role: The Rat zodiac
personality traits: Much like the Rat, Kei craves companionship, and becomes incredibly depressed when alone. He strives to make friends, but because of his childhood, struggles with creating connections with others. His awkward demeanor around others could be misconstrued as being cold or arrogant, but truly it's fear of rejection, and the fact that he has no experience talking with others. He also has a rather low opinion of himself, which is another result of his upbringing. All of these combine, making him out to be rather naive, both about people, and about the way the world truly works.
significant relationships: Haruhi- They were the first Sohma he came in contact with upon his return to the estate, and he instantly fell under their thrall. He would do anything to please them, despite sometimes feeling slightly uneasy around them.
history: Keiichi was born to an unwed mother, a lower-ranking member of the Sohma family. She used the fact that her child was possessed by the Rat to improve her status, which, in turn lead to her developing a haughty and snobbish attitude. As a child, he was often kept separate from the rest of the zodiac on his mother's insistence, despite the fact that he longed to befriend them. The attitude developed by his mother lead her to develop lavish habits, spending money she didn't have on things she didn't need and wracking up loads of debt. She became frustrated and would drink because of this debt, and would oftentimes take her frustrations out on her son. The next day, she would go back to praising him and treating him as if her was a trophy child, leading Keiichi to develop a rather fractured sense of self.
After years of this toxic, isolating relationship with his mother and his family, Keiichi ran away from home at age 14. He took a train to the country, began living and working with a kind old farmer, and never looked back. When the farmer passed away five years later, Keiichi was left alone, with very little money and even less of a feeling of purpose. This was the event that lead him to travel back home to be with his family. Upon arriving at the Sohma estate, Kei learned that his mother had died shortly after he left home. He has now been living at the main house for a short while, and now that he's free of his mother's influence, wants nothing more than to connect with the other members of the zodiac.

Likes: Being around people, coffee, being fatherly towards people (especially his family members), children (not in a creepy way), his job as a little league baseball coach (all boys team, fortunately for him), sweets, giving advice, and protecting his loved ones.

Dislikes: Bitter foods, the smell of cigarette smoke, whenever someone in his life is gone for a long while, cloudy days, and seeing anyone having to go through a rough patch in their life.

Personality: Kouki is pretty much like a family dog. Extremely loyal to his family and friends, attention-seeking, and always joking around and being a goof-ball. He's also very fatherly and is always there for anyone, whether if they seek advice or someone to listen or just someone to cry on. He loves helping out his community, especially the children at the local elementary school by being the baseball coach for the boy's little league team. Kouki is a dreamer and will often make numerous plans for different things, all to see a good portion of them be unreachable, since they are way out of his ability... and budget. His biggest plan, though, is to adopt a san and finally be the dad he's always wanted to be. He's pretty much the "uncle" towards everyone in the Sohma family, which is why everyone comes to his house to be chill and hangout so that they can get away from their daily troubles.
Kouki's also very gullible and naïve with the ones he's loyal to. He's been known to be walked all over by many of his so-called friends, especially when he was in school himself. He can also be clumsy and ditzy, especially in the mornings when you can see him walk into walls and spill his coffee on the table. And even though everyone thinks he's a very innocent and childish man, he's been through a lot, including a very back break-up, and he has a dark side to him all his own, which only a very few people know about.

Personality traits: Michiko is usually honest, and sincere to anyone she is around. She has made it a habit to be honest with people upfront instead of trying to appeal them. Though, because of this she comes off as rather rude to the people she’s honest to. Because of her communication issues, her honestly is mistaken for being brutal. Since middle school Michiko has decided to keep to herself and not try to explain her actions to anyone. However, that doesn’t mean that she’s completely heartless as she does try to correct what she’s done wrong and understand that things can go too far at times.​

When she considers someone trustworthy she tends to let loose and show her more easy-going side. Humorous, Caring, and laid-back are a few of these traits. She also likes to do things on impulse and enjoys playing arcade games. If anyone is ever in trouble then she’s willing to do whatever’s in her power to help.​

