In Character Roleplay

-Rose Sabella-

Rose woke up early that morning, helping the maids and butlers get everything ready for the royal children to do their daily schedule. She barely slept that night, always checking if Emrys came back or not...which he didn't. What is that boy up to? The red sighed as she continued on with her chores of preparation. It took awhile, but she was done and with the maids waking the children up, the red head knew she had to start planning for the next day's schedule.

As she walked close to the grand hallway, she heard Bramble's voice shortly after...Malice's. Oh no-! Instead of running in the room like before where she lost her composure, Rose inched closer to the doorway, hearing what they were talking about. 'Bramble, please don't provok- Too late.' The red head thought, almost exasperated but glad. At least she still has her fighting spirit in tact. Good.

Taking a deep breathe, Rose gathered up her courage and put on a passive expression before revealing herself to the cruel king. "Good morning your Majesty. All the preparations for the children are done. They should be awake by now, Sire." She bowed to him, closing her eyes so she wouldn't rolled them.

"Your breakfast should be ready as we speak, Sir. Would you like to eat in your room or at the dining hall today?" It's a routine to ask the king if he would like to eat in either rooms and she would go to the kitchen to tell the maids and butlers to bring the food in said desired room.

 "Why you rotten-"

Bramble was cut off as Rose entered the room, her yellow-green eyes flaring in anger at Malice's words. Bramble herself, needed to bathe. Her green corseted dress, covered in chocolate smears, and had bits of hay on it, her dark hair tangled in dark locks. Her head throbbed after Malice had slammed her against the wall, along with her hand Malice was pressing hard upon.

Bramble attempted to yank her hand free, but Malice was much stronger then her, had he smiled at Rose, pressing his long fingers tighter over her hand.

"Yes, I can see that. Considering two are missing." Malice said softly and quietly, his eyes bore straight into Rose's.

He released her hand, slowly sliding his hand off her hand and Bramble instantly took a quick step towards Rose, not wanting to be anywhere near Malice longer then he made her. Just being around him made her feel stifled. More then anything she wanted to huck something in his face. But a step was all she got. In one lighting-fast movement, Malice snatched her by the wrist from behind her and pulled her right against his chest, where she should've felt his warmth, but did not, he felt incredibly solid, like brick wall or something his other arm grasped her hard about the waist. Bramble hid her fear, her heartbeat felt like it wanted to leap out of her chest, she could feel it through her corset, beating rapidly. She masked fear with anger, clenching her jaw, her bright eyes flaring up as she attempted to pull away, but failed, his grip nearly suffocated her, she struggled, managing a good kick to the knee. Humiliation filling in her gut.

Malice dropped her wrist, but kept his hand hard around her corseted waist, his other hand slid up to her neck, his silky gloved hand trailed slowly up her back stopping at her neck, where he slid her dark locks off her shoulder, over to her left shoulder, exposing bare skin to him close enough so she could feel his cold breath on her ear. Bramble shuddered. Malice whispered something in Bramble's ear, her brows arched in surprise, then furrowing in confusion at his whispered words and Bramble paled, although she still kept her mask of anger up.

Malice looked back at Rose, a small smile showing his long dimples.  It was a silent threat to Rose. Showing her how easily he could hurt the children. "Thank you, Miss Sabella. I'll be taking breakfast in my room today." Malice said, his tone still  gentle and soft, chilling in so many way. That wasn't surprising. He hardly spoke to the children, nor cared for them. So he never ate with them. Thankfully. Or Bramble would've leapt of the balcony.

He leaned down and murmured  something in Bramble's ear again, his lips curving into a smile as he did so and Bramble closed her eyes as he spoke, every cold breath in her ear made her actually want to leap off the balcony, wishing he was dead, rotting as some decaying corpse. Bramble was pressing her lips so thinly together they weren't even visible. A sense of overwhelming sense of dread filled her.

