Jailed

Jaimie jumped at a sudden voice. She raced over to the front of the bars, and then glanced back at Crystal, realizing in an after thought she should have stayed with the girl. She held one finger up to indicate to wait a minute, so she didn't think Jaimie was forgetting her. She just had to jump for the opportunity when they had it. @PrincessCrystal

"No," She shook her head and wrapped her hands around the bars to look at the dark haired boy. "But every guard seems to be able to, they might have keys... or a keypad or something." While that would be more helpful if there were guards around, maybe he'd already encountered some. Or something...  "Don't suppose you might have mosied around one of those, huh?" @Shadow

Kam hit the detonator as Rogue opened the cells. The command office, armory and jail block now had their own respective car-sized holes in them. He stepped through the hole in the armory and grabbed several weapons before smashing a door into the wall next to him. @FarFlungDreamer He saw Rogue fiddling with some cuffs and decloaked, walking over to her. He set the weapons down, consisting of several small arms and some heavy, as well as some debilitating weapons such as shock blasters akd tranq guns. He casually took the young lady's hand from Rogue and scraped the metal with one of his claws. The cuff fell off instantly. He then moved to the others, doing the same for them.

The wall blew next to her and Rogue's hands dropped the girl's cuffs and she twisted with her fists raised, ready to intercept whoever it was and protect the two girls who were behind her. The whole facility seemed to shake under her feet, though, and Rogue hunched her shoulders more to keep balanced. Suddenly, someone appeared not a foot from her, they must have been invisible.

That somebody looked a little like an overgrown lizard with wings. Rogue shrugged mentally, deciding she had certainly seen weirder mutations. But it was a friend, clearly, as a mutant they were all on the same side these days. But the weapons had given her pause until he set them down. What mattered was that he managed to slice the cuff off before it could affect his mutant. Rogue grinned.

"Well thank ya kindly," She turned and looked at him repeat it. "Ah assume yah're James' inside source?"  @DavidRanger318

Z-13 looked around in disbelief. She had heard what the girl told her earlier, but she had put the thought out of her head. She never expected an opportunity to escape to actually present itself. She had tried to escape herself many times, but it was useless without her powers. And now there was a group of people who had somehow managed to get past security and they were opening all the cells.

Z-13 stepped out gingerly, unsure and confused by the whole situation. She looked around, taking in the events happening around her. She eventually became so caught up in her own thoughts that she didn't notice Kam approaching her. When he went to grab her hand, it was like reality came crashing down on her. She liked her new body. Sure it wasn't perfect, but she liked it a lot better than when she was made out of ice. "No thank you," she said quickly right before Kam was about to cut the cuffs off. Part of her knew that she'd have to take them off eventually, but she really didn't want that to happen right now.  She wanted to stay in this body, if only for a day or two longer.

@FarFlungDreamer He turned and nodded to Rogue in response with a "Mmmhmm," in his deep, gravelly voice that came with altered vocal cords.

@Becca's Bliss

He raised an eyebrow at her and shrugged, then plodded on to the others to help them with their cuffs. Thankfully his DNA was resistant to the technology the humans had developed.

Sebastian's eyes widened. "Oh, yeah...Obviously. I should have, uh....thought of that." He said awkwardly, feeling a bit stupid for not thinking of that in the first place. The cell doors that Rogue had opened with the transmitter probably led to prisoners of higher-importance, so these cells should be easier to open. For instance, by using the keys that he now saw were hanging off one of the fallen guards' belts. He hurried over and un-clipped the ring of keys, then hurried back to the cage with it in hand. He carefully unlocked and opened the door. "Are any of you injured?" He asked, unable to feel their pain until after they stepped out of the cage. He frowned at the handcuffs for a moment, doubting that any of the keys on the ring would work on them. And if he couldn't rip them off by sheer strength, then he would be the lone protector of all the captives.....This was way too much responsibility.

A quick glance to the other side of the room showed that there was another cage with a lone occupant. "Are they...one of ours?" He asked the dark-haired girl from earlier, unsure how to describe the hulking mutant. Either way, he didn't plan on leaving it locked up here with the Monolith. He found a key that fit the second cage's lock and waited for someone to tell him whether or not to turn the key. Damn, he really was becoming a perfect little soldier that lost his head without very specific orders. But if this hulk-beast wasn't on their side, then letting it out could also be a catastrophe.

