Graded [Noghe Village] - Trouble with Trolls and Music

Lothric

E5sTKNoXEAErDyg.jpg:small

As Lothric was noticed by more and more people, he was stunned to find that most of the population didn't seem too frightened of him. He looked around, this time taking in more of his surroundings, and found a once vibrant town almost completely reduced to rubble. Large holes frequented the houses closest to the road, and the state of the people was dire indeed. "It feel weird..." The dragon thought to himself "...when you're not the one causing destruction. Seeing it first hand, and the people it effects... What is this feeling? Fear? Sadness? I had never felt sadness about my job before."

Turning his attention back to the three oddities amongst the crowd of humans, he first turned his attention to the oddly dressed human. As their eyes met, instead of flinching or looking away, the human seemed to laugh through his fear and play even better, letting the rush of emotion fuel his art. A form of respect formed in the pit of Lothric's chest for this man; deciding to face adversity head on instead of fleeing. That was a trait that Lothric needed at the moment...

The next to catch his eye was the humanoid tree. Her complete lack of fear and self preservation actually startled Lothric, freezing him in place. Anything that wanted to touch him that badly probably had some anterior motive... right? She seemed to fiddle with some sort of musical contraption that seemed to puzzle both Lothric and its user. How innocent was this being? Was she truly this... quirky, all the time? He appreciated the song that she sang for him: it stroked his ego just enough to not want to flee for now.

The beast man was the oddest of the bunch. While his instrument didn't hit as high of notes as the human, it combined with the human's instrument made the performance twice as good. He watched as the man's face went from shock to delight as he screamed for Lothric to roar for him. The dragon squinted his eyes at the beast and snorted in rejection. As if he'd do something for someone he'd just met.

Lothric edged closer to the edge of the rooftop he was sitting on so he could be within earshot of the group (but outside the reach of the pink one) and addressed the group. "I haven't been here long, but I've heard your plan as well as your talents. You've got courage to face adversity with something non-violent, but what makes you so sure that you could win?" He extends his wings, going inwards and then out, as though to point out the area around them. "Whatever did this far surpasses the strength of a human... so what drives you?" While he wanted this answer to justify whether or not he should help them, in reality he wanted the answer for himself. Since he had been sentenced to the mortal plane, Lothric feared every day for his own mortality. Any day he could be struck by lightning or trampled over in a freak accident, not unlike the lives of humans and similar folk. If they held the secret to thriving in this world, then he needed to know.

Adam "Legion" Keith

The villagers stood strong against the dragon; they showed no fear thanks to this new feeling they had acquired from the music the three musicians, together they were able to create a emotion within these other wise, cowardly and superstitious folk. It was almost like magic but at the same time, it wasn't. Their eyes were cleared, this strange noise these three produced was able to inspire even the lowliest of civilians.

Adam stared at the dragon was it spoke, he took a couple of steps forward, listening to it speak. He still hadn't realized that this was a dragon, a real dragon before him. Before them. He was still unaware if being in a new world, despite all he has seen and heard so far. Adam's eyes were steeled as he was asked what drives him, most likely the question was asked to all three of them and not just him. Adam was ready to play again but as he was getting ready to start strumming his instrument, he heard rumbling in the distance.

Outside the village, Lothric would see an incoming force, a large group of tribal trolls on their towards the village, either their rage of losing their shamans brought them here or the music they were playing echoed across the land and was able to bring them here, to the source of it all. And they were coming in a large force, there had to be over fifteen of these trolls, carrying large weapons and pieces of animals. They were roaring in their madness.

Adam looked to both Rob and Ophenia with a look of determination, he was ready, ready to play. Not fight, they came for them, they had. The three of them were able to inspire this crowd, they could calm these beasts. Adam took a deep breath and gently began to play a somber tune, hoping to see if Ophenia and Rob hop in as the beasts were coming, they would have about thirty seconds before they came in full force, they could very well kill all the civilians if they did not cull the rage of these beasts.

Ophenia.png
Love for the world, the happiness of others.
Why. Why must you scream? The sylphid thought to herself. Though sylphid biology shows that sylph's don't have actual ears or normally only have them visually, they are still capable of "Hearing." Sylphid's would feel sound, hearing it through what would be called their "Cor." But Ophenia's poor little useless ears still cannot handle the howling of Rob. How could a singular creature make such a loud noise. It's as amazing to her as it is painful. But after such loudness, he then quieted down a bit.