He smiled, staring at Rose with his dead black eyes, and after a long moment, stepped away from Bramble. Malice walked away, his cape grazing the marble, smooth and graceful, and his footsteps literally silent.   Bramble stared after him, her yellow-green eyes flaring brightly, pressing her lips together and she looked like she could actually kill him. She would if she could, that was for damn sure. She prayed her siblings returned quickly and wondered how she could get them to avoid Malice's wrath. She was gonna kill Kaladin. Rose couldn't look after them all the time. Kaladin needed to care for them. It was his responsibility. At least, in Bramble's mind it was.

Eric had only heard slight commotion as he readied himself, done cleaning, he put on his royal guards outfit, a clad armor set that fit tightly around him (he was big) but gave the slight illusion that he was broader than he was, it had the kingdoms emblem on either arm, and a small link of chain mail that covered the front. As he set his armor and put his sword to his side, he walked out of the barracks and towards the main hall, not really knowing what to do before this royal ball, as he had been instructed only to be back in time to stand guard while it was happening, and it was a couple hours away. He made his way into the great hall, now finding himself thinking of the royal children, a truly brave bunch to put up with Malice like they do, and was completely ablivious to the fact that most of everyone else awake were searching for one.

♔ Elisa Harcourt ♔

Elisa kept on glancing over her shoulder watching out for the stable hands to begin there work. Thankfully she was up early enough to avoid them and had groomed an tacked up her horse quickly enough. Taking the reins she lead out her horse before putting her foot into the stirrup and mounted up before riding off towards the local town. She reached there in due time, taking the route through the forest where she was less likely to be seen wandering on the open roads. Having a few people meet her at the edge of the town she began calling out for a few of the people, the poorest of the families there. Handing out the bread, see was invited in to have breakfast with them but knew it wasn't a good idea. "Malice will wake soon and I needed to get back, I'll stay another time." Speaking calming a smile came onto her lips before she rode back out, it would take some time before she got back to the palace but that was the least of her worries at the moment.

Abenthy Majere

After falling asleep in his lab the night before, he got up and stumbled outside. God he was hungry, he didn't eat anything the night before nor did he eat in the lab.

As the three rules of chemistry:

Label Clearly

Measure twice

Eat elsewhere

He walked groggily around, musing at people cleaning up the night before. He really didn't want to run into Malice...but he was curious about what happened the night before, so he made his way to his room, and by extension, the Royal children.

As he approached the hall,  he saw Malice strolling out of one of the rooms. Ben spun on his heel, but realized It'd look even worse if he just fled. So he turned back around, and headed to his room, though going slow so as soon as Malice was gone he could see what happened in the room he was just in. As he walked past he mentally hit kicked himself...he had forgotton to bow.

Bramble stared after Malice another moment. Taking a deep, calming breath. Feeling her gut twisting inside of her. Game on Malice. Before storming into entrance hall, her eyes were flaring. She'd have to find her siblings before the guards brought them to Malice, maybe if she was lucky she'd get them to lessons on time. It'd be harder, considering she didn't know who she was looking for. But she knew there personalities enough. Elise was so blasted sweet and caring, she probably went into town to see the people, or do something heroic. The other one, Bramble hadn't a clue. There were so many secrets these days. She'd have to a sharp eye out.

Bramble was a complete mess, but she didn't care at this point. Bramble grabbed a cloak hanging by the double doors, and threw it around herself before flinging open the double doors and slamming them behind her, to much in a hurry to care.

Bramble ran ran down the two steps and into the paved, circular driveway. That circled around a green island in the driveway, just for sight. Bramble ran towards the stables, grabbing the nearest horse and hoped on it, unsaddled. It was a pure white steed, and it took Bramble a couple moments to realize it was Malice's steed. Good. Maybe she'd ruin its perfect mane in town.

Bramble uncomfortably shifted on the horse. She hated riding. She knew how, she just hated it. Bramble have the horse a little pat, and Bramble took off for town.

The horse slowed as Bramble pulled into town. She grimaced at the sight.

"Oh, hang." Bramble said. "Our city." She said, disappointed. It was ghastly. Malice had left these people on there own, he couldn't care less about them. They were hungry, and poor. Bramble was pale as she looked at the ghastly sight before her. She trotted through town, scanning through town looking for a familiar face. She felt ill, the horse moving beneath her made her want to puke, she felt queasy.

