Catrina Lea Everwinter / Gryffindor / Year 5

An orange haired female slowly boarded the Express train, carrying what appeared to be a small and light luggage bag on her back. She smiled and waved at familiar faces, her smile gentle and soft, sort of like a loving mother. She took a seat in one of the empty places and pulled a book out of the small, light luggage bag. She appeared rather interested in the book and began to slowly block out the surrounding noises of fellow students boarding the express. A small smile played on the girl's pale, thin lips as she read, obviously entertained. She suddenly looked up from her book, looking around to see if she wasn't accidentally ignoring someone. She let out a gentle, relieved sigh when she realized she wasn't. She placed a colorful bookmark into the crease of her book, closed it and held it gingerly as she looked outside of the window, as if she was afraid of breaking the book. She smiled, excited for what adventures and fun she would have this year at Hogwarts, the best place that the girl could think, maybe even the safest. She watched as students filed quickly onto the train, as if they were to be late at any moment. The girl appeared rather calm, maybe even a bit too calm. She showed not even one bit of excitement or emotions, though she was secretly bursting with happiness inside. She leaned back up against the seat and let out a calm, slow breath before looking out the window again.

Adeline Sherman \ Ravenclaw \ Year 5

"Adeline Will' Sherman! Your late- Oh you-" Cried Addie's mother as she called out her destinations name, flashing a brief lazy smile before throwing the dusty powder on the base of the flu she dissipated into a plume of green tinted fire. Running a hand through her massive hair mass, instantly clicking her teeth in annoyance as her hand was ensnared in the unruly mass, Adeline strolled at a leisurely pace, her top having patches of soot marring the crisp white fabric. Nearing the train she heard the calls of departure, sending her into a somewhat graceless stumble up the stairs, clutching her messenger bag close to her side as she worked her hair into a messy bun. Understanding that at this point in the loading process there would be no empty cars she began to search for a relatively empty car, spotting one with a singular passenger she slid the door open somewhat quietly. Taking note of the fiery hair she smiled, recognizing the Gryffindor's seeker. "Ehm, You don't mind.. Do you?" She questioned gesturing the the adjacent seat with a somewhat shy expression painting her face.

Irene Jack Dean/ Gryffindor/Year 5

Irene stepped into the train as if she owned it. Her smile filled with excitement for the new school year. Her father taught her a boat load of new spells, Her mother gave her a CD of her new favorite muggle band, and she practiced her quidditch skills all summer. This was year was going to be great, she just knew it. She greeted everyone she saw from Ravenclaws to Hufflepuffs. She had always been social especially when she haven't seen anyone in a while. While she was looking for a place to sit, She spotted Catrina, leaning against her seat. They are currently on the same qudditch team and sparked up conversations from time to time in the past. Irene always thought that Catrina was a great seeker and admired her for that. Irene slid open the door, smiling. "Hey Catrina. There's no more seats so i hope you don't me sitting here. How you been? " she said taking a seat gently placing Neva, her owl, next to her. She then turned to the other girl in the room. "Oh sorry, I should introduce myself. I'm Irene." She said letting out her hand to shake, trying to be as polite as possible.

The girl jumped slightly at the sound of the other female, but smiled brightly at Adeline. "Yes, Yes of course! Feel free to have a seat!" Catrina's voice was gentle and silky sounding, and her words flowed together easily. She held a gentle smile on her face as she returned her book to her small red luggage bag. Running a hand through her hair, she let out a sigh. "It's good to be heading back, isn't it?" Suddenly, Irene came in, making Catrina jump again. She mentally yelled at herself for being too jumpy. She smiled at the girls, her icy blue eyes lighting up yet keeping a soft, gentle look in them.

"Yeah. It's going to be awesome!" She said grinning. She was looking forward to showing off the new spells her father invented and her flying moves. But,mainly she was looking forward to the food. Her mouth was starting to water by the thought of it. She turned to Catrina then asked. " So what did you do this summer?"

Drew Collins / Slytherin / Year 5

Drew reached the Express train, extremely late for his fifth year in a row. He had been through this routine so many times over the years that his parents had just stopped coming to say their goodbyes. Since he had no one to part ways with, he simply climbed aboard, filing past students to find his fellow Slytherins. Drew had no luck and rolled his eyes at the fact that he would have to endure a whole ride with students of the other houses. Annoyed, he barged in on the last open room he could find and was not pleased. There were all girls, two Gryffindors and a Ravenclaw, he recognized them from last year but didn't bother to remember their names. This surely would not be a great way to begin the year. Interrupting the conversation that was clearly taking place he said, irritatedly, "Well, this is just great, isn't it? There's no seats left out there so it looks like I'm forced to ride with you all." He pushed past the freckled girl and claimed his seat across from the two Gryffindors. "So, what are your names again?"