Because of her past Michiko constantly cares about her outer image but doesn’t care about what others think of her. She’s a bit of a neat freak, but also doesn’t mind getting down and dirty if need be. It takes a lot to get her upset/angry, and when she is it’s difficult to calm her down. On top of that she can hold a grudge for days on and will hold it against you until she’s ready to move on from it.​

Michiko is also very stubborn and believes that she can do everything on her own.​

Significant Relationships: Kouki Sohma - Because of his outgoing nature she had a strong dislike for him since she had been around people who acted similar toward her. He was also friendly to the others, but she seemed to think that he was only trying to gain her attention. After a confrontation with him she had told her parents that she never wanted to see him again knowing that her parents would do whatever she wanted, but somehow, they had told her that it was impossible to do that. Because of what she had said they decided to do the complete opposite which was have her attend the same school as him. Eventually down the line Kouki had proved to Michiko that he was genuinely himself inside and out, and therefore he’s been the only person that Michiko has fully trusted.​

History: Michiko was born into the Takahashi family who have owned multiple businesses and hotels throughout the century. Because of this the family is well known to be wealthy on their own, so for them to realize that their daughter was born special meant, to them, that it was no accident. From the moment she was born they would throw events, host parties, and even build a special line of luxury hotels in her name. No one knew why they did this, but everyone went along with it. They needed to go along with it.​

As Michiko grew the events continued, and it became a regular thing for many people who wanted to get closer to the Takahashi’s that they first had to get the approval of Michiko. At first, Michiko was a young little girl who was surrounded by many people. As a child she knew nothing of their real motifs, and was an enthusiastic, happy girl. She saw gifts upon gifts that people would bring her, and how they were so glad to be around her. How her parents celebrated her every day, and when she could ask for anything she wanted, and it would be granted.​

Around age 6 however, things started to change. People assumed that because she was a child she didn’t know any better, but what people didn’t know what how much she could listen in on a conversation, or how she could pay attention to how people acted around her. At this age, she learned a lot about how people really are. She would hear how people talked when they thought she had walked out of the room, or how children were groomed to like her by their parents, or even how her own parents looked at her. Little by little she grew to distrust everyone around her, and by the time she made it into school she liked no one.​

An incident had occurred at school that really hit the spot for Michiko. A boy, whose mother had told him that he needed to become her friend, had gone above and beyond that. He hugged her when she was turned away and caused many people to see who she really was. Because of this the Sohma household had to step in and take care of the situation. She was taken in by them for a year, and during that year she had met Kouki.​

Because of the past Michiko has grown up not trusting those around her and has distanced herself from her family. Since graduating high school she told her parents that she wants to live her own life. However, they made it clear that she will one day run the “empire” they have created. They have let her do whatever she wants to do for now, so she can “get it out of her system”, so she decided to go to a university farther from them. She also lives in an apartment that she pays for with the money she makes from being a cram school tutor.​

Personality traits: Hoshi tend to act according to her own judgments, even while remaining private and reticent. She is determined to accomplish her goals and hates to fail. Hoshi is intelligent and wise. She is good at communication but she says little. Hoshi likes to believe she is a great thinker. She prefers working alone, therefore she is easily stressed. If she seem unusually stressed, it is best to allow her her own space and time to return to normal. Hoshi is clever, creative, lonely, sentimental.

Akira- Very close to her as they get along well. Admires her delinquent side

Haru-Like a younger brother to her. He was the first cursed Sohma she met and she appreciates what he's doing. She can see how hard his parent's abandonment has been on him

