PART01
--WELCOME TO GOTHAM ACADEMY
Rain pelted the aging Gotham Academy. The time was 1:25 PM, yet clouds hung over the city -- blocking almost all sunlight from reaching the ground. It was another gloomy day, which wasn't shocking to residents of Gotham. Apart of the occasional cars whizzing through the streets, the city seemed empty. None dared to tread through the oncoming storm, instead residents stayed inside; making the best of their afternoon.

Gotham Academy was no exception. The first day of school year had begun, resulting in organized chaos. New students frantically ran up and down the halls, trying to get their bearings in the rather expansive campus. Returning students assigned nanny duty were no better. Stressfully, they searched the halls for their assigned student. Morning classes had caused both nanny and new student split off, resulting in most new students unsure of where they should be headed. The ensuing chaos wasn't helped by the school bell ringing throughout the campus.

Briiiinnnggg!

It signified lunchtime had come, leading students to the cafeteria. The cafeteria was one of the largest sections of Gotham Academy. To new students, there was much to take in. The ceiling stood two storeys high, adorned with a dozen chandeliers attached to rooftop supports. What laid on the green, rugged flooring was rather simple. Long, wooden old-fashioned tables were sprawled across the cafeteria, each having six wooden chairs surrounding each of them. To the sides of the room, food was placed buffet-style, all of it self-serve. Today was the typical first day Gotham Academy lunch: belgian waffles, scrambled eggs, homestyle fries to name some...what was served was more akin to a breakfast than a lunch, though the quality of such items were always the highest during the first day, which caused the students to give little complaints.

A few minutes had past and the majority of the students had finally begun to flood the cafeteria. Whether it be by pure luck or prior knowledge of the location, students stumbled into the room for their first meal. Some of the early-birds had already begun to sit down, chatting with any friends they've managed to find. Conversation was typically based on how the summer was, their mood, the weather, and occasionally, some idle gossip of the latest strange Gotham occurrences.

Far above the gloom-filled skies of Gotham did the guttural sound of roaring thunder threaten to boil over in a blaze of electric blue as rain and cold raged furiously against the decrepit city. A single hand haplessly gripped the hood of a jet-black coat, Mike's visage blinded by the rain's frenzied assault which left him equal levels soaked and antsy. Looking up, the teen winced as a further on-pour of rain assaulted his face. Yet even through the blindness, the towering campus of Gotham Academy stretched into view, the enormous complex twisting into the skylight with majestic radiance, a stark contrast to the otherwise misery and depression that permanently settled about the city, like a hungry parasite that was unwilling to let go.

Eyes roaming emphatically, Mike noticed a large collection of like-minded students haphazardly darting about the grounds, some already drenched in defeat from the march to the Campus, even more bristling hopelessly against the rain as they fled from buses and cars alike. Many appeared lost and confused, first years Mike guessed, scrambling for the nearest piece of cover visible. Others, like himself, walked with a purposeful stride to their intended destination. As the ringing echo of the Academy bells washed over the territory students of both experience and confusion redoubled their efforts to enter the buildings present.

An annoyed sigh closely followed Mike's feet as he pushed through the main door, water flooding from his coat to the already puddled corridor. Absently and out of habit he adjusted the cap on his head once, it's purpose of keeping his head dry complete, he removed it with a forlorn glance towards the cafeteria, the corridor seemingly stretching on for eternity. It was an odd thing being back after so long, it almost felt different. Somehow, maybe it was.

Kneeling down and shoving the cap into his bag, Mike went on to spend an embarrassing several minutes searching for his own locker - a valiant attempt to avoid lugging his portable water-producing jacket all over the grounds - one failed given that when the locker was finally found, and the article of clothing locked away for the greater good, it'd already emptied most of the carried rain upon the corridor. Resigned, and with no small feeling of anticipation, Mike departed to the cafeteria, a shining beacon of hope for most students, given the flavorful aroma sweeping about the halls.

Entering the immense dining hall, it was unsurprising to find a colossal body of students congregating within. The breakfast line stretched across the ground and tables were rapidly conquered. Running his right hand throughout his hair, Mike cursed his own luck at being late and contended himself with sitting on the nearest empty table, tucked away near the far reaches of the hall. Though he had food hidden away in his partially drenched bag, it was clear he was hopelessly unprepared for the first day back. Making a mental note to text his aunt an earnest 'Thank you' for ensuring he wouldn't starve to death, the teenager entertained himself with examining the other students in the hall, subconsciously smiling at the palpable panic of those here for the first time.

The time was the absolute best time of the day. Lunch. The rain was pelting down in such a way that absolutely nobody was safe from it. Was this an issue? Maybe for some students. Melody, in a moment of absolute scatterbrained-ness, had left her jacket in her locker this morning rather than carry it. The rain had soaked right through her uniform and she knew with absolute certainty that she would be wet until the moment she went to her dorm. This didn't bother her too much though. She had made peace with this fact and was using it as an opportunity to dash from puddle to puddle on her way to the cafeteria. More than once she had splashed other students by accident, including a boy that she remembered from last year that was known for not being the nicest person around. He retaliated by shoving her into the same puddle. She just laughed, picked herself up, kicked more puddle water his way and kept on going. She hadn't even really realized that he had done it out of malice.

Reaching the cafeteria she shook her hair, arms and both legs like a dog and pulled off her blazer, draping it over her arm before she actually entered the room. The smells that hit her when she stepped into the room almost had her fall to her knees. It smelt absolutely glorious. She dashed towards the lineup and helped herself to a little bit of each offered item much to the dismay of someone behind her. By the time she had reached the end of the food she had a heaping plate with a banana balanced on the top. She started to eat what she could as she navigated through the cafeteria looking for a spot to sit. There was a table of people who sat silently, all occasionally shooting glances at each other as if wondering how to start a conversation. Melody guessed that they were new and considered sitting there so that she could get a conversation going. Ultimately she decided that it wasn't really her job to try and friendship match and she continued onwards to find a seat.

