Heroes of Tomorrow

His eyes, previously unfocused as he was lost in his thoughts, sharpened. He looked over to her quickly.

"Yeah. It's Toby. Why?" The pinapple floated towards him and peeled itself. The skin and leaves floated back towards Sera as the insides stayed with Toby, cutting themselves up into little cubes fit for consumption.

Why did she ask that? he thought. Kinda an odd question to ask considering they've been hanging out for a little bit now. Unless... He pushed thoughts from his mind again, just wanting to relax.

@JPax

Sera

Sera grabbed the skin out of the air and quickly ate the entire thing. She kept the leaves in her hand. "Just thought about it. It's different from my name. Names are weird." Sera looked down at her feet, which were now shifted one behind the other.

"Well, now that we got food is there anything you...um...have to do? I mean we could just go back to HOT and train. But in the end it's up to you." Sera thought about doing just that. She found solace in improving her skills to be a hero. Sera was always spending her time in the facilities, which explains why she was rarely out in the first place. However, it would be a nice change for her to follow Toby around for once.

@Cipah

"I wanna do something heroic, y'know? Not really done much heroic stuff since I joined up. Perhaps the HoT isn't my kinda thing... I dunno." He looked at her for a moment. Looking her head to toe. "Do you maybe…" he began, curious. "Do you wanna have a fight? Test powers? See who's are better?"

What better way would there be to get to know more about what she was than to fight her? How better to understand her powers than to experience them being used on him? It made sense to Toby, but he was unsure of whether this girl was a fighter. She was at the HoT, thought her personality made him dubious as to whether she was capable of any kind of violence. Hell, he wasn't even sure if she was all right in the head.

@JPax

Sera

"Are you kidding?" Sera flinched nervously. She was trained in fighting but sure as hell wasn't about to go up against someone two years older than her without having a good reason to. Two years meant two years of more experience. Either way, she looked around for a place to make it happen. Maybe HOT was the best place to try.

"Okay...we can." Sera quickly turned to the HOT base and began to make a walk there. She was definitely a bit hurt from falling, but that wasn't going to stop her from trying.

@Cipah

"Sweet," Toby said, grinning and completely oblivious to her misgivings. He wasn't planning to tear her limb from limb, of course. He was eager to feel what she could do, though. He was under the impression that she was powerful, seeing as how she could  contain all her psychic abilities within her frail form without medical intervention. Toby was somewhat envious of this—the powers running rampant was painful and the drugs binding them was similarly slow. Perhaps that meant his psychic abilities were superior to hers, though he wouldn't know that until he felt her attack him.

@JPax

Sera

As Sera walked back to the HOT towers, something else seemed to change in her movements. The rather fragile and delicate movements from before were only a cover, for what she lacked in psychic abilities was made up in physical power and durability. Her flight wasn't any more psychic than say, the mere skill of being able to walk without falling.

Underneath those sleeves were two arms that had the power to withstand the force of a car. Her stomach could stand a direct strike from a baseball bat. Her legs could exert enough power to break through concrete, an advantage that humans like Toby unfortunately didn't share. There was a presence of strength in her step as she neared the HOT towers, and that nervous smile from before...distorted into a smirk.

@Cipah

Toby, following behind Sera, didn't catch the smirk. He did notice the change in her gait, however. This perplexed him. She didn't seem so timid anymore. What was this? Was she mentally preparing herself from combat? Toby swallowed the nerves and attempted to shrug off his worries. No-one had even given him trouble before; his psychic abilities  had been more than a match for any opponent he had faced in his life. He decided he should also mentally prepare himself for battle. He had a strange feeling about what was going to happen. He wasn't as confident as he felt he should be. Perhaps that was because he knew barely anything about her. She was a mystery. Ah well, he thought. It'll be fine.

