Marvel/Daredevil Roleplay

Plot

There's a Devil in Hell's Kitchen.

Matt Murdock is the elusive Devil of Hell's Kitchen, but it looks like he's got his work cut out for him. On top of the shady business Fisk is pulling off with his crime-riddled colleagues, there is another crime lord in the city. No one knows his real name, but they call him The Piper.

Piper is taking advantage of all the street rat mutants in New York. These are people with no homes, no future, and nowhere to go....except straight into Piper's hands, where he uses them for all kinds of terrible and distasteful deeds.

Meanwhile, Fisk and Wesley are scrambling to find out anything they can about Piper. Who is he? Is he a mutant? What does he want?

And will he work with them?

Together, Piper and Kingpin would be unstoppable, but will Piper agree to join him? Can Fisk even locate the newest crime lord in town? What happens if he does?

Fisk is offering a huge sum of money to anyone who can shed some light on the new guy, but nothing has been turned up so far. Fisk is desperate, especially since the Devil of Hell's Kitchen has been giving Fisk his own personal brand of Hell.

Fisk will do anything to stop the mask, and gain the Piper and his ever-growing army of street rat mutants. But is he in over his head?

Name: Sable

Age: unkown (looks 15-18)

Height: 4"11'

Weight: 105 lbs (lots of lean muscle)

DOB: October 3

Hair color: changes from black to platinum and anything in between, usually almost white

Eye color: light hazel

Mutant Y/N: Y

Abilities if Y: Sable has abilities in the kinetics/kinesis, however, the way she does these kineses are different than most. Sable can see every atom, every microscopic chemical reaction that occurs, every bond that forms an object. While she doesn't truly understand her powers she knows she can control and mess with those elements and compounds. Doing this have given her the name of "The Alchemist" on the streets. Turning Water into wine is no longer a fantasy if you have the right stuff. Most of the time however, Sable's abilities manifest in the form of different types of kinesis.

Vices: Sable is rather hot headed and will seek revenge to the fullest extent if wronged. She doesn't trust anyone, not even her boss and continues to keep the full extent of her abilities secret. She fears if she were to explore and train her powers to deeply, she may accidentally split two atoms killing thousands. Growing up on the streets of the city, she lacks refinement, class, and manners.

Virtues: Sable isn't like many of the others who work for her boss (who needs a badass name we have to come up with in the OOC). She wants to make sure in her missions that no one is hurt or killed in the cross fire. She values human life and fears her own power. Still, girl's gotta eat.

Bio (2-4 paragraphs):

Sable was born to two mutant parents, the pregnancy however, killed her mother due to the strange anatomy she had to allow her to use her abilities. Sable doesn't know much about her father except that a young man dropped her off at a home for wayward children in a small, lacy carriage on October 3. There was only a note that read "My..." and what was believed to be the infant's name. With no birth records of the name, the home took her in. However, there was low government funding and the home was over crowded. There were some cases of physical and sexual abuse from older usually male children and in some cases, the workers. Sable learned quickly that if she was going to make sure the least harm were to come to her was to stay with male children she found to be harmless to her for protection. It was a common thing for children to run away from the home, and some were never found and taken back. As Sable's group began to follow in the other children's foot steps and leave the home, Sable found herself alone.

At the time, Sable was 8 years old in the 4th grade, an advanced student in math and science, she was skipped ahead a grade. She could see things that others couldn't, she could see the small pieces of the universe and how the formed together to make the big picture, it helped her understand the sciences and math a little quicker than other children. Unaware of this, she had been being watched by a man with oily hair and large glasses for over a week now, fantasizing about her kidnapping. On the playground and in the classroom, however he hadn't had the nerve to follow her home. Finally, he decided to make his move. Without the other boys, Sable was walking home alone, desiring the isolation. She had been using an abandoned factory building as a place to train her powers she had been beginning to notice in an attempt to discover something about herself and her origin. Once she made her way into the abandoned basement, the man thought this was his chance. He followed her in with malicious excitement. He caught her, grabbing her by the arm he tried to pull her into his grasp but she held on an old rusted rail for dear life. She screamed her voice echoing throughout the building, and as she did, the ground began to shake as debris flew at the man, his whole head began to spin as it felt his brain was beginning to rattle around. Somehow she had lifted him into the air, blood dripping from his nose and ears. Afraid, Sable ran away causing him to drop to the ground, still alive but unconscious. Without anyone knowing where he was, the man died before he could receive help.

