Sydney is a typically quiet and understanding, observant girl who tries to look for the good in people when handling them. However, there is always a flaw with something so good to be true. She gets upset very easily. She thinks that the good in people are only to be found when they are looked at directly, and not when they are acting. When they are acting, the cruelty will always show, labeling that person as cruel. Sydney also enjoys eating food.
Strengths:
-High mental strength, enough to resist mind-control or mental manipulation.
-Peak human agility - For her age, Sydney possesses agility that is on par or beyond athletes, allowing her to climb, jump, and dodge with ease.
Weaknesses:
-Permanent injuries: In her battle with Unknown Numerals, Sydney felt the impact of a powerful blow to the head that also reduced her cognitive abilities to a low degree. She has to use telekinesis to substitute her brain for its shortcomings, meaning she can no longer function if she exhausts her powers.
-Reliance on Powers: Sydney has a large reliance on her powers, meaning she does not know how to supplement her weaknesses with equipment.

Powers: ESP-Psychokinesis -
A form of extrasensory perception known as psychokinesis is Sydney's ability. She is capable of performing a certain degree of telekinetic tasks, as well as projecting her mind into other sources.
*Labeled powers are time-limited due to brain injuries.

  • *Precision Telekinesis - An advanced form of psychic telekinesis that involves doing precision tasks that require better than 0.1mm of work. This cannot handle large tasks, though it is said to be capable of grabbing bullets out of the air at its peak.
  • *Telekinetic Force Manipulation - A powerful form of psychic telekinesis is manipulating telekinetic force and using it to create powerful waves of energy to blast back opponents and matter alike.
  • **Psychic Projection - Sydney was capable of projecting her mind into the physical world, allowing for free travel to explore parts that were too dangerous to see before.
  • *Telekinetic Speed - Sydney is capable of augmenting her speed to up to 85 mph in a sprint by forcing her limbs beyond their natural capabilities.
  • Psionic Shield - Sydney generates a circular field of telekinetic energy to protect her from harm. This shield can be broken through with repeated physical strikes, or a blow of enough force to outmatch her telekinesis.

Also, attempting to push past the 10 minute barrier would result in her completely losing it; she is currently using her telekinesis to substitute for lost cognitive abilities.
Precision - Precision telekinesis can only lift a maximum of 10 pounds.
Telekinetic Force - Has a harder time pushing away things that are aerodynamic, such as bullets.
Telekinetic Speed - Can only last as long as the user can sprint. With injuries, this is time limited.

Backstory {O}: Killian was born into a family (mother and Father) of super villains but never taking after them. he was far to good and innocent so at the age of 5 he was kicked out of his family causing him to live on the streets for a year. when he turned 6 he was rescued by a Superhero going by the name Shadow(oh yea i did it). Shadow raised Killian as a normal kid until his powers started to emerge. After this Shadow decided to train Killian in fighting and help him control and harness his powers. Killian still went to school like a normal kid and did all normal kid things. when he turned 18 and graduated high school he went off to college but he felt like he had these powers for a reason and he remembered Shadow telling him about Heroes of today so he figured while he went to college, he could be a superhero

Kind hearted- he is an extremely kind person, always making friends where every he goes.
Determination- Killian never gives up. even in fights he tries to find a way to win even if he is horribly outmatched(which is almost all the time)

Personality: Killian is a normal guy, liking to listen to music, read and run around for fun. He always tries to keep a positive outlook on life even if things seem like they will only get worst. Killian usually keeps to himself unless he is with friends or people he trusts.

Killian was born a normal kid in to a family of archeologists. because both of his parents where archeologists he was always traveling around to different countries. on one trip Killian snuck off into the dig sight where he ventured too far in. he was trapped in the cave for what felt like days but was actually only hours, wandering around in the dark till he felt a cold breeze blow on him. he began to follow the breeze to a part of the cave that was completely covered in ice. on the far wall there was a podium with strange writing on it that beckoned him to it, he walked over placing his hand on the podium and blacked out. he woke up in his bed with an ice cold snowflake pendant necklace around his neck. days later he found out that this pendent actually gave him strange powers, the power to command ice and snow along with the pendant it's self turning into a black steel sword with a snowflake pommel. after doing years worth of research he found out that the pendants name was Frost's bane, which in turn he took to be his name.

