Matty Healy!

Notables
Description: Matty stands at a tall and suave 6'2. His limbs are almost awkwardly long and lanky, but he still manages to skateboard up the boardwalk without tripping over himself. He has a mop of crazy curly hair, often wrangled back into a bun. He has large, brown eyes, permanently tired-looking with designer eye bags. His wide mouth is often curled into a sleepy, almost snarky-looking smile.
Personality:
Matty is an adventurer. Ever since he was little, he's had the heart of an explorer, constantly craving to find more and seek a great perhaps. He's a philosopher, drinking in knowledge and experience like a manic drunk. He unashamedly considers himself selfish, but truly, he cares deeply about his friends and family. He's always there to lend a helping hand, a few bucks, or study notes. When his friends are happy, he's happy. Matty is known for having his head up in the clouds,
Basics
Nickname: King
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Orientations: Bisexual, Heteromantic
Occupation: He's managed to get a buck or two working at the seaside surf shack.
Biography
Likes/Dislikes:
Singing songs at the tops of his lungs, driving along the coast, good coffee, family cooking, campfires of the beach.
Seagulls, fighting and yelling, death, shitty fast food, bugs.

High School Experience:
Matty believes you don't need school to learn life skills. When he was a kid, he felt trapped in the classroom, constantly staring out the window and wondering when he would be able to go outside again and play. High school was fine - he was an average kid, with average grades - but what he appreciated most was the togetherness of school. Passing notes to friends, sharing notes, group projects, even pranks were all on his agenda. Graduation was a banger.

Name; Eden Alexandria

Nicknames; N/A

Age; 19

Gender; Female

Orientations; Polysexual

Occupation; Pro Surfer, Part Time Worker at the Sea Side Surf Shack

Description; 5'6 and around 150 pounds,, mainly abdominal muscle

Personality; a rebellious soul with a mouth full of Oahu Island sand, when you have wet feet. ((In more common words she's slightly annoying.)) Eden is very much a take action, think later type of person. Fight before flight. She's very impulsive. Though being impulsive doesn't mean she isn't intelligent, though she comes across as a hot headed, sex obsessed hippie; she's very intellectual.

High School Experience; Eden had a very memorable high school experience. She was third in the school for highest average (90) and the only class that brought her down was math. She never really seemed to get it, if it wasn't for Matty she likely wouldn't have even gotten an 84. During the summer in between her grade 11 year and her grade 12 she was offered an opportunity to go to a university on the mainland and start working on a Masters Degree in Marine Biology. She accepted and moved away for the summer and came back for her full grade 12 year. It was near the middle of that year, that the bill for her schooling in the summer was given to her. Though she did get a hefty discount because of her home situation, she could never drea of paying that off. Drug Trafficking.
During her grade 12, she wasn't only working on her classes but also finishing up her Masters Degree, as well as the moving and distribution of many many drugs.

minor details Name: Moriah Noelani Parry || Nickname(s): YaYa, Princess || Age: 18 || Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual || Occupation: Photography Intern for Impostcards
The Looking Glass

Height:
5'6

Weight:
120 lbs

Build:
Slender, subtly curving into a pear-shape

Eye Color:
Brown

Skin Tone:
A deep olive || Light brown

Hair Color:
Naturally dark brown and gradually lightens as you get to the ends, though she's recently darkened the tips to a natural brown because they used to be near golden

Hair (Length || Type || Style(s))
Long, bordering on waist-length || Naturally curly and thick, somewhat looser days after a wash or exposure to water || Typically worn loose and flowing with an occasional braid or two if she needs it out of her face, occasionally straightened but thrown into an updo if swimming or too lazy to care for it

Style of Dress:
Notably feminine, typically wears dresses but has no problems with jeans/shorts paired with a delicate top and minimal jewelry.

Mannerisms:
~ Very emotive. Can't hide her facial expressions for nothing.
~ Cannot just sit however, like most people. Moriah always has to cross her legs, whether in a chair or even on the sand. The only time she doesn't cross her legs when seated is when she's on a surfboard.
~ Always carries her water-proof digital camera and is always taking a picture of someone or something.
~ Surprisingly enough, she's actually a klutz.
~ Tenses when she's shown physical affection out of nowhere, but can freely give that same affection to others.