Sable didn't go back to the home. She ran and ran through the alley ways until her throat was dry and aching from exhaustion. She began her life on the streets, begging and performing tricks for money, singing or doing what she called "magic tricks" that got her just enough to get by. However, she honed her skills and began to draw larger and larger crowds, learning more about chemistry, physics, and alchemy from her time spent at the library she made her acts more elaborate and also more scientific. She would earn hundreds of dollars a day on the street and soon word got out of her abilities. At age 10, she was taken in by [instert cool name here]. She found many of the boys who left the home had been taken in their, too. Many of the older girls were used for prostitution and escorts while the younger ones were used in cons to lure in perverted men and then take them for all their money. However [cool name here] had a different plan for Sable. Her abilities sent her to work with the other mutant boys as a theif and con artist, and one of the best.

Name: Shelton Fontenot "Snafu" or "Snaf"

Age: 87 (appears 25-30)

Height: 5"9

Weight: 135 lbs

DOB: January 21, 1922

Hair color: dark brown

Eye color: blue/gray

Mutant Y/N: Y

Abilities if Y: rapid healing, slowed aging, and an ability to control fire and explosives.

Vices: Snafu has trouble expressing when he is emotional distress and often does not do anything to work it out. He keeps things bottled up inside and hangs onto them for a long time until they explode, sometimes literally. He can be hard and calloused towards other's emotional distress

Virtues: Snafu has a natural sense of duty and a call of responsibility which he feels for the safety of his community whether it be a duty to his country or his city. He is hard working and will do what needs to be done to protect what is important to him. He is known for his loyalty to those he lets into his circle.

Bio (2-4 paragraphs): Shelton was born in Thibodeaux, Louisiana in 1922 to Arthur and Millie Fontenot. His father worked at the sugar mill in town while his mother stayed home and took care of himself and his two younger brothers, one was four and the other was six years younger. Shelton grew up in the Cajun lifestyle that soaked the small town outside of New Orleans. On weekends, he and his father would go out shrimping on his grandfather's boat he had bought after coming to America. He had always been a smiley outgoing kid with a sometimes abraisive sense of humor causing him to very popular among the boys in his hometown. Shelton began to notice he was different when he was in middle school. When he was angry, things would smoke and sometimes begin to burn. Often times in high school he would through bonfire parties are explode piles of scrap from the mill. After high school graduation in 1940, Shelton worked in the sugar mill with his dad for a year before the attack at pearl harbor. This pushed Shelton into action as he joined the marines and upon graduating boot camp was immediately sent over seas. In the war, he was given the name Snafu for his rambunctious personality, incredible risks he took in battle, and sadistic sense of humor about the Japanese. By the end of the war, Snafu had earned five awards including three bronze campaign stars.

After the war, he returned home to his family in Thibodeaux, never speaking of the war again. Suffering from PTSD (an unknown condition at the time simply referred to as shell shock or exhaustion), he had vivid nightmares that kept him from getting sleep. His family and friends noticed a severe change in his personality, as he began more distant, withdrawn, and almost sadistic, uncaring. He started working at the mill again with his father before taking advantage of the GI Bill and going to school to study mechanics. This allowed Snafu to further hone his abilities. However, the sounds of the very explosions he made brought back the painful memories. Originally hoping pursuing and learning more about his abilities would allow him to gain more control, it instead caused the memories of war to come back.

Fifteen years after the war ended both his brothers having grown up and moved out with their own families, Snafu woke up to a loud explosion. He flew from his bed and landed in a pile of debris which covered him. Unable to move, he called for his parents and struggled in attempts to get free. exploding the objects trapping him, he was able to pull himself free and search for his parents. His father's body had been mutilated by the explosion, but he found his mother still alive. He held her in his arms, screaming for help as the emergency lights approached his street. His mother died in his arms as the emergency respondents arrived. Ultimately, the town blamed Snafu for what had happened and attempted to arrest and try him for manslaughter. Snafu took off to hide from the mob that had formed to seek retribution. He went east, living in Florida for twenty years before making his way up north.