Finally she spotted Elise, riding back towards where she had come from, towards the palace. Bramble let out a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding. She quickened her pace towards Elise, nearly falling off the stallion as she did so. Bramble rode up next to her, turning the horse around so they walked at an even pace.

"Well Els, YOU have caused quite the scandal. Malice nearly had a fit this morning." Bramble said crossly, not caring about her appearance. She really needed to wash.

@Kiowa

When Kaladin saw Bramble heading into town, he knew something was up. He quickly sheathed his swords. While running for the stables, he his mind flew through all the things that could have happened. He quickly saddled the horse and spurred it on into a gallop. It was time to find his idiot siblings that still weren't back. Emrys was his main concern. That boy didn't know how to keep his desires in check. Wait did any of his siblings have any self control? Once he had reached the city, he tied his horse outside the city and began running through the town. He dashed through the crowds his eyes snapping from person to person. Was that Emrys. Yes that was him. Kaladin reach out and snatched his collar. "What do you think you were doing young man?"

♔ Elisa Harcourt ♔

Elisa and her horse had been riding out from town for a while at a steady pace of walk, her and the bay were kindred spirits, and worked well together. Elisa would be fuming if anyone else was to ride her horse. Glancing round at the sound of other hooves coming behind her, she smiled slightly seeing who it was. Elisa went to speak until Bramble got there first. Her head hung and her brows furrowed, disappointed in herself she didn't respect that Malice would most likely get up and find someone to punish before she could get back. Feeling foolish she sighed, looking back up to Bramble. "I'm sorry Bramble, I had to come out here. They are hungry, cold.. Most of them barely have skin on their bones. What happened to you?" Her gaze scanned over the rough and un-tidy Bramble quickly, taking in her state of dressing and the dirty across her face.

beautiful-cute-fashion-green-eyes-lips-Favim.com-458321.jpg
Bramble pressed her lips together, arching an eyebrow and glancing around. She couldn't blame Elise. She was right. The sight of there once lively city was...horrid.  Elise was so blasted sweet, who was Bramble to stop her? She was just a girl after all, as was the rest of them. Just children.

She snapped back to attention as Elise asked what happened. She looked down at herself, as if noticing for the first time of her appearance. She still wore the same dress from the night before, chocolate and dirt smeared on her dress. Her dark locks in tangles that nearly reached her waist, and she looked pale, from her encounter with Malice.

"Aye, that blasted dungeon."

Bramble said before adding, "Where did the rest of the wee chicks go? Who else is in town?" Bramble asked Elise, her eyebrows arching with a wry grin.

♔ Elisa Harcourt ♔

Elisas head sunk hearing the rest of her siblings had gone walking about as well. She knew Malice was going to be hell-bound mad when they returned. But, it was their own faults sort of, or at least that's how Elisa viewed it. "I'm sorry you got into trouble last night. As for the others, I don't know I let early this morning, most were still asleep. I did see Kaladin training though." She shrugged her shoulders, she didn't know. Slipping in and out of town was easy for her, always had been even when there parents were alive. Though she wouldn't be punished for helping the poor. Taking in a breath she patted her horse gently and caring unknowing to what would happen when she returned home. "What do you think is going to happen when we get home? What Malice will do.." Her heart sank, she was worried again.

beautiful-cute-fashion-green-eyes-lips-Favim.com-458321.jpg
Blast it. If wasn't Kaladin, then it could only be Emrys, the wee chicks certainly wouldn't sneak out.  Bramble smiled at her sister, but it hadn't had any wryness to it.

"Right now, that rot is too busy planning his celebration to give a rat about us." Bramble said, her yellow-green eyes flaring as she remembered Malice's cold breath on her neck.  "As long as you stay quiet, and stay out of his sight, you'll be fine."

After a lengthy pause she said, "He's making me attend the ball tonight, along with Kaladin." Bramble said with a sour look on her face, as they rode towards the palace.