@Jefferson @FarFlungDreamer @PrincessCrystal

Blaze heard her nickname from a voice so familiar it could have been her own. As she watched her sister struggle toward her, her emotions varied from happiness to extreme anger. "I'm fine," Cora said quickly, swiping away her sisters cuffed and searching hands. Instead she hooked her cuffed hands under Jo's elbow to help support her as they followed the running woman. "It doesn't matter," Blaze grumbled in answer to her sister's question, "They're all dead anyway. They just don't know it." Her mouth was drawn into a grim line as she imagined burning every person in this place alive.

A southern drawl drew her away from her dark thoughts for the moment, telling her that she would have to remain cuffed. How am I supposed to kill anyone without fire? She thought angrily. When the woman grabbed her hands to tear the cuffs off, a smile quirked the corners of her mouth. The smile soon faded when Rouge couldn't take them off. "Oh, come on!" She yelled, unreasonably. She knew that this woman was here to help but she was in pain and pissed off.

Blaze was getting ready for a real tantrum when the wall blew in. She raised her arms and moved her body to protect Sparks from the debris and what walked through the door stilled her anger in her gut. Cora glanced at her sister to make sure this wasn't normal to her. It seemed to be normal to their rescuer so she tried to swallow the giant lump in her throat. As the mutant approached, she allowed her trembling hands to pass from the woman's to... her other rescuers hands. Paws? Claws?

She was still trying to decide which when the cuffs blessedly slipped off her wrists and clattered to the ground. Blaze closed her eyes in relief as the cold melted from her bones. She glanced at Sparks, her hair streaking red, a sinister smile creeping to her lips. "Are we leaving or killing?" She didn't realize her slip up as she addressed her sister. She didn't know these people, so rescuers or not she would listen to Jo.

Rogue felt a pang of sympathy as one of the approaching prisoners jerked back for her cuffs to stay on. Not so long ago, Rogue might have seen them as an option for normalcy too. It was a thought that did come to her sometimes, but whenever she traveled down that road too far, Rogue knew she couldn't do that. She had to face who she was, always would. Now? Those thoughts were the luxury of an old life, Rogue couldn't afford them anymore, her powers as much as they cursed her, helped too many.

"For now, but yah might need them tah get outta here Sugah," Rogue said in a softer tone to the girl. @Becca's Bliss  "We ain't outta the woods yet," She directed, more sternly to the two set of girls who looked very alike. Run or kill, she certainly didn't see the merit in it, but she knew the world wasn't pretty. Rogue understood that need for vengeance, and if she didn't, Victor's rather loud psyche had no shyness about telling her it'd be nothing more than they deserved. @Jefferson But Rogue wasn't here as a fighter, she was here to lead these trapped mutants out of here.  "Fraid we need tah get outta here an' fast before the cavalry comes a callin'. If yah want tah go on a crusade... Ah'm afraid I can' risk all the other people who are trapped here for it. Y'all will be on yah're own." @Maori @S0urPa7ch

With that said she turned to her previously unseen ally in getting them all out. "Do yah know where the others are bein' kept or can they reach outside on their own?" She asked, @DavidRanger318 looking around and suddenly realizing she'd gotten cut off from Sebastian. She cussed softly under her breathe and started down the hallway she'd lost him in. It must have split off, but if she got them headed that way they were sure to meet up in the middle. She asked him along, though, and she wasn't about to even chance that he might be left behind.

Kam nodded to Rogue @FarFlungDreamer and walked through a door that was shown in a break between the cells. The door, and the concrete around it crumpled under the lizard's brute force. He motioned for the group to follow, and they were now in the next cell block over, where @Shadow was. Kam started tearing cell doors off, one by one. His anger was starting to boil at the condition of these prisoners. He then remembered the main source of his anger. He turned abruptly, his massive spiked tail narrowly mis sing those behind him, and marched off to the "testing" labs. He had to find the lady that was taken from her cell earlier. Missy, Melissa? @PrincessCrystal All he knew was he knew where she was, and he knew whoever touched her inappropriately wouldn't live to see the sun of the morning. He reached the door of the lab and tore it off its hinges, breathing heavily and growling deeply.

(For all intents a purposes, Crystal and Leah can stick with Jamie @FarFlungDreamer.)