Despite that previous thought, Melody decided that she was going to sit with the dude that was sitting on his own near the back of the cafeteria. She slid into a chair and placed her now half as full as it was plate in front of her. "How was your break? Ready to be back? I wish the break was longer because... well... school is lame. But it's also nice to be back ya know? At least for the fact that there's so much more freedom living in the dorms. I mean, sure, we don't have to cook or anything like that but it's nice that they're not always around you know? And the food here is soo good. Has to be my favourite part. Certainly not the classes." She stuffed a forkful of belgian waffle in her mouth.
Archon Archon

Gotham City typical weather, Gotham Academy Academy typical behavior, its different being on the opposite end of it this time, this time last year Jae-Jax was the one running around frantically looking for his nanny and granted he was doing the same thing, only this time-not being late for class.

Once the lunch bell sounded, Jae-Jax threw on his blue bomber jacket over his uniform, grabbed his bag, slung it over his shoulder and made his way outside. He stopped under the archway, “Look at that-The design. You think they renovate this place, this thing could collapse on me maybe. That be a great story to hear.” Jae’s mind went on a completely different tangent, something about how the fact that the school, despite its numerous donations just is lazy to fix the school or something like that. He would’ve been lost in thought for a little bit longer if it hadn’t been for a student bumping into him as they made their way to the cafeteria. “Ohhh-Right lunch.” Jae thought and took stepped off out of his cover and into the pouring rain. He did enjoy the rain, it was soothing in a sense, even if it was pouring, it was still enjoyable, so Jae-Jax put his arms out and just walked around for a bit, ignoring the weird looks he got.

Jae eventually put his arms down and made his way towards the cafeteria, he didn’t run in a panic like most kids did, for one he heard his mothers voice saying, “Don’t run in the rain Jae-Jax or I will make you run back home and then see what happens!” and two, he wasn’t sure how many puddles or holes be in his way, it happened a few times last year, one wrong step, then SPLAT, right into the puddle. He took this time to look at the different students around him, kids pushing each other into puddles, others running, his former nanny Blake-Jae froze, it was her! It was Blake! “BLAAAAKE!!” he shouted out, and forgoing his mother’s advice ran over to her, then wrapping her up in a hug in front of the cafeteria entrance, ”Blake!!! I missed you so much!” he let go of the girl and smiled, “It’s good to see you again! How are you?”

Jae-Jax found who he was looking for, now-now the adventures could begin.

Name: Danni Grayson
Location: Outside School => School Cafeteria (corner table)

Danni sighed as she got out of the car, turning back to look at her Father. She forced a smile to appear on her face. "Well. Here goes."

"Hey, Kiddo, have fun, okay?" Dick said, smiling at his daughter. "Call if you need anything. Like if you get lonely, or sick, or don't know how to tie your shoes--"

"Daaaaaad!" Danni said, groaning as she slung her backpack over her shoulder. The pitter patter of the rain on the car roof was comforting. She loved the rain.

"Hey, I Kid. Go get 'em, tiger. And remember, I'm right on the other end of the phone." Dick smiled, and Danni leaned in to kiss him on the cheek.

"Love you, Dad!" She said, then closed the door and trudged up to the campus Cafeteria with a sigh. She made sure, every now and then, to take a heavier step in one of the larger puddles, resulting in a very satisfying splashing sound. She adjusted her shirt and gloves then ran a hand through her messy, fiery red hair. The humidity always made it frizz and become a most unruly monster.
Inside the cafeteria, she spotted the buffet and grinned. The Belgian waffles were her favorite.

She wasted no time in grabbing a pair of waffles, some butter, syrup, whipped cream, and strawberries. She also grabbed some orange juice and a couple of sausages. A good breakfa-- lunch. A good lunch.

There was a table in the corner that was devoid of all human presence, so she decided to sit there. She unslung her backpack from her shoulders and pulled out a book, opening to a bookmarked page and starting to read

//CASSIDY RIVERA //LOCATION: CAFETERIA //X
Even though he was really tired, the first day of school was actually one of those few days when Cassidy tried to pay attention in class, just to get glances and ideas for the upcoming syllabus to each lesson, as he would later have to painstakingly create answers to different pop quiz tests and whatnot. Despite his high energy in class however, he was quick to practically melt the moment the bell rung. He never wasted any time jumping out of class, having packed his belongings a couple minutes ahead of time; he practically whizzed by other students, navigating the halls like a seasoned veteran.
Walking to the cafeteria to Cassidy wasn't anything special. even in the pouring rain. Rain was common in Gotham after all, and a compact umbrella with such shitty weather was a painful must (especially to someone like Cass, who carried a laptop and expensive-ish hacking gear with him).
In a very casual way, Cassidy found himself strolling through the chaos of school-children under the protection of the umbrella dome.
For once- his sleeves were covering his wrists and his tie wasn't out of place, while this wasn't full dress up mode, it was still more than usual. He didn't want to look like a complete slob, and he scowled slightly as he felt a bit of water get into his shoes. Gross.
When he saw the cafeteria, Cassidy put the umbrella back into its' place and walked to the doors.
He quietly snorted after seeing some kid trip on the stairs. It was typical to see newbies bumbling around, but Cassidy figured that soon enough their nerves and excitement would be replaced with a strong contempt, much like his own. That or exhaustion and faked happiness.
He took to unconsciously looking through the crowd, hoping to catch the sight of the blond head of his sister, Victory, just to see how she was doing. Sadly it seemed like he couldn't spot her. Cassidy sighed morosely and checked his phone for the time, before remembering that he had to 'nanny' one of the new guys after seeing their earlier texts for plans to meet up, his name was Liam something-something. They already met before and Cassidy had to admit that the dude was pretty attractive, by his standards anyways - although when it came to personality, Cassidy couldn't be sure yet.
Walking at a languid pace, Cassidy saw the head of someone blond, but he quickly realized it wasn't his sister and in slight, personal embarrassment he found himself bolting the other way around.
That's when he saw the kid he had to babysit, "Hey Liam, are you doing fine around the school so far?"
He hoped it didn't sound too robotic, for most other things Cass would probably ditch the kid, but the smart part of his brain done what it did best and argued it out. 'You wouldn't want the guy you're rooming with for the year to be upset at you, besides why give the teachers another reason to hate you?' and Cass was inclined to listen to the smart side of him for once.
'... and no, i don't say sorry, and no, i ain't perfect, but i am the man..'

