming?" came a voice from inside the car, (old, junky, but still functional), and he turned to find that his sister had grown bored of waiting and had wound down the window to talk to him. She was lounging in the driver's seat, using her newly acquired permit to fufill the role of designated driver, and checking the messages on her phone absentmindedly. Like most of the Davenport student body, they were on their way to the "back to school bash" as hosted by Princess Beau herself and had parked up outside Floyd's house with the intention of giving him a ride. They hadn't exactly discussed it but Rowan had assumed it was a given since they were as close as brothers and always showed up to these high school traditions together.

"Relax, he'll see us," Rowan replied, putting out the joint and rolling it, stuffing it in his pocket to be resumed later. And if he didn't see them, he'd definitely be alerted to their presence by the sound of Diana's playlist blasting from the tired speakers, loud enough to shake roofing tiles loose. Still, Rowan removed his phone from his pocket in the same move and shot Floyd a quick text to alert him that they were outside and on their way to the party if he wanted a ride. Then, he drifted round to the other side of the car and peeled open the door, slipping into the passenger seat.

Inside the car, it was stuffy with heat, (the AC had long ago packed its bags and left them), and Rowan wished he had remained outside to wait, as he put his feet up on the dashboard and leaned back in his seat. Not that anybody would care if they showed up to the party looking dishevelled by heat, least of all Rowan, as his classmates expected so little of him that they probably wouldn't be surprised if he'd shown up in a clown suit. He knew that a majority of them looked down on him or even outright disliked him but frankly, Rowan didn't care. He knew that high school was just a temporary problem, just another year to be stripped from his life, before he could get out of here and escape to somewhere a million miles away; he liked to fantasise about coasts, forests, mountains, and long stretches of open road. For now, however, tonight would probably be alright. Not a lifechanging experience or anything but it probably wouldn't suck.

Diana's voice broke him from his thoughts, "I'm giving him five more minutes and then, we're out of here. He can walk."

The Hopeless Romantic

Ken was very excited. Not that he didn't love summer because let's face it who doesn't love long days where you can basically do whatever you want without the hassle of school? It wasn't like he couldn't still see his closest buddies either. In fact he got to spend even more time with them because they didn't have to worry about having different schedules, or in Oliver's case being in a whole other grade level. He spent a good portion of his time at the beach, or wondering the town talking to people since he honestly want to be anywhere except at home. Long days, and longer nights, but all good things must come to an end.

He missed being around everyone, even people who he wasn't necessarily friends with, just ok with because those were the ones he didn't really take the time to go see. In fact the reason he was so excited was because tonight marked the end of the summer which meant it was time for the traditional back to school bash! It was always the cherry on top a great summer. Everyone came out to this party, well perhaps not everyone, but the vast majority in his opinion at least. Not to mention Beau was hosting this year so it was sure to be amazing.

He sent a text to Oliver saying he'd be ready whenever he was to head out. He hadn't really seen his best friend all summer which was weird for him because they usually spent quite a bit of time together in the summer. It wasn't like Ken was bored without him since he still had all his lessons, Clara, Cindy, and Taika to hang with and keep him busy. It was just really odd, and he made a mental note to ask him what was up with that later. It also hurt a bit considering if he went away to college somewhere else this would've been their last summer together. Sure he didn't think him and Oliver were going to stop being friends after graduation or anything, but if all the movies and shows he'd seen were even half correct their lives would change regardless. His life was already changing without his permission soon, and he selfishly kinda wanted to hold onto what he had right now.

Not that he'd admit that to anyone especially not Oliver because he didn't want to make him feel bad especially if he had a good reason for being gone. If anything he'd just tell him next time he'll be the valet. He'd have offered to drive this time, but he still only had his permit. He had a car because his parents bought him one as an 'I'm sorry' gift for everything going on at home. He texted Clara letting her know he was riding with Oliver to the bash, and he can't wait to see her there. He started to get ready taking his sweet time because showing up early wasn't really his thing, and he wanted to make sure he looked good since you never know when true love might strike.

Even if that didn't happen tonight, it was going to be the first big gig for the band him and a few friends had started at the end of last year. He was sort of nervous about playing tonight because it wasn't the sort of music he was usually known for jamming to. That's not to say he didn't like it because he did, a lot actually. In fact being in the band opened him up to a whole new world of music since he'd never really listened to much rock or alternative before that wasn't mainstream on the radio. Despite Clara in the past giving the effort. In fact she was part of the reason he was even in the band, he found it hard to tell his best friend no, and it involved musically performing so he fell hook line and sinker. He just hoped their peers would appreciate all their hard work.