I'll approve this.

In theory, darkness is actually very much underpowered, it's just that most users of shadow manipulation don't accept their realistic limits for a fantasy power. Now, solid darkness manipulation is different. So, as long as it's ice manipulation and not cold manipulation, then we haven't crossed that line. Then again, the Heroes of [x] series is known for its ridiculous powers, so I'd accept cold manipulation as long as limits are provided.

He no longer does anything superhero-related due to the guilt of a past incident explained in his backstory. He outwardly expresses support for his son being an independant hero for now, but secretly wishes he'd just quit before getting seriously hurt.

Backstory {O}:
Previously an independant superhero that wasn't affiliated with Heroes of Tomorrow as he felt that they would inhibit his ability to do the necessary things quicker. During one incident, while his son was around 6 years old, a villain found out his identity and twisted his wife's mind into that of a much more dangerous villain, especially with the powers she already had. He was forced to kill her and the other villain, and explained to his son that she had merely abandoned them instead of the much darker truth. He quit superhero work after this, unable to properly cope with what had happened.

Backstory {O}: The Thorn family moved around fairly often when Galen was young. His mother had a drug addiction which her powers only helped. She could manipulate people through touch, but the affects were easily remembered by the victims. One of the drug dealers she stole from found and killed her when Galen was 11. His father decided they needed to move once more but stay until the young man was out of high school after that.

Strengths: Brave, Loyal, Strategist
Weaknesses: Easily swayed, Not easily trusting, Horrid multitasker

1. Siphon: Health(green) although he can pull this force from his victims the actions leave him in a temporary weak, and vulnerable state. Although in this weak state he can still move with a great effort, but his effort causes the weakening affects of siphoning to last longer.

2. Reanimate Corpse: The ability to raise the corpses of the fallen lesser corpses and "control" them. He can send a telepathic suggestion to the corpses. The weaker the mind of the beast prior to its death the more likely Reaver's suggestions are to be followed. A translucent red aura swirls around Reaver's unfallen allies. The largest creature he has ever reanimated was a wolf at a state park he came across. He is unsure of the limits of this ability.


3. Power of Blood: His blood has "natural" healing powers, but only when in contact with someone else. He cannot use the blood to heal himself. This affect only lasts up to 5 minutes from leaving Galen's body, after which the blood will lose its healing power and return to normal human blood.

Catalysts {O}: A high sugar content slightly increases the time Galen's blood has healing powers from 5 minutes to 7 minutes.

Blockages/Inhibitors {O}: Alcohol in his blood stream counteracts the healing powers in his blood.

Backstory {O}: There hasn't been known much about Ezra, just the most coming things. He was born as the youngest child to the Dempseg Family. To him they weren't really family, just overbearing parents who never let do anything fun. It wasn't until he was 15 that be run away from them, ever since then, he has been by himself, becoming a bodyguard.

Personality: Paul is normal. He doesn't seek out a life of adventure or excitement, he's perfectly content with his boring life as is. He spends 8 hours a day working in a cubicle at Running Rodent Shipping, staring at a computer screen the size of a laundry machine making sure that packages go where they're supposed to and taking 5 minute breaks at a water cooler to chat with colleagues. But as a grown adult Paul is a man of responsibility, he feels like if he can he has to do something. And as someone who just happens to be able to set himself (and others) on fire, if Paul sees a crime being committed, there's a fair bit of 'something' he can do.