Senior year.

Valerie was never the one to ever expect her bloody self being here; a troublemaker prone to doing the most utterly reckless shit, and frankly she didn’t mind it at all. She was proud of her apparent nature that she managed to develop; an irrational, odd mother to some as she liked to acknowledge it, and in her final year, she planed to make it an exceptionally good one. Go out with a bang everytime right?

The rain continued to pour its rage with every second that the storm approached. Chaotic, she thought, but with every storm comes beauty in its nature, and frankly she didn’t mind being the storm either; it brought her some comfort in her inability to remain tamed. Looking at her new roommate still sleeping in her corner of the room, she lugged her black backpack over her shoulder, adjusting herself in the mirror near the entrance of the dorms. Her hair had grown immensely long since softball finished in May—almost supernatural if you want to call it that. But even then, no matter what length, as long as it was black it fit her just right. It was such an inviting colour for the norm of this city. She left the room a bit early, carrying a clear umbrella to protect her faux fur coat, as her outfit today consisted of all black. Grunge was her new thing for this upcoming winter, and man it suited her; an inciting look for her edgy, paper cut mouth. She lit a “ciggy wiggly” as her beloved friend Jae liked to call them, and strolled down towards the main entrance of the school. All she really needed was a cup of coffee and she’ll be just like her dad; a splitting image in fact. She stood outside admiring the new freshman and the returnees of the school, taking in the fact that these were the people she grew up with for four years. Her glares as one of the mere OG’s remaining accidentally made them feel intimidated, as they should be. However, she was just bored and in fact felt..

She felt old.

“Damn these kids being all young and shit...” She mumbled, puffing another air of smoke as she swapped for a fresh one. “Where the bloody hell is thi—“ Upon mention of this lovely boy’s name, Jae-Jax screamed hers instead, almost causing her to drop her cigarette in the morning.

“BLAAAAKKKEE!”

“Yes love i’m right bloody here..” She steadied the umbrella with her hand as the conjoined two wobbled a bit for balance. Once Jae pulled away, Blake pulled away to admire her son. He indeed was a boy growing up with troubles, and it was only fair that. She’d look out for his dumbass before anything worse happens. The natural lopsided grin reappeared in no time and she came back to her motherly self. “So are we gonna go inside and eat like we always do, or are we gonna stand here in the pouring rain while you’re soaked?” She turned her head about 90 degrees left to blow out some smoke from her lungs, a tiny cough wanting to emerge from her bowel of lungs; she kept it in though because that would have looked weird, and she didn’t want to look weird.

Zach kicked the side stand open from the bottom of his bike. As he would start walking over to the entrance of the school, Zach looked over at his watch, realizing he was about 10 minutes late.

"Great.."he would say in a growly voice.

All the classes were practically the same as last year, same teachers, same classrooms..nothing eye-catching or anything special.

Everything went by in a breeze..other then lunch. As Zach walked closer and closer to the cafeteria, the footsteps and talking got louder, and clearer.

He stepped into the cafeteria, with the smell of food instantly blasting him, completely taking him off guard.

Zach started walking over to the side of the large room, looking at all the food that Gotham Academy had to offer for todays lunch. After waiting in like for a minute or so, it was his turn.

Out of all the delicious and amazing smelling dishes, Zach only took a cup of coffee with him. "This'll do" he thought to himself, as he started walking over to the almost empty lunch table across the room, only accompanied by 2 other random freshmen..

As he sat down, he noticed the 2 kids eyeballing him like crazy, which made him feel slightly uncomfortable. "Fuck off.." Zach thought to himself as he started staring right back at them, simultaneously laying down his backpack on the floor next to him..This for some apparent reason frightened the kids, causing them to quickly pack up and scurry off into the crowd..
"Fucking losers..." he said, before sipping his coffee..."This year's gonna suck ass..".

"Mom, why were there around... 6 missed calls from you? I know you are worried but sti- No mom, I wasn't. Ugh, I know I know." Liam talked on his phone, pushing through the people in the hall. His bright orange hoodie made him stand out, and complemented his hair. "Mom, I kinda need my phone to get through this building, cause it's a fucking night- Ok, sorry for saying that. Now, I was saying that- Mom, I am not trying to get away from you." Liam felt ashamed for the lie he just told his mom, but he couldn't just flat out tell her. "Mom, I need to go. Alright, bye. Yeah, love you too." The last part was very silent, as to not attract attention.

Closing the call, his map opened up, showing where the cafeteria was. Navigating the halls, he finally entered, sighing at the smell of food. Looking at the selection of food, Liam chose a few things : a sandwich, and a soda. Standing in line, he took a quick look around to see if there was anyone he recognized. He saw Danni at a table in the far back. At least that was a place he could go. Buying his selection of food, Liam wanted to dart off to where Danni was, but a familiar voice spoke up.

