~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The night sky, undisturbed by the light pollution of an otherwise larger city, resides over Mayberry boasting a blanket of stars. Each is light-years away, and while some shine brighter than others, there's only a handful, out of those trillions, that are moving. What gets confused for a mere meteor shower by the little town below is something not quite of this world. Five or seven or a dozen shimmers burn across the sky, falling with a grace achievable only by a wayward celestial object. The truth is, there's nothing graceful about it. They're falling, but with as much style as a sloth that mistakes its own arm for a branch. If one happened to have a high-powered listening device pointed right at the sky, right at that very moment, they'd hear screaming.
Crash landing! What should've been a coordinated landing of an entire fleet devolved into a clumsy tumble out of the sky as soon as they entered the Earth's atmosphere, leaving each "shooting star" at least a mile away from each other. To a group of more human-sized visitors, this distance wouldn't be an issue, but that's what distinguishes these creatures from the aliens of Roswellian fame.
They're around half a foot tall. And they're here for our planet.
Imagine Tinkerbell, but without wings, using an x-acto knife to kill rabid rats.
We're gonna be playing these aliens (basically tiny humans) known as Parvusians, sent on a mission by their people to conquer the entire planet. Problem is, their human counterparts are around 12x their size, but a job's a job, right?
Okay but for real-
The Parvusians come from a planet, shocker, named Parvus. Once, it might've looked like our Earth, but after centuries of their military-centric practices and dependency on conquest as a means of gathering resources, their home planet's been reduced to a nice gray ball. And so, in search of a planet that supports life, they've sent out armadas consisting of their entire population with the goal of mass colonization. Earth is just one such target...
And for the sake of convenience, time passes on Parvus the same way it does on Earth, and all Parvusians have a implant thingy to understand all languages purely through interpretation of brainwaves, got it? Swank.
(Brownie points if you know what that last part's from~)
Higher Disciplines
(Most likely to reach C-ranks.)
Biologist:
Alien planets harbor thousands of undiscovered species, capable of either harming or helping the conquering effort. The study and harnessing of these flora and fauna falls under the purview of a biologist.
Technologist:
With new environments come infinite opportunities to learn. A technologist studies the advancement of a species through their use and development of technology, and finds ways to appropriate that same technology against their enemies.
Armsman:
Tasked with the care and maintenance of sensitive Parvusian weaponry, building new armaments would also fall within the skillset of an armsman. If the necessary munitions or parts are unavailable, someone with the same discipline would be forced to make due with whatever materials would be available.
Medic:
Experts in Parvusian anatomy, medics focus more on the principles behind healing rather than the most common methodology. In unfamiliar territory, deprived of equipment, they rely on little more than their training to mend injuries.
Combat Disciplines
(Most likely to reach E-ranks.)
Assassin:
Nimble, light as a feather, prime hunters. Fighting is the duty of every Parvusian, but an assassin takes a more methodical approach than their comrades. A blade in the side, an attack from above, both cornerstones of their training.
Soldier:
Footmen with no particularly extraordinary abilities, who serve a much-needed purpose. Soldiers lead frontal assaults on the enemy, and carry out the orders of their superiors on the battlefield.
Labor Disciplines
(Do not surpass P-ranks.)
Grunt:
The one-in-a-hundred Parvusian granted strength twice or three times the norm. (And below-average intelligence.) Usually just a commodity on a team, their ability finds new usefulness on a planet inhabited by giants and cluttered with a great many heavy things.
Comfort Worker:
Generally a very small portion of the personel above an invading ship, these P-ranked serve no other purpose than to provide a certain level of comfort for the rest of the crew. This usually includes cooking, cleaning, etc.
Academic - S1
(Characters 32 and below. Parvusians are gonna live twice as long bc I'm quirky. So, basically 16 and below, to them.)
Petty Officer - P2
("Assistant" if paired with a labor discipline.)
Ensign - P1
Junior Lieutenant - E3
Lieutenant - E2
Lieutenant Commander - E1
Commander - C3
(Only One!)
Captain - C2
(Only One, And It's Me!)
Admiral - C1
(Unobtainable)
Definitely! The "most likely" thing isn't a hard rule, it's just saying how the most intelligent are more likely to reach "Command." However, everyone started at the bottom at some point, so it's entirely plausible that a technologist is in an "Enforcement" position. (Enforcement, meaning, making sure things run smoothly. This can obviously mean more than soldier stuff.)
We have a few people! I'm thinking, you guys can make sheets and send them via PM for my review. I'll make a CS page later.