History: Hoshi's mother passed away due to complications during childbirth, which lead to Hoshi being housed in a hospital for a month after she was born. Due to this harsh start to her life, her father often worried for her safety, especially after he found out she was cursed. Knowing that the cursed animals didn't have the best life living on the Sohma estate, he found a job far away as a chef. He tried to do the best for his only daughter, but they lived a simple life, one that Hoshi was happy with none the less. The only issue she faced was being teased in school for her eyes. People would think she was evil or that she would curse them, so she grew up hating her eyes. Her father decided to get her colored contacts, making her blend in with her peers. She never takes them off in the presence of others, only her father sees her with her natural eyes.
However, when Hoshi was 12 her father lost his job and was forced to move back on the Sohma estate. Hoshi found herself mingling with her cursed cousins for the first time in her life. This helped bring her out of the shell she made to protect herself, and she improved her social skills. This was the highlight of her time here, as the rest of the family tended to avoid her due to the "dark cloud" that came with her curse. Her father knew this was happening and was affecting her, so he tried to shield her from it and worked extra hard to find a new job and leave the estate once more. He ended up working himself sick, passing away when Hoshi turned 15. Without the protection of her father, she felt the full effect of her curse, and often stayed by herself or with on of her cursed cousins. Hoshi focused on her studies, and plans to get out of the estate and leave the Sohma's behind.

personality traits: Haruhi is a mystery to most, what with their continuous sickness and weakness keeping them cooped up in their room while very few people came to take care of them. Their being kept away from people made them very socially awkward, and as the years went on, their position of being God gave them, well, a God complex. They planned for years and years as they awaited the day they would finally be of age to take over their parent’s responsibilities and be the true family head. However, because their parents were in control for so long, the couple made the others of the family think that their God was very lax and kind, letting them all go as hey pleased and do as they wished as long as they came to certain family events. But once they come to power, Haruhi would change things to “create a better, closer family of Zodiacs”.

significant relationships: Parents - Father’s name is Gen and mother’s name is Mika. They are very protective of their only child, but also protect the family from their child at the same time.

history: Haruhi was born very sick, and their sickness and weakness never got any better over the years. At first, when thy were very young, they were very compliant and tried to learn as much as they could of the world outside and of their family and what they did. But, as the years went on, they would become rather jealous of their freedom and their happiness, and that they did everything Haruhi could only dream of. Haruhi wanted to be outside. Haruhi wanted to be out there, chatting and laughing with people. Haruhi just wanted to be with people, and have them around them all the time to make up for how lonely they were as a child. They resented the fact that everyone else even got the chance to leave the Sohma main houses, which was what they wanted to do for so long.
But no one knew of these feelings of their God - the Sohma family only really knew that heir God’s name was Haruhi and that the godly child’s parents were kind people who let them have lives outside the estate and outside of their curse, as much as they could at least. But now that Haruhi is 17, things will change.

Personality traits: Hardworking, resourceful, courageous, and talented, Haru is very confident in himself. Haru is active, amusing, and popular within a crowd. He is talkative, outspoken, frank, open, honest, and loyal. He likes to be the center of attention. He is happiest when surrounded by others, whether at a party or just a social gathering. He enjoys the spotlight and will exhibit his charm on any occasion. Haru expect others to listen to him while he speaks, and can become agitated if they don't. Vain and boastful, Haru likes to brag about himself and his accomplishments.

Hoshi- Hoshi is like an older sister to Haru, and they tend to bond over their lack of parents. Haru tries to get Hoshi to open up more to crowds and other things. He was the first cousin she met.
Konno- Get's along well with him since the two are similar in many ways
Yuuki- Finds him annoying but harmless
Kouki- Doesn't make a habit of spending a lot of time around him
Michiko- Doesn't really know her that well
History: Like other cursed children, Haru was rejected by his birth mother who left him shortly after he was born, his father not long after. So he spent his whole life on the Sohma estate, filtering from one family to the next, acting like the perfect happy child he wanted to be. He tried to hide his issues with his parents by acting like he didn't care, and when that didn't work he picked up sports. From running to swimming to baseball he was a very active child with a lot of energy. On his 15th birthday he got his own small place on the estate, though he mainly eat's and sleeps there, not liking the quiet of that place.