"Oh, hey... you." Liam struggled to remember his name. It was his colleague, but for Liam, it was more of a nanny. "Yeah, I'm doing fine. I found the map of the whole building online." He flashed his phone, holding the tray with one hand. "I wanted to kinda go over to the corner table to eat." Liam wanted to turn, but remember that would've been kind of rude. "Uhm, do you want to join?" His eyes looked into Cass's, a weird custom he picked up growing up, and does without realizing.

Jae-Jax looked at his ‘mother’, she was an important figure in his life, she was his way of getting actual guidance around this city considering the only person he trusted besides her was all the way in Korea. Jae had a little frown on his face seeing the smoke, “I know its not my place-but…” he paused, “Just be careful around the ciggy wiggly.” Jae said, at this point, he was a broken record, he would say be careful and she would say she would be, and then light up another one, but she had gotten better-at least what from what Jae saw, “Yeah! Sorry for keeping us,” he bowed his head a little bit before running over the cafeteria door and holding it open for Blake.

Once inside Jae’s eyes made immediate contact with the buffet, “Food~! Woo!” his smile returned and he made his way, making sure Blake wasn’t too far away. Jae only grabbed a little, just some eggs and homestyle fries to tie him over, and he was half expecting to hear, ‘Jae if you don’t eat more, I will walk up and make you grab some’ or something around that, it was just how Blake worked. So, to appease the possibly angry mother, he grabbed a waffle, no harm there- At least he hoped.

Jae located a table towards the middle of the ginormous room. He plopped down and waited for Blake to join him. Once the two got settled he turned to face her, “So~ How was your summer? Do any cool stuff?” he asked with his signature smile before cutting into his waffle and taking a bite. Jae-Jax took around the room, noticing some of the cliques from last year, nanny’s taking to their kiddos or just anyone he remembered, “Is it weird to think that last year, you were that same nanny looking for me to make sure, that you know, I wasn’t dead.” Jae chuckled and looked back at Blake, he missed this, and it was great to be back.

Name: Danni Grayson
Location: School Cafeteria (corner table)

Danni absent-mindedly took a bite out of her waffle as she read. She turned the page and glanced up, spotting a familiar redhead in the crowd. Liam. She swallowed and scooted over, sliding to the very corner next to the wall to make room for whoever was going to come and sit next to her. She turned back to her book, but not before shooting him a smile.
Liam was one of her best friends, meaning he was basically her only friend. As nice as Danni was, she really didn't have anyone else she could consider a "friend." Sure, people were friendly, but that wasn't the same thing.
The only two people that she could really talk to, about almost anything, were Liam and her father. It was a very small circle.

Cassidy felt great relief when the Liam said he found a map of the school online- that meant that Cassidy was free to do whatever instead of babysitting him further. He was ready to swerve away, but that relief that he felt earlier was soon squashed with a bucket of apprehension and excitement as Liam casually invited Cassidy to sit at his table.
Jesus, wasn't Cassidy the hardened veteran sophomore? Why was he reacting like this?
In all truth, Cassidy usually ate alone, or with Zach sometimes (but mostly the latter was off doing other stuff), so he wasn't really used to being asked to sit with people. And as it stands, Cassidy usually ate outside, preferring being on his own as to spending it eating with others. The stare that was practically pinning him down was no comfort either, Cassidy felt mildly intimidated but tried to steel his nerves and not let it show.
He shrugged nonchalantly, "Sure, if I'm not disturbing your friend or anything,", he looked over at the table Liam pointed to and saw a pretty redheaded girl, were they cousins or something?
He waved his hand at her with what he hoped looked like a pleasant smile.
Did he even have food in his backpack?

She sat near the back of the class, biding her time. Her eyes were fixated on a small sketchbook, her hand busily scribbling away various doodles with small notes attached to them. Sofie was by no means a good artist, in fact she was likely the worst artist out of everyone nearby. However, it was an activity she partook in to escape boring situations -- her homeroom teacher's "welcome back!" speech was one of them.

A few minutes passed, and eventually the angelic ringing of a schoolbell played through the loudspeakers. Sofie's narrowed eyes relaxed and her lips curled into a smile, relishing in her temporary freedom. It was lunch which -- while good food was one good aspect of it -- keeping in touch with her friends took more importance. The cafeteria was a place she would meet up with familiar faces. Whether it be Cassidy, Valerie, or anyone else, Sofie would chat them up for the latest gossip and any ideas for future club events. The first day of school was no exception, and in fact reconnecting with friends on this day was far more important than any other day. It begged the question, however. Who should she seek?

It was a question that rang through Sofie's head as she now rushed through the busy halls of Gotham Academy. There was Valerie, her second-in-command and pseudo-caretaker. Discussion of opening the club to new members and their future plans would go on with her. But, at the same time there was Cassidy, who was the reason the tunnel system was even rediscovered in the first place. Discussion of gossip and new secrets would go on with him.

Who should I find who should I find. Cassidy, Val...Cassidy, Val...Cassi-

"EEEK-!"

Paying no attention to the path ahead of her, Sofie's feet tripped at the base of the stairs. Immediately losing her balance, her futile attempts to control herself only made things worse, propelling herself into the floor. Raising her arms in front of her, she softened the blow at least slightly. Though she still went down with a loud thud, causing her to make an audible yelp in pain.

Things went rather silent after that. A chattering hall hushed, observing the girl in pain. Some continued on with their day, while others formed a circle around her, observing her as if she were some animal in a zoo. "Owwww..." she groaned, the left side of her face scrunching up in pain. Pain radiated throughout her body. Her elbows, her knees, her chest...Sofie felt as if she'd been rammed by a truck. Though, she persevered.