"The New Kid"

location: home

Ellie had spent her day lounging around after staying up late unpacking all of her belongings that she took with her during the move. She didn't have much to do aside from putting away all her clothes and finding spots for her sentimental belongings. She decided to completely organize her clothes before putting them away, folding the things that went in her dresser and organizing the clothes she was hanging in her closet by color. She was relieved to finally be done unpacking so she could spend the day relaxing before heading to the party Oliver had told her about. She figured it would be a good way to have fun after moving and a way to meet the people she's be spending her second half of high school with.

She had seen her childhood friend the day before after she had lugged all of her stuff into her house. She was relieved that she wouldn't be starting a new school completely alone and would have someone to hang around with. It had been a while since she had actually seen him. While she had talked to him a couple times since, the last time she saw him in person was at her mom's funeral, which was something she didn't really want to think about. They had grown apart over the years, becoming busy with their other friends and didn't spend as much time together as they once had, but that was likely going to change. Ellie was going to rely on him for a bit while she adjusts to a new school. She didn't have the advantage of knowing her classmates since they started school, so she was going to have to make an effort to meet people and make new friends.

She had taken her time getting ready for the party, making sure she looked nice because she wanted to make a good first impression. She had carefully styled her hair and did her makeup before getting dressed. She had decided on a white crop top and a yellow denim miniskirt with a matching jacket. The weather had been nice all day, but she decided to bring a jacket because the nights were starting to get cooler, especially near the ocean, where it was breezier. She checked the time when she had finished getting ready and saw that she had about 5 more minutes until Oliver was supposed to pick her up, so she went downstairs, slipped on her shoes, and went outside. She sat down on her front steps, waiting for Oliver to arrive.

AUGUST MOON
Soobin-txt-42034412-500-204.gif
Interacting: Leah, OPEN
Mentions: Leah, Aya, Cindy, Russell,

"Five, Six, Seven, Eight!"

Dance room lights blared down onto August's bare neck and face whilst the sensual music of the newest release of his favourite artist played. Hitting isolations perfectly and making beautiful lines, he was getting good. He knew he was really good when it came to dance. August had extra classes and multiple teachers and choreographers at the academy to back him. He was the perfect student and nothing could stop him once he was in the practice room; nothing but a party that anyone who was anything in their grade was going to. August blamed Leah. She was going and if she was going then August had to go. Ever since Aya and Cindy's 'falling out', August has been following around Leah like a lost puppy. They are similar and August knew that there was something there for them to be friends; nothing more, of course, just friends and he liked it like that.

It's not like he liked girls anyway. He did like someone but that was heavily hidden. He couldn't say. He wasn't ready, not yet at least, to come out. It's difficult when people within the LGBT+ community didn't accept a faceless ace person. Not to mention his homoromantic side which made everyone online believe he was gay when he wasn't. He liked boys but not like that. Boys were nice; they came in all shapes and sizes, some were squishy and cute whilst others were tough and mysterious and August never knew which boy would take his heart next. Let's just say this boy he liked currently couldn't know. He was too cool for him. August was a nerdy kid and he was much better than him.

August was currently showering after finishing off his solo dance session. He needed to kill this routine and fast. He was so close yet so far and wanted to do good for the next biannual showcase in December. There was a big group performance, four separate smaller group performances and everyone either was doing two solos or a duet. Needless to say, August chose the harder option here and he had three months to get everything solid before the competition. He let the cold water drip down his body as he decided what outfit to wear to the party. How to show that he was gay to other gays without outing himself to straights was a nightmare. Eventually, after much deliberation, he settled on a white bandana to deal with his hair and forehead, with a white t-shirt and denim shorts whilst a pair of sneakers completed the look. He thought of jewelry but eventually decided that was too flamboyant and should be kept to the stage where it is more accepted. Nothing could out him. Nothing.

A quick drive from his Dad and he was at the Triden residence. Of course, Mister Moon didn't expect his son to be getting into trouble and in honesty, August didn't want to but for the first time in a long time he was attending a party. He gulped and gave a deep breath. He walked inside to find no one that he expected. He texted Leah a message. He needed a tough friend to help him out.

"It's me. I'm already at the party. If you're still coming then find me before I get crushed by party animals and crazy people. ;D"

He was half joking. This was going to be a very different experience.

Oliver Rhodes
location: his car // outfit: X X
mentions: Ken ( Kitsune2202 Kitsune2202 ) & Ellie ( copacetic copacetic )

Oliver usually took a relatively long time getting ready; most of it was to work on that "natural look" he's been pulling off for the past two years, but he also happened to be nervous. No one knew about his brief stay in rehab. His pretentious mother refused to disclose this information to anyone, she wouldn't even acknowledge the fact he was in rehab. Thank God his father was more understanding. Apparently some of his band mates had to receive help with alcohol and drug problems from their wild times in the 90s.

