The world has descended into fear and madness. At first it was a tragedy, the death of Charles Xavier. Many people, human and mutant alike, mourned his passing. Less then a month later, the shocking news that Magneto and several prominent members of the Brotherhood were killed in an incident in Genosha; it is also said that the mysterious X-Men were also present during the incident, taking their lives as well.

Shortly thereafter, other leaders in the mutant community and mutant activists started to disappear. Rumors started to circulate of men in black vans pulling up and kidnapping mutants, causing the mutants to wonder if the government was responsible for these heinous acts. The seeds of distrust and hate continue to grow, deepening the rift between humans and mutants. It finally reached critical mass in Mississippi; it is unclear as to what instigated the incident, but it is said to have left a city block destroyed, several people dead, and a mutant in jail.

This incident has caused an uproar and instigated rioting in several major cities, including Detroit, Michigan. The government has responded by deploying troops to put towns under Martial Law. With a shortage of available manpower, the private security company known as the Monolith Group has offered support, and is prominently felt in major cities such as New York, St. Louis, and Detroit.

The intense response has subdued the rioting for the time being. However, mutants are forced into hiding once more. The Monolith Group is seeking to detain any mutant they can find, regardless if they were part of the rioting or not. Their detainment extends to family members of mutants, and entire households have been taken into the custody of the security firm and carted off to unknown locations. They also possess strange, powerful weapons that the US Government does not; these weapons are engineered to combat mutants, and are capable of neutralizing their powers. As part of the lock down procedure, the Monolith Group has erected a powerful barrier around the cities it occupies that interferes with mutant powers attempting to pass through it.

There is only one option for mutants and those related to mutants - escape. As long as the Martial Law continues, the Monolith Group is ruthlessly hunting down these refugees. The mutants are too unorganized and lack direction to go up against the Monolith Group's numbers and firepower. People hide in the dregs of the city, surviving one night at a time and hoping to find a place safe enough to sleep until they can get out of the city.

But for one group of Mutants, our story may come to an end too soon.....

One of the Guards opened the cell door and shoved a girl of about 18 through with a laugh. The girl fell a few feet from the door and lay there not moving but a groan could be heard coming from her.

The girl slowly aroused and tried to move, she started to raise her hand to her head, she then realized her hands were behind her with some type of cuffs on them and Her head felt like it was going to split apart. "hmmmm. Where... Whats going on?" She mumbled. Painfully trying to pull herself in to a sitting position. finally she was able to lean against the wall nearest her.

Wincing at her own aches, another girl dragged herself to her feet and went over to help the 18 year old.  "I'm a paramedic.  Let me take a look."  She announced to the woman.  Granted she had no equipment nor was it easy to do with her cuffs on, but she felt like she had to do something and not just sit there on her butt in this dungeon they had all landed in somehow.  "Did they hurt you?"

Melissa smiled even though you could see the pain in her eyes. "Guess I look perty beat up hu?, Well don't worry bout it darlin, I be aight." Melissa said with her southern accent showing in every word. "side from my black eye they got a bloody nose." She said with a laugh that sent waves of pain throughout her body. She leaned heavily against the wall and closed her eyes. "I just need some rest. Maybe that will help." As she watched watch Melissa slumps down, passed out from the pain wracking her body.

The metal door of the cell groaned as it was dragged open and Jaimie jumped out of her light dose. She didn't bother to get to her feet, it wasn't smart to draw attention when the guards entered. They were all powerless, and bound by their hands so that took most of the ability to fight out. Besides that and the fact they were all slowly losing more and more energy.... this was the end of the line, last stop was awhile ago and they were stuck here to rot. Or die.... probably die, or something else entirely.

She'd always known being a mutant could get her killed, but Jaimie had always imagined something else would get her first. Now, she was locked up, in this cold, dark, dirty cell with a bunch of others awaiting the same fate. She'd already tried fighting her way out, and it did not end well, she still felt the wound pinch when she moved her torso too much. She'd been locked up in here long enough to have tried what she could think up.