Rolling onto her back, Sofie slowly lifted herself into a sitting position. Every small motion was accompanied by a stinging sensation, though the girl tried to ignore this. Her gaze first was directed on her arms. Small scuffs on her new uniform -- not good. It then moved down to her knees -- bruises. That wasn't good either. Eventually, it moved to the crowd forming around her and, instantly, her feelings of pain seemingly grew worse. Sofie's face flushed and she quickly stood, dusting herself off. She gave a nervous smile -- an obviously faked smile -- before she rushed off.

Stupidstupidstupid! Sofie thought rapidly, fishing out her phone. Tapping on both Valerie and Cassidy's contacts, she sent both of them an individual urgent text. A text of desperation.

"H-Hey! Where are you? o(〒﹏〒)o"

The first day of school went on without a hitch.

Liam smiled a little, looking towards Danni. "Nah, she's alright." Moving towards the table with Cassidy in tow. Casually looking around, he felt overwhelmed by the number of students around. Putting his tray on the table, he slid next to Danni. "Yo, didn't expect to find you here." Liam smiled, getting the tray in front of him. Turning his attention to Cass, his smile faded, still not remembering his name. "Yeah, Danni this is Cass. Cass is supposed to be my sort-of babysitter."

With that, Liam started to eat from his sandwich, occasionally looking in Cass's direction. "Huh... Don't you have something to eat?" He gently put his sandwich down, taking a sip out of his soda. "You can take a bite from mine. I'm not that hungry anyway." He slid the sandwich towards Cass, looking at him and casually winking, turning his attention to Danni. "Hey, what have you been up to lately. Haven't seen you in some time." Liam says, casually going closer to Danni, putting his head on her shoulder, to casually try and read what she's reading.

”Darling please, i’m not some nerd!” She chuckled light-heartedly, forgetting how much joy Jae brought into her life. Before going into the school, she ousted the cig and carried onwards inside. It was honestly wonderful how their relationship came about over the last year and she couldn’t be anymore grateful. Valerie followed Jae into the ever crowded building of teens varying in size and range, already her stomach growled in anticipation of food. She wanted waffles, and sausages; that’s all she ever had everytime it was brunch. She accompanied him within the line, eyeing his plate as he scarcely picked ut food for his plate. “Jae Jae, you bloody better eat more otherwise i’ll force you myself. I won’t hesitate bitch.” Vine quotes always got him to comply under her slightly harsh demeanour, and nothing changed since then. The boy grinned and so did she, once satisfied that they had a good amount of food. Val put apples on both their trays, and picked up a bottle of water for herself before leaving towards a table. They sat towards their normal spot, but something felt.. off.

Sofie. Shit.

“Shit Jae where’s Sofie! Did you tell her to meet us at the gate?” Blake grew in a slight worry as her other bestie’s whereabouts made her uneasy. The child was practically a clutz and she needed protection wherever she went; it as adorable but a bit hassling to deal with to say the least. regardless, the girl pulled out her phone and began spam calling her. When that didn’t work, she sent a bit too many texts telling her to meet them at their usual spot in the cafe, hoping she’d get the memo soon and it wouldn’t be some wild goose chase for her location.

Blake’s head focused on Jae’s words and she snickered. “Hunny we saw each other the summer and the only thing different is my hair. Secondly...”. She paused leaning forward, twirling her fork on the plate while she spoke. “I couldn’t be more grateful of your dumb butt and i’m going to miss you after graduation comes up. But apart from that, i want this year to be extremely great for the both of us...” Blake looked around a bit haphazardly until she noticed a very likeable and familiar face come into view. “We are getting ourselves dates by the end of this year. I will make sure of it.”

“And no i’m not looking at Micheal again.”

Content to sit idle in his solitude, Mike moved towards his pocket, a natural grasp for his phone, only to be interrupted by the surprisingly smooth arrival of a girl who radiated pure bubbling energy and excitement. Alarmed by the sudden introduction - and further rambling - Mike momentarily stared, but he wasn't so bereft of sociability that he didn't engage after the third rapid-fired question, even if his own confusion at the entire meeting was an an outstanding all time high, she must be the most fearless person in all of Gotham to just approach a stranger and start talking to them so freely, seriously, who did that?"

Nodding to her words in response, Mike, nonetheless took up the mantle of Gotham's signature social butterfly, "I... guess so?" He responded with a thoughtful gaze. "I mean, don't get me wrong it's nice to be back and all, but I'd still rather be home." Seeing as she was currently occupied with a face full of waffle, he felt it natural to press on. "But, y'know as much as I hate to admit it, I do kinda like the place. But what about you, do anything exciting over the holidays?" He inquired with ingenuity, placing the phone back in the depths of his pocket.

Melody half listened to him as she continued to plow through her food. She really did try her best to listen, but the food was just so good. She did catch that he kind of liked the place and something about him wishing he was still at home. She couldn't blame him really. Her leg bounced under the table as her unconscious effort to keep it from doing so failed. The rest of the food on the plate was gone in a flash and she pushed it away from the edge of the table so that she could set her arms onto the spot the plate once occupied. "Do anything exciting over the holidays?" Melody could have practically exploded. Her leg jostled even more vigorously under the table. She quickly ransacked her mind as to what she did over the summer break.

"Did I do anything exciting? Oh boy did I ever! We took the annual Day family trip to Switzerland to go skiing and snowboarding! We always go to Zermatt because a friend of my dad owns the place. I tried my first corkscrew but I really mucked it up. But! What doesn't kill you makes you stronger as Kelly Clarkson sings! It's actually kind of crazy that I even remembered that Kelly sang that. It's been years since that song was popular!" Melody shook her head and pinched herself. "Focus. You're off topic. Speaking of topics. The topic of names never came up. I'm Melody Day. Second year here. October baby so I'm a little younger than most of the people in my grade. But October is the best month to have a birthday in because Halloween am I right? Nice to meet you."