Anyway, his mom told everyone who asked that Oliver was spending time down in California with his grandparents. Riding the waves, exploring LA, and bonding with his Dads side of the family. Only if that were true...

Oliver sat in his Jeep that was parked in the garage of their three story beach house. He leaned his head onto the steering wheel, taking deep breaths (a technique for calming which he learned in, you guessed it: rehab).

His head shot up at the text message from Ken and sighed. He quickly replied back with a, "heading out now!" before starting up his car, and backing out of the already opened garage. Oliver had planned to hang out with Ken earlier in the week when he arrived home after a long and secluded summer, but he didn't know what to say. Oliver just felt ashamed. About everything.

Given Oliver lived right next door from Ellie, he pulled out of his driveway and parked right in front of Ellie's home. He rolled down the front-passenger window and genuinely smiled. He missed his other half, "Ellie! Get your ass in here!" He called out in a playful tone.

Despite Ellie and Oliver growing apart during high school, she was one of the only people who could brighten his mood. Oliver refused to think about the last time they saw one another in that stuffy funeral home. She looked so beautiful now, out of that black attire and in the summer sun. Hopefully this year could be a new start for their friendship.

IMG_0393mcopyj.jpgClara had pretty much spent the day writing and brainstorming. She was so focused on what she was doing she almost forgot about the back to school bash. She was sitting on her bed writing in her notebook when she glanced at the time and realized how late it was. "Shit better start getting ready." She closed her notebook and set it on her desk then headed in the bathroom to take a quick shower. Once she was done she came out with the towel wrapped around her and went over to her closet to figure out what she was going to wear. Just as she started to take her clothes out she heard her phone go off. She walked over to her desk and to see who it was. It was a text from Ken telling her he going with Oliver and that he couldn't wait to see her at the bash. "No room for me?" Clara said to herself. "Eh I'll just take the bike." She sent him back a quick text then sat her phone down and went back to getting dressed.
Ken

Alright see you there lover boy.
"Man I hope he doesn't get love-struck tonight. Not sure I can stomach it." Ken was totally into all the romantic stuff and finding true love. Which Clara didn't mind but after seeing him do it so much to other girls it starts to get annoying after awhile. Well she did have to admit Ken at least had taste looks-wise....."Maybe I should wear something else." Once she was finally dressed she started to do her makeup but her phone suddenly started ringing. It was her mother. "...Fuck." She reluctantly picked up.

"Hey mom"

"Clara? I just wanted to let you know me and your father will be back in town tomorrow."

"Alright"

"How's the house you didn't throw and parties while we were gone did you?"

Clara rolled her eyes. "No, I haven't. Also makes you think I will? I've never done it before."

"Please, Clara what do you expect me to think? Your an utter disappointment. Maybe if you behaved more like your si-"

Clara hung up the phone letting her finish the sentence. ".........Disappointment huh?"

When Clara finally fnished her make up she headed down stairs getting ready to leave but before she did she topped infront of a statue that was in the living room. It was worth a shit tone of money and was going to be brought to some acution. Clara stared at it and then a few seconds later it smashed on to the floor. Ruth, the housemaid came running down the stairs when she heard it. Her eyes widen when she saw the statue had fallen and was broken.

"Clara what did you do?"

A devious smile came on her face. "Just thought I'd leave a present for mother when she gets home tomorrow. Oh, and don't you dare pick it up leave it there."

"But-"

"No, buts just leave it there," Clara said annoyed and then headed to the front door.

"Where are you even going?"

"I'm going to a party. Don't wait up." She slammed the door before Ruth could say anything else and left on her motorbike.

Location: Driving down the road on her motorbike.