What Lies Beneath

Personality:

What people fail to realize when it comes to Moriah is that though she seems open, it doesn't mean that she is. Not really, anyway. It's a sort of deception, if you really think about it. She's the fun one. The party girl. The adventurer. Her smile is too bright, too leery and flirtatious at times. She doesn't present a front that bespeaks her true wariness of others and their intentions with her, her pessimism that they don't really give a damn about her but what she can give to them. The casual tosses of a few dollar bills for the diner tab because they "just so happened" to forget their wallet at home, but it's alright because it won't put a dent in Moriah's allowance, right? The "never a dull moment" because whether it's in her super nice home or some random stretch of a beach where there's always going to be hot guys and alcohol for their illegal hands - or even a darkly lit corner with grabby hands and tequila-tinged lips - Moriah Parry is bound to show you a good time. She has a way - a charm - of making you feel as if you're closer than you actually are, and she does it with everyone. Looping arms like everyone's her very best friend, heads tilted low enough to almost clock together as she whisper conspiratorially about your plans for the day.

She flirts just as easily as she breathes and can flit from one conversation to the other, this unfathomable supply of energy radiating from her core all the way to her fingertips to the point that she's practically vibrating with it. Moriah tends to tackle the world with a never-ending love of adventure, always seeking something more and wanting to see everything, and this tenacious, vibrant existence is always dragging someone with her for the moment so they too can feel it - whatever the it she's chasing is. She's fearless in that regard, unafraid of no new experience nor wary about the consequences because they're alive and she needs a splash of danger to really feel like she is. But just because she does all of that - just because she laughs and sashays without a care in the world and like she doesn't know what that kind of movement does to those around her, just because she was always seen with a new friend or rumored to have another someone in the privacy of her bedroom, just because she wants you to see what she wants you to see - doesn't mean that she's as open a book as she seems. It doesn't mean you know her. She's a pageant girl, after all. And they've all had to fake a smile or two once or twice before. Moriah's just been faking it for a lot longer.

Because for all of her seeming lasciviousness and loud bravado, Moriah's far more insecure and (now) hurt than she lets on. She doesn't actually know when someone wants her for her and not for what she can provide them, doesn't know how to trust that she can love another human being - other than the best friends who haven't gone anywhere all this time, surprisingly enough - and have them actually love her back because she's enough. The girl who's used to being considered the one who lets anyone into her bed doesn't exactly let too many into heart, oftentimes putting up the illusion that she's befriended everyone when in reality, she only has a select few who truly know her. The ones who have sat with her when the tide rushes in, who know for a fact that they heard her mutter something surprisingly wise about existentialism while her gaze remains steadfast on the crashing waves and the colorful sunset just above the horizon before she divulges into a coquettish squeal and a demand for chocolate. The ones who know about her innate curiosity and love for learning, even when she's acted disinterested in class, and how much she loves to capture a beautiful moment. The ones who know how much she cares and how easily she dishes out affection, even if now - for reasons she has yet to admit to - she gets skittish when the affection is initiated on their end first.

The ones who know that, despite how much she's willing to be the one to throw all cares to the wind and just be, Moriah will tone it down just for them and listen to whatever their problems are, and have their backs with all the ferocity of an untamed, but oddly territorial kitten. But never allowing them to know what made her flinch just a second ago, or hear all that truly troubles her in the darker recesses of her mind. Moriah is emotive and explosive, oftentimes not truly being able to hide whatever it is she is feeling for the moment but willing to fake it and push people as far away from herself and from her truths as she possibly can because she's so used to being put on the back-burner - at being a property, but not a priority - that it's easier to think that she doesn't deserve what she dishes out to others. That though she'll approach a threat to her friends with take-no-nonsense flames in her eyes and vitriol on her tongue, she'll be surprised when they actually do the same for her. Moriah is a girl still very much unaware of her worth, even as she puffs her chest out and pushes forward because people don't know her. Not like they think they do.

Likes: jellyfish, bonfires, s'mores, Netflix films, swimming, surfing, photography, lightning streaks that are too pretty to not capture on camera, macarons, fireworks, the idea of love and romance, the wind in her hair while she's driving or riding in someone's car, kona coffee, riding her bicycle

Dislikes: when the volcanoes acted up, vodka, violence, when people raise their voice at her, the idea of having an office job, her mother, people sneaking up on her, constant rain, her ex, being vulnerable in front of people including her best friends, seagulls, skateboards (since she sucks at balance)

High School Experience:
On the outside, Moriah had a rather typical, if not, fortunate high school career. Because she competed annually at beauty pageants, and dated one of the richest students, it was easy for her to fall in line with some of the more popular kids at school. It never meant that she participated in bullying classmates or tearing people down just for the hell of it, but it was easy for her to be associated with that crowd. In truth, however, Moriah was just as excited as the least popular kid in her class for that part of her life to be over. It wasn't perfect and she was never truly happy unless she was amongst her childhood friends, regardless of what anyone else might have to say.

