"This place has an impenetrable history. These old walls are built with older stones. Every stone has a story... But not every story has a happy ending."
-- Olive Silverlock, Gotham Academy #1
Location Information
GOTHAM ACADEMY
NOTABLE LOCATIONS
North Hall
The North Hall is the most infamous and ominous location of Gotham Academy. Closed to all students and faculty due to numerous arson incidents, students found roaming its halls receive an immediate suspension or expulsion depending on the nature of the visit. Numerous urban legends state that the ghosts of dead Cobblepots roam the halls of the North Hall, waiting for a soul to arrive. The structural integrity of the North Hall has further deteriorated due to an arson incident involving Detective Club member Olive Silverlock and a scuffle between Killer Croc and Batman many years earlier.

Cemetery
Adjacent to Gotham Academy, the cemetery is home to the Cobblepot crypt and the graves of numerous Cobblepots, the most notable of which is Millie Jane Cobblepot. Ostracized by her family in the mid-1800s due to her desire to expose the illegal Cobblepot business, she was locked in isolation within what is now the girl’s dormitory which had led to her suicide. Students say that her ghost still haunts the cemetery, vengeful for what her family had done to her. Though these tales have been disproven and all evidence debunked, the cemetery still brings students unease.

Swamp
The swamp, though possessing an ominous air, is surprisingly a common location for students to visit for recreational purposes. Situated near the academy, though there are still some urban myths surrounding the area, students come to the swamp for peace and to relax.

Tunnel System
A series of tunnels that most students and even faculty have no knowledge of, Gotham Academy’s tunnel system is expansive. The Detective Club’s main road of transportation, a series of tunnels exist within the walls and under school grounds. One could access any room that exists within academy grounds, though there is also a troubling quality to the tunnel system: it connects to Gotham Academy’s sister building, Arkham Asylum.