Than, it was like her spotlight senses kicked in. Someone was watching. She quickly glanced around the room, her still slightly wet hair swinging around and slapping herself in the face. Most of the people in there seemed to be doing their own thing. Eyes occasionally would flick over, but it was more of a normal eye movement than a deliberate glance over at their table. Except for one girl. She seemed to be looking at the table the two of them were sitting at. Melody turned back to her conversational partner and casually pulled the wet strands of hair out of her mouth and away from her face. "Psst. What are the odds that we sat at someone's table?" What were the chances that in a room full of this many people, one person would be looking at them. Practically impossible. There was no way she was looking at them. Maybe she was looking at someone else that had sat at her usual table. Archon Archon

“Sofie..?” Jae asked with a puzzled look on his face, “You wanted me to text Sofie..?” he blinked a few times, he probably- no he most definitely spaced out. He pulled out his phone and checked his recent messages with Blake, and sure enough, “Don’t forget to text Sofie!” with the response of, “Okaaay~!” Jae sighed and looked up at Blake a hint of red on the young mans face, “Heh... Um sorry about that..” he frantically swiped to Sofie’s contact he was given and begun to spam her with, “PLEASE HURRY BEFORE BLAKE KILLS ME! IM SORRY!” which then was followed by, “were in the middle of the cafeteria. i’msosorry.” He slid his phone away and looked back up at Blake.

“Don’t remind me that your graduating!! It’s the first day!! That sounds like a future Jae-Jax problem!” he said, covering his ears for effect. Blake was really his first true friend he had in Gotham and saying bye to her, it was something he didn’t really want to focus on, they had the entire year left, why focus on her graduating when they could focus on getting dates and other cool high school stuff. Upon hearing the name Micheal, Jae gave Blake a doubting stare, “You say that now, but you're probably thinking about him right now- You don’t have to lie to me about that mom! I’m just gonna protect you if he’s a jerk!” He shot a confident smile to her, but it just came out as his cutesy, normal Jae.

Jae-Jax continued to eat his brunch before looking back at Blake, “Hey um.. Whenever you get the chance, can you thank your dad again for me..?” He asked, his voice was quieter, “I know you didn’t have to take me in… But- It meant a lot when you did, and he was just… He was really nice and supportive… It was really cool to see that.” Jae’s volume slowly returned. “It kinda reminded me of you, I mean you guys are both supportive, loud, hard-working, and heck you even drink coffee the same way! So-“ Jae paused, “Yea! Just, thanks again for that! Also um.. Are you cool if I call you Val..? It just seems- more your style.”

Cassidy rummaged a bit in his backpack before realizing the only food in it was an old granola bar that he really didn't want to eat at the moment. He sighed morosely and was about to check on his list of deliveries for the fortnight (holy heck! It was only the start of the year and someone was already asking for tiny cognac bottles!) before Liam offered his food as sacrifice, with a wink that nearly made Cassidy scowl out of embarrassment. He felt the tips of his ears getting kind of warm. "Nah, it's fine, I'm not really that hungry," He said pushing the sandwich back. Cassidy wanted to say something else before he was cut off as he felt a buzz. He glanced at his phone, which flashed with a message from Sofie Vera, the girl that roped Cassidy into revealing some tunnels throughout the school last year. He sighed and smiled to himself unknowingly, typing a quick reply 'i'm at the cafeteria, with a bunch of gingers, shouldn't be hard to spot :V'
After he clicked send, Cassidy turned his face to the pair next to him to continue his earlier train of thought and ask a question, "So are you two siblings or something?". He observed their appearances as he noted that besides the hair color and eyes they didn't actually have that many similarities between them, which got him curious.

But I'm miserable when I am not exactly what you're wanting ...'

SEONA MUN
“Seona, hurry up.” Her brother frustratedly said, annoyed to no end that his little sister was taking her ol’ sweet time to get to Gotham Academy while he and Dean had to haul arse with her luggage. If Gotham was all sunshine and rainbows, perhaps Il-Seong would have been in good mood, alas, that was never the case.

A grin escaped Dean’s lips as he sighed, shaking his head at Il-Seong’s tempter, “You should know her by now. I don’t think she hears you. But, hey, if you need help with that bag, just say the word and I got it.”

Il-seong immediately glared at Dean’s proposition, gripping Seona’s luggage tighter. His eyes nearly read “over my dead body” and that was all it took for Il-seong to grumble under his breath to near silence the rest of the way while Dean placed a hand up in surrender and just laughed.

Seona, on the other hand, was too busy gazing at her surrounding to even take notice that she had been a few paces behind her brother and best friend. The gloomy skies above didn’t faze her much, however, the rain pelt against her skin was relaxing if not soothing, almost as if she was given a soft kiss on her face. Something about the rain calmed her nerves or rather, it was the sun that blinded her, practically shining down upon her frame that made her feel as if she was the center of attention. Seona had felt apprehensive about the bright light before but she was neither adverse to the attention nor found the need to want to stand in the forefront. Regardless, Seona enjoyed strolling along from behind, committing her sight-seeing adventure to memory.

The melodic tune of the light drizzle had put a beat in her step as she ended up skipping along the pathway before saddling up next to Dean and Ilya - a nickname his friends from school gave to him. “Is there something wrong, oppa?” Another jab at Ilya’s intolerance for the rainy mood and trudge towards Seona’s new school.

At one point, Ilya was, indeed, jealous of his little sister’s opportunity to attend - wanting to go up in his status, but, eventually, Ilya found himself at ease at his sister’s possible future. If he couldn’t be the one to be his family’s golden child and be their saving grace: getting them out of their run-down neighborhood, he knew he could rely on Seona.

