About:

- Throughout his life, he had always been terrified of his mother. She became verbally and sometimes physically abusive towards him and his older sister when they were both young. It got really bad when he approached twelve years old when his grandfather (her father passed away) and she began drinking more. It was hard for him to tell anyone about it (his father was always at work), as he was always told men can't hurt women and abuse doesn't exist for males.
- When his father found out, he was furious and they moved away to Rosewood to start fresh for his father's new job opening. He couldn't stand their mother for the way they treated his children. His father was a police officer and put a complaint forward to the police department giving them the evidence they needed.
- Dealing with that in his childhood messed him up mentally. When he attended Rosewood high school, he joined the track team. He was one of the fastest guys on the team. Running fast helped him forget about his mother and the pain she caused him. He won races, many races by putting his pain into something positive.
- He began lifting weights in the gym after training season even if his coach opposed the idea of him gaining weight in muscle form. He didn't want to be 'weak' to anyone.
- In his junior years of high school, he dated Allison Dilaurentis, the worst decision of his life. She didn't want anyone to know about them because he wasn't in her crowd. Instead, when he broke up with her because it was too hard for him to keep them a secret, she made his life a living hell. She made up rumours about him.. you name it, she did it. Ruining his chances with any girl who wanted to be with him and other potential friendships he could've had with her circle of friends.
- It felt like his mother's abuse all over again in a different way. Again, he was never good enough for anyone.
- When A blackmailed him to join their side. He had no choice, but it felt nice to finally have the power he had been missing his whole life. When he tormented these girls, he imagined that it was his mother he was hurting. And it felt great to get the 'revenge' he had always wanted to have.

Occupation:
- Tom is employed at their local cafe part-time.

Reason for blackmail (or his secrets):

- Thomas was involved with the 'death' of Allison Dilaurentis. He didn't whack her over the head with the shovel, bury her or contribute physically. He watched from behind a tree and didn't stop the murder from happening, he could've prevented the murder of 'Allison Dilaurentis' that night. He had gone over there to gain closure about their relationship and why she treated him the way she had. Instead of helping her, he walked straight home.
- When he was younger, he took his anger out on his classmates as Allison did. He took the pain that his mother caused him and used it to destroy other people's lives the year before they moved. When the school found out about what he was doing, they expelled him.

Relationships:

Allison Dilaurentis: His ex-girlfriend. After their secret relationship ended (that she was embarrassed by), she made it her main priority to humiliate and ruin his life. They are each other's worst enemies.

Hanna Marin, Aria Montgomery, Spencer Hastings and Emily Fields: He despises them, they never stood up to Allison for him when she tormented him. Instead, they snickered to themselves with her.

Moana Vanderwall: Him and Moana both shared a silent 'hate Allison Dilaurentis' group. She was his best friend until she decided to be with friends with Hanna for popularity mainly. Now, they barely spoke to each other. Another reason why he hated anyone who was friends with Allison Dilaurentis.

Mike Montgomery and Paige McCulum: He gets on well with both Mike and Paige due to their bond over sports. But he wouldn't consider them his closest friends in Rosewood.

Lucas Gottesman: He got on well with Lucas, they both were quieter and outsiders of the school which meant they often confided in one another. And were both relentlessly teased by Allison and her friends.

Toby and Jenna Marshall: They have always been good friends of his and he did feel guilty that he outed their relationship to the small town. He hoped if they found out it was him that they'd understand why he did it.

Noel Kahn: Noel is his best friend who he met when they attended middle school. He was the first guy who made him feel relatively welcome considering now he can be a jerk to anyone else. Having Noel on his side made battling things with Allison much easier than anticipated.

Ezra Fitz and Caleb Rivers: He didn't really have a lot to do with them. Ezra was only an English teacher to him and Caleb, well he hardly even knew who he was. Besides that, he is Hanna's boyfriend.

At least, at first sight. Underneath the bubbly, somewhat lazy persona she's built for herself there's a calculated, sarcastic and somewhat envious girl that only shows herself with her friends. Probably why she doesn't have too many of those. Either way, although it's not very noticeable to people who don't know her, she always has her walls up and thinks two steps ahead before trying to play an angle.