See, Aya spent much of the last school year studying & perfectly calculating the hours she could spend in volunteering and going to college exam preps. Almost all of her time was related to academics & school, leaving little for “distractions” such as shopping, parties & texting out of the way. However, all of that work & struggle was soon then splintered into pieces by the answer sheets being spread around the school.
Soon afterwards, her name was being spread all over Twitter, much to her distaste. Now that the gossip & rumors died down and that she did her summer porridge, it was time for Aya to relax and get back online to her abhorred friends & beloved enemies. Today was the first day she’d be logging online to see all the mess and comments being poured out over the summer, along with the other summer plans being tweeted, namely the Back to School Bash or BSB for short. Doveport’s tradition of a BSB has run for decades and almost everyone attended. In her last two years of high school, the parties have been wild, filled with underage drinking, hazing & most importantly, unadulterated fun. More importantly in those last two years of high school, Aya had not attended one of the parties. Was it because of summer homework? Perhaps. Was it because of nerves however? Most definitely. Aya’s first two years of high school were complete hell despite the stellar GPA she achieved. Her freshman year was full of judging stares and the infamous confession prank that was pulled on her, which cost her a sizable chunk of her dignity & her a whole semester of teasing due to her once gullible mind. Once second year rolled around, she thought everything would return back to normal— until she was found guilty for stealing and spreading the answers to the school finals. To top the cake, Cynthia and August ghosted her & left her to fall flat on her face during the whole ordeal, neither of the two having the backbone to text or visit her during the long summer. Or at least that’s what she believed.
Regardless, Aya gave them the same treatment back and refused to text them after she got out of the schoolhouse. And now that she was free, best believe this little imp went all out to reinvent herself as a new woman. One who could slither into classrooms, offices & parties with pride & poise to brandish others, the type of girl would could jump over even the toughest of obstacles. In consequence, Aya decided to practiced her cosmetology skills from magazines and smuggled video clips all summer to achieve a glammed up & natural glow. She finally took care of her frizzy & undefined bird’s nest she had balanced on her head. And as a result, came out looking like a new person after almost 3 months of preparation & care. Now that the summer was almost over & the BSB was today, Aya decided to attend the little shindig in hopes of showing off her new look & setting off the year with a surprisingly firm note.

After scrolling through the internet to absorb all the information she missed through the long absence, Aya set up her array of beauty supplies, hair equipment & strange wizardry onto her bed. Before starting with any makeup though, the girl showered and used her favorite perfumes, soaps and hair products to perfect her now signature curly shag ‘do. After a good session of tidying and grooming, the girl was done! Well almost done.
Aya’s pièce de résistance was probably the outfit, specifically the blouse. Not because it was expensive, name brand or made out of gold & linen. The blouse was important because it wasn’t hers; it belonged to Aya’s mom, Kainani. Yes, the long sacred teenage ritual of “stealing clothes” had finally come to a revolution with Aya wearing the silky beige blouse that her mom bought ages ago. Of course, the bodice was maybe a size too large for Aya, but resulted in a slouchy look that was perfected with a few open buttons. With the simple adjustments of a slouched shirt, Aya’s outfit was perfected & ready. Now that her whole witchcraft called “getting ready” was refined & squared away, she could finally head out. The question was, how was she gonna get there? Aya was strictly prohibited to going anywhere but school. Taika already left to the party in his car & didn’t expect for Aya to come. However, Aya had a few tricks up her sleeve to deal with her dilemmas.
First trick of the day was simply climbing out of her bedroom window. Because of Aya’s small size, climbing out of small spaces seemed like child’s play. In addition, her house was only a story tall, resulting in an easy getaway without tough obstacles & messy drops. Aya simply jumped out the window and grabbed her tiny backpack she set on the windowsill, closing the window behind her and nonchalantly ambling onto the alleyway. Subsequently, her phone vibrated, revealing a twitter notification about the party. After seeing this, Aya quickly nipped to the sidewalk on the end of the street & soon the second trick of the day, namely an Uber, pulled up in front of her to pick her up & drive her to her destination: Beau Triden’s house.

Aya arrived to the location about 12 minutes later. In the car, she looked up to see the many others on the outside, inside & around Beau’s house. The house (well, mansion) was much different than what she remembered the very few times she tagged along with Taika, though she does remember she was forced & didn’t get a good look at the house’s structure or appearance. Maybe the teenagers out front made it look different, as an empty house & a disheveled house can look very different. Notwithstanding of the house’s appearance, it was time to enter in & absorb the ardent energy being put off by the house & absorb it for herself. The girl payed the Uber and bounced into the Triden residence. What she saw inside positively surprised Aya. The house was filled with people, music and mysterious red cups that smelled rank yet delicious. The music seemed to make the house rumble & gambol, yet somehow keeping to secure to the foundation in the ground. The people were all genuinely smiling & having fun, inviting her to the other worldly fun that was occurring inside.

Cynthia had arrived early to the Back to School Bash with her sister, Lilith whom was actually trying to make an effort to fix their relationship. Cindy wasn't having it, but she did need a ride. However, Cindy didn't like the idea of coming early to this party, this just meant she'd have to hang around longer until Lyla was ready to drive her home. Doubt Lyla would drive her home anyway, she'd probably start getting drunk right after her bands performance.