Only to make an horrendous statement. Like when an actor's lines are reflected in their glasses or when a performer breaks character on stage, Rob muttered something which was not meant to be heard. How could he not think that the dragon is cute? Is he blind? It's big adorable eyes, and elegant form, Isn't this the epitome of cuteness? But the sylphid was taught to always have kindness in her heart, so she pardoned him this time. But a las, one shan't forget. She too will shame something he found cute, and so she shamed whatever the "Duck Fur Pain Ya" was. I hate Duck Fur Pain Ya, I bet whatever it is looks like an ugly mishapen lycoris magiflorae, she proudly thought to herself, Hah. Take that. 1 for 1.
SurprisedPikachuDotLoveYou.png
And then he started screaming again. This is fine. I am fine. The sylph's whole body felt like a wobbily lotus, just barely staying afloat in a pond people would often skip rocks on. What startled her more than that was when the adorable dragon began to speak. Dragons could speak? Her train of thought began to get going once more. Of course they can speak! she read this in a book once while she was studying what humans like. What book was it? Folktales and Fairytales by uhh... The author wasn't important, but it was in a book so it must be true! Ah, I'm brilliant to remember such useful facts of humanity. Sadly, in blissful ignorance she stayed, because she didn't seem to understand that that was a book for reading children to bed.

The answer to the dragon was quite easy. For any sylph at least. Even if Ophenia was much different from an average Sylph, she still had a similiar if not the same goal as them. The difference lies within the way she does it. So twirling around, her adorments swaying with her movements, letting the resonator flutter above her palm, she looked toward the dragon. She was excited to tell him, to give him her sole reasons for existing. But then for a second, she hesitated. This was odd, normally she'd never hesitate like this. But then another loud noise was heard. Far off in the distance. Interrupting another potential reality paradox moment for the sylphid's one way train of thought.

"Who the heck keeps pulling on my non-biologica-" She turned over in frustration, facing the other two she stopped. Was it time? Are they nearing? She couldn't really tell. But her petty anger was now instead replaced with overflowing excitement. A happy crowd, a cute dragon and I didn't have to walk to the trolls? What a perfect day it is today! It was time to add to the noise herself, as she put the resonator in both her hands. Letting herself and her mana flow within the mystical crystal of the Resonator. "Let's see what colour today's performance will be in..." The sylphid said to herself as she raised The Resonator into the air. It started to flutter into the air, leaving behind a trail of sparkling light. It started to hover a fixed distance above Ophenia. She wondered if the trolls would be able to see the resonator's light.

For a second, the sylphid wondered if she could look as cool as the human did while he was playing his instrument. Unfortunately, her mana was like dust so it would probably end up falling into her eyes like sand. And sand hurts. Especially in eyes. She looked at the palms of her hands, it was still sparkling from the leftover mana that had coalesced with the resonator. A thought came to mind, "If I rub my mana off on something or... Someone... they could be all sparkly... oh my Eryngium, I am a genius." she softly mumbled to herself.

Can you stick mana to people like glitter? Or would it fall off like sand? The sylphid was already planning this genius idea for later shenanigans but, for now, she had to focus on the task at hand. It was time for a brilliant debutante.

Rob Howler

Howler crossed his arms, his face miffed. The dragon didn't fancy his suggestion of roaring, as if such an activity warranted consideration. It was just a roar, not like it would hurt him to do it, though it might scare the villagers. Thinking of them, he glanced at the crowd around them, and to his surprise, they were as steadfast as him. He expected a few of them would be grovelling as soon as they saw the mythical beast, but none displayed anything beyond their stoic determination. Within his mind, he raised the position of these villagers up a notch, seeing their bravery. Then again, the dragon in front of them looked too small to be scary, at least for him. He's seen hill giants and ogres, and most of them towered over the simplefolk like a tree. The dragon in front of them just reminded him of a winged horse with weird skin, and weirder eyes. He even began to carry doubts, was it really a dragon? He'll verify later.

As he was about to attempt another round of persuasion, he felt it. Like before, a light rumble filled the air, though this one would cause a normal man to become distraught. The source of the shaking came from the distant hills, but they aren't distant enough, quite frankly. Trolls. Many of them. Terrifying and most of all, noisy, the monsters ran towards the village with apparent malice. His sharp ears caught the madness in their cries, one he's heard frequently amongst his tribesfolk whenever an animalistic rage came over them. These trolls wanted something, and this something may be in the form of flesh and blood. Worriedly, he glanced at the crowds with a nervous look. He was full of confidence earlier, but seeing the trolls charging at them so wildly, he became aware of the dangers of failing this endeavour. Perhaps the dragon could help them! As he was about to persuade the dragon for different reasons now, he heard Adam play. The deep emotion calmed the flustered Howler as he inhaled deeply. Dragon or not, they were bent on taking the trolls down to party town!