@JPax

Sera

Sera walked into a circular training room under the HOT facility. She looked at her long sleeved shirt. Nope, that was too much for Toby to grab with telekinesis. Sera pulled it off to reveal a black undershirt, something that didn't suit her expression or attitude at all. She turned towards Toby with that smirk again as she raised her fists...defensively?

Sera often fought defensively, though she wasn't afraid to mix it up. Movements especially were a key part about her strategy. She stood near the center, in the circular room, in the first circle. "Ready when you are." Black definitely didn't suit her. The sudden change in attitude was what happened to Sera in a fight. It was a biological defense, is what she usually said. In reality, she sort of liked it.

@Cipah

Toby faced her on the other side of the arena, one eyebrow raised at her rather contrary attitude. This change was weirding him out to say the least. He sighed and cast those thoughts from his mind. Nervs were counter to his ability. He took a deep breath in through his nose, holding it for a long moment while drinking in the silence. After a few seconds he let his breath out through his mouth.

"Ok," he said, raising his hand. "Let's go."

A command spoken by his mind travelled to his hand and expanded outwards. His will transmitted to the air, causing it to ripple into a deadly force charging towards his opponent. The connection would be like hitting concrete. Toby didn't expect it to connect, though. He was purposely being deliberate in his actions. He knew his attack was easy to manoeuvre around. This was just a little warm up. Flexing his powers properly after his recent pill.

@JPax

Sera

Instead of moving, Sera's left foot slid along the ground and rooted itself firmly in place. Her delicate fingers raised themselves in the air and the force immediately exploded outwards in an arc away from her, with a loud crack. While Sera's psychic power wasn't innately powerful in the sense of coordination and manipulating objects, she did make it up by linear force. After all, she was only able to exert telekinetic force and not actually be an esper.

Sera pulled her hand back and thrusted it forwards. The air rippled with twice the force her opponent sent at right back at him. At the same time, she began to walk forwards. More often than not, she was barefoot. And right now, Sera didn't have any shoes, which made her steps all the more sensitive. Her eyes narrowed as she began looking at Toby's muscles, attempting to predict his next movement.

@Cipah

Toby reacted quickly, using his telekinesis to deflect the air being returned to him. The force drove him back a little but he was unharmed. Eyes wide, he watched as she approached. That wasn't what he expected. She seemed to be big trouble. She stood there and took his blast, sending it back twice as strong as if she was mocking him.

He gritted his teeth in a determined smile. He was going to enjoy this. Focusing energy around his fist, he struck the earth. The energy transmitted into the ground and travelled towards her. On the way it launched the earth upwards, giving rise to sharp stalagmites as it travelled towards her. He wondered how she would deal with him using the ground beneath her as a weapon. Would this make her move?

@JPax

Sera

Sera saw the ground beneath her feet shift. A stalagmite slightly pierced the bottom of her foot, but more than that she was propelled into the air. She was clearly very light on her feet.

Sera twisted in the air rather acrobatically to gain momentum, right before thrusting herself towards Toby on the ground. She wasn't going for psychic attacks. Sera extended her foot and attempted to kick Toby in the side of the head with enough force to knock a human out.

@Cipah

Toby was lucky to react to the kick quickly. He shielded his head but the blow was still tough. He was sent sprawling onto the ground, light exploding into his vision. He felt nauseous from the blow. He got to his hands and knees, taking a moment to recover. He groaned, struggling to deal with the pain. It hurt so badly. He can't even remember the last time someone had gotten close enough to hit him. He had to be more careful.

Climbing to his feet, he used his telekinesis to cause a blow that shot outwards in all directions from his body. It was an offence and a defence. A shield that was also a sword. There was no doubt she would come back for more, but this would buy him the time he needed to fully recover.

@JPax

Sera

"Ugh!" Sera crossed her arms as she was thrown backwards against the wall. Pain shot up her back as soon as it made contact against the wall, and she collapsed to the ground onto her knees. Sera regained her breath and put her palms against the ground. She felt every vibration that Toby's body made for a few seconds.