Since Cindy did arrive early to Beau's place, to keep herself occupied she helped Lyla set up the makeshift stage for tonight's performance. That was the only thing she'd do tonight to help Lyla, other than that and the ride, Cindy wanted nothing to do with her. Once more people began to arrive, Cindy began to circulate around the mansion while sipping on a red solo cup filled with whatever alcoholic beverage she found lying around the kitchen. It tasted like gasoline, and within the next hour it was spilled into a potted plant.

Cynthia and her ex-friend group were really never into parties, Cindy only ever went to this party annually because Lyla did. Tonight happened to be different for Cindy. She didn't want to come into the party just to sit around on the couch and watch people be drunken idiots. She wanted to be one of those drunken idiots. The only problem to that was Cindy didn't know how. Maybe Floyd would show up soon? Despite tutoring him, they did get along well and I'm sure he'd hook her up with some weed and a party attitude.

Cindy just wanted a fresh start to the year, especially after everything that went down with her and Aya. Shit, hopefully she wouldn't run into August and Aya. It would be highly unlikely for either of them to show up, and it would even be more unlikely for August to walk up to her. He completely ignored her all summer after quite a few messages she sent to him. When it came to Aya, Cynthia was terrified to run into her in the hallway, end up in the same class, etc. Cindy felt awful for ditching Aya when the car got trashed and she felt even worse for not reaching out to her. Cynthia was never good at confronting people, especially if she knew she was in the wrong... And Cindy was undoubtedly in the wrong.

Victor Jackson

Victor had been enjoying himself all day in his room. He had finished mapping out a video game concept, won two games of League of legends, and ordered a few new cool things he'd found on Amazon. Overall a pretty productive day if he did say so himself. So why was he pacing around looking like a nervous wreck right now? No it wasn't because summer was over which meant it was time to get ready and go back to school...though that didn't help. Nope it was this traditional back to school bash.

He'd gone freshman year, then never again. It just wasn't his scene, but this year he'd told his friends he was going to make more of an effort to be more social, and less of a homebody. Which one of them reminded him meant that this party would be a great first step in that direction because unlike other parties, literally everyone was invited to this. Which in his mind just meant it was sure to be nothing but chaos. They all couldn't get along while in school together, why would including drinking, possibly drugs, and music suddenly change that? He didn't understand his peers he never had and this was proof. His online friends were much easier to understand.

He sighed finally deciding to keep his word and logged off his computer and game system to get ready. What should he even wear to something like this? Something light he supposed, since it was still summer after all. Was plaid tacky? He wasn't really one for fashion since half the time he stuck to graphic T-shirts and jeans, but tonight he wanted to put in little effort since that was the name of the game this year. Finally throwing someone on he could be satisfied with he borrowed the family car and drove to Beau's mansion of a house. Already he felt out of place, and early? He arrived a few minuets before the designated time, but he supposed popular kids arrive late to their own parties?

Regardless he walked in nervously with his hands shoved in his pockets hoping to find someone soon he recognized to distract himself with, and cool his anxiety. His eyes quickly fell on Cindy, " Hey! Cindy you're here already too." He waved relieved he wasn't the only one here a bit early. He didn't really know anything about the estranged friends since he kept to himself most of the summer and away from the end of school drama/gossip. He wasn't avoiding anyone and if they called or wanted to hang out he was down to, but he just wasn't good about reaching out, especially if he didn't know something was wrong. Honestly if he could get through this party without running into Chloe that'd be the best part of the night.

"Boo, you whore"

Chloe spent the morning lounging in her room and scrolling through her instagram. It was something she spent a large amount of her time on, however it paid off because she had over 15,000 followers. She carefully edited her photos so they all fit the theme of her feed. Sure, it seemed trivial to many people, but Chloe wanted to be an influencer. She wanted people to watch her life through what she posted and admire her. It was vain, but it was the truth. The select few who made their careers through social media had the life Chloe wanted. She had all the advantages that would help her to achieving this. She had money, she had the clothes, she had the looks, and she had the ability to know how to make her feed appeal to others.

She was going to head over to Beau's early in order to help her set up for the party. Beau and Chloe were a package deal, best friends. Even though they sometimes fight, they always made up. Beau always threw the parties and Chloe was always there to help and provide the supplies. Chloe's mom was a housewife, but Beau's parents always traveled, making her house the perfect place to host their parties. After she took her time getting ready, she slipped on her black patent Louboutins that matched her skirt. Though Beau only lived a few houses down, Chloe drove because she never failed to take an opportunity to show off her car.