When they threw someone else in, Jaimie did jump up to her feet. Just because it was the end of the line, didn't mean they had to give up on everyone around them.

"That's the spirit," She called, but kept enough of a distance from the new addition to the cell and the woman trying to look her over. Of course... it didn't look too good considering the girl passed out not too much later. Jaimie frowned and crouched down, ignoring the shock of pain, and looked her over herself.  "Hey, think she'll be alright?" Jaimie asked, and turned her head to look at the other woman with a frown. Sometimes rest meant not getting back up... and although the likelihood they could do anything was minimal it was always worth trying.

"I am sure she is going to be ok hun. This isn't the first time she has been brought back looking like that. Though it is worse each time. If only they would remove those cuffs from her." The young girl looked up at the one who had addressed her. "My name is Leah, what's yours?" she asked.

She nodded with a forced smile. She wasn't sure if any of them were going to be okay... but it was a little comforting. At least no one was being beaten to death then, when they were defenseless. "And let us have our powers, not likely," She sighed, glancing down to the two silver cuffs on her wrists. She didn't know how they canceled out her powers, but the flashing green light was a constant and annoying reminder it was there. But at least she could move her hands.

"I'm Jaimie," She said and smiled then. "At least we can't lose those," She joked as she looked around the cell. Well, they couldn't. Their names were their own no matter where their identity as mutants got them.

"I'm Crystal." A small voice said from close by. A young girl of about ten stepped into the light near the three. Her brunette hair came to her shoulders and he hazel eyes showed dimly. "Do you know if someone is coming to rescue us?" She asked with a voice full of fear, her small figure moving a bit closer.

Apex.

Gabriel Sat curled up in the center of his dark cell. He had just awoken after nearly three months of hibernation. With a deep rumble he slowly rose from his coil, Creeping closer to the door he stared at the hinges while listening to the sound outside of his cell. His hearing could pick up the sounds through his walls, fourtunatly there were no guards around his cell as they had not been needed as of late. In the distance he could hear them...the others.

"Jaimie...Crystal." He said mimicking their voices perfectly. He began to hear other speaking around his door. The fall of boots, the crackle of radios, shouts of "its awake!"

lowering his eyebrows and groaning like a large dog in trouble. He pulled back into the corner of his cell furthest from the door and braced himself for their latest "attempt."

Jaimie turned around at a new voice and was surprised to see a little kid. She shouldn't be, she knew that, seeing as she grew up in a group of kids running so they didn't get caught. That didn't make her less sad to see someone so young stuck in here. It could have easily been Jaimie if not for Haylee. Jaimie also didn't know if she should tell her the truth. That they were most certainly stuck here. There was no one who could make it through the monolith's defenses or would for a group of ragtag mutants.

As she looked down to the little girl whose honey brown eyes were glittering with fear and her hair was matted from being here too long... she found her courage for the truth slip away. She crouched down on her feet so she was more on her level. "I have a group of friends who are probably figuring out a way right now, Crystal," She lied, a weak smile on her lips. She wasn't a great liar.... but she just wanted to give this little girl some hope even if there was none. It wasn't a total lie, she did have a group of friends... but she knew the rule... and no one was coming to save her.

A movement that made the cell bars rattle made Jaimie jump in front of the little girl so she was behind her. As much as she hated her powers... wouldn't they just be ever so useful right now? She'd thought part of the wall was collapsing in the cell across from her, but as it moved she realized it was a... a something. Her green eyes popped open in surprise as it, er, him? Her? said their names.

"Hello?" She called unsteadily, she wasn't trying to be rude but in the dim lights Jaimie also wasn't sure what she was looking at. She? reminded her of Rob, one of the boys in her gang whose mutation made his skin hard like rocks and he'd have bumps that were pretty much rocks along his arms and one on his cheek. He'd been taken early on, having such an obvious mutation, but he'd been a good guy. The more she looked the more she could sort of see eyes in the person.