((@Inheritance she left the RP today, sorry :/ ))

Robert Poricue

Robert was not in a good mood to say the least. For one, he hadn't had so much as one sip if alcohol for a month. He was too busy doing menial tasks for Malice. He'd sooner kiss the dead king's ass than wash the boots if Malice. If course, kissing the King's ass was one of the many jobs he had to do before Malice's reign. It was all in the life of a tutor.

For another, he couldn't seem to find the damned royal children anywhere. He knew they loved to adventure, at least the elder ones die. The younglings were more brash but hopefull. The babysitter seemed to have done well with them. As for the elderlings, they seemed to be worse than Malice. Though matured, their age only escalated arrogance beyond duty. Then again, Robert always seemed to be the more grim servant, a hefty statement given the guards being about.

Robert stepped into the Palace halls, nodding politely at the other servants and then giving respectful bows at the nobility. It was all in passing and good faith however though it was often tiresome for his back. He was an old man who has seen the best and worst in life. He shook his head. On the briflght side, the castle looked as beautiful as ever. The servants had been forced to labor in order to appease his lordship. It was worth it to keep the false lord happy than to see another innocent soul damned by the staff of the Wizard.

Inside the main halls, the guards lined up in their ever so pristine armor. The guards in the main halls of course were the ones of the most veterancy. They were the most trusted and most ruthless. It was of tradition before that the head guard nominated their soldiers. Now the false king had chosen his own possy of ruthless and crude "soldiers". Sinners and demons seemed more appropriate. He dared not look at Malice. It was better to find the Children first rather than to face the false king. Suffering his wrath was of no use to him today, especially given what he had heard this morning.

Abenthy Majere

Well he saw the girl storm off, Malice paid him no attention so that was a plus, but he had to ask what was going on. So he followed the girl, though she kept a much faster pace, he still could see her get on a horse and bolt off towards the town. Damn. He was a horrible rider. Guess he'd walk. No way was she going there for too long, he'd probably catch them on the way back. Oh well. He began the walk, all the while singing:

"A Tinker's debt is always paid

Once for any simple trade

Twice for freely given aid

Thrice for any insults made..."

He also pulled out a small dagger and started to carve a block of wood in the shape of a raven. He was good at carving, and he could carve and walk on the empty road, though he would glance up to look for the Princess.

Elisa furrowed her brows as she looked towards Bramble. "He's holding another? Guess I can catch up on my piano then." Elisa smiled looking onward she dreamed one day she would be able to play it for a ball all of her own. But that wasn't going to happen any time soon, not while Malic was around anyway. She glanced over to Bramble for a moment with a small smirk on her face however. "Maybe you'll see your prince again tonight." Giggling shortly after. Her eyes lit up thinking that maybe Bramble would find a suitor sooner than she thought, someone who understood her more than anyone would. Elisa hoped to find love one day, but she was too young. In a couple years the suitors would have arrived but while Malice is around, that wasn't going to happen.

|Emrys Harcourt|

Emrys squirmed in the man's grip. He'd venture to guess Frederick had caught up with him. He considered screaming bloody murder; someone would likely help him; and then he saw Kaladin.

Emrys had used to idolize Kaladin, back when he was but a wee lad. His brother was everything he wanted to be: strong, brave, and chivalrous. He remembered waiting at night for Kaladin, excited for the stories his elder brother would always tell him before bed.

That was a long time ago.

Now, Emrys saw him for what he really was: a spineless coward. The moment Malice took over, Kaladin was there. He was like a dog, groveling at Malice's every whim, following his every command. To Kaladin, nothing mattered except the throne, and whoever sat upon it.

"What does it matter to you?" Emrys spat. "Are you going to drag me back to Malice in hopes he notices your petty loyalty?"

Bramble gave a snort at Elise's comment, but two spots of red appeared on her cheeks as she thought back to Tobias. Remembering his laugh when she had kicked Malice in the knee, and his deep, intense eyes.

Bramble looked at Elise with a wry grin. "Aye, just wait until you have suitors. The gentleman will be mad after you." Bramble said wryly, moving her eyebrows up and down suggestively. It was true. Elise was beautiful, and she looked older then her age. It wasnt rare for suitors meant for Bramble, to try and court Elise, much to Bramble's amusement. Her father would throw them out that very day, Bramble grinned at the memories.