She let herself into Beau's house, like she usually does and put her things in Beau's room before she started on helping set up for the party. She had all the supplies bought and dropped off at the house ahead of time. She placed plastic cups and sodas on a table where she had put all the alcohol and she had dumped bags of chips, pretzels, and other snacks into bowls that sat on a table adjacent to the drinks table. All the valuables that could be broken were removed from the common areas and stored in Beau's parent's bedroom, which was to be kept locked throughout the party. They've hosted so many parties by this point, they had the routine down to a science.

It wasn't long after they finished setting up when guests started arriving. Chloe pulled up the playlist she and Beau created for the party and started it, so the music was pumping through the speakers that were set in the ceilings throughout the house. While Chloe loved throwing and attending parties, she was particularly excited for this one. Tonight would be the last night of peace amongst the Dove High student body before the Burn Blog premiered. Inspired after a night of watching Mean Girls and binging Gossip Girl, Chloe brought the idea to Beau, the only person she would trust with this sensitive of a plan.

Shortly after, the girls began searching for and compiling secrets of their fellow students that would soon be broadcast to the public. Nobody was safe. They were going to take a note from Regina George's book and include themselves to avoid suspicion. Chloe was actually quite proud of herself with this plan. It was her last hurrah before graduating this year. Afterwards, she planned to get the hell out of Dodge and hopefully move to LA. Maybe Beau would come with her and they will start the lives they were meant to be living. "You ready?" she asked Beau before opening the doors, allowing people to come and go as they please.

"Whatever."

location: beau's mansion

Russell stood in front of his mirror, cocking his head at his appearance like a curious dog. No matter how much fluffing he'd done, his hair was miserably flat today. Perhaps it was a sign that he should stay home. After all, he knew he wouldn't mingle with the majority of the people who'd attend. Effectively outcasted by all those relevant at Doveport High. Not that he cared much anyways. After all everyone knew that Russell's interests were tied to the cellphone he cradled in his hand. So long as his TikTok followers still loved him, he didn't give much care about what the dull kids at his high school thought.

But still, parties meant party favors. Passing up an opportunity for free weed would be unprecedented for the boy. So instead of fussing with his hair anymore, he grabbed a hat from his closet and gave himself another glance in the mirror. It would work. He did a few silly poses in the mirror before swiping through his phone and selecting Snapchat. A few more poses, Russell took a video and was in the process of posting it when his little brother barged unwelcome into his bedroom.

"Get the fuck out of my room, Eric," Russell snapped, not even bothering to turn towards the door. Eric should've known by now to knock, so Russell didn't feel the least bit sorry about using harsh language. The younger McKinney boy didn't budge though, instead leaning against the door frame and crossing his arms in front of himself. After a few seconds of silence Russell finally cared enough to shift his gaze towards his brother, a fiery annoyance flashing in his eyes. Russell and Eric both knew they didn't get along well and usually took strides to avoid each other rather than antagonize.

"Well. I know you're going to the party I just need a ride. I'm gonna be a Freshman this year it's supposed to be your job to teach me the ins and outs. Look all you have to do is-"

Eric was interrupted by a shoe flying towards him, dodging out of the way just in time. The shoe left a sizeable dent in the wall, one of many actually. Russell had a habit of throwing things at his walls much to the annoyance of his parents. Either way, Eric took the hint and ducked out of Russell's room. There was no way in hell he was going to drive his shit head little brother to the party. The 14 year old was far too much of a tattletale to be trusted.

Russell grabbed his keys and rushed out of his room, ignoring his parent's questions as he left the front door open and hopped into his car. To him, it was none of their business what he was doing or where he was going. He typed Beau Triden's address into his phone navigation system and within seconds was on the road and on his way. The place wasn't too far from Russell's but enough to result in quite the change in scenery. While Russell's cul-de-sac symbolized the cardboard cut out lifestyle of suburbia, the Triden mansion represented... Excessiveness.

Parking his shitty 2003 Hyundai Elantra felt like a bit of an embarrassing endeavor. Despite the fact that they could've easily afforded a better car for Russell, his parents didn't seem to trust an expensive car in the volatile boy's hands. Regardless he parked anyway and stepped out, scrolling through his Twitter feed in hopes that someone he actually cared about was posting about attending. Not finding anything promising, Russell sighed heavily. It was too late to change his mind now as sitting at home would only earn him incessant nagging from Eric. So he made his way up to the house and slipped inside. Russell grabbed a cup and filled it with the mysterious party punch (yea, the one every health class tells you to avoid) and found a pleasantly deserted spot on the couch to sit. Yay, parties.