Activating [Boomboost E] for the nth time today, he once again followed the guitarist's lead. This time though, he began twisting the knobs on Shape of Thunder's head. Where it used to be a normally deep strum, it combined with the lightness of Adam's playing. For some reason, he glanced at the dragon with expectant eyes. It was big, and could likely emit a tone like the hum of a mountain. "If roaring not good, then hum, great dragon! Let crowds and trolls hear of your might, like legends foretold of dragons and brood!", unlike his earlier demanding tone, this was softer, but just as strong. A suggestion, one rife with a sense of longing. He still wanted to hear the dragon roar after all, but humming seems like a solid alternative!

Lothric

E5sTKNoXEAErDyg.jpg:small

As the trolls approached across the open fields towards the town, Lothric seemed to focus, almost to the point of forming irises within the white fog that one could call his eyes. More than a dozen of the beasts were thundering towards them, brandishing weapons and animal carcasses and roaring with a might different than Howler's: one of rage, sadness, and desperation. The dragon tightened his grip on the roof of the dilapidated house, the vibrations from the stampede feeding into his growing fear... a fear that gave him two options. On one hand, his wings wanted to drag him as far away from this place as possible, perhaps even into orbit if the fear was strong enough. On the other hand, his legs refused to move from their spot, hoping, pleading that maybe if he stood still enough he would be confused for an odd decoration on this half ruined house.

Both options filled Lothric with anger. He had never had the displeasure of feeling such things before, and the paralysis was a hinderance he never wanted to feel again. Was this how normal people felt when shown adversity? How many had felt this when he would wave his claw and entire planets would be turned to rubble? Would they even know why? Thinking about it, did he even know why most of the time? His eyes had been clouded with all the power that he possessed that he had never even attempted to think of what anyone else could possibly be thinking. Deep regret formed in the pit of Lothric's chest and it weighed down on him like an anvil had fallen onto him.

The thing that broke Lothric from his stupor was the somber tone struck by Adam. The dragon looked incredulously at the human: "He's still planning to go through with this?!" No words were spoken, nothing was debated and no alternatives were proposed. The musicians simply nodded to one another and began playing without a second thought. Did they not feel the fear Lothric was feeling? How could they play on through the fear of death? The confusion of the dragon freed him of his paralysis, but his body still refused to move itself. He found that there was nowhere he wanted more to be than right here, alongside these brave mortals.

It was that moment when everything clicked. Like the missing ingredient from a recipe, one word answered all of his questions from earlier: determination. This was no act to hide or frighten the opposition away; it wasn't even a performance for self preservation. These three musicians were filled with the determination to fight against the growing danger: the determination to fix what was wronged and make everything right again. Bravery, heroism, and determination emanated from these three mortals, and it was enough to clear the fog which had covered this former god's eyes.

Now that his irises were clear and he could focus on the situation, the words of Howler kicked in. He wanted the dragon to present them with a show of strength, and Lothric didn't want to disappoint. The dragon leapt down to ground level with the three mortals and unfurled his wings, which looked as though the essence of night itself had opened behind the musicians. The jewel on the dragon's forehead glowed with red light before releasing beams of red light that washed over the performers and the oncoming crowd of trolls. What Lothric had meant to do was fire a beam of light into the air, but it appeared as though he would have to work harder to obtain his former glory in more ways than just physical might. What he had done unknowingly was created an atmosphere that Adam would feel at home with, almost like that of a stage.

Adam "Legion" Keith

1649569412097.png

Adam quietly played his tune, a somber tone upon the notes that were released into the air, his finger gently caressed the weapon within his hands, his eyes closed. He knew the notes, his heart told him where the notes were, where to play, how to play. Adam blocked out the world around him as he played this calming and sad song, it reminded him much of the hard times of dealing with his family and what they wanted rather than letting Adam choosing what he wanted. Luckily he was very proficient in the guitar but he played metal to rebel and eventually fell in love with it. Adam only wanted to be accepted by his family but that never happened, so instead Adam found and formed his own with his band mates that he hoped were still alive. He would find them. This tune he played was one he felt of love, love for his lost band members.

He wanted these trolls that were coming in their rage, their stomping, Adam was able to block it out of his concentration. He wanted the trolls to feel the love as well, the love for those that they had lost, their former shamans that gave them music, eventually he would hear Rob Howler join on in. Legion opened his eyes, silver wisps flowing off his eyes into the air. The guitarist had tears coming down his cheeks as the dragon flew up behind the three musicians, continuing to play the tune perfectly, the hymns of the villagers joined in creating a welcoming tone as Ophenia's resonator flew into the air as a beacon, Legion felt like he was back, back on the stage but... He could see visions of his bandmates, walking their own paths now.