Personality traits: Normal Akane: Slightly shy, quiet, kind, a bit of a pushover, worries about others before herself, fears other. Dark Akane: rude, violent, mean-spirited, ignorant, basically she’s a real bitch

Significant relationships: Akane has 3 siblings, two sisters and a brother, she doesn’t talk to them but often sees them as she goes around the house. She doesn’t have friends and any relationships with people

History: Growing up as the cow was not something Akane was fond of. She was always seen as the outcast of her family of 6. Because she was apart of the zodiac, Akane spent most of her life away from her family watching them from the sidelines, so many of her siblings think of Akane as a pampered stuck up girl, even though they know nothing of the curse. But that was the exact opposite, as a child, Akane grew rather shy. After being separated from her family with no real explanation, Akane grew to believe that there was something wrong with her, so she started to shut herself away from others. She became very quiet and shy around others, and many in the main family used that as an excuse to make her do whatever they wanted, saying that is a was loser goodie two shoes that she was only good for doing things for others. Eventually Akane began to think this about herself as well, and those dark thoughts ate her inside, giving birth to her dark side. Whenever she got pissed off at other for using her, or calling her name, or basically what lit the fire inside her, her dark side would come out. Let's just say that Akane’s dark side is completely different from her.

Personality traits: With the young girls closed off and blunt personality she comes off as intense and difficult to approach but in reality she’s rather (if not especially) laid back. She’s a reject, ditches class, out till ungodly hours of the night, although once she starts talking she’s the type to laugh easy and speak almost too casually.

Significant relationships: She tends to avoid having significant relationships altogether, (due to her vulnerable state when she transforms) she’s gotten good at punching and shys away from physical contact almost entirely.

History: Her father never really let her go to school at an early age. While that wasn’t so terribly uncommon for a Sohma her father had been merciless, holding her in the house for days using the excuse of insisting she would be too fragile in the case of a transformation. In time, she resented him for it. She got better at pushing people away, better at fighting, and by the end of middle school she was nearly a runaway, disappearing for days at a time for years until she turned fifteen and finally started attending a proper school. Despite being held back for smoking in the girls bathroom and general attendance her grades now are remarkably high. The few friends she has are only temporary, and she really only sees them after class or when they peddled some alcohol from one of their older boyfriends.

Gender: Despite his androgynous appearance; Male
Role: Monkey

Personality traits: Yuuki has quite the magnetic personality, he's witty and and quite intelligent for what he let's on. However he can be quite the mischievous sort as well and can come across as an overall prankster. Another striking quality would be his intense curiosity whatever that might be at the time know that he'll most likely poke and prod at it until he has a complete understanding for it or something else grabs his attention. Yuuki's restless behavior can become quite tiring to someone who's more lax, it'd be quite the challenge just the keep up with the guy. Regardless Yuuki is a sly, crafty and overall good time no matter what time or day you approach him. Be that as it may Yuuki at his core is a person who wants to help people and solves problems, he takes pride in finding solutions for people and reaping the rewards if there was one to begin with. Being a critical thinker he can sometimes grow irritated and exhausted with issues but that's if the situation is rather dire, overall Yuuki is a mischievous guy with a touch of kindness to counteract his antics.

History: Yuuki for as long as he can remember has been a resident of the Sohma estate, from his babysteps all the way to his crazy antics within the household nothing is close to quiet and peaceful when a young Monkey sohma is up and about having fun. From pranks to parties it isn't the occasion that worries Yuuki it's more or less how much fun he'll have while doing it. Yet as of late the Sohma Estate has been quiet, for 2 long months Yuuki's voice just vanished some wandered if he was just playing the longest game of hide and seek but Yuuki was never known to get into his same antics twice it was always something different. 2 long months turned into a year and a half and still no word from the boy at this point most had either figured his attention fell on something far away and he was chasing it or he just grew bored of the house and began to feed his curiosity elsewhere. Whichever conclusion the Sohma fell upon it would soon be answered by the now grown Yuuki as he makes his return to his home to most likely continue his antics all while having the time of his life. However the older Yuuki bears a bit more baggage than before metaphorically speaking, even though that infectious nature he normally bears is there in spades if one were to look close his nature seems to be a bit more reserved and matured. Either the boy had grown up and learned things from his time away from the estate or something else is going on...who's to tell.