Violet raised an eyebrow at herself in the mirror. Her clothing wasn't her usual jeans and t-shirt outfit. She had put on a flushed pink top and shorts. She wasn't sure why though. She wasn't sure why she was doing anything tonight. She'd never been to any of these big parties, she didn't care for them, but tonight felt different. It was her last chance. For what, she didn't know. She wasn't going to make friends, or explain her distant behavior, that would be counterproductive. She was just going to go over to the party, check it out for a bit, then leave. She didn't want to talk to anyone, and people probably didn't want to talk to her either.

She took one last glance in the mirror before putting her shoes on and going downstairs. She could hear the t.v from the other room. Choosing to avoid her mother, she walked past the room quickly. She grabbed the keys to her Ford Focus, which she got used and cheap, and headed out. She approached Beau's mansion and shook her head. What was she even doing here? She parked her car and sighed. Violet contemplated just going back to her house and staying in. Not going to happen. She was already there, no going back now.

She stepped out of the car and went into the house. There were already a lot of people there, which was a good thing because that way she'd be less noticeable. She noticed Victor was there, someone she wouldn't mind talking to, but he was talking to Cindy. Cindy seemed decent but Violet had never really spoken to her. She continued through the house. She really wasn't sure of what she should do. She took a couple pretzels from the snack table, choosing not to drink anything. She decided to just hang around for an hour, then hopefully leave. She noticed Russell sitting on a couch looking just as disinterested as her. She took a seat on the couch, deciding it would be a good place because Russell didn't seem like he'd be talkative.

Violet couldn't wait for this night to be over.

Excluding the trip with Beau from earlier this summer, he was on guard duty for two months for Ms. Hannibal Lector, who was on house arrest for almost the whole summer. As a result, he was also set back during the summer. Instead of hanging out with his friends in the arcade or attending all the latest parties with Beau, he was stuck at home having to hold down the fort & serving the prisoner her meals, who seemed to so depressed that she sat in her room all day reading magazines or listening to the hum of the radio– or was it the computer? Anyhow, her crimes seemed to also apply for Taika, even though he was not the one responsible for the crime(s). Despite his outer thoughts, Taika felt somewhat guilty. Not because of Aya's crimes or his love for his little sister, but for something he did over the summer. You see, he filmed a tape with Beau over the summer. And not just any old home video, it was of video of them doing the deed. In other words, the home video was a sex tape. Why it popped in his mind now was beyond him, but he felt the need to delete it or hide it somewhere to be left as a memoir of a summer night & nothing else. Despite the feelings that Taika was experiencing, he left it on the backburner, ignoring the paranoia that haunted him. Instead, Taika left to take care of the party at Beau's house, which happened to fall on his birthday. The back to school bash was a big thing in Doveport, but even more so for the Calix family. Their son aged every year on September 3rd & the fact that his birthday was on Doveport's BSB fell on his birthday futher proved his "Golden Boy of Doveport" image. His varsity brothers & friends seemed to always help him introduce himself to the freshman as the top dog in sports and celebrate his birthday in the most enjoyable ways. In fact, last year he drove to a tattoo parlor with his buddies and got a tattoo on his left bicep. While they didn’t help with the design or size, they paid for it and rolled a few spiffs to numb the pain & talk for the hours in the flatbed of Taika’s truck. This year, Beau was throwing the BSB this year so Taika was sure that the girl would throw a invigorating and diverting party to celebrate the beginning of a new year and another year for Taika. To top things, his duty as guard for Aya was excused for the day to compensate for the long summer spent being a security guard than a teenage boy. After showering and letting his hair fall in place (with the help of some hair products, of course), the boy went to wear his newest clothes & Beau’s favorite cologne for the occasion. He ambled into his truck & drove to Beau’s house, arriving 45 minutes before to surprise his girlfriend and help put decorations. He was sure this bash was going to be great, but something kept nibbling at him. Was it anxiety for the next year— or was it the secret he was keeping? The boy put aside these thoughts and resumed to help Beau & Chloe put up decorations and resumed to his charming and outgoing self. [/div] [div class=tabcontent2 style=display:none] outfit +

"Leah! Leah look! Look what I made!" her little sister May exclaimed, pushing what Leah was pretty sure was a painting into her face. Chuckling and setting her skateboard that she'd been 'decorating' off to the side, Leah was finally able to catch hold of her sister's creation and keep it steady so that she could actually take a good look at it. It was indeed a painting of a bunch of flowers of all different colors, and Leah could swear she saw some glitter in there somewhere. That would be hell to clean up later, but neither she nor her mother would say anything of the sort, because it made May happy.

"It's beautiful May, have you shown mama yet?"