Eventually, there would be another two new additions to the family; Leila's younger brother and sister. Despite the family's happy outward appearance, inside the house's walls, there was a very different story playing out. Due to the problems within their marriage, their parents decided their kids would be temporarily living with their aunt and uncle. While temporarily might not be the best word to use, considering it's been four years Leila and her siblings seem to have integrated pretty well.
She became part of Alison's posse when Leila was working a summer job as a cafe waitress. Alison would come around to the cafe and the two would often get to talking, criticizing the clients or spying many affairs that went on inside the cafe. Alison liked the way that she hid her venomous thoughts behind her sweet words. Though it's not like none of those thoughts were ever directed at Alison. There was a certain level of envy Leila had towards her friends. Maybe it was because it seemed Alison could get just about anything or anyone she wanted in spite of her being the cruel girl she was while she had trouble getting anything because of her attitude. She soon found herself making up one-sixth of the most notorious group in school. Until one night, when Lei and the others awoke to their leader's mysterious disappearance.

3.- To make money for her and her siblings Leila resorted to sell 'special study pills' around the school. She's never gotten around to selling any of the harder stuff probably due to the fear of getting caught.
4.- Previously cheated on her last boyfriend with her first-ever girlfriend, however, she ended up leaving her once she found out about the situation.
5.- She isn't actually blood-related to her father, though she knows this much, she doesn't know who her actual father is.
6.- One of the reasons her parents could no longer have children living with them came as a result of gambling, to the point where people began showing up at their door to charge their money. But then again, which of the five didn't? As mentioned before there was always some envy she had towards the blonde but she tried to keep it under wraps.
[div class=tag]Aria Montgomery[/div] To this day she probably considers Aria the girl she's closest to. Obviously, after Alison, she's hesitant to call anyone a best friend but Aria and Lei do share everything.
[div class=tag]Spencer Hastings[/div] There's always been a little bit of tension between the two, with Spencer being a no-nonsense type of person while Leila thinks of everything with a playful twist. It doesn't help that Lei thinks Spencer is pretty sus, what with her notorious relationships with her sister's boyfriends and her obvious clashing with Alison.
[div class=tag]Emily Fields[/div] At first she was very irritated by Emily's soft and shy demeanor but soon enough, through teasing or genuine conversation she came to grow a soft spot for her.
[div class=tag]Hanna Marin[/div] Maybe Hanna is a particularly touchy subject for Leila. Originally the jokes she made about her figure were only meant to be playful. She honestly didn't believe what she was saying and, of course, Hanna dished out just as much as she took. After learning about her eating disorder though, she tries to be more careful with her words, at least with Hanna.
[div class=tag]Caleb Rivers[/div] With how important the group of girls seemed she never quite understood why Hanna would be interested in a guy who looked like he was a basement dweller. There's animosity there but in his case Lei makes no attempts to sugarcoat it.
[div class=tag]Mona Vanderwall[/div] For some reason or another, she always felt a certain pity for Mona. Not to the point where she would approach her, clearly, but just enough that guilt ate her up at night, wondering if her circumstances had been different could she and Mona be in each other's places?
[div class=tag]Jason DiLaurentis[/div] It was pretty hard not to let Alison influence her views of Jason. Needless to say, she isn't very trusting of him.
[div class=tag]Jenna Marshall[/div] Given that she played her part in "the Jenna thing" she's always had a certain fear of the truth coming out. Though, through Alison's vague words she knows Jenna's no angel either. Expect her to be just as guarded as the other girls when Jenna shows up.
[div class=tag]Toby Marshall[/div] Leila can remember once or twice in her childhood where she interacted with Toby. And by that, she means they were pretty close. After Alison pretty much made him take the fall for Jenna's blindness, their relationship has been pretty much non-existent. Sure she feels bad, but as far as the others know, she just thinks he's a weirdo.
[div class=tag]Ezra Fitz[/div] The mere idea of being with a teacher sort of grosses her out. But still, she understands he's not actually that much older than Aria and from the classes, she's had with him, Lei can tell he's a pretty decent guy.
[div class=tag]Mike Montgomery[/div] Honestly she couldn't stand the whole pitty party he had going for himself but as a favor to Aria she kept an eye on him when she could and even ended up advising him on how to navigate his parent's divorce.
[div class=tag]Noel Khan[/div] It's no big secret she wasn't his biggest fan, especially not after learning of his ties to Aria and Alison. Either way, a client's a client. Though she did end up selling to him once or twice, they often got into arguments as he still managed to fail his classes.