Melissa stood in the center of the room. The nullifyer cuff on her wrists held her hands above her head where they were chained to the ceiling. Her ankles were chained to the floor and spread apart, her head hanging down as blood trickled, from a cut on her forehead, down he face. She was still clothed, but just barely as her clothing looked about to fall from her badly beaten body. She moaned painfully as the darkness tried to consume her.

Alone, and slowly loosing conciseness, Melissa was glad when the door was broken down by another mutant. @DavidRanger318 All the soldiers that had been in the room had rushed down to the prison area just minuets before he had appeared. "Help me!!" She pleaded with a broken voice.

He moved and she perked more as he came back with keys. This was happening, she grinned and waved Crystal and the others to her. She'd never been happy to hear the creaking of the door opening, but she was sure as hell happy to hear it now. "My hero," Jaimie said playfully to the nervous boy, winking once before she ran back to grab Crystal's hand.

"Er, lets go," She said, unsure to everyone. The dark hair girl raced out in a panic, and Jaimie couldn't blame her. Crystal insisted on helping Leah up and Jaimie pulled her to her feet where she seemed more steady on her own. "She is," Jaimie said seriously, pointing to Leah and her broken arm. "The guards," She growled a little in way of explanation.

She saw to Crystal getting out of the cell with Leah and turned instantly to some of the unconscious guards, scavenging their uniforms for a weapon she could use. Honestly, the cuffs stopped her powers... but Jaimie didn't know how to use them as well as she knew how to use a knife. The moment she found one, she automatically felt that hopelessness from earlier, that had settled in when she couldn't fight back disappear.

"Hm?" She muttered, still scavenging the second one there. She saw the guy over by Gabe's cage and she jumped up with a quick. "Yes!" Jaimie had promised to help him. "But let me do it, huh? He's kind of twitchy." Rightfully so. She held her hand out for the key before calling in. "Hey Gabe, it's Jaimie... okay? We're gonna leave," She explained slowly, not sure how much he could pick up on things. He seemed smart enough to. @Jefferson When she'd gotten his attention she opened the door and kept talking in case he thought it was guards or something to come hurt him. Guards had to be afraid for a reason huh? She didn't want to get hurt for helping the guy... or animal, she wasn't sure. Either way he needed help. She set the keys reluctantly back in their rescuers hand and turned back to the cell.

"Gabe?" She called, and was thankfully met with that strange quailing sound and what sort of looked like a smile. She smiled back and ushered her along with her hand. "C'mon, we're gonna go... no more hurting you, big guy," She promised softly  again and slowly led him out of the cage to the small group. Alright... now everyone was safe and she inspected the sad excuse for a knife before tucking the gun with its safety on into her belt. She looked back expectantly to the boy, waiting for his lead. "So which way to freedom?" She asked with with a quick grin. @Shadow

the lights from outside the cell were much brighter than in his dank room. As he step/crawled out of his cell his head whipped back and forth, taking in the events transpiring around him. A familiar voice however brought him back from the brink of the would be panic attack. Looking towards the familiar sound he saw Jaime, and almost immediately his narrow tiger like slit pupils, became wide round and cow like. He stood and stretched to his full height, the loud pop of bones filling the air as he stretched parts of him that had been sore for years. Looking at the others around him he saw expressions that were a mix of fear, excitement, and even anticipation, though none seemed very aggressive.

Gabe smiled revealing multiple rows of sharp teeth, and he opened his mouth mimicking a guard from several weeks ago. "You'll never get out." he said in the guards voice. Then he tilted back his head and let out a guttural laugh that sounded almost like a man choking. Even without saying it, the sarcasm was clear.

The Dark

Victor sat in the large truck marked 3 man movers parked outside of the facility. The cab and streets were well lit and the damn dampeners kept him from fixing it. He hated this part, sitting in wait for others to accomplish the mission. Though he did understand the need for a competent getaway driver. Taking a swig from his flask he checked the double barrel on his lap for the 13th time in the past hour.

"You take any longer and you guys owe me a drink." he muttered wishing he at least had a two way radio, but the transmissions would be easily traced back to him and then how would the team get out?

(I'm back guys, sorry for the long absence, hope my return post isnt to out of the loop.)

"Good job," She muttered soothingly, like she would to one of the strays she often times picked up. He didn't seem to take any offense with his funny noises, and instead he stretched. Sort of like a person would, so maybe it was! But he smiled, and she turned with a quirked eyebrow.