Legion's fingers never missed a string, never missed a note, the stomping of the trolls got closer, they could see the beacon and were coming straight for them, rage in the air now. Eventually as they drew closer and closer, their eyes could be seen, anger and malice in them. Until the tunes of their music was projected out thanks to Rob Howler, their music was able to reach the rampaging trolls and eventually, they slowed down when they heard the music till they were walking now rather than sprinting through their madness. The hymns of the villagers guided the trolls to the performing musicians. Finally able to cull their anger and hatred, the trolls that stood before them were massive beings. The smallest was about six and a half feet, these beings could easily destroy them all if they wanted to, bearing large weapons. They lowered them, their eyes full of sadness, each dropping their weapon.

1649654855875.png

These trolls then finally joined in with the hymns the villagers lead, Legion wanted them to feel the love they had for their Song Sowers, eventually before the clan of trolls came a strange benevolent spirit, an ethereal being conjured before them now that the clan was finally calmed, Legion didn't dare stopping playing as this song was keeping them from becoming angry again. This spirit then raised it's hands up to the skies, where over the village, the skies went dark, a pitch of black before stars then appeared, she then began to sing to the clan. The universe was what she was showing this clan, this must have been one of the Song Sowers for the tribe. Both villagers and trolls quieted down as she spoke in a very calm and silky voice.

We sail through endless skies
Stars shine like eyes
The black night sighs

The moon in silver trees
Falls down in tears
Light of the night

The Earth, a purple blaze
Of sapphire haze
In orbit always

While down below the trees
Bathed in cool breeze
Silver starlight breaks down the night
And so we pass on by the crimson eye
Of great god Mars
As we travel through the universe.

1649655516090.png

It knew the lyrics, to Legion's surprise, the spirit let it's arms go and looked back to the three musicians, bearing a smile to them, one of appreciation and gratitude. She then disappeared into thin air and the sun appeared once again. Legion felt like it was time to end the song, taking them out and finally finishing the tune. Once everyone quieted down, the trolls before them looked content, some had tears rolling down their faces before they picked up their weapons and began to walk around the village, helping rebuild the damage they had inflicted. One large troll walked up to the villagers and musicians. And dragon. He took a knee and lowered his head. Speaking in a very deep and grueling voice. " CLAN NAKUM IS VERY SORRY FOR ATTACKING. WE WERE ANGRY FOR OUR SONG SOWERS BEING KILLED BY RIVAL CLAN. WE INFLICT PAIN ON HU-MANS. WE REBUILD VILLAGE BETTER. SONG BROUGHT SONG SOWER BACK. TELL US WE HELP HU-MANS. BETTER THAN THIS. " The troll stood up and walked around the village, helping his clan rewrite the wrong they caused.

Adam gave a sigh of relief, so that woman was their Song Sower it seemed. They were able to help the trolls and villagers in one, thanks to a song of love, their shaman even knew about the lyrics to this earthly song. Trolls were weird but they were also very intelligent. The villagers looked very happy and rejoiced in this outcome. They each looked to the musicians and thanked them, even the dragons, they all cried out to them. Thanks being buried underneath another wave of thank yous. It was a good feeling to have, Adam thought.

Lothric

E5sTKNoXEAErDyg.jpg:small

As each troll thundered across the plains towards them, Lothric thought that his heart was going to leap from his chest. His claws dug into the paved ground beneath them but he held firm, committed to standing next to the foolish mortals that he now found himself with. As the trolls stopped to hear the song, the dragon's heart hand breathing returned enough to hear the song that Adam was playing for them.

The sight of the old shaman filled Lothric with a sense of wonder. He knew about the ethereal plane, having been a being borne into it, but seeing the whispy form of the figure reminded him of one of the other gods: the only one that could have been considered his friend. Sadness and remorse for his actions welled up within the dragon, but not a tear was shred, for he knew that this punishment was entirely his fault. Because of the actions he took in his other life, he would never get to see the one he called a friend ever again; the same tragedy that the trolls were going through.

Once the serenade was over and the shaman had returned to the spirit world, the trolls threw down their weapons and accepted their defeat, but unlike before Lothric understood why. They saw the error of their ways and swore to atone for their actions, something that Lothric would have to being working on. In their celebration several humans attempted to touch him, but a quick glare from the dragon convinced them otherwise. The only one this trick hadn't worked on was the slyph, but Lothric doubted that he could have stopped her even if he had tried.