Snafu now resides in Hell's Kitchen working as a bomb specialist who works as a fireman. He uses his education and mutant abilities to help others and work his hardest to decrease further destruction. Time has allowed him to get control of his abilities.

Just and FYI post to let you know what everyone is currently doing with their lives right now.

Nelson and Murdock has an office officially and a few clients occasionally, though their business is still struggling to get off the ground. Karen is their secretary, and their friend. They like to go to a bar called Josie's in the evenings and drink. A lot of times it's just Foggy and Karen because Matt is out kicking bad guy butt. Foggy has a huge crush on Karen, Karen kinda likes Foggy but has a bit of a thing for Matt. Matt is too busy to have a 'thing' for anyone. I am ignoring the fact that Claire exists (she is a nurse that helps Matt out in the show. If you haven't met her yet I apologize. But for this rp she's not needed so I'm pretending she doesn't exist, although we can bring her in for drama later on if need be).

My character is a trauma nurse in Hell's Kitchen, and she has been patching up all the bad guys Matt has been kicking the crap out of recently (because, you know, that's what nurses have to do sometimes). She hears murmurs and whispers and ramblings about a 'man in a mask' but is wondering who the heck it is, if they even exist. Most of the time she hears it from guys who have concussions anyway. In the evenings she also likes to visit Josie's for a beer. My plan is to have Fisk kidnap her, and just when she's about to go all crazy martial arts on his people's butts, Daredevil busts in to keep her from killing anyone and to save her even though she didn't really need it. Then she starts helping him out by patching him up after fights and stuff. She meets Matt at the bar, later, and connects the dots after she realizes his emotions match completely to the man in the mask. But that'll be later.

Fisk and Wesley are working on either teaming up with or 'acquiring' the boss man and his enterprise. They haven't been able to track him down yet, but are offering BIG BUCKS to anyone who will help them.

That's about it for my guys. :) Just to give you an idea of where we are starting.

"Ryder, come in, Ryder..." Sable spoke into her earpiece, "Approach at my seven,"

"Approaching," Ryder's voice spoke back to her, appearing at her side out of the darkness like a shadow, "What's the situation?"

"Well, we have the Columbians over here, their trying to make a deal with one of the Crypt Lords... it seems like it's going fine but their waiting for Jandu, he's got the money." Sable reported putting away her interception device.

"Sounds good, how much is in there?" Ryder asked.

Sable shrugged, "I don't know, but that's a hella' lot of coke," she chuckled.

"Mac is set up with a diversion to stop the driver hopefully without crashing him, we don't want the cops over here hearing a big clanging crash," Ryder informed.

Nodding, Sable's eyes, the only thing visible, scanned over to Ryder, "Sounds good, Let's head out," With the hood over her head and bound chest, Sable looked like a young boy, she preferred to keep it that way and didn't want anyone who happened to see her who she was, or what she was, after all... she didn't really even know, "How much of this are we getting?"

"15%" Ryder said happily.

"15? that's a little less than I normally get," Sable said as Sable started running, jumping to the fire escape on the next building she pulled herself up and began climbing up, Ryder close behind responded,

"What? The most I or the guys have ever gotten on missions from Piper is 8%. I don't know why but... he likes you,"

Sable shrugged, she wasn't the biggest fan of Piper. He wasn't a nice man, nor a good man, just a man; but he kept Sable safe, guaranteed she would be taken care of if she worked for him, and he gave her more stability than she had had before.

Arriving at the road the Jandu was supposed to be coming down, the two waited. It didn't take long before a bus appeared.

"That's it," Ryder said.

"That?" Sable asked, "That's from Seasons Retirement Community," she said reading the bus from the distance as she looked through binoculars, "That's not it,"

"It's it..."

"There are old people on the bus... and care takers," she put down the binoculars, "It's not it."

"Look at the man driving,"

Sable looked through the binoculars once more and saw Jandu driving dressed in a caretakers uniform that said "Seasons Retirement Community".

"Pretty wicked to use a retirement home as a cover up for drug operations. Almost as bad as a church that takes in sick orphans or some shit like that," Ryder got his explosives ready.

"No..." Sable shook her head, dropping them down by her side, "We can't do this, abort."