Adeline Sherman \ Ravenclaw \ Year 5

Slightly startled by the appearance of the girl- Irene, Addie smiled back her face lighting up a tad at the prospect of a somewhat peaceful ride to Hogwarts. Addie smiled again as she began to answer the girls greeting with one of her own. When suddenly she was jolted by the appearance of the somewhat rude boy, "Well, this is just great, isn't it? There's no seats left out there so it looks like I'm forced to ride with you all." He had claimed, Addie's face darkened a shade as he pushed past her, while slipping into the open seat next to him, though remaining careful to sit as far from him as politely possible, she answered both the girls greeting and the boys question. "I'm Adeline, you can call me Addie if you'd like." She smiled softly again.

Irene Jack Dean/ Gryffindor/Year 5

Irene rolled her eyes as her smiling began to fade while the boy walked in. "Yes please come in. You are definitely the person I'd want to see." She said sarcastically. She was normally polite most people but he was one of the exceptions. They had a couple of encounters and it wasn't pleasant. But there was that one time, She used a spell that freezes people on him in their 3rd year. Oh good times. She leaned against her seat crossing her arms. "I'm awfully offended that you forgotten. But If you care to be reminded, it's Irene Dean" she announced smirking.

Drew Collins / Slytherin / Year 5

Drew sat there, totally unfazed by Irene's harsh reaction. In fact, he even laughed a bit, "Well Irene, you really think I wake up everyday and wish to be in your presence either? We're both just going to have to deal with it." He folded his arms. "As for you," he gestured towards Adeline, "I remember you now. You're the half-blood from Ravenclaw. What a shame." He sighed, shaking his head disapprovingly. Blood purity was an extremely important value in Drew's family.

Catrina Lea Everwinter / Gryffindor / Year 5

Catrina's icy blue gaze quickly went from a soft, gentle look, to a sharp and mean look. She gave Drew a glare and ignored his question.
"If I were you, I'd watch your tone. I'd rather not get into a fight on the first day back." Her voice was no longer gentle. Rolling her eyes, Catrina looked over at the other girls. "Don't let him get you girls down, he's not even worth the trouble. And as for you, Drew," She paused, "You know who I am." Catrina smiled gently, remembering a time that she had almost got suspended by beating him up last year. She only did it once, of course, but had left him with some rather serious injuries. Catrina also knew him because he was on the opposing Quidditch team. Catrina had always been the sweet girl until you pissed her off, then you were probably going to be her punching bag. Of course, she's not really the "violent" type, per say, just easily angered. Catrina heard the train beginning to rumble, a sign that it was about to leave. She leaned back in her chair, letting out a sigh. "This is going to be a long year..." She mumbled to herself. Catrina wasn't really in the mood for Drew's crap, so she simply ignored the Slytherin male.

Irene Jack Dean/ Gryffindor/Year 5

Irene was so tempted to sucker punch him in the face but decided to only say. "Anyways pretty boy. I don't think Adeline would be interested." She said looking out the window then at her watch. She found Catrina's response hilarious and started to laugh. She started to remember the time when Catrina got in that fight with Drew and how Irene was cheering it on. She kind of felt bad for Drew, He really had a thing for being targeted for those types of things. But then again He did deserved it."Don't worry we're going to make a lot of great memories aren't we Drew?" She said grinning his way. She was glad she and Catrina was friends, Though Catrina was calmer and Irene was overly energetic they made the perfect team at times.

Drew Collins / Slytherin / Year 5

Drew smirked. He found enjoyment in ticking off Catrina; with him around, she always had such a short temper. He remembered last year's fight between him and Catrina. Although he was beaten, it resulted in Gryffindor losing 50 house points because the school knew Drew's parents would come with complaints if the situation wasn't addressed. Last year, he had been hesitant to hit a girl, but this year he was prepared to fight back if necessary and had twice the muscle on his body. He turned to Irene, "I'm flattered, but I'm not planning on making any memories at all actually," he told her, "or at least with you. The minute I step off this train I don't intend to perform any social interaction with a filthy Gryffindor."

Azrael Le Fay

Azrael had said his goodbyes to his Uncle. The Le Fay let out a long breath as he stared at the massive train in front of him.
'Another year eh?' Let's hope something interesting happens.' Once he had finished loading up his luggage, Wizard made his way to look for a compartment. So far he had seen none of his bunk-mates, though he didn't expect to see Drew. His friend was normally late on this day. As he approached the last cart, he stopped, hearing a familiar voice. Eavesdropping on the conversation he decided to intervene before his fellow Slytherin said or did something he might regret.

"Dean." He called out, stepping into the compartment behind the male and gazing at the females gathered there. "Dean, Everwinter, Sherman. I would appreciate it if you did not bring up last year. I was very...displeased to see my friend out of commission for so long." His rage had been something firece when he learned what had happened. It had only been his Head of House and his own self control that had prevented him from seeking revenge. Instead, he focused that rage towards the Quidditch Cup. And it was all too satisfying when they had won last year. Never the less, Azrael still took a seat in the compartment and motioned for Drew to do the same.

"But, last year was last year was it not? So let's let bygones be bygones, neh?"

Irene Jack Dean/ Gryffindor/Year 5

Irene scoffed at Drew's plan. "Well good luck with that." As soon as Azrael said her name, Irene jumped a bit. She then turned to Azreal then letting out a smile. "Oh hi, Azrael. Great to see you again." She said as her manners finally came back to her. Azrael was more mature and self control than everyone so Irene always respected Azrael though he was a Slytherin.