Boots were heard before the shouts of the guards and she watched her stomach getting a pit in it as the mutant made a loud, moaning sort of noise that sounded absolutely heartbreaking. She glanced down at Crystal and pushed the little girl farther away. Jaimie went up to the bars to investigate and saw the poor creature curling up in on itself. Which was hard because it was huge, but he was like a dog backed into the corner and these bastard guards were ready to attack she knew.

"Hey about you come pick on somebody who'll fight back, stupid flatscans!" She called out heatedly. She didn't think about the fact that she had no powers or none of her knives and they had guns and had sent that girl in here beat up. She'd just seen the poor creature practically crying and lost her cool.

upon hearing the girls voice one of the soldiers turned towards her cell and was about to begin approaching, but Gabriel could sense what he intended and suddenly sprung to his feet. He charged the cell door with a savage sounding snarl and slammed his body's mass against the reinforced door. Unfortunately for him it was reinforced with vibranium. The massive impact sounded like two semi trucks colliding head on at high speeds.

Yet the door held, bouncing the force back into Apex and sliding him across the floor back into his corner. It made him look a bit like a fool but he succeeded in getting the soldiers attention back on him. Outside the cell the guards jeered and laughed as Gabriel rose back to his feet. Opening the slot in his door they rolled in a canister of mustard gas. "Let's see you survive this, freak." The guard chided as the yellowish green smoke filled Apex's cell. At first there was a whining sound from him, followed shortly by choking and wheezing, lastly there was a raspy breathing that suddenly stopped. The guards all fell silent each one taking a turn peeking through the slot. A low growl followed moments later by Apex slamming into the door with all of his might again made many of them jump, mutter curses, and shrug Turning away from his cell with boredom. Only one stayed behind, a man in a lab coat writing on a clipboard. "Remarkable..." he pulled a small tape recorder from his pocket. "Subject has ceased respiratory functions as a defense against he toxin...Further studies required." He put the tape recorder back in his pocket before placing a hand on the door. "If only I could get you into a proper research facility, but you wouldn't sit still would you boy?" With a manic laughter the scientist continued down the hallway where the soldiers had gone once they got bored.

Jaimie stepped back from the bars so they couldn't get to her without coming in. She hoped they did, maybe... she didn't know, they were all banged up but maybe with the guards riled up and distracted they could try and do something. Jaimie decided it was better to go down trying than die slowly and watch everyone here suffer with her.

None of it ever happened, though, because the mutant threw himself into his cell door and the sound made her hands jump up to her ears. She'd thought he was trying to escape but he'd slid backwards onto the floor instead. He must have tried that hundreds of times, Jaimie thought with a frown. Her green eyes glared angrily at the scene, mocking and jeering. But when they threw the gas she stumbled back quickly away from her cell. She wanted no part of that. It also made her realize her idea to fight the guards had been plain stupid.

She stayed quiet now, realizing her mistake and she knew if they did make a move somehow it certainly wasn't when there were a ton of armed guards sitting right outside your cells. He or She... cried and it was the saddest thing to watch. The mutant was still and she wondered what sort of gas they'd thrown through that slot... until he or she rammed into the door again. The guard who had been peeking through was thrown backwards. Luckily caught by another guard but it made her smirk. Good... asshole flatscans.

More than the guards, the scientist like guy had Jaimie inching further back into the cell she was in. Into the safety of the darker areas. So the mutant was a he, and that was a hell of a power. But how could he be alive without breathing? Maybe the scientist was wrong or he was faking. Then again, how else would he still be moving around? She glanced down at Crystal, then to Leah who was still near the girl who'd been tossed in, to make sure she wasn't in any danger as the scientist left. Bastard, treating that poor guy like he was nothing more than an animal, and not in the good way either.

