If you have never done it before, I strongly recommend joining one first. I've got a few open to newbies around.
But if you aren't going to learn the easy way, you'll need to choose the right system - FATE Accelerated and RISUS are both free, flexible, and easy to use. Especially RISUS. Good for beginners.