She jumped at the clear human voice. She was starting to get he could only mimic human noises, strange... but only a little creepy with the guards. But his point got across and she smirked at him. "Atta boy," She laughed and then peered down the hallway.

Kam's blood boiled when he saw Melissa's condition. He cut the wrist and ankle shackles off, then caught her before she could fall down. He then turned and plodded off to Rogue. When he got to the secondary cell block, he called out, "Rogue, do we have a healer?" The obvious reason being a very battered and indecent Melissa in his arms.

At that moment, an alarm sounded in the distance. He rushed over and handed Melissa to Rogue. "Get everyone out the blast hole to the van. I'll hold them off."

The sound of shouting and storming feet echoed through the building. The secondary barracks had caught wind of the upset. Kam rushed out of the cell block towards the impending danger. The first few suppressor/tranquilizer darts pinged off his scales harmlessly and he roared, loud enough to stun the guards closest to him. Unlucky for them, as their heads were now separate from their bodies, courtesy of Kam's wings. He disappeared from the escapee's/rescuer's sight down the corner to intercept the onslaught, with another primal roar.

the large creature seemed to chortle happily at the positive reinforcement. Seeing her peer around the corner he follows suit, mimicking her actions he peered his large head around the corner. Completely destroying any possibility of their check being stealthy. He looked at the others that were there, all of them had the scent of mutation. He smiled at them before nudging Jamie forward. "Atta boy." he repeated to her.

Sebastian chuckled quietly at the girl's joking comment, but he quickly reminded himself to focus. He nodded slightly, taking in the sight of the little girl's battered arm. "Hey," He said softly. "I'm going to make your pain stop, but your arm will still be broken, so don't try to use it." He explained, slowly draining the girl's pain as he spoke. He tried to hide his wince with a smile as the pain faded into the back of his mind.

He released the keys and stepped back, letting the dark-haired girl open the massive mutant's cage since she seemed to know him (it?). "Thanks." He said softly when the keys were handed back to him. There weren't any other locked cages in this room, so he wasn't sure if he still needed keys for anything, but he held onto them just in case. "Uh...I guess we should...go back the way I came." He said hesitantly, feeling slightly awkward as several of the prisoners looked to him for directions. Realizing that a few people were starting to get nervous, he spoke up so everyone could hear. "Okay, we have a getaway vehicle outside, so everyone stay close and follow me. And, uh, big fella? If you could bring up the rear and make sure no one gets left behind....? And if you could, please, try to remove everyone's cuffs....it's okay if you can't." He addressed the last part to the big creature, trying to word it like a question so that he didn't accidentally piss it off. Hopefully the cuffs weren't stronger than him, that way some of the others could use their powers to defend themselves.@Jefferson

Sebastian started back towards the hallway that he had come through, continuing to draw on the captives' pain. A quick glance back showed that most of them could at least walk on their own, so that was a good start. He reached out ahead of them, trying to see if he could feel the pain of the captives that Rogue had freed. Suddenly he felt someone's blinding pain and he let out a quiet groan as he stumbled and reached for the wall's support. "Were there any prisoners that got separated? Maybe to be tortured for information or something?" He asked the crowd in general, in a strained voice. Torture was the only reason he could think of that would produce such a massive amount of physical pain.

@PrincessCrystal @FarFlungDreamer

Jo would have returned the favor in shielding her sister, but right now Cora was a little faster than her and her ribs were thankful for it. The dust from the blast tickled her lungs and she coughed out the assaulting debris. Jo felt her sister's muscles tense as she leaned on her for support, it wasn't until the dust settled did she see why. The glance from Cora was received, and returned with a down turned corner of her mouth and shrug of the shoulders. To others looking on it was just passing expressions, but to the twins it was an entire conversation that sounded much like: "Dude, for real?" and "Your guess is as good as mine."

Regardless of how she felt about his appearance, he freed his sister from those damned cuffs. There was a moment of relief and then envy as she watched her sister's mutation freed, like watching someone experience the best most relaxing stretch.

