The late Levitus Epoch, Third Era of Creation

Although it had been at least thirty thousand years since it's creation by the almighty deity known as the One Superior, the fabulous and mythical world of Khartouma was still in it's infancy. Mankind was still very young and only a few millenia removed from their hunter/gatherer days. A sparse number of tiny kingdoms rose to dot the landscape, yet none was greater than the land of Dantavish. Known far and wide as the Jewel of the Sands, Dantavish is cited as the first true empire to ever arise on Khartouma, the great desert city serving as a crossroads of commerce, trade and was the center of all known civilization. For nearly three centuries, Dantavish reigned supreme as the sole super power, the very cornerstone of empire. But as the saying goes, all good things are destined to perish as all empires are destined to crumble. For the past fifteen years, the mysterious order of the Abissinian Warlocks have seized political and cultural control of the empire. Long suspected of being a dangerous cult, the Warlocks have even stretched their sinister influence over the royal court. King Marcian IV, current young ruler of Dantavish, is well known to be a devoted disciple of the Abissinian Warlocks, and any decree the order makes, he passes into direct law over the kingdom. Under the insidious watch of the shadowy Warlocks, Dantavish has become a hot bed of corruption, fear and cruelty. But things are about to get so much worse. As King Marcian's thirtieth jubilee approaches, his fawning devotion to the cult has left him completely blind to the Warlocks' monstrous plans. One of the Chaos Goddesses, Tother-Rai and her lover Teth-Arr, demonic Lord of the Fourth Realm, have manipulated events up until this point and are directly responsible for the rise of the Abissinian Warlocks and their stranglehold over Dantavish. Tother-Rai plans to sacrifice the young puppet king in order to break the fabled Eelano Vitale, the legendary seal that separates the living world from the realms of the dead, as a gift to her lover Teth-Arr to allow him to freely walk in this plane of existence. But unknown even to her, is the catastrophic consequences that will befall Khartouma as a result. As the king is murdered, it sets forth a disastrous chain of events that will see the empire fall and the gates of hell literally unleashed upon the world. The dead will once again walk the in the realm of the living...

So this is all my own original creation and lore that I'm currently basing several fictional novels on. Set in the mythical world of Khartouma, an alien planet with three moons that is a stand in for our Earth in this parallel dimension and is part of my Warriors Of Khartouma series. This RP will start off immediately after the fall of Dantavish as a horde of millions of zombie like demons, known as the Kadavruu, are set free from the Underworld as a result of the sacrificial murder of the king. Over the course of only a few a months, mankind has almost been completely wiped out, with sparse pockets of survivors. Think of this world as a kind of mash up between Lord of the Rings, Conan the Barbarian, The Scorpion King and The Walking Dead.

Im a fan of medieval fantasy and zombies, forgive me if I read wrong but I think I saw the word "warlock" in that check so before I commit myself to this I thought I'd ask is there magic? or only a select few in this world can do shit under that umbrella?

Indeed, lots of magic, but yes only a select few can wield it. The Abissinian Warlocks practice Chaos Magic, which itself can come in many different forms. The two rulings classes of deities in this universe are the High Celestials and the Compendium of Chaos, both with many different gods and goddesses amongst them. Tother Rai, is just one Chaos Goddess with her own form of Chaos Magic that she specifically taught to the Warlocks. The other major class of dark magic is Blood Sorcery, which lie with the demonic Nine Lords of the Abyss. In this world "hell" is splintered into nine separate realms with one demon lord ruling over each realm, and each with his own form of Blood Sorcery. Sorry if that was a long winded answer, but my lore goes very deep this particular universe lol.

Nah lore isn't a bad thing, though from that I'm guessing those who can use are magic are taught a specific type that comes from one of these places considered hell?

Aside from chaos and blood what else can one aspire to use in this world?

(Edit i misread blood magic comes from hell lol)

Well hell is simply refered to as The Abyss in this universe. but yes.

The other types of magic are the so called good or light sided magics. There is Celestial Conjuring which mostly takes the form of meditation, astral projection, dream interpretation, limited clairvoyance etc. But since this is taught by the High Celestials, it's limited in it's scope since these light sided deities think it too dangerous to gift mankind with too much unnatural power that they couldn't control. Than there is Entropy Alchemy, which is completely forbidden by the One Superior (my version of the one true God or Supreme Being in this universe). Entropy Alchemy has only ever been studied by Kharderasch, the Chaos God of War and Alconon, a rogue Jaded Oracle. If a human were to even try to summon Entropy Alchemy, his soul would literally be eradicated from existence.

Now that's what I like. How about magic items, can I have a talking sword that shoots flames?

How about a weapon crafted by an extinct order to avert an earlier magical apocalypse? Found by some thief or some other misift utterly unworthy to wield it. Really just a way to play a "magic user" without the baggage.

I would have to see the exact write up. I'll be posting a character creation t thread soon since there seems to be adequate interest.

This does sound like a cool setting. Nice work!

RanRed RanRed A sword that's possessed by a flame demon (or that was sealed in the sword) seems like something that could happen in this world.

I'm interested in joining! Do you have a cultural identity theme that you intend for us to follow or are we free to go crazy with whatever cultural influences we want to bring? I ask because I see the cover image (Really well made btw) is of arabic influence :D

Thank you...yes my main influence is a mix of Conan's Hyborian Age and the Arabian Nights. But with that said, my lore really involves influence from a lot of ancient cultures. Ancient Mesopotamian, European, African, so don't feel like you have to limit yourself to a single ethnic archetype.

I see, I presume this means East and Southeast Asian (Far Eastern Asians essentially) are off the table?

This setting is dank, and I'm following along to see what kinds of character submissions you get. If it looks like a cast I'd dig being a part of, I may throw in an app! Great job worldbuilding, partner. 🤠

I appreciate the compliment dude, glad the setting and story piqued your interest. It's a entire universe I've been working on for the past two years, not just for RP obviously but for a series of novels I hope to write. Tons of lore and fictional history 😆

Also anyone who joins, check the OOC page as I've provided a few links to some videos that will greatly explain all about the lore that goes with this particular RP. I think you'll enjoy it.

Video links will be up for about another week, so anybody who hasn't caught up with the lore for the RP, this is your chance. PM me if there is an issue with the links.

Hi Darrian_Gabriel Darrian_Gabriel ! Not only is this impressive and intriguing, it might be something I'm deeply interested in. I've always enjoyed and had fascination for epic and high fantasy, especially in RP form. The collaborative story aspect of RP is thoroughly enjoyable. ANYWAYS! I'm wondering if this is still open, and if so, can I join the OOC?