With the embrace over Lothric took to the air and looked down at the crowd, particularly at Adam, and nodded in respect. This human had dragged him through so many emotions in a few hours that would have taken Lothric years to experience otherwise, literally clearing his vision and broadening his horizons. Soaring above the town and into the clouds, Lothric wondered how he would begin to use his banishment to atone for his past sins.

--. . - / - .... . / ...- --- .. -.-. . ...Colourful lights, For each everyone, shining brightly. So many voices, within a wave of songs. All singing together in beautiful harmony, instead of being the one who takes the stage, the Sylph became a part of the crowd as all their voices soared centre stage. The only thought that could come to mind was how much she loved this. Within the crowd of songs, one stood out from the voices. An instrument played a sad and sombre tune. People would often say songs like this were calming, relaxing, but how could you relax when you were almost brought to tears? As much as Ophenia wanted to, she still needed to keep her focus.
TwinklingDotLoveYou (1).png

Dancing to the beat of the melodies, a droplet of sweat trickled down the sylphid's cheek. The song echoes from the resonator, the voices of the people. Ophenia couldn't help but smile, though the songs probably didn't call for it, both her heart and her persona demanded it. In doing so, she channelled a bit of her mana to the tips of her fingers, creating a trail of sparkling light and she twirled in place. The sylph only got even more excited after seeing the troll nearing and even more so after they dropped their weapons. Did the plan go as planned? The resonator's light began shining even more brightly as an ethereal and ambiguous figure had manifested.

A thought came to mind, though a stupid one. Why did a fae just birth out of nowhere? On the other hand, as she looked closer, it actually seemed that this phosphorescent apparition was not a fae of any sort. Well it could be, but Ophenia didn't study the official "Encyclopedic Documentation of All Known Creatures - Chapter 6: Manifestations and Apparitions" now did she? Though the apparition did look kind of sylvan, on the other hand as they opened an illusory conjuration of the sort and sang some sort of aria, Ophenia couldn't help but stare in absolute awe. And then she went, poof. A look of sheer flabbergasted shock was written all over the sylphid's face. This is witchcraft.

As the "concert" had concluded, Ophenia saw the trolls start helping out. She thought to herself in solemnity, why was everyone so scared of these trolls? They seem really nice- As if she had forgotten that they were also the ones who destroyed the houses and crops, but they never did hurt anyone now did they? Well not that I know of. Ophenia turned over to look at the dragon, but as soon as she did they soared high above the sky. How unfair, sylphs can't fly, she still wanted to give them a pat for helping out. How could the sylphid ever repay her gratitude? She looked into the sky like a maiden longingly looking out to the sea. Maybe one day, they shall meet again. One Day.

The resonator floated down, As Ophenia grabbed it as it flickered before going bleak. She quickly put it into her poach, as she turned it over to the two musical makers. Smiling in contentment, Ophenia was happy that she could help people with what she "wanted" to do. While gesturing to the other two, she said, "So what do we do now?" she asked curiously,

Adam "Legion" Keith

1650512906631.png

The villagers were in awe of what was happening, they did it! They helped stopped the trolls! The same trolls even began rebuilding their homes even better than ever, at a pretty quick rate as well. The trolls that weren't building anything began building a wall around the town to prevent something like this from happening again, a group of trolls left the village to go find materials to start building the wall. Adam was amazed to see what these trolls quickly do, they were truly a powerful and hardworking people, Adam moved his head seeing the dragon behind him begin to flap its wings and fly into the air, Adam stared up at the oversized winged lizard, their eyes met for a moment, but it seemed like an eternity.

The metal musician eventually watched the dragon fly off, his head turning to rapidly repaired village, it was beginning to look better by the second, these trolls worked quick! The villagers were rejoiced to see the power of music has saved their town. Adam was happy that his music was making a difference besides being entertainment and to pass time for other. He was able to save people's lives using his talents. It felt great honestly, these people were inspired, the look in their eyes show that. Adam felt proud of his actions, he held untold power of inspiration.

Hearing Ophenia's question of what they would do next, the musician turned to face the Sylphid, he had felt something in his music while playing, he had felt his brothers from his band. They were here in this world. And he wanted to find them. Looking to the pink woman, Adam shrugged.

OOC: Thank you for participating in this RP! Not my best work, I'd honestly say it was my worst so far, but I am appreciative that you all joined this rp! Thank you again!

Isekai Hell RP Grade

The RP started rocky, with an unclear goal until it finally came to fruition a few posts in. Luckily the RP grew into something better with the mention of trolls and allowing characters to use their instruments. The RP came to a slow but was able to rise back up with the appearance of a dragon and danger of dragons. RP ended with a happy ending for the villagers and the trolls were able to find peace, all thanks to the group of musicians and a dragon.