"We are not aborting, I need this. I owe Piper money. I got to work it off,"

Sable ran her hands through her brittle hair before rolling her eyes and glaring at Ryder, "Don't you know anything? You never pay Piper off!" Sable snapped, "You will always be in debt to him... WE will always be in debt to him."

Ryder watched the bus stop at a red light, he drew in a steady breath, "I don't like it either but... Gwen... I don't want her, too. I don't want him to make her," Ryder couldn't even say it, "She doesnt belong on the streets... she's only 14, Sable... she's so innocent I can't let him." he looked away briefly, Sable watching him sadly before he spoke louder and more firm this time, "We do what we've always done. We're Piper's Rats. We do what he says. That's it. Better them than me," Ryder lifted the remote explosive.

"No!" Sable jumped at it but it was too late, the back tired popped and the bus began to swerve. Sable jumped from the building, tumbling as she landed directly in front of the bus. She closed her eyes and channeled her energy, trying her best to stop the bus. It swerved up over a construction gerder, knocking it over the edge of the railing as it went spiraling down toward the water.

"Shit..." Ryder watched as the plan went horribly awry.

Sable felt every particle around her, it overwhelmed her as every think around her spun, it was like she could see nothing, but she knew where she was going, what she was after, and in a second, she felt the bus freeze, inches above the water, slowly she straightened it out and brought it back up, setting it down as gently as possible on the street. She felt dizzy from the exhaustion. Catching her breath, she sifted through the letters and numbers that surrounded her, nothing was complete. She heard Ryder call to her. Finally she snapped back into it and watched as Jandu exited the vehicle. Afraid nurses got on their phones dialing 911, some of the seniors were injured and had fallen from their seats in the scuffle. Sable sprinted off down the alley way, trying her best to get away without attacking Jandu. If his gang ever found out who had injured or killed their men, it would start an all out war and Piper didn't want that. Neither did Sable. She just had to disappear. She jumped onto the ladder and began climbing up a building with incredible speed, but the part of the ladder came dislodged from the wall, she hung on for dear life. Jandu fired gun shots, all of which she stopped dead in their tracks as they fell to the alley below.

The Devil had seen the whole thing.

Matt Murdock blinked in wonder as he heard and 'saw' what happened. '
Did that girl just...? She must be a mutant.' he thought with awe. When he heard the gunshots he jumped down behind Jandu "Leave her alone." he growled, stepping forward slowly in case Jandu was going to try something. He wasn't sure who the girl was, but she had clearly saved the seniors' lives somehow....he would figure out how later. Matt clenched his jaw. These mutant street rats were getting to be a big pain in his ass.

Maddie heard the call. "We have a bus full of seniors coming in with head wounds from a bus wreck. We need every available bed open, NOW!" her boss roared. Maddie began discharging like crazy, readying the emergency and trauma areas for the seniors and any other victims of the crash. She wondered if any of it had to do with 'The Devil of Hell's Kitchen" or "Mutant street rats". Maddie frowned as she thought about it. There did seem to be a slight increase in crime recently. She had never met a mutant before, at least not to her knowledge. She suddenly wondered if the masked man was a mutant. So many weird things going on in this city....

Maddie's attention was snapped back to the current situation by an elderly lady, crying as she came in the door on a stretcher with a large gash to the forehead. Maddie ran to help the woman, sensing she was in a lot of pain and very frightened. Maddie did her best to soothe the woman as she performed stitches and placed a large bandage on the wound, hoping that whatever was out there doing this would be stopped, and soon.

Jandu swung at the masked man angrily, annoyed by this intruder.

[Feel free to autohit and god mode him and kick his ass]

Sable was taken aback by the low, grumbling voice. Who was this man? Sable had heard stories of a masked man messing up some of the heists the rats were involved in, but she had never seen him before. Usually, Sable was so quite in her dealings that no one ever heard a thing, but that whole fiasco had been pretty loud. It must have summoned him somehow. She was grateful. She had a chance to escape. Seeing Ryder at the top of the building, he reached for her. She began to climb up the half hanging on ladder reaching up as much as she could toward him, but the last old, rusty screws broke and she felt herself falling down from the three story building. Ryder reached for her desperately, but it was too late. She fell, landing back first on the asphalt. She felt dizzy, everything was spinning, she closed her eyes and quickly slipped away into unconsciousness.