"Not yet, I wanted you to see it first! I'll go show her now, you're the bestest!" May said, so expressive that it seemed like she was bouncing as she spoke. She then tucked the painting under her arm and ran out of the room, Leah could only pray that she had let it actually dry this time before hauling it around like that.

Shaking her head with a small smile, Leah settled back into her chair and went to grab her skateboard and marker again, her eyes only casually shifting towards the clock. She did a double take however and stood with a start when she read the time. It was already evening and she was already late to the 'Back to School Bash'. Cursing under her breath she began hustling around her room gathering shoes, her bass, and her cellphone, throwing her room into even more of a disarray than how it normally was, but starting the school year would only make it worse so she simply had no motivation to clean it. Taking just a second to stop in front of a mirror and smooth out her t-shirt and throw a jacket over her shoulder, she was grateful she'd thought to already have done her makeup earlier. Leah had never really cared much about how other people saw her- she appreciated when they liked her outfits, but could care less if they didn't, so she was more than happy going to the party as she was. A notification from her messages was the only thing stopping her from running out the door right then, as she took care to answer her friend before leaving.

August: 'It's me. I'm already at the party. If you're still coming then find me before I get crushed by party animals and crazy people. ;D'
Leah: 'I'll be there in just a min. Don't worry A, I'll protect you... but only if you need it ;)'

With that Leah was off, her bass in her bag over her shoulder and her hair flying out behind her as she went way too fast on a skateboard for not wearing a helmet- or at least that's what she knew her mother would say. She smiled to herself and only pushed on faster until the location of the party came into view. It was the house of one of the 'popular' girls, Beau, who Leah had never had any real problem with, but she'd never really wanted to know. She did hang out with Chloe, after all. Seeing Lyla's car already there, Leah stowed her skateboard on top of it simply to have a 'safe' place to put it for the moment before rushing inside. Leah hoped she wasn't too late, they were preforming today, after all. With a brief glance around the room, that was already beginning to get packed, Leah located August and made her way over to him with a smile.

"Hey Auggie! You managed to survive without me for more than ten seconds, I'm impressed," she teased in greeting. She had at least a thousand nicknames for most everyone she considered a friend and would use them at any given opportunity, tonight was no exception.

mIMG_0400copyo.jpgClara took the long way to Beau's house. She needed to cool off before getting to the party. Also, now she was slightly regretting breaking that statue only slightly though. "Great...I wonder if I could crash at friend's place tonight." Finally, she arrived at her destination and boy was this place getting packed quick. "I'm not that late am I?" Clara said as she parked the bike. She took her helmet off, got off the bike then sat her helmet down as scanned the area. "I better find the others. I don't even know what time we perform." She stuck her hands in her jean jacket pocket and headed inside. When she was in she scanned around the area see if she could find any of the bandmates luckily she spotted Leah. Clara smiled glad it take long to find one of them and called out to her and waved. "Hey, Leah!" She stuck her hand back in her pocket and walked up to her. "Hey, any idea if the other's made it yet?"

Ellie Thomas
"The New Kid"

location: oliver's car

with: oliver

mentions: oliver ( summerwine summerwine )

outfit: x x

A grin spread on Ellie's face as Oliver's car pulled up. She stood and straightened her skirt before walking quickly to said car. She slid into the passenger seat and leaned over to hug Oliver. They hadn't really seen each other since her mother's funeral and it was much nicer to see him out of that context. She couldn't tell if it was the emotion of the memory coloring her view, but he looked much better now. While she was nervous to start over at a new school, she was glad she had Oliver for she knew she could truly rely on him and he wouldn't let her struggle all on her own.

"It's been too long, Oliver. But I guess that's all going to change," she commented. Before the move, it made her quite sad to look back and realize how far she had grown apart from Oliver. They were once inseparable as children, spending each night she was in Doveport together at one of their houses. She would tell him everything and now she felt like she hardly knew him. However, at the same time she still felt like she knew him better than anyone. People don't change all that much, do they? She just hoped that she wasn't mistaken and he was the same sweet, thoughtful Oliver that she couldn't help but love spending all her time with.

She leaned back in her seat and put her feet up on the dashboard, looking at Oliver to make sure it was okay. "A party could be a good way for me to break the ice with everyone. Anything I should know in advance?" she questioned. She figured it would be like other standard high school parties thrown by rich kids. There will be drinks, probably some drugs, loud music, and most definitely drama. Ellie didn't want to be caught up in something she doesn't understand, so she's just going to stick to Oliver. Sure, she'll probably look like a lost puppy, but she really only cared about having fun. This is the first time she was really letting loose since she lost her mom, so she was excited to have some fun.