Despite Ilya’s reluctance, at first, Dean had always been supportive of Seona’s endeavor. He never believed she was like other girls, especially, when she proved to him that night. Seona maintained her candor, not one to give up without a fight. Once she allowed herself the strength to fall down, she only rose above 10x stronger and better. Regardless, Dean did feel slightly conflicted whether he wanted Seona to actually attend the Academy. Dean neither liked nor admired the idea of vigilantism or police — both were slow and corrupt in his opinion. But, he also knew that it was an advantageous opportunity Seona shouldn’t back away from: the opportunity to become more and have better prospects of her future. Dean doesn’t know exactly what is going through Seona’s head, but, it seems Ilya is the same. Neither knew nor would overstep: an elephant in the room.

Finally. The trio made it. The gates of the Academy seemed to have been spotless, empty of any students and Seona could only imagine how incredibly late she was. It was, afterall, lunchtime. Turning towards Dean and Ilya, Seona smiled gently, "Thank you for coming along with me." Pausing for a moment, Seona took a deep breath as she tried to not let the tears at the corner of her eyes fall. She'd really miss them and it would be the first time in forever since she would be without them. As much as she hated to admit it, Seona relied on their presence. She knew, no matter what, they'd always have her back and be by her side. But, now that she entered a prestigious school, they were miles apart from her. Seona knew exactly the miles and minutes it took from Gotham Academy to home, it was a bigger distance than she'd like.

"Promise to call me after classes and practice? I know both of your schedules so don't try to run away from me." Seona warned, her expression as stern and serious for a moment before she broke out into a wide grin, walking towards them to o envelop them in a hug.

Ilya, on the other hand, was slightly pouting before ruffling his little sister's hair, "Look, Seona. Remember what we told you. Don't do anything reckless and for the love of god, pay attention to your surroundings. Stay in groups."

"And,-" Dean interjected, "Don't let anyone hassle you too much. We didn't teach you martial arts for show, yeah?"

Seona's words were muffled as she stuck her head against both of her brother and best friend's shirt, not wanting them to see her puffy, reddened face. She missed them already. But, without taking anymore time, she composed herself, nodding, taking a step back before giving them a wave. "Always."

However, before Seona could turn around and head inside the Academy, Dean and Ilya both stopped her, taking both luggage, one for each of them, to carry. "We're already late anyways, so why don't Dean and I get your things to your dorm while you get and catch up with the office?"

Not waiting for an answer, Ilya quickly left to the opposite end while Dean whistled, following behind. The two, no matter how much she wanted to protest their involvement, Seona knew that once they made their minds it was no turning back.

Lost. She was utterly lost. Just exactly how big was this place? Seona, if it was any other time, would have wanted to explore the entire length of the hallway she was on and the many different rooms on the level. However, the more inquisitive she got, the quicker she found herself walking in a maze, not knowing where to go.

As she looked at her timetable, noticing the different times and places she needed to be, Seona knew procrastinating last minute would bite her in the butt. But, can she really be blamed? Transferring last minute and answering her acceptance letter was a lot to take in. So many choices and so little time. In the end, she chose to attend Gotham Academy. But, as Seona was lost in her thoughts, nose stuck in her timetable, she hadn't realised someone walking on the opposite side of her until.

Crash!

Literally knocked off her feet, Seona found herself bumping incredibly rough into someone as she found her life flashing before her eyes. Her body fell backwards and she felt the world slip under her feet. And with a loud thud!, Seona was on the ground. A small hiss escaped her lips as she rubbed her side, biting her lips. But, realising she wasn't the only one to have made an impact, Seona quickly looked up, cheeks beat-red as she blurted out a quick apology, "I . . I am so sorry! Are you alright? I . . I knew I would end up harming someone because of my lack of spatial awareness."

As Seona finished her small spill, her head titled to the side slightly as she looked up at the bright, scarlet haired female before her. Furrowing her brows inquisitively, Seona cheeky responded, "Do you. . . happen to know where the cafeteria is?" She laughed softly. "I am supposed to be meeting a Valerie. . . Gordon? I absolutely do not know what she may look like. . . but I can take a guess! A female like you and I?"

”Look its fine, Sofie is fine... The hoe will be here soon for us to plan the club this year and whatnot haha.” She waited for the boys response as he frantically tried to text Sofie last minute. She snorted knowing fully well he had forgotten but it as alright. Her eyes drifted around the cafeteria looking for those forest green eyes as per usual. Her obsession was the colour was terrible since she couldn’t et enough of it. Her two— now three most favourite people in the world have that eye colour, so it was only fair to like them so much. Not to mention the people owning them are such sweethearts.

She blushed when Jae brought up Micheal like that. “Look it’s not like its that big of a crush! I don’t like him that much and...” Blake growled in frustration after knowing how right Jae was. She did like him yes but they barely knew each other, so it couldn’t have been properly justified. You could very well tell it was attraction yes but, something about him she couldn’t get off her mind. Cue the stereotypical romance of the century if ou will, but thats what she thought about it. It was right to like him. “Jae sweetie, i am very capable of fighting people considering a have a bat with blood on it from... other occasions.” She wiggled her fingers as if it were a mystery for them to some and giggled.

When Jae brought up her father and her taking him in when times were rough for him, she couldn’t help but smile; a smile that was full of honey. “You don’t have to thank us. My father was very happy he wasn’t the only male in the house anymore haha! And he treated you like his own son. Believe me he cares for your wellbeing too!” She put down her fork to her half finished food, and reached over to caress Jae’s hand. “I’m not gonna let you go anywhere stupid, you idiot. So don’t think I won’t catch you again.”

Speed-walking to the direction of the cafeteria, Sofie was still a ways away. Her previous class were practically on the other end of the school, which forced her to navigate through a maze of hallways and two sets of stairs. Accounting for the distance she had already travelled, there was roughly an additional minute required for her to calm down over some food. There wasn't anything else Sofie could wish for in this moment except for a nice, hot plate of food.

