Character Theory Lets help each other Exploit Character Flaws!

here is a Thread where we can together as a civilized group, describe and discuss character flaws and how we can make those character flaws actually matter, or what we feel is sufficient to matter. i will explain a few things.

a discussion in another thread, was about weaknesses that were truly not weaknesses, and i wanted to bring up, with examples, other limitations of those weaknesses that should apply when appropriately enforced, although not enough to invalidate the character or make the roleplayer feel alienated for thier choice.

lets see what other weaknesses you discussed and how to exploit them or how to make them matter.

for the first mentioned example; if a character has a really heavy suit of armor that is extremely hard to sunder and provides a lot of protection, but also slows their mobility and denies them to ability to even sneak, while the stealth and mobility themselves aren't inherent flaws of the armor, but most heavy armors are rigid, and rigid armors like full plate and most forms of Science Fiction Tactical armor are weak to heavy kinetic impact, which can be easily delivered through a blunt weapon like a mace, in a setting where heavy rigid armors are available, there are plenty of people with blunt weapons who can just cause heavy internal bruising to the person beneath the armor, where the limited mobility becomes a weakness, because blunt trauma is a huge weakness of paladins and the like. in fact, heavier plates only make the bruising worse.

for the second mentioned example, the physically weak character with superhuman agility. faster reactions eat more stamina, a physically weak character usually also has less stamina, meaning while they can avoid being hit extremely well in the beginning of a fight, application of consistent pressure, use of area effect attacks or simply outlasting them in the stamina department can cause them to eventually grow weaker. there is no means of completely dodging a hand grenade that exploded near your location without at least some significant damage, and being overwhelmed by a variety of attackers will mean you have to choose which attacks to dodge, meaning some of them will eventually hit, because flanking is a good way to counter super agility, and most physically weak characters should have poor stamina due to that physical frailty.

the socially awkward character with mind powers, even if they do or say the right thing, can still end up being seen as creepy, because the right thing could be catering to some rather intimate knowledge the person keeps secret, it would be wierd to offer a plush doll to somebody who keeps their love of plush vulpines a secret and they would feel ashamed you knew their embarrassing secret, and would probably be aware of your mind powers. meaning they know you read their mind, because lucky guess only works with complete fools.

the young illusionist whose eyes amplify small amounts of light to allow them to see in dark places, might be able to see in the darkness and function at night, but their companions might be more accustomed to the day, and their dizziness in bright light might be an issue unless their companions have a similar level of low light imaging.

the childish figured mage, still has the figure of a child of the age they appear to resemble. this limits their strength and stamina, and could affect the amount of stuff they can carry, and even then, being mistaken for a child if not one, can mean you probably abide to the weapon restrictions a child can get away with and will likely not be taken seriously enough to enter many adult exclusive locations or learn skills usually taught to adults. and it also means that with a small body, you have a harder time storing large quantities of energy and probably depend on something like siphoning from nature.

lets see what other weaknesses others bring up and how they would deal with them, or what secondary weaknesses they found when you apply logic or consistency to the character.

There are also dudes with energy sheilding in Sci-Fi RPs 99% of the time. Usually what works on that is another energy weapon.