Jaimie waited awhile, to make sure that nothing was going on and the creepy guy in the coat was gone before she eased her way back to the cell bars.

"Hey," She called gently. "Are you okay big guy?"

The beast slowly crept back to his heavy door, at Jaimie's urging. After a few seconds his big eyes could be seen in the slot that they had tossed the mustard gas into, the slot was at the same level as Jamie's face making it easy to see. His eyes while red seemed to be more like a cows than a humans.

Again he mimicked her voice. "Are you ok..." he cut the last part off instead making a small nod, or at least what looked like one. Then he let out a sound that was a cross between the coo of a dove and the purr of a big cat. His eyes didn't leave Jaimie's for even a fraction of a second. It was as if he were studying her posture and face. After a few seconds of that his cheeks pulled back a bit to reveal his teeth. His agitation seemed to leave just as quickly as the soldiers did and he was back to slow methodical movements.

After a few more seconds of studying her he opened his jaws and a new voice came out. "Hi this is Gabe, I can't come to the phone now but if you leave your name..." he snapped his jaws shut ending what sounded like a voice message. After wards he made a strange chirping sound and stared at her expectantly.

"I'm alright," She assured him and he nodded back, so that must mean he was too. Jaimie smiled and a small giggle slipped out as he made a sound kind of like a cat but not really, kind of like he was quailing. Could he talk? He'd said their names earlier and just asked if she was okay. A grin tugged on her face as she watched the guy, he was all over the place. But he smiled, a big toothy smile and she wondered how he rebounded so quickly after the guards just did all that to him. She had to admire his spirit anyways.

She was shocked and jumped a little when he talked. Sort of... but it was sort of electrical sounding. Like a phone or something. He um... chirped at him, although it sounded positive and gave her a look. He had a real strange way of communicating... that was for sure, but maybe he couldn't talk right? But the look he fixed her with... well he wanted her to get something. Oh, was that his name then? "So you're Gabe?" She asked, watching closer to see if she could make out another nod. Stupid cells made everything ten times more difficult. "I"m Jaimie, but you know that, right?" Since he'd said it earlier, but that didn't know he'd been able to match her voice from then to before. But he'd ended his sort of sentence kind of asking her name?

The next morning the head guard comes back to the cell, he unlocks and opens the door. Heading straight to Melissa, who had woken up only minutes before, he grabs her by the arm and drags her from the room again.

Melissa screamed in pain as the guard pulled her out of the cell. "Now what does that imbecile want." Melissa asked. Trying to stall for time.

He ignores her question and the others knowing they could do nothing to stop him.

Leah grabbed a hold of Melissa trying to stop the guard from taking her with him, but the guard kicked her aside.

"ENOUGH" Melissa yelled. "I'll go with you, just leave them be." She turned to the others. "Trying to protect me is not going to help you. My brother will be here, just hold on to what strength you have so he can get you out safely. There is no need to worry about me." Melissa turned to the guard and allowed them to lead her out. She didn't need anyone else hurt cause of her. With in seconds the guard and Melissa were gone with the cell locked tight.

(Sorry!)

David made the last few adjustments on the security system, one of those adjustments being a transmitter. His DNA wasn't picked up by the mutant scanners that were all over the building and on the guards' hips. It was an invaluable asset to the resistance. He then made his way to the area of the maintenance area just outside of the cell block and set three charges. One for the guards' office, one for the armory, and one for a hole the escapees could get through. He finished his shift, clocked out and sent a text via his encrypted phone to Rogue.

<Transmitter on security mainframe. Building is now yours. Charges set for prison  break>

Once Rogue flipped the switch on her transmitter, she would have control of every door, light, cell, turret, you name it.

That is, until someone found out the security system was hijacked, and tried removing the transmitter. David smiled darkly as he pulled what looked like a key fob out of his jacket pocket. Once the team was in position, he would activate the...security measures he placed in the control room, and anyone without mutant DNA wold be fried.