Murdock ducked the swing, swiftly kicking the man on his butt and punching him a few times to knock him out. No wonder he had a gun, he was a crappy fighter.

With the man taken care of, Murdock turned to chase the girl but saw her unconscious on the pavement. He jogged to her, leaning down and listening to her vitals. She seemed to be alright. There was something....different about her. Probably due to her abilities. He examined her for injuries but couldn't find anything major. Matt looked to the guy on top of the roof. "She should be okay. I'm not going to hurt her. But just know that if I have to choose between the safety of my city and your lives....I will choose my city. I saw what happened down there, and I don't know who you work for, but you can plan on seeing me again if you pull any more of that crap." he warned, not as a threat but simply to be blunt. They would undoubtedly run into one another again. Matt looked back down at the girl. She was so small. It was so unfair that someone who looked so young was so clearly wrapped up in the wrong crowd. Matt wondered why she tried to look like a guy. If it weren't for his own senses, he wouldn't have known her gender at all. He was curious about this strange girl, but decided he should split, and so he did.

Meanwhile, Maddie was still in the ER patching people up from the bus accident. It was one of those tiring nights where she had to turn off her emotions to keep from going crazy. When there was a tiny lull, Maddie slipped into a janitor's closet and closed her eyes for a few minutes, focusing on her own heartbeat and slowing it down. It was a trick that Stick had taught her many years ago, and as much as Maddie hated to admit it, the ability was incredibly helpful when it came to controlling her powers.

Maddie took three deep breaths and released them. She could feel the emotions around her die down to a murmur, and she mentally placed them on a backburner to keep them out of her way so she could do her job. When Maddie opened her eyes, she felt better, and walked back into the ER with a new gusto, ready to help more people and not get dragged down by their pain and suffering this time. Instead she used their pain and suffering as further motivation to help them.

In the darkness of her sleep, Sable could see their eyes, watching her. From every dark corner of the alley ways, street signs, and under passes they were watching her. She could feel their eyes pressing upon her, judging her, entering her soul. She felt suffocated, scattered, being sliced into little pieces. Gasping, Sable sat up in her bed abruptly, her heart pounding in her chest. She clutched her chest trying to brief slowly, her shaggy, layered hair in a ruffled mess on her head. Looking around she realized she was in a hospital room. She had to leave, she had to get out of there. First, she had to assess her wounds. Looking down at her body, she didn't see any scratches. Being a mutant, she healed quickly. Looking at her arms she saw a bloody bandage which had been covering a bullet wound of hers. The skin however was already almost healed around the stitches. Sable grunted as she pulled at the stitching to get it out.

Maddie entered the room to check on Sable's progress. When she saw the girl trying to pull out her stitches, she got upset. "Whoa whoa stop! You're gonna rip the wound open a-" she stopped when she saw that it was almost healed. Maddie got closer to the girl to get a better look at the site. "Let me take another look. Calm down. You're safe. No one is gonna hurt you." She said. Maddie grabbed a pair of gloves and smiled softly at the small girl.

Sable jumped when the nurse spoke to her. She immediately let go of the stitches, her eyes wide and brow wrinkled in fear. She watched the young woman in front of her cautiously, ready to elude her whenever she got the chance, and to leave. She didn't want to be caught up in this, When would Piper send someone for her... if at all?

Maddie smiled again at the girl. "Can you tell me your name?" She asked, getting closer and looking at the stitches. "You're an incredibly fast healer. You must be a mutant. I am too." She said, trying to comfort the girl so she wouldn't run. Maddie turned on her abilities again quickly. She sensed fear...but not of Maddie. "You're safe here, I won't let anyone get you. This is my ER. No one comes in or out unless I say so." She explained.

The word mutant rang loudly in her head, it shook her to the core. She stared at the woman. Surely she wasn't a mutant, she was probably lying to get what she wanted out if Sable. Still Sable figured a name wouldn't hurt... It wasn't her real one anyway. First, she had to know if this woman really was a mutant. As the nutse talked, Sable looked around at the machine that were hooked up to her, then the hospital room. Her large, bug-like eyes slowly and smoothly scanned the room as she assessed her surroundings, looking for signs of police monitoring or entry at any point. She saw some papers but quickly saw they were just inventory sheets. She wanted to make sure they had nothing on her. As far as Hell's Kitchen was concerned, she didn't even exist.