Future Plans:
While her mother wanted her to go into something like business and follow into her footsteps, Moriah is a lot more interested in marine biology and underwater photography. So much of her life has been spent wither in the water or on land with a camera, and she figures she might as well pursue a career with both. Of course, she'd like to actually be in a relationship that she wanted to be in and was happy in, a lasting one at that, but she doesn't like talking about that. It makes her feel too optimistic, too pathetic.

Secret(s):
~ She was in a physically abusive relationship for the entirety of her junior year.
~ Has pretended to be dumb; actually smart.

What Is Left Behind

History:

To some extent, it is safe to say that Moriah has had it pretty swell, especially as a child. While she would never go so far as to say that her life was absolutely lavish, with the wealth her mother accumulated and what her father does in the tech industry, it wouldn't be a lie to say that she has lived rather comfortably. In fact, considering they had enough money to live comfortably and put Moriah through beauty pageants since she was six, the outside world would definitely find it easy to believe that everything was rather golden in Moriah's world. Except, it wasn't, not always anyway.

When she was young, she sought her mother's approval more than her father, oftentimes going to him for the affection and attention her mother failed to provide, but looking up to the woman who birthed her as if she were a goddess among mortals. However, it was easy for Moriah to be the pretty little thing her mother liked showing off, the face to the many trophies her mom liked flaunting to her wealthy counterparts and peers, but never the tiny body she curled up with on a couch to watch Moriah's favorite Disney movies or eat cereal late at night with. In fact, both of those things were not at all as refined as Moriah's mother was, and Moriah wound up - a lot of the time - disappointed, and has spent the majority of her life feeling not good enough.

Especially when, during her parents' divorce, her mother moved all the way to Australia.

Moriah hadn't even been an option and it hurt.

Despite this feeling of abandonment where one parent moved continents away and the other buried himself in work, only able to devote a fraction of his time to his only, needy child, Moriah buried herself in her social life and water. Always water; always a secret mermaid at heart with flippers in her polished-pink feet and the ocean pounding its secrets into her skin as she dived into its depths to drown out the world above the surface. With her family's financial background and the fact that a number of the same popular girls had been in the same pageant world that she slowly but surely lost interest in (it took a minute since her mother, too, had once loved it), it hadn't been hard for Moriah to blend in, but never truly belong. She has always been at war with herself; a side of her constantly craving the attention and affection that came with being one of the most talked about girls in school, and the side that wanted it all to mean something more, for it to not be as superficial as who wore it best today or who was dating whom.

Which is probably why or how she had gotten into her most serious, but worst high school relationship. It had been easier before, being able to be the girl everyone knew could have a good time and made out with (and possibly had sex with, though she's had far less sexual partners than people have surmised) just about anyone with the right amount of alcohol in her system. because they wanted her and Moriah liked being wanted. She loved being loved, and that's what she thought she had with her ex. Genuine love and acceptance, despite her flaws, and someone who saw past the walls not many know are up in the first place. Sadly, however, Moriah was prepped for disappointment since she was four. She just didn't think an occasionally bruised wrist and possessive insults would lead to eventual slaps across the face and bruises she could never truly explain.

It took the entirety of her junior year to be over for Moriah to get out of the relationship and she didn't really get out of it to the extent that she had been the one to walk away. When her boyfriend hadn't gotten ridiculously jealous that the pretty little rich thing he liked showing off was affectionate with her male friends, and grabbing her up too roughly behind closed doors, he was disinterested - only showing she was his when it seemed another interested party was nearby. Moriah had grown numb enough in the relationship to not even care; she preferred his disinterest. Apparently, wanting that kind of love wasn't good for her. Eventually, though, she and a few friends walked in on him hooking up with a cheerleader he'd been messing around with behind her back, and it was kind of the end.

Moriah probably should have found something to celebrate in that deterioration. That for a few weeks, not many liked him because the girl everyone else once wanted, but never really would have cherished had they had her, had been betrayed. But it didn't last and Moriah didn't celebrate, not when while he never really ever bruised her face, her body had been bruised up just fine in places no one else could see to question. She still partied with the best of them, bitched when necessary and sometimes, when someone struck a too deep chord, when it wasn't, got drunk enough to rid the memories of her mind for a few short hours, and had her own hook-ups to rid her skin of the ghosts of his touch. But celebrating...true celebrating wasn't until recently, when she was able to say that graduating from school felt like graduating from everything. And maybe the celebrating can last longer with her friends, her true ones.