Azrael resisted the urge to sigh at his bunk-mate. Couldn't the other male see what he was trying to do?He smiled at the Irene and nodded at her. "It's a pleasure to see you again as well Dean." A pleasure? Over-exaggeration. But a necessary one. "I trust everyone is prepared for their owls this year?" Everyone in the compartment was a Fifth Year after all.

Drew Collins / Slytherin / Year 5

"Finally someone I can put up with," he muttered as Azrael entered the room. Azrael was always much more reserved than Drew and had kept him in check ever since they were both sorted into Slytherin. Drew came to respect Azrael and knew that underneath all the polite remarks, he still had the bold Slytherin attitude so he went along with his change of tone in the conversation. "I'm sure I'll ace it," he answered, "my relatives have taught me everything I need to know."

Adeline Sherman \ Ravenclaw \ Year 5

Addie found herself beginning to drown out their conversation when the fact of her being a half-blood was brought into light, she never felt comfortable with most Slytherins because of their habit of being mostly very biased against those who had any kind of muggle relation. Biting back a sigh she found herself drawn to staring out the window, seeing as the view outside was far more entertaining than that of the floor between her shoes. Glancing up briefly as another Slytherin entered their compartment, forcing a lazy smile she turned again to the window a shy feeling of insecurity grasping her trachea in a way that made it a little difficult to swallow, pulling her bag further on her lap she let out a small sigh between her lips. What a day, and it has yet to actually begin. Addie thought to herself as she felt the train lurch to life beneath her feet.

Azrael jokingly rolled his eyes at Drew but had a before chuckling. "I'd expect nothing less from you.." He turned his head to face the freckled ravenclaw before speaking. "What about you Sherman? You think you're ready for your owls?" The female had been rather withdrawn and Azrael had no doubts it was the comments about blood purity of lackthereof that his fellow Slytherin had made.
'Blood purity, what a stupid concept.' He, who out of everyone here had the purest and most noble bloodline even saw that. 'Ability and Magic will always trump blood...' While it was possible that the former two may come from the latter, it did not mean that the latter was a pre-requisite.

"Likewise. I'm sure that the Owls will be easy. " She said confidently, after all she did have perks since her father is head of the Auror office. As Azrael mentioned Adeline. Irene turned her attention towards her. She hoped that Drew comment about her being a half blood didn't bother her. In her opinion that was a problem. Irene always loved everything about muggles. Their music, shows, art. Everything about them just made her think that they had 'Magic' of their own. But then again she probably got that perspective from her mother. To try and cheer Adeline up, Irene grinned then announced. "Of course she is, she's a ravenclaw after all. Succeeding is her thing. Right Adeline?" She wanted to encourage Addie and make her show them that she could be great even if she was a half blood.

Adeline Sherman \ Ravenclaw \ Year 5

Clearing her throat as she turned to the others in the cart she pulled her lips into a smile, "I'm sure everything will be fine, I doubt to get top marks, but who knows, perhaps I might make fair marks." Addie laughed a bit pushing her hair behind her ear nervously as she nodded, "Though I have yet to diligently study, I'm sure I'll gain some knowledge in classes." Adeline smiled again resting her nervous hands on her bag, the cool worn leather her father- a hard working muggle, had bought her before she had left, the soft texture holding a somewhat calming nature for her socially worn nerves. She decided it would be simpler if she kept the drama out of the situation, swallow the discomfort and ignore unnecessary conflicts.

"For the record, I do know Ravenclaws who have flunked out of Hogwarts." Azrael looked out the window, the countryside now approaching as the train picked up some more speed. "Speaking of classes,Anyone switch out elelectives this year? I'm still taking Arithmancy and Ancient Runes." Though after this year he would switch out one of them for Magical Theory or Alchemy. It was decision he still was having trouble to make. "Can't wait for the Quidditch season too. Do try your hardest not come in second place this year Dean." He finished the jovial statement with a wink at the Captain for Gryffindor, letting her know that it was all in jest.

"We'll effortlessly make first place this year, Just you wait and see. By the end of this year you'll be swelling with tears." She said smirking at him as she leaned back in her chair. She already knew how to alter to offense, defense, and everything else. She was propered to lead her team into victory. Though she was little nervous since this would be her first year as captain, she knew she could step up to the plate. "And I do think that I'm taking Arithmancy this year but I could be wrong but for sure I'm taking music"

Drew Collins / Slytherin / Year 5

"Is that so?" said Drew, totally disregarding the conversation about this year's classes, "Well I'll have you know I was picked as the new Slytherin captain so you better watch your backs, we have all new muscle on the team this year handpicked by me and Azrael right here." He slapped Azrael on the back. "Gryffindor will be an easy victory," he told Irene with confidence.

She raised her eyebrows as she said"Really? Well since you'll be the new captain in that case... It'll be an easier victory than I expected." She said giving out a mischievous smile on her face. Knowing her was the new captain gave her more the ambition to win this year's cup. She loved a bit of competition especially when its from a personal rival."Especially since you were probably picked because your parents."