"Hey, Dragonheart, my turn!" She extended her hands towards what she saw as organic talon shaped keys. The cuffs fell away and Jo felt a rush of life, as if she had been holding her breath for a long period of time. The sigh of relief that escaped her was audible and she raised her arms to stretch, the lights in the immediate vicinity flickering slightly. In Jo's mind this epic and bad ass scene began to unfold, but was cut brutally short as the sharp pain in her sides practically slapped her back to reality. She hissed through gritted teeth and bent over to cradle her pain, her breaths growing short. "Damnit."

Answering Cora's question was not easy. The heat that radiated from her core was pure hatred for the piece of crap that did this to her, and don't even get her started on whoever did that to her sister. She wanted nothing more than to look him in his eyes and watch the light die out and to give Blaze the chance to slowly toast her own assailant, but Jo was a little worse for wear. Before she could answer the chick who tried to undo the cuffs spoke up, and who Jo took a guess was Rogue, a once upon a time X-Man. She'd never had the pleasure of meeting her face to face, but she'd heard the stories, seen the media coverage.

"Hero mentality." She assured her sister and rolled her eyes slightly at the rescuer, having found her slight tone of authority a tad annoying. "I can't get those cuffs slapped on again, plus I can use the R and R. How about we take the free ride out, see what they know and then take it from there."

Dungeons and Dragons called out to Rogue confirming her guess as accurate. Then a thought occurred to her, how can lizard face speak so clearly without lips? There wasn't time to ponder it as the alarm sound, usually Jo would have welcomed the hub bub, but she was in dire need of a good meal, a nap and some bandages. Jo hobbled, occasionally leaning on her sister for support toward the supposed getaway van. Upon leaving the grounds the van wasn't far, though nondescript. However, she caught herself stopping just short of the door as she laid eyes on the driver, taking a moment to gather her thoughts. And she thought DragonAge was out of sorts?!

"Well aren't you the stuff of nightmares?"

@FarFlungDreamer@DavidRanger318 @Maori @Jefferson

Melissa groaned as she felt herself falling through the air, only to land in someone's waiting arms. She could feel him carry her through the halls and hand her off to someone else as the sirens started going off. "He..lp... me..." She said with a voice so quiet that she didn't think anyone could have heard her. She heard someone say something about a rescue, her eyes opening just enough to see that she was being held by Rogue. @FarFlungDreamer With that knowledge in her head, Melissa let the darkness consume her as she passed out, her powers slowly healing her broken body.

"That's better than painkillers," Leah chuckled feebly as the boy somehow made the pain instantly vanish. She unwrapped her arm from around the small girl next to her and held her battered arm gently by the elbow with her good arm. So she could move without it getting too jostled she hoped. She'd been a nurse, she knew it would be better for healing later if she could do less to aggravate it.

She smirked, glancing over her shoulder at Gabe. Yeah, guess she should move her ass already. The boy spoke up and Jaimie nodded quickly, following his lead and finding the idea of a getaway vehicle almost too good to be true. She'd been imagining some crazy run for their lives from the warehouse through the open highway or through the streets trying not to get picked back off. Apparently these guys came prepared, and she almost dared to hope they'd all get out of here.

They started down the hall at a quick pace and she kept mind of Leah and Crystal as the girl scampered along between the two and Leah struggled to keep up. The boy had been smart to have Gabe in the back though, it would provide them a little cover. Not that she was looking for him to get hurt, but he seemed really a lot tougher than any of them. Not to mention the pure huge size of him, she had been expecting someone... smaller when they were all still stuck in those cages! But it might help, as the sound of alarms wailing and boots reached every hall, sneaking around wasn't necessary anyways. It was just a dash to get out alive.

Jaimie jumped up, catching the boy's elbow as he seemed to struggle to stand up and fell into the wall. Huh? How'd he know that? Then again, how did they know to come save them. "Yeah, actually, a girl, she was pretty beat up but I don't know about what exactly," She explained with a confused frown. She glanced up and down the hallways, feeling antsy. "You gonna be okay to walk?" @Shadow

"Good, stick close," Rogue threw over her shoulder to the girls as she lifted up into the air. She was glad to see they had decided to come. Rogue knew it was hard, but it was better to live to fight another day than to die fighting a small battle. Or to die anyways. James friend returned suddenly and she realized why he'd called out and asked if they had a healer at the sight of the badly beaten woman he was carrying. "Sorta," She replied, frowning again that they hadn't found Sebastian. The alarms started and their window just went down significantly, she realized. Rogue cussed softly as he ran off. "We ain't leavin' without yah, so yah better get back quick," She hollered, but she knew if it came down to it... it had to be the same as those girls. They had to get everyone out, and he'd managed to infiltrate here long enough he had the best chances... hopefully those wings weren't just for show, either.