Pain. Both of them were in pain. But now wasn't Sera's time to give up. Sera bolted forwards in the air and attempted to straight up punch Toby across the face. This left her wide open for attack, which was normally a bad thing.

@Cipah

This time Toby wasn't so fortunate. He crossed his arms in front of his face instinctually, but focused more on attack than defence. He directed energy to his right knee, which he sent up to her stomach. His crossed arms were hit and he heard them crack sickeningly. Luckily, taking the damage in his arms meant that he could rear his head back far enough to avoid the blow. However, his arms sent waves of pain through him with even the slightest of movements. He had to bank on the energy he put into his kick. He needed space between the two of them badly.

@JPax

Sera

Sera took the knee rather harshly. While her body was naturally designed to withstand punishment, a well placed kick like that would still hurt. She felt herself being thrown back and rolled on the ground a couple times.

Sera let out a groan of pain as she tried to get to her feet. The taste of blood was in her mouth from the strength of the kick, as well as the other force she took. She pulled her arm back and fired another telekinetic blast before slowly getting to her feet. Sera refused to go down as easily as most did when she sloppily charged at Toby, this time attempting to swing her fist straight to his stomach.

@Cipah

Toby stood back, watching her fire another blast. He looked down at his arms, shifting as they moved around limply at his sides. He couldn't move them anymore. The pain was enough to bring tears to his eyes. He turned his attention to the blast heading towards him, focusing his powers enough to dispel it. It was clear that she wasn't as effective from afar. That was where he had to keep her, because her strengths were his weaknesses.

He took a deep breath and blew out, using his abilities to turn it into a telekinetic force shooting towards her. At the same time he shot debris from the drestroyed ground her way, including some psychic-made stalagmites from the earlier destruction.

he sat on one of the couches of his coffee shop he absolutely hated coffee, he actually didn't like tea ether he just liked the feel of a coffee shop a couple people sat near by at their own tables talking or stealing his internet but as long as they bought something he was fine with it. plus mostly even though only a few stayed the majority of his profits came from people rushing in and grabbing something before taking off but now was not the time for such thoughts he was relaxing he didn't even relax this much in his apartment above this place no on these couches with his lets say loyal employees on watch this was where he relaxed. he was him self on these couches kind of grumpy and almost consistently a smart ass instead of in public a total kiss ass who would blow you if it made your day a little bit better, or the overly focused person that the robes make him no this right now was him. he looked down a the reserved sign with the symbol of the strangest on it he hoped the others knew that meant they were welcome here he wouldn't tell them trying to  find all the strangest was like trying to tame a large amount of rabbits on cocaine and he would not spend the time needed to do that. he closes his eyes again and drinks his water as he sits trying to clear his head.

(Ya, Strangest are going to you once @JPax responds to me. Probably going to either try to destroy them/reprogram to help the Strangest)

(Oh, OK) @JPax

(The Strangest are about to go to a bank to either A: Destroy Yappi's robots or B: Reprogram the robots and take the money either way but it depends entirely on Qsa's response. I'd recommend you cause some mayhem or something and meet up with them after the bank robbery. Maybe take a hostage and force a hero out?)

he stands up and walks up to his room ,puts on his robes, and grabs his book as he turns off the lights he disappears with his book in hand he teleports a good distance coming out of an ally way as he looks around he quickly finds a mother and daughter out for a walk he draws the attention of all near by with his long dark robes also a couple of insults but that didn't matter he walks up to the woman whispering into her ear "Leave" that woman might die of brain damage his ability to use his magic to persuade was faulty when he wasn't intending to keep them around at least to the random people one would find on the street o how the weak willed failed to survive at every turn. he leaned down this time focusing more on his ability as to not give the little girl brain damage he whispers "come with me" the little girl holds his hand as he makes his way to the bank. he would kill the little girl in time probably not even 10 but he would not hesitate to kill the little girl or even make the little girl kill her self that was completely be up to him.