Turning her head back toward the nurse as she finished, she scanned her up and down before wrinkling up the side of her lip in disbelief, "you're a mutant?" She questioned, eyebrows raised, "Really?" She shool her head, deeling her unmanagable hair sway over her, "Prove it."

Maddie chuckled. "I'm an empath. You don't believe me and you're feeling panicked and cautious. To tell you more I'd have to touch you. I can read your thoughts if I'm in contact with you skin." Maddie said. "I haven't done that in awhile though. Not all mutants have obvious powers. Some of us can pass unnoticed. Why are you so edgy and panicked? Is someone chasing you?"

Sable wasn't sure if she believed the nurse. L oShe could just be basing her opinion off of Sable's body language. Still, she knew it was best to respond, "No... I just," she looked down at her hands, running her wrists before starting, "don't like hospitals..." she swallowed.

Maddie narrowed her eyes. "No one does. But this runs deeper. Your emotions, they're seated somewhere...primal. You're afraid of this place because somehow, some way you sense it is a threat to your survival." She examined the girl. "Look, I'm not here to cross examine you. I'm not a lawyer. But I do need to make sure you're all right physically, and the sooner I do that, the sooner you're out of here. Mind if I take a look at your wounds?" she asked, not wanting to invade the girls personal space without asking.

Maddie already had on nitrile gloves. It was one of the perks to this job-nobody asked why you were wearing gloves if you were a nurse. Maddie wore gloves all the time. In fact, almost every inch of her skin was covered no matter what the weather, except her face. Generally it was safe to leave that bare, since people didn't usually go around touching faces. Maddie hadn't read someone's thoughts in so long, she wasn't sure what would happen the next time she used her powers. Stick had always told her that he could feel her presence in his mind when they had practiced. He said that most people probably couldn't, but trained soldiers who meditated, or anyone who was a mutant and had powers connected to the mind would probably be able to tell. Average people, though, they weren't as big of a threat.

Stick had always encouraged Maddie to touch people, use her powers, try to manipulate them. He was of the idea that if she got good enough she might be able to control minds, but Maddie never wanted that. When she and Stick got in an argument over it, that was when Stick realized why Maddie almost always resisted his teachings-she didn't want to be a soldier at all. He left the next day and vanished without a trace.

As Maddie looked down at her gloves she sighed and then looked back up at Sable, waiting for an answer to her question.

Sable nodded, the gap between her two front teeth was very visible at this point. Sitting back, she let her body go loose, signifying to the nurse that she could have control, something Sable did not like to give away. People treating Sable like a child was something she was very used to. It didn't bother her at this point. She used it to her advantage. If she ever did get caught at crime scenes or seen in places she wasn't supposed to be, people dismissed a kid, and id it ever happened she was taken in and questioned, it was a lot easier to convince others of her innocence and lack of involvement.

She watched the nurse begin her work and asked, "My name is Sable..." she finally answered, still not convinced that this woman was a mutant herself, regardless, she was at least close to one if not herself, "And you're," she looked at the name tag, "Nurse Maddison." She looked up to the freckled nurse's pixie like face.

Maddie began examining the girl's wounds. Maddie nodded. "I am. But you can call me Maddie if you like. I rarely go by my full last name." She replied, removing stitches where necessary. "How did you get hurt like this? Were you caught up in that bus wreck?" She asked curiously. Something seemed different about this girl. Like she was young but very experienced. Something seemed off and wiser. Maddie bandaged the places where the girls stitches were. "You're a fast healer." She noted, impressed.

When Maddie was finished she stood back and looked at the girl again. "You're free to go when you like. I'll get your discharge filed." She stated.

Sable explained, "Kind of..." She shrugged, "I was trying to keep it from crashing," she watched Maddie take out the stitches, "You can take them all out... The bullet whole will be closed by the next few days, and I don't plan on coming back here... ever," she looked around the room for her things, "Not that I didn't like you... you seem cool, and if you really are a mutant, I am happy to find another like me." she said with a small smile, pulling at the corners of her lips, "So... thanks," she said as she began to put on her shoes. She was surprised the police were just going to let her go and not question her. This was rare, but she wasn't gonna ask.

Maddie blinked. "You were trying to keep it from crashing?" She sounded impressed. She figured the girl was pretty powerful, if that were the case, but she refused to ask what the girl's powers were. Maddie considered it to be bad manners.