Bramble glancef back back ahead of her, the palace wasn't far now. They'd definitely make it in time for lessons, Bramble would have enough time to get the wee chicks down to lessons, and wash up. Just then, Bramble caught a glimpse of a familiar face, she straightened, trying to catch a glimpse of the face again.

"Oh, hang." Bramble hissed, leaning over and grabbing the reins of Elise's horse, stopping her as well.

Abenthy.

"Abenthy?! What the devil is he doing here?" Bramble seethed angrily, backing her horse up and nearly falling off it in the process. Her goal was to get back to the palace with her siblings WITHOUT getting caught. Bramble quickly trotted into an alleyway, pulling her sisters reins to follow, not wanting to get seen.

In the alleyway, a squabble between two young men was unfolding, Bramble almost passed them until she realized-

It was Kaladin and Emrys.

Bramble instantly slid off her horse, needing an excuse to stop riding the damnable horse, her yellow-green eyes flaring up. "Emrys, Kal, you great idiots, what are you doing out here?" Bramble said, her tone a touch quieter considering Abenthy and guards were on the streets.

Momentarily shocked by the fact that another Harcourt had just dashed by him on his horse, Frederick stumbled in his stride. The guard caught himself on the stoop post of a city tenement and resumed sprinting down the pair. Kaladin didn't even seem to notice him, though he wasn't sure how with his obvious uniform and musket in hand. His run slowed into a trot as he ran up to the boys (he still considered Kaladin a boy, even though there was only a difference of a few years between them). Now the guard was winded and a mite more irritated than before. Didn't they know he was on their side? "Bloody hell... *heavy breathing*. You lads are going to get caught for certain running around like this, we need to get you back into the palace -discretely- right about now, or there'll be hell to pay. Yer lucky I'm on rounds today, if it was someone else Malice would have yer hide."

It was just about then that yet another Harcourt arrived. If he got caught with them trying to sneak into the palace, he was dead. That realization forced him to present his message more urgently than before. "Great. Three Harcourts. Bramble, I hope you've come to gather these two and get to the Palace, because if you haven't I'm surely a corpse walking. The commoners are likely to know all about this disturbance and not all of them are still loyal to your parents, we need to move, now."

He was humming along, carving his block of wood which to his great pleasure was looking very much like a raven-and for only a few hours it was going great. He in fact was focusing on this more and more, and got to the point when he didn't even see the road ahead of him, and who he was looking for slip into some alley. Well he heard the hooves of the horses, and they made lots of noise for just trotting down a road, so he glanced around. He stayed in one place, listening. He wasn't sure why...but it was certainly strange to see no horses around yet have just heard hooves trotting. He could swear he had heard it. It surprised him how many guards that occasionally passed gave him a sideways look like he didn't belong there, wearing what he was (though he wore casual wear in the lab, Malice instructed him to represent nicely, and the guards kept giving him sideways looks because he wasn't a prince...but he was fairly young to be at such a position. Only 26, and he looked younger then he was, they all looked at him like he had stolen something. Whatever. He called one of them over and was about to ask if he had seen the girl, however he figured that with guards crawling all over the girl wouldn't want to be seen as she obviously hated Malice. "I saw them on the west side of town. Three of them. You should take a look at that." When they just stared at him, he flashed a small insignia, showing he worked in a high position at the palace.

After they left, he waited in the same place, occasionally looking around, but sticking in the same place. He knew he heard something. He sat down and began to finish the bird, silencing himself, considering what to do next...He didn't wanna go on a wild goose chase for the girls when they could easily slip past him, he wanted to hang around the entrance, closest point to getting back to the castle.

(Okay, I'm only doing this because my post was stupidly deleted by RPnation, and it's too late at night and I'm too annoyed and tired to start up another long post.