She'd slept as well as she could, considering where they were. It wasn't the floor that bothered her, Jaimie was used to sleeping in precarious places, but the fact the guards were so prevalent and what had happened to Gabe yesterday made it hard for sleep to come. She'd been jarred from her doze when the gates squealed and a guard approached.

Jaimie scrambled to her feet and threw herself towards the guard that had the girl screaming and Leah who was trying to help her. Leah got shoved aside and Jaimie jumped backwards before they could do the same to her. The girl with the accent warned them away and she watched feeling helpless again. It wasn't a feeling that agreed with her.

Her brother? Help them? Like hell they wouldn't worry! She clenched her fists, knowing she couldn't do anything... and for the first time in her life, as she watched the girl get dragged away she wished for her mutant powers. She wished she had some way to fight back right now. A way to win.... but was she telling the truth? Was someone coming for them?

With a sigh she turned and helped Leah up, checking her over for injuries but she seemed okay. Then, in case the girl who was gone was right... she checked the rest of the cell over to wake everyone up. So they could be ready in case something did happen. She glanced through the bars at the slot across the hall, and wondered if Gabe had heard all of that, or understood it. @Jefferson

First she went to Crystal and smiled down at the little girl who'd likely been jarred away too. "Hear that Crystal?" She said softly, resting her hand on the girl's arm. "We're gonna get outta here, just like I said. Make sure you stay awake okay?" @PrincessCrystal Jaimie moved then to lean down to a girl with dark who'd been quiet most of the time. Honestly... she'd only just realized she was here now that she was checking the whole cell over. She blamed it being dark, even if she wasn't completely observant.

"Hey, you hear that? We've gotta be ready just in case..." @Becca's Bliss She said in a lower voice to the girl so Crystal wouldn't overhear them. She wanted the little girl to retain a little hope in the situation. Maybe she was being too hopeful here... but that's all she could do, so she had to do at least that.

Kam heard the jet fly by from a distance, his enhanced hearing picking it up. He headed out from his apartment, cloaking himself and transforming before doing so. He took to the air, heading in the direction of the warehouse.

The Monolith muscle hit like a sack of potatoes, but Jo wasn't about to admit that to him. The metallic taste of penny's filled her mouth, her tongue frantically scanned the inside of her mouth. Thank God, all teeth were accounted for. Jo spit the blood onto the floor, which of course was closer than she'd like.

"Is that all? Your momma put it better to me last night."

Another blow, this time a kick to the torso. The force of it knocked the wind from her lungs,  and sent her rolling over from her hands and knees position. There was a crack and a sharp pain, and Jo knew a rib or two were fractured.

"Where's the prototype?!" His voice was forced calmness, but Sparks could tell underneath it all was a geyser of frustration.

Honestly, Sparks had no idea what prototype he was talking about. Ironically enough, she didn't lift this piece of tech, but she can see why the Monolith's first go to was her. In their eyes, if she didn't have it, she probably knew who did. Only, she didn't, another fact she wasn't going to divulge too fast. The beatings would continue either way, at least she had a bargaining chip of some sort...kind of.

"Where's my sister?" The words were a little softer than she intended.

"We have her, and you'll see her. We can even arrange you two share a cell. Just tell us the location of the prototype." He kneeled down to her level, probably in an attempt to seem a little more caring, like he actually gives a crap.

For all Sparks knew, it was a lie. They had yet to prove that Blaze was in this facility. "Nah, I'd rather share a cell with your Mom." This time the Monolith muscle gripped her hair, obviously loosing his patience. He fist halted just inches from her face, Sparks expression unflinching. A smile spread across her lips, exposing blood painted teeth, followed by a small laugh. "I was just going to fry you when I get outta here, but I see your pretty family oriented. Keep this up, and instead, I'll reduce you to a drooling vegetable. Trapped in your own mind, burdening your family to take care of your living corpse."