Suddenly a police officer entered the room. "Ms. Maddison we need to speak to your patient here. We heard she was involved with the bus incident and we are questioning everyone involved just in case." The officer spoke authoritatively. "You were eavesdropping?" Maddie asked with a frown. "Just to make sure every base is covered ma'am. We apologize for any inconvenience." He replied. The officer seemed genuine to Maddie, but somewhere deep she sensed something....off about him. It was hard to tell just from his emotions. He had them under a tight leash. "Well that would be up to my patient, not me." Maddie said, turning to look at Sable's face to see if she would comply.

Sable had done this before, talking her way out of things was her specialty, as was retaining innocence. She looked from Maddie to the police officer. She didn't know how much he knew, either way, she would play it dumb to the bitter end, "It's fine... what do you want to know officer?" she asked rubbing her eyes, her gestures and body movements suddenly becoming much more juvenile allowing herself to appear more child-like.

Maddie noticed the shift in body language and smiled just a tad. She stepped back and made herself look busy with paperwork. The officer straightened/ "Just a few things. First, did you see the accident or what caused it? Secondly, were you involved in it in any way? And lastly, I'm gonna need to get a statement from you saying what you saw and did immediately before and during the accident." The officer-his name badge pronounced him "Evans"- pulled out a notebook and pen and was poised to take notes.

Maddie was watching and 'feeling' the room the entire time. She felt nothing but cool indifference from the officer at that moment. She wondered if he even cared at all. But there was something...contrived about it. Maybe not that he was faking so much as he didn't have to. He genuinely didn't seem to care about the accident....almost as if he weren't supposed to. It didn't make sense at all to Maddie. Usually when she came in contact with officers, they felt angry or sad, sometimes helpless about accidents. Sometimes guilty for not being there. But never indifferent. And Maddie would have expected guilt for feeling indifferent from the officer if he were just tired or exhausted, but it wasn't there. The red-haired nurse frowned at her paperwork, pretending to misread something to cover up her confusion at the officer's feelings.

(Do you got a plan for something that's going to happen with this officer? Something he's hiding? :D )

Sable was overwhelmed by the large influx of questions that came so quickly. It was almost like he was trying to get to something more important. Shrugging slightly, she stammered as she got her thoughts together, "Well... I... uh" she paused wrapping her arms around herself in order to appear smaller and unassuming, "I was walking along the street when I saw what looked like one of the back tires blow or something because it kinda popped up in the air." She took a breath, stringing her words together quickly as witnesses usually do, especially when they witnessed something they find shocking or upsetting, "I watched it start to swerve and it came right at me. I tried to get out of the way and it clipped me. The nurse said I am okay though, no broken bones or serious injuries." Sable looked at the name tag, "Is that what you were looking for Officer Evans?"

Evans scribbled notes, looking almost bored then looked up at the girl. "Yes miss. That'll do. I'll take that as your statement. You have a good night." He closed his notebook and tipped his hat, almost hurrying away. Someone had started talking over his radio and he seemed in a hurry to get out of there.

Maddie watched officer Evans leave. She frowned at Sable. "He literally didn't care about a word you said." She told the girl bluntly. "That's so strange....." And suddenly Maddie felt a huge wave of pure, unadulterated panic. Coming straight from officer Evans, just before he left her range.

Maddie straightened immediately. "Something's wrong." She followed officer Evans out the door and caught him getting in his police car. Still panicking.

Maddie waved for a cab.

(Feel free to follow. And yes I have plans.)

Sable shrugged, "Then we have something in common," she chuckled. She could care less whether the cop cared. The less attention the cop paid to her, the more likely she was to get out of there a free girl. Maddie's attitude quickly changed though as she stated,

"Something's wrong,"

And hurried out of the room. Overcome by curiosity, Sable swung her legs around the side of the bed and quickly put her dirty, high top converse back on, tying them so fast, her fingers almost became tangled around the laces. Leaning onto her feet, she hurried out into the hall way and saw Maddie calling a cab. There was a a cop car in the distance zooming away. Once having taken a second to assess the situation, Sable jogged over to Maddie who was currently getting in and slid in next to her, looking ahead to see if she could spot the cop's car.