personality traits: Konno is an energetic, Extroverted, generally friendly, quite positive, easy going individual. While Konno enjoys being in the limelight to such a degree, genuinely , part of it has to do with his overcompensation for his lack of actual confidence in himself. It is safe to say that Konno is more cunning than he is a scholarly intellectual, often finding such discussion matter to be thoroughly boring. Despite this he is quite capable of holding a conversation on his own, and even doesn’t mind working in delicate social settings, where the slightest slip of the tongue could cause issues, for example. At other times Konno can also come off as impulsive acting swiftly if he truly believes he is making the best decision, without much reflection usually. Instead of calculating carefully and analyzing, he prefers to go with his instinct, relying on his ability to talk his way out of things when he messes up royally or to get what he wants in the most effective way. Because of this he can come off as a bit self centered at times, particularly if caught using these tactics, red handed. Even so he usually means the best and is completely capable of understanding the other side of things if he thinks about it all deeply enough.

History: Konno to begin grew up in a fairly standard household. He had his father present in his life the most, who supported him along the way, his mother for reasons even unknown to him was completely out of the picture, his father never releasing the intrigue. It took Konno a great deal of begging before he was finally allowed to go to a public school, before being privately taught by various individuals what he needed academically, when money was still good. Konno wasn’t a huge fan either way however, he did manage to end up fairly popular in the eyes of his peers for the limited time given.This lasted for a few years until a rather unfortunate event occurred where Konno ended up shifting, after a really well placed a well intended hug. This of course resulted in him being pulled out of the system at around age 10 and PLENTY of memory wipes. At a fairly young age, he gravitated towards musical instruments, starting to compose and playing the guitar for hours on end while his father worked. It became one of his favorite ways to pass the time. Eventually since his Father had been working quite a bit and wasn’t doing nearly as well financially as he needed to be doing to support the both of them. Despite all the playing out on the street that Konno did to try to help take some stress off, of his father, by playing for money (He actually collected a decent amount). His father wanted him to have much more than he was able to give him then the current conditions permitted , so out of desperation he sent him over to the Sohma estate, where he was allowed to dwell as pleasantly as one could on such an estate. As of current Konno’s longest aspiration is too eventually get off of the estate and start his own band of sorts and go pro, figuring that he’d be able to work around the curse fairly easily.

Name: Makoto Sohma, or Mako

Personality Traits:
Mako is a cheerful, bubbly boy with a penchant for joking around a little too much. Though he seems careless and aloof, he's actually a very responsible student and friend who organizes everything in his room and bag almost obsessively. With adults or family members he's not too well acquainted with, he's incredibly polite and courteous. When with friends, however, he makes jokes and jabs like any other teenage boy. Sometimes, Mako has a tendency to ignore what's happening in reality, such as natural disasters or people dying. In Mako's world, everything's okay, and he wants it to stay that way, so he locks himself away in his own head. Should someone smash through this facade of content, he may break down completely. His sentimentality knows no bounds... which is why he has too many stuffed animals.

Tragic Backstory:
Makoto was the younger brother in his little branch of the Sohma family, and yet he somehow inherited the Rabbit. Not that he minded, of course, as he knew from a young age that rabbits were adorable and rejoiced in being able to turn into one. Others may have considered it a curse, but Mako considered it a blessing in disguise. Since he was so happy about it, his parents couldn't help but be alright with it as well. He was their son, and he loved them.

Mako's brother, Kazuto, was a wee bit overprotective of him, so whenever other members of the Sohma family started making fun of Mako or leaving him out of their playing, Kazu made sure to include him in his own fun, even if his own friends didn't necessarily want that. Mako appreciated how much his brother cared, but by the time he was ten years old, the act was starting to get a little old. He wanted his own friends, not friends that his brother had made for him.

Before Mako could even think about stopping his homeschooling and going to public school, Mako and Kazu's mother fell ill. Even though the Sohma family had a lot of resources and medicine at their disposal, her sickness was shutting down her body faster than they could work. She held tightly to her sons' hands as her life faded from her.