Backstory:

Paul lived a fairly normal life for a long time. Went to highschool, got a job, worked at the job, kept working at the job, he's still working at the job. The only real thing that set him apart was a little parlor trick he could do, he could set his index finger on fire. Made him one of those "humans with extraordinary abilities". It was a nice trick at parties, he could light people's cigarettes. Well until he got his world a little rocked. Paul was walking home after work, very relaxed and leisurely, and he passed by a store, and in the store was another "human with extraordinary abilities", some guy with muscles the size of Paul's head holding the joint up.

If asked why he jumped into a dangerous robbery, Paul's first reaction would be to tell you that he had no idea what you were talking about and fiercely deny any involvement. If he hypothetically trusted you enough to tell you his sidejob as a vigilante, he would tell you something rather different.


"My body moved on its own before I could think."

Before he had completely registered the situation, Paul was already running to desperately do something to help. Of course when he tried to stop this criminal super, he got casually smacked down. Because you see, Paul was still just a salary man then. The thug took the chance to taunt and gloat over Paul, and Paul was filled with the burning need to do something. And Pauls little parlor lick lighted up, and as fires are wont to do it spread, spread up his arms and over his chest and up his head. Before the thug completely registered what had happened to Paul he was smothered in fire.

Paul kept at his normal life after that day, still working at his job. But if he sees something happening, he would quickly take off his shirt and any other upper body clothing, after all clothes are expensive, and before he can think, his body is moving.
Strengths:

  • Fairly large lung capacity, can hold his breath for 5 minutes.
  • Slightly more athletic then average. He jogs on the weekend and goes to the gym. He's up to 200 lbs on the bench press!
  • Surprsingly creative! Paul is able to think a bit outside of the box with his flame powers.
  • Anyone who gets too close to Paul when he is flamed on will suffer from shortness of breath, due to his flames voraciously devouring surrounding oxygen.
Weaknesses:
  • The fierce flames that envelop him completely devour any and all oxygen around him. This means that the time he can spend 'flamed on' is regulated by how long he can hold his breath, which is roughly 5 minutes. Pushing past this risks him passing out and even brain damage from lack of oxygen.
  • If he turns his flames too hot they overtake what his body seems to be able to absorb and begin to burn himself. Any flames hotter then 200 degrees Fahrenheit (94 degrees Celsius)inflict serious damage.
  • Without his flames he's kind of just a normal guy, can't put up much of a fight.

Paul can produce flame from his body. This manifests in his upper torso being completely engulfed in flame. From theoretically any point in his upper torso, but practically just his hands, Paul can produce flame. This can be used for offensive blasts of course, creating crude 'structures' of flame, and focus the flame to melt something. Though Paul can't fly, he can use fire blasts to propel himself and 'jump'.

Blockages/Inhibitors:



    • Can't produce flames if there's no oxygen.
    • Being smothered by something can put his flames out pretty easily.
    • Places with low oxygen like high altitudes seriously limit the time he can flame on.
    • Water, obviously. A little bit of water just turns into steam, by serious amounts of water can put him out.
Limits: [Hard limits of the power, e.g. can only fire continuously for 5 minutes]



    • Can only flame on for five minutes. Time spent past that risks passing out and even brain damage from lack of oxygen.
    • Any flames hotter then 200 degrees will seriously burn him as well.

On the mechanics of his flame limitation, I figured I would only allow 5 posts in flame mode without consequences, one for every minute. If that seems unreasonable, I can modify it. If he remains in flame mode past that, I'd have to roll a dice for him to remain conscious, first roll a 3+, then every subsequent post adds one to the required dice roll for it to be successful. For example, if he stays in flame mode two turns more after the initial dice roll, I would have to roll a 5 for him to stay conscious.

I think this is a way to keep the limitations pretty fair, thoughts would be appreciated.

Since this RP is fairly casual, I don't think you need a dice roll to keep track of time limits; just use logic. But in the end, it's your choice. I think it's fair. Approved.
 
Well I'd like to use the dice because, y'see I feel it would keep me pretty 'honest' in regards to the limitation. I think if I didn't have that and was rping a fight I would feel tempted to bullshit Paul going past the limits of him holding his breath. This keeps me within the limits I've set.