He leaned in so close Sparks could feel the heat from his breath. "One problem, you're not getting out of here." He roughly tossed her aside as he rose to her feet. "Take her back to her cell, we'll try again in a few hours."

"Aw dude, you might want to try a tick tac every once in a while."

Crystal moved over to Jamie and clung to her leg. "I'm scared Jamie. Will you hold me?" The ten year old asked, her voice flowing with fear. She didn't trust too many people and if she was able to use her powers, well she would be using them to talk to people since she did not like talking verbally. She looked up at Jamie with puppy dog eyes, something that no one would resist.

Lynn clutched her arm to her body, she just knew that it was broken from how hard she had fallen when the guard had pushed her away from Melissa. She watched as the little girl took hold of Jamie and smiled despite the pain in her arm. "It's ok sweet pea, I am sure Jamie will protect you from those men."

Sounds were bouncing painfully around in her abused head. Blaze was aware of being on a cold, hard surface and pulled her legs up close to her chest and clapped a hand over her exposed ear. The memories of the last few hours were slowing making their way back into her muddled thoughts.

The sounds began evolving into voices and muffled words. She couldn't exactly understand any of them but she was starting to get the idea. They were imprisoned. Blaze peeked her not swollen eye open and saw the metal door. "So am I." Blaze croaked and began starting the process of getting up. Mistake. The world started to sway and it took all of her considerable will to keep conscious and not vomit.

Once she made it to her feet, she stumbled to the door and pressed the swollen side of her face against the cool metal. It felt good. It was refreshing but Blaze was not used to the cold and she started to shiver again. She made to wrap her arms around herself and only then realized that she was cuffed. "Hey." She croaked indignantly. That wasn't fair. She was captured, she should be uncuffed. Were they that afraid of her?

She concentrated on the voices she heard, the direction they were coming from. She may be able to pick up her sisters heat signature. She closed her eyes. Nothing. Her brows furrowed and she tried harder. Her frustration began to build. "These damn cuffs." She said, her voice clearing now. "Hey!" She yelled more forcefully at the door and gave the cuffs a good bang.

Blaze stared at the door waiting for an answer. When none came she really started to get mad. Then the pacing started. She couldn't be here for long. She was already beginning to unravel. Kidnapping her was one thing, but stealing her powers too? She made a game of her captivity. Each time her pacing circle made it back to the door she would yell an expletive and bang the cuffs. Before long a delicate trickle of blood was making it's way to the tips of her fingers. I'm getting out of these damn things, she grumbled silently.

Jaimie blinked down to the little girl who was suddenly wrapping her arm around her leg. She froze, unsure what to do suddenly. She was fine going around checking on people, that was something to do, an action to take while others figured out the important bits to be followed. But now she had this little girl looking at her expectantly and asking for comfort. Jaimie didn't know what to do with that. She grew up on the streets, and the orphanage before that wasn't exactly the prime example of a good place to find warm cuddlies. Hayley and her had never been touchy feeling either, and Jaimie just froze suddenly.

Leah spoke up to her and she tried to right the frown that passed over her face. Right... she was being ridiculous, this little girl was kidnapped or imprisoned and she was just a little girl. Jaimie looked around, feeling self conscious before she sat down with her back to the wall and held her arms out for Crystal to come sit in her lap. Protecting she could do, though. She did that plenty for the group. "Leah's got that right, I'm a good fighter, no one'll get you as long as I'm here," She promised. It felt odd, in a good way, to be making someone that sort of promise. Probably it wasn't smart, but she'd go down fighting if they tried to drag a baby girl away. Jaimie felt for the dully sharpened rock in her pant pocket just above her knee. It wasn't a knife, but it was at least something jagged that could be used as a crude weapon. Not effective against a gun, but just in case.

Maybe, if someone was coming, they'd be able to slip out with them. Use some information about the accented girl as leverage or something. Jaimie looked up, rubbing a hand soothingly along Crystal's back as she heard loud bangs. It wasn't coming from Gabe's cell... but it seemed louder and further away down the hall. Maybe something was happening after all.