Basically, Deborah wakes up to find Eve offering her treats she got from the kitchen. After having some time to actually wake up and see herself in the mirror, and remember all those events yesterday, Deborah goes to the window that overlooks the gardens. The window's slightly open, and Deborah hears folk music and gets a michevious idea in her head. She convinces Eve to go outside and go into the village. With some nagging, she does, and soon, Deborah and Eve are sneaking out of the castle, taking a short visit to the kitchen for Eve to snatch some snacks. They make it outside undetected, going through the back doors of the castle, only used by servants and guards. They sneak around and avoid guards, eventually ending up against the wall. They find a hole in the wall, a result of the attack a few months ago, not fully finished. They sneak through the hole, but Eve accidentally cuts herself on the arm, crying out in pain. The cry catches the attention of guards, and Deborah and her younger sister scramble to get to the other side. They do, and run gleefully to the village, the guardsmen's voices ringing in their ears.)

Bramble took notice of the guard there, and she looked about ready to attack him and pounce on him, fixing a celery green glare on him, until he spoke, and she softened. Bramble grinned wryly at him, as if he were uttering the most ridiculous nonsense. That was Kaladin's job, not hers. She didn't fix things.

"Pfffft, Kal's clearly doing a great job of this-oh, hang, " Bramble said amused her eyes fixed on Kal. Bramble cut off at the sound of a commotion behind her. "She's gone and done something rash. Well, at least we can see it from here." She said, peeking out of the alleyway, referring to Deborah.  Seeing Deborah and Eve fast approaching, guards pursuing them and yelling, not far behind the two gleeful little girls. Bramble leapt back, horrified. Six Harcourts?! That's half of them!

Bramble sighed, knowing she'd have to do something. Bramble didn't think. Bramble prepared herself as the girls neared the alleyway, it was easy to spot the girls amoung the crowd, who did there best to try and shuffle out of there way amount the crowded streets. Bramble lashed out like a viper, snatching both Deborah and Eve's arm, with both her hands, yanking them into the alleyway, with the rest of the Harcourts. Elise, Emrys, Kaladin and a guard. Now including Deborah and Eve. The guards ran passed them, now confused as to where the girls disappeared.

Bramble grinned down wryly at Deborah, delight and amusement in her yellow-green eyes. Even though she looked ghastly. She couldn't help but feel prideful. She'd taught her sister well. Bramble was, by far, a terrible role model.

"Aye, at least don't drag Eve into your wicked schemes." Bramble said wryly to Deborah. "A ripping performance, Ann." Bramble said, a wry grin plastered on her face.

Eve burst into bawls for no apparent reason, and Bramble had to slap a hand over her mouth, knowing the guards were coming in no time at all. Bramble shot a look at Kaladin and the friendly guard. They needed to get out of there, and quickly.

Meanwhile, in the palace, a guard nearly slammed into Tobias, breathless from running so quickly. He placed a sweaty hand on Tobia's shoulder to support himself, panting. After a couple moments he finally regained enough breath to speak.

"H-he-he, His Ro-royal H-hi-hi-highness wants to s-see you in the-the parlor room. Now." he said, looking up at  Tobia, a spoon sized mark on his face from the day before, he was the newest addition that had grabbed Bramble in the kitchen, after she had given him a hard time.

The guard leaned against the wall, clearly out of shape as he regained his breath.

Elisa had remained on her horse this whole time. Listening to everyone squabble amongst themselves as her eye fluttered over each and everyone one. Occasionally she glanced round towards the exit of the alley way. Her hands tightened on the reins noticing Debroah and Eve had now joined them, she rubbed her forehead confused to why all the Harcourts were even out this early in the morning. She sighed before speaking.

"Look, I can ride Deborah and Eve back to the palace. Malice won't even notice they were gone if I am quick enough. Can't say the same for me, I've been gone a long while."
Elisa's brows furrowed for a moment before looking back up to Bramble, Kaladin and Emrys. They were the older siblings, and she felt as if she needed their permission to try, after all, she was already in enough trouble.

There was no way he could have missed that. People getting pulled into an alleyway? Well that could be a number of things...but considering there were young ladies pulled in, it was his job to help. Shit.

He crept forward, holding a short sword (of very poor quality, he could barley use it) and yelled out into the alley. What he beheld was....well...