Rogue tucked the girl against her chest and whispered down to her. "Don' worry hun, yah're safe," She encouraged, and recognized her barely from the video. "Yah're brothers here with us," She added as encouragement, for a damn good reason to hang on. Rogue just hoped James had gotten to the van already. But she had to take the chance, especially since it was just her and Melissa's sister now. That was better odds, and she didn't care... she wasn't leaving anyone behind dammit. Not again, not after Genosha. She wasn't losing one of them to this. She flew top speed down the halls, getting closer and flipping around backwards to kick a few guards out of her way as she did so.

"Sebastian, thank gawd," She muttered the last bit to herself as she turned a corner and saw the boy leaning against a wall. He hadn't been lost, good. She couldn't have imagined leaving someone behind, and it would only provide more harm to the battered around them. He'd been fine on his own it seemed, and found some of the others who had been captured. Rogue didn't think he looked too good, now, though. He must have tried to heal too many people.

"We're almost there y'all," She called to the others, and mostly for Sebastian's sake. It wasn't like Rogue could do much more than encourage him it was almost over, what with the unconscious and battered girl in her arms. She surveyed the few and huffed, they were going to need a bigger van for the fella in the back. But they had to move or no one was going to get out. So she jerked her head and led them all to the opening that had been created for them and kept them mostly in a small group. From the looks of it those two girls and some others James must have found were jumping into the can now. She called into her comm.

"Victa! Get that engine goin' Sugah!"

She called and her heart leapt into her throat as a surge of guards seemed to come from the building behind them and start shooting wildly. "In the van!" She yelled over the noise of bullets to the others and sped forward to get the unconscious girl into the side doors of the van being opened for them. @Jefferson @Shadow @PrincessCrystal @DavidRanger318

Kam spun around, slicing through several guards as he moved fluidly down the hall. He heard shots fired outside. "Great," he muttered. More guards were at the van. He had about had enough of these games. With a blast from his mouth, the rest of the guards in the hall, adjoining intersections and stairwell at the end were engulfed in white-hot flames. With the immediate threat from within the building stamped out or at least halted for the moment, he spread his wings and flew back towards the exit he blew in the wall. He emerged to see more guards firing on the group. "No you don't," he growled and flapped his wings furiously, bowling over a good number of them in the process. This distracted the majority of the group and made them turn their fire on him instead. Exactly what he wanted. "Use your powers, come on, come on..." he muttered, hoping the group at the van would snap out of it and help him take these brutes down as he slashed through line after line of the seemingly endless army. He scorched a few with his breath before flying up and hovering, drawing their fire once again. He thanked God that He had blessed him with such hard scales while in this form.

once victor saw the others coming, he quickly reached into his jacket pocket to pull out a cigar. Lighting it up just as rouge shouted for his to fire up the engine. "I'm on it toots." he said grinning at the other girls stuff of nightmares comment. As the bullets ricochet off of the van the engine came awake with a start. "get in chumps." he shouted over the sounds of the gunfire.

Gabe turned his head sideways at the man who asked him to bring up the rear. But he obliged walking behind the group as they made their exit. When he was asked about the dampeners he just looked at the man with his head cocked to the other side, clearly not understanding what he was asked to do. Instead he eyed the group of mutants that walked in front of him memorizing their scents. The sound of boots and gunfire when he got outside startled him for a second, three stray rounds bounced harmlessly off of him causing the surprise to turn into rage, turning to the guards he let out a roar that sounded like the horn or a train. Looking around briefly, the hulking monster dug his claws into the roof of a Honda civic parked near the truck. With a roll of its massive shoulder the vehicle was airborn flying at the hole the soldiers were coming from. At first it seemed that gabes aim was off as the car slammed into the wall above the men with a loud crunch. But as the car fell, ruble fell with it, sealing the hole with debris. Turning his massive head towards the group he opened his jaws "In the van." he said in rouges southern drawl. The beast then curled his fists tightly and began to lumber towards the guards to help the other ,winged , beast.

A large pink tongue lolled out of Oy's giant muzzle as he trotted along after his master. The bond between Blaze and Oy is almost supernatural in nature. Not a lot could keep them apart and he would search until he found her or was dead. The heat from the pavement scorched his paws but he continued walking, unerring toward his destination.