They'd reached the warehouse, although not quick enough for Rogue's liking. They knew they were walking into some sort of trap, but there was nothing they could do about it. It was nothing but antsy glances and a quick briefing on the game plan. She asked Victor @Jefferson to go with James to get his sister, because she knew that his powers might make the difference when it came to a trap being set for James. Then she called for Sebastian @Shadow to follow her towards the prisoners. They were her top priority and once they'd met up with the informant @DavidRanger318  she raced through the halls trying to pull the schematics they'd all looked at back to mind. But it was easy to get lost in the mirrored concrete hallways.

With a lucky turn, Rogue heard the unmistakable sound of metal hitting metal without any harmony. She'd bet her last dollar that's where the mutants were being held captive. Rogue flew down the hallway, slowly only to throw a fist towards one of two guards who had turned the corner as she did. Her fist made contact with the first and dropped him. "Hey now!" Rogue quipped as she felt a tug on her ankle and then was thrown into the close wall of the hallway. "Ugh!" She grunted as she picked herself up off the floor and settled the guard with a heated gaze.

She threw herself to her feet and collided a fist to the side of the man's face with her stolen superhuman strength. She stood up straight as the man crumpled to the ground. "Serves yah right, for grabbin' a lady," She huffed and stepped over him to run the rest of the way to the sound of metal clanking had been before it stopped.

A shout drew Rogue finally to the beginning of the cells.

"It's alright, we're here ta get y'all out," @Maori Rogue explained quickly and grabbed the cell and gave it a quick shake. It shuddered, but didn't move, they must have really re-enforced these suckers. That was when she remembered the transmitter. She quickly pulled the device set up to receive the signal, from one of the utility pouches and fiddled with it for a moment and switched the flip before the electronic seal of the door buzzed and clicked. She heard the same sound echo down the hall to her left, as other doors must have done the same and unlocked. It was as easy as pushing it open after that. "Come on!" She hollered, turning swiftly down the hall where more cells lines the area.

There's only so many times one can pace around a tiny cell before losing their mind. With each time passed the door she could feel her throat becoming more hoarse and her mind slipping a little more. The only thing keeping her sane was her intense anger at herself from being caught off guard. She decided she would never be caught like this again. And where the hell is Jo, Blaze thought to herself.

During her final pass at the immovable door her wrists froze inches away from another bang. She heard footsteps. Her heartbeat quickened as she heard the voice on the other side. Friend or foe? "Hurry up," She said as the door groaned on its hinges. "I'm hungry." It was true, she hadn't eaten since before she was taken. Luckily she couldn't use her powers so her metabolism wasn't as fast as normal but still, a girl has to eat.

Blaze stepped back as she heard a serious of clicks, her brows furrowing at the sound. The voice yelled for her to come out. Her jaw worked as she tried the door. It opened easily and her heart soared as she ran out into the hallway. She was greeted by the back of a woman moving swiftly down the hall. "My cuffs, dude!" Blaze yelled as she started after her.

Blaze's eyes started darting around the unfamiliar hallway as doors started to open. Her gut tightened. "Sparks! Are you here?" She yelled loudly. Blaze hoped she wouldn't find her sister here but part of her hoped she did.

Sparks awkwardly cradled her right side, consciously taking short deliberate breaths to help stave the pain. She held her breath as she heard what sounded like a scuffle far away, probably down the at the other end of the corridor. With effort she rose to her feet and hobbled towards her cell door, pressing her ear to the cold metal, the coolness felt good in her current state. The words were muffled, like garbled sounds beneath the waves. Though, none of those sounds were as satisfying as the loud click that nearly deafened her. Sparks jumped back in surprise, causing a sharp pain to radiate from her torso and grunt to escape from her lips.