Try as he might, Mako shattered inside. He had a (somewhat) perfect little world going, but without his mother, how exactly could he be expected to believe that was truly the case? That was probably when Mako started ignoring the bad things in life. Friends at school may have talked about him behind his back, but he pretended he didn't notice. Other Sohma family members may have spit whenever they said his name, but he looked the other way and tuned them out. Reality was simply a bad dream to Mako, but everything in his world was okay.

His disillusion has made him even more naive than he was as a child.

Most people don't take failure well, but Hideaki's bad temper makes it worse. His innate talent with people is his biggest asset in getting himself to the top, and he's willing to use it to its fullest extent.

Frankly, the reason for this is his utter lack of sympathy for others. While he may appear charming and considerate, he doesn't really try to hide the fact he does this to further himself. The few times he was called out, he simply stared and asked "so what?" The Tiger is unabashedly honest about what he does. Though mistakes were not met with punishment, the quiet disappointment in his parents' gazes was reason enough for Hideaki to try harder. Failure made him feel less than adequate. So he learnt and adapted, eventually becoming a son his parents proudly bragged about during family gatherings. The praise fed his ego, and he strove to do so much more.

Following his parents' footsteps, he took business in college. People looking at him wouldn't expect a successful businessman in the devil-may-care attitude he possesses, but his ruthlessness and ambition allowed him to open a successful music bar in the city. personality traits:Kaori by nature is short tempered, competitive, somewhat impulsive and what one could consider rude at times, often enough. While all of these traits do not make for the most pleasant combination she also possesses a much kinder, softer side (A side which she doesn’t like to show due to the obvious vulnerability) , and an over protective nature of those that she cares about. Kaori is also incredibly dedicated to those she cares about, and is not one to be stepped all over easily, more likely to try to do the stepping. (Fight over flight)

history: Kaori being the cat, it was safe to say that her parents were largely horrified and dishonored. Afterall the cat was not part of the actual Zodiac and thus didn’t bring any obvious benefits, only disadvantages. Then of course there was also the fact of the cat’s form and what it meant, which didn’t help any either. So as a result Kaori grew up within a bitter household that tolerated her at best. After some general hardships growing up and then the added strain of the curse, Kaori was finally able to disassociate herself from household as they happily signed the forums required for her to do so. Due to a general lack of feeling of belonging due to being the cat, It is safe to say her outward personality was largely formed from circumstance. The only requirement was simply that she stayed within a certain range of the estate once she moved, so as a result with consent she is simply living off close by to the estate for better or for worse (mostly to make sure she doesn’t do anything rash and cause issues), in an extremely modest living space. Also due to being the Cat Kaori rarely bothered showing up and interacting with the family much at all on her own volition due to the constant feeling of being “other”. This isn’t to say she hasn’t had ANY interaction or even meaningful relationships with anyone just most likely less. As of current Kaori isn’t entirely sure what to do with herself and life, as long as the money continues to come in however, she is content with hanging around for awhile. As a result of her issues she cannot help but blame the rat for a great deal of the issues which have fallen upon her.

personality traits:Ayaka is a good hearted girl at her core if not a bit hot headed at times, generally exuding a friendly and warm air about her. The youth generally isn't afraid to speak up if she feels she should, and more often than not is hardly afraid to get into a fight if it means helping another or doing the right thing, but that's not to say she won't do such simply to put someone in their place either. She despises others who think themselves better based purely on egotistical merit and little else, even more so for individuals that bully and harass others for their own personal enjoyment. Ayaka thoroughly enjoys a good challenge as well, all too happy to throw her hat into the ring if it means testing herself in some way, and even if she's hardly experienced in something as she sees such as a learning experience, accepting any defeat with good sportsmanship so long as such is returned in kind.

history: Ayaka was born as the ram zodiac, surprising her parents as they seemed to be sure she would have been have been a normal human like her father was but the zodiac curse stuck their only daughter. At a young age her father disappeared without a trace on his way to work, the blame fell up Ayaka and her mother could no longer look at her because it was believed that her curse had caused her father to leave them. This tension seemed to carry through her childhood until her mother passed away recently, leaving her in the care of the estate. That is all that is really known about her currently before her arrival.