Blaze grunted in response to Rogue's spiel about not taking a stand at this particular moment. Her mind quickly calculated and decided that in her current state it would not be wise to follow her rage into a battle she could not win. Blaze pressed her lips together, hesitating only a microsecond before following her sister out through the hole in the wall. She bore the weight of Sparks through gritted teeth without complaint on their way to the van, though her own body was shouting in protest.

Cora glanced at her sister sharply "Don't insult the help, dude." She said through a smile. "Get in the damn van." She said laughing, while trying to shove Jo into the safety of the van. Her smile faded quickly as dry cracks that could only be gunfire filled the air. The alarm had been blaring for several minutes. "Damn, they're slow." Blaze muttered under her breath as she looked around wildly for their assailants.

Blaze could see guards with semi automatic weapons flanking the group of people exiting the building. Anger pulsed in her temple as her hair once more streaked red. Her lips pulled back into an almost painful grin; her right hand raising to waist high. The orange ball that formed in her palm was hard to the touch, the roiling flames contained in the ball seemed to pulse with her anger. She tossed it easily toward a small group that were closest to the vulnerable group. The subsequent explosion was immensely satisfying.

This was the moment she loved the most. Her vision blurring to red as she let her most primal instincts take over. She walked closer to the guards and threw another ball point blank at the snarling creature's chest. She caught a whiff of burning flesh as he flew backward into a rush of oncoming guards. " To the van!" She yelled, not really caring about the, group but wanting to have a clearer killing field.

A blur of grey startled her from her zone and fear stabbed into her heart. "Oy, no!" Blaze screamed as her dog lunged toward the nearest guard. The automatic weapon clattered to the ground as the big dog grabbed the arm and shook mercilessly. She threw another explosive fireball at a black clad guard that was pointing their gun at her beloved. "Oy, to Sparks!" She shouted over the din and thankfully. He turned to her, his mouth wide in a grin she would swear was from pure joy.
Blaze swung her head around to the van was horrified to see how far away she'd gotten from safety. She concentrated hard and a 6 foot tall wall of fire blocked off what remained of the guards from herself, Oy, and the prisoners. It flickered and almost guttered out but she managed to keep it together through she force of will. Oy yelped as a bullet grazed him and they limped their way back to the van.

Oy jumped up with some help from Blaze and she immediately grabbed his face. "How did you even find me? I told you to hide you big, dumb galoot."  She turned to the driver. "Think everyone's here, dude. Can we get this party bus rolling? Some of us need tending."

The airborne Honda zoomed by Kam's face. He capitalized on the distraction made by the great lumbering beast @Jefferson and cloaked, swooping down and slicing through the straggling few that had escaped the creature's wrath. He felt fire impact his back and turned to see a red-eyed, red-haired olive skinned beauty sending fireballs into the group, one unintentionally hitting him as he was currently invisible. @Maori He thought she'd be overrun, but she barely managed to erect a wall of fire at the last second.

Still cloaked, he sliced through the last guards as the wall of fire died down. He grabbed one that was close to Blaze and launched him directly in the path of Apex. Once he saw the field was clear, he decloaked next to the van, reverted back to his human form and stumbled in. He slid in to the seat furthest to the back and promptly put his head back. He'd pass out soon due to the amount of energy he'd expelled in the fight. He needed something to eat, and fast. He tried to let someone know, but...he was...so...tired... He turned pale as he began to slowly fade from consciousness and slump in his seat. With all the fire attacks being used during their escape, Z-13 was glad she had kept her cuffs on. This body may have been more vulnerable to many other forms of injury, but she did not miss the feeling of literally starting to melt whenever the temperature became too hot. Even now, the heat of the flames felt suffocating. She didn't understand how people could stand to be near it. Pushing her thoughts and discomfort aside, however, she was able to enter the van and grab a seat. She looked around at the others, observing them. The winged reptilian man who had been cutting off everybody's cuffs was currently passed out, she assumed from exhaustion. There was another person or creature who she recognized from one of the cells. Part of Z-13 appreciated that at least she looked mostly humanoid in her natural form, but she still didn't want to change back. Her eyes rested on the cuffs still on her hands, and she started debating with herself about when she would finally take them off.