"Ugh." She hesitated. "No way." Jo had never had such a burst of luck. She tested her good fortune anyway, and pressed against the door and whaddya know. "Shut up."

Oh man, some Monolith agents were going to get what's coming to them, as soon as she can high jack some cuff keys. Jo's making of a plan was interrupted as she heard her name, spoken in a familiar voice. Her heart nearly exploded from her chest in excitement.

"B!?" Jo nearly fell to the floor she ran through the door way, the wall helping to stabilize her. The mono jerks were telling the truth, Cora was here. That or she's part of the rescue crew. Before she knew it, she was trotting over to her sister, with an awkward hobble. "Oh my god, I'm so glad you're okay."

"Wait." Cuffed hands raced up to Cora's bruised and battered face, and a flame or anger spiraled out from her core. "Which mono-dick, did this? And who are these people, did they provide keys?"

Jo was forced to raise her voice as mayhem began to rise around them.

Sebastian followed Rogue out of the plane, listening closely as she outlined the plan. He nodded, watching the others split off to follow their orders. He continued to follow her into one of the buildings and down a long hallway. She easily took care of the two guards and then unlocked the cells. He started flinging the doors open, watching as some of the more curious captives opened their own doors. "Hey everyone! This is a rescue! You have two choices; help us free everyone else or go that way and wait in the plane." He shouted, motioning towards the door that led outside. He weaved through the growing crowd, taking several random turns as he headed deeper into the building in the hopes of finding more captives.

It grew strangely quiet after a while and he realized that Rogue must have taken a different turn than he did. "Crap." He whispered to himself, reaching out to see if he could feel any pain. He gasped as a flood of pain filled him and he could tell that he was losing control over his pain intake. He stumbled slightly, trying to move forward so he could find someone to transfer the pain to. Suddenly, gunshots echoed down the hallways, whizzing uncomfortably close to his head. He winced, trying desperately to focus on the two guards as he expelled a massive blast wave of pain in their direction. They flew backwards and hit a wall before crumpling to the ground. He fell to his knees, the sudden relief a bit overwhelming.

After taking a moment to recover, he stood up and realized that he was now in a massive room full of large, barred cages. "Hey, I'm here to get you out." He told the captives, jogging over to inspect the locks on the cage doors. "Do you know how I can get this open?" He asked, directing his question at a dark haired girl @FarFlungDreamer who was sitting against the wall. He knew that Rogue had a transmitter that opened the doors, but unfortunately, he wasn't sure where she was at the moment. Hopefully one of the captives knew how to unlock the doors. After that he would probably have a lot more pain to absorb before everyone would be able to walk on their own.

Rogue lifted into the air and looked back over the device for an answer to the girl shouting about the cuffs. An escape would be ten times easier if she were able to get them off... but nothing on here seemed like it would work. That meant she'd have to do some protecting and try and fight their way out or to the others. She turned, as she heard shouts, but not the angry sort, the relieved kind. Rogue glanced back and found the two embracing, she spared them a quick smile. They must know each other because their questions were the same. Not that Rogue blamed them, it'd probably be her first call too.

Maybe.

Well in this situation, yeah.

"Sorry Sugah, I don' have anythin' for tha cuffs." She had fiddled and fiddled with this thing and it just didn't have access to the cuffs. It made sense they'd keep it manually. "Here," She settled down on the ground and reached out for one of the girl's hands. She didn't know what else to do but brute force. This was either a terrible idea, or a great one, but it was the only one Rogue had. She grabbed the metal around the cuff and used all her strength to break it.

Except it didn't break.

Rogue stared quizzically and tried again, but her super strength was gone. Thinking on it, she looked at the cuff and still hanging on tried to fly. Nothing. "Damn nabbit, it's inhibitin' mah powers when I touch it," She snapped and then looked around. "Listen, we gotta find a master key to these things. Do any of y'all remember anythin' when yah were brought in? Someone in charge, an office, security room, anythin' at all?"  @Maori @S0urPa7ch