Theme Song

Hard as I try
It seems I can't break away
I thought that you would be the hero
Come and save the day
But you're a villain
Your sins unforgiven

I'm going down, and you have watched me drown
In a river of tears, lost beneath the stream
Under the waves, I've found the strength to say
The river of tears has washed me clean
Go 'head and wish me well
I'll cry a wishing well
I'll fly before I fail
I'll set sail and drift away
So I won't need you here
Love sinks and hope floats
In a river of tears
In a river of tears

]✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧

Why did you leave me here to burn?
I'm way too young to be this hurt
I feel doomed in hotel rooms
Staring straight up at the wall
Counting wounds and I am tryin' to numb them all

Do you care, do you care?
Why don't you care?
I gave you all of me
My blood, my sweat, my heart, and my tears
Why don't you care, why don't you care?
I was there, I was there, when no one was
Now you're gone and I'm here

I have questions for you

Lea Kalani
eOZ0SpR.jpg

Name: Lea Kalani
Nicknames: n/a
Age: eighteen
Gender: female
Orientations: Pansexual
Occupation: Marine biology internship
Description: Lea is quite a tall girl standing at five feet and ten inches and even taller in her favorite pair of heels though that doesn't stop her from wearing him. Her body is well shaped and is evidence of how much work she puts into keeping herself fit. She has a mesomorph body type which is the product of lots of hard work and grueling training. She could also be described as having a more subtle hourglass figure though it isn't always apparent due to how often she is in a lab coat. Overall her body is quite well toned and evidence of all the hard work she puts into it.

Lea also has long rich auburn hair that cascades down her back in loose waves. She has soft olive skin with neutral undertones that give a sort of natural glow to her complexion. Her eyes are a dark brown that look like pools of melted chocolate and are quite easy to get lost in. Though brown hair and eyes are usually seen as dull or boring, it does not apply to her. The combination of rich auburn hair and dark chocolate eyes on her works amazingly in her favour. Her face is heart-shaped, and her jawline is so sharp that it could cut someone. Her nose is small but refined almost looking like it was sculpted by the gods themselves. She has full lips that are tinted light dusty pink and white teeth that closely resemble shining pearls. When she was younger, her mother would tell her that the reason she lost her baby teeth was that Kanaloa didn't think they shined bright enough. So one by one he found the most perfect pearls in the sea and shaped them to fit into the gaps. That was the reason her teeth sparkled the way the did when she smiled.

Personality:
Lea prides herself on her inventiveness and creativity as well as her unique perspective and vigorous intellect. She loves patterns and spotting discrepancies between statements could be described as one of her hobbies which makes it a bad idea to lie to her. This also makes it kind of ironic as her words should always be taken with a grain of salt. It's not that she is lying, only that she has a habit of sharing thoughts not fully developed.

She is unafraid to stand up and speak her mind whenever she feels like something needs to be said. She finds communicating with others easy as it comes naturally to her, especially in person. Her intuition makes it easier for her to reach out to every any kind of person, be it from using facts and logic or raw emotions. She can easily figure out people's motivations and connect them to other events. She is able to bring ideas together and communicate them as a common goal with a determination that is nothing short of mesmerizing.
She is also often guided by her principles rather than by logic, excitement, or practicality. When deciding how to move forward, she will look to honour, beauty, morality, and virtue. She is led by the purity of her intent, not by rewards or punishments.

Likes:
The way flames dance when set alight
The bitter taste of coffee on her tongue complimented with crisp morning air burning her cheeks
The sound a pencil makes when moved along parchment
The soundlessness of being underwater
Browsing through thrift stores searching for curious things
Reading books for hours on end
Figuring out what makes people tick
Curling up in front of the fire and feeling the warmth on her skin

Dislikes:
The burning sensation when you breathe in cold air through your nose
The uneasy feeling in her stomach when she looks down from a great height
Reading an entire page only to find her mind had wandered and she wasn't actually paying attention
Suffocating long white corridors that seem to go on forever with each door opening to another long white corridor
Colourless rooms that drain you of all hope and happiness
long needles with mysterious liquids pricking at her skin

High School Experience:
Lea’s high school experience was a bit cliché as she was an ugly duckling. In her first two years of high school, she was picked on due to her unfortunate appearance. Her teeth were all over the place causing her to have to wear Orthodontic headgear. She had a range of other problems that contributed to her unpleasant appearance. But she had an amazing transformation before the third year causing her to come back looking almost unrecognisable. This caused her popularity to skyrocket and she quickly became one of the most popular girls in school. She would make the occasional sarcastic comment but nothing that would be seen as bullying.