Bzzt!

The buzz of her phone put her on alert, immediately fishing it out of her pocket. It was a text from Jae, her savior. Reading the text, both her and Valerie were in the cafeteria already, which meant it was only a matter of finding them once she enters. Sofie sighed in relief, maybe she didn't have to eat lunch alone today.

Bzzt!

Another text, this time from Cassidy. Sofie smiled, it was another friend she could find. With both Cassidy and Jae accompanied by Valerie, finding one of them should be an easy task -- especially with Cassidy, as gingers were hard to come by compared to the rest of the student body.

"Thank god...I'm comin-!"

Crash!

Much like only a minute previously, Sofie came crashing into the ground. "Again...?" she groaned to herself. Today was not a lucky day. Rubbing her arms in pain, she knew she was getting a bruise from her previous tumble -- but the second tumble seemed to only make things worse. Though, she persevered and slowly picked herself back up.

"I . . I am so sorry! Are you alright? I . . I knew I would end up harming someone because of my lack of spatial awareness," the girl laying in front of her apologized. Sofie gave a few simple, short nods in response.

Before Sofie could speak, the stranger continued, inquiring both the location of the cafeteria and a person named Valerie Gordon. Immediately, Sofie's eyes lit up. From a solemn mood, her expression brightened. "Oh, Valerie?! I'm finding her myself. Let's go together!" she smiled, reaching her hand out for Seona. "I'm Sofie. What's your name?"

Name: Danni Grayson
Location: School Cafeteria (corner table)

Danni briefly looked up from her book to smile at Liam brightly. "Hey, Liam!"
Danni smiled. "Nice to meet you, Cass, I'm Danni."
She sighed when he asked her what she had been up to. "Had that conversation with my dad, again. He said no, again." She gestured to her book. "Picked up a new book series over the summer and..... uh....." she wracked her brain for anything else. "Aaaaaaand I binge-watched the entirety of NCIS. Again." She shrugged. "A semi-productive summer." She took another bite of her waffles and chewed on them contemplatively.

SEONA MUN
Seona could practically hear her brother's voice screaming in her ear about her carelessness while Dean would interject and bicker with Ilya as they just both allowed her to stay on the ground quietly. The image of them above her head, hovering over her, as they argued made her bite back a laugh as she remembered fondly of those moments. It really is a shame she wouldn't have those moments any longer. . at least, not for a long while. Perhaps it was true. Humans really do miss actions, time, and people when they aren't attainable. Or. . if there was something that allowed her to be in two places at once. . wouldn't that be marvelous? To Seona, nothing was impossible, not when she had something to prove and her mind was dead-set on accomplishing her goal no matter how many sleepless nights she laid awake or years.

However, realising her mind drifted after she spoke, Seona shook her head, waiting for the girl she bumped into's answer. With an inaudible sigh, Seona, peeked through her hair as she gazed upon the scarlet-haired girl. Seona couldn't help but wonder if the girl would. . . .

A) Brush her off in attempt to get away from her
B) Help her to where she needed to be out of genuine kindness
C) Just to get her out of her hair

At those random thoughts, Seona couldn't help but think of those possibilities of the stranger's action was akin to a video game. Illya did enjoy those 'choose your own' path games. Regardless of the case, Seona noticed the female's expression brightened up at the mention of "Valerie Gordon" and Seona took it as a good sign.

"Oh, Valerie?! I'm finding her myself. Let's go together!" The scarlet-haired girl smiled, reaching her hand out. "I'm Sofie. What's your name?"

Extending her hand forward to grasp Sofie's help, Seona gently took Sofie's hand as her lips widened into a grateful smile. "Oh, that would be lovely. Thank you." She expressed kindly, taking a deep breath before letting Sofie's hand go as she got off the ground.

Seona attempted to balance herself despite hearing a small crack in her knee. Thankfully, Seona was able to re-position herself to not cause anymore strain in her leg and could only hope Sofie wasn't harmed either. With an attempt to fix the hems of her skirt and her outfit of dust, Seona checked Sofie's attire to make sure she looked tidy as well.

"I'm glad your uniform isn't too dirty. But, even if it was or wasn't, may I offer to buy you some snacks? My treat? For your time?" Seona questioned softly, tilting her head to the side.

Pausing for a moment before walking by Sofie's side, not realising the great height distance between them, Seona tapped her chin.

"Also, I'm Seon-Hui!" She turned to face Sofie once more, looking up just a bit. "A transfer student. But. . . I think you may have figured that out." She giggled slightly before shaking her head. "You can call me Seona or, Luna. At least that's what my friends call me. Have you been here awhile?"

Liam's eyes turned to look at Cassidy. "Uhm, no. You know when they say that couples are together for too long they tend to look alike? Something like that." His attention switched to Danni again, keeping his head on her shoulder. "Oh. Well, try and try again. I mean, maybe he's just worried, you know?" His voice seemed quite different from the way it sounded when he was not talking to her. "For me, mom's being a little bit too clingy. I know she's worried, but 5 missed calls in a row, in under 30 minutes?"

Liam pouted, sighing and raising his head from her shoulder. "Just got my average up. Can group the arrows much faster nowdays. I just need to know where the first arrow went, and the others follow it like a machine gun." He was quite eager when it came to his archery skills. Letting out a small laugh, he continued "I don't really know how you could watch NCIS. I mean, it's such a dull show, but to each their own I guess." Liam's smile kind of went away, remembering something, as his face turned to Cass, seeming a little bit surprised. "Oh, sorry Cass. Uhm, can you tell us something about yourself?" He really didn't want to seem rude, as he scratched the back of his head, looking at the table, and getting his sandwich and slowly and oddly gently continuing to eat it.
