There is a Company that announced the possibility of actual virtual reality becoming well...Reality! Some of the most brilliant minds and skillful technicians, and programmers on the planet had a hand in making this tech. They uses the most advanced technology known to man to make this system exist, and are sending invitations out to few to Beta test this new system. These lucky few will be thrown into a virtual fantasy game to help with the flaws in this new system, and they won't be just helping with the development of the game side of the system. No they will help with other possibilities the Company has for the system, that we hope can come to fruition. And all these Beta testers have to do is play through the game!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Greetings, ____________,

You have been selected to test out our brand new and world's first Virtual Reality System! You have been selected by The Company's 'Natural Selection Program'. You have the characteristic to help us turn this system into perfection, and hope that you accept our offer of a life time. Of course we won't be having you do this for free!. Once the testing is done, and we have perfected this great new technology, Each Tester will be given a copy of the game and Virtual Reality System of their very own and will each be a 1% cut at the time the Product is up on sale!

Now here's how the system works: It sinks into the conscientiousness of the player through the head gear, and pulls the person to an unconscious state where the Motor skills are deactivated. There it connected the senses of the player to the the game that he/she is going to play, making the most realistic sensation a game can ever bring. If you touch something in a game, with this system we made, you'll feel like you actually touched something. It's so precisest that you could feel the textures as well. But all things in testing have a few kinks to work out, but on't worry though, as testing commences the staff of The Company will be working constantly on maintenance to fix any problem to keep the players safe.

The Game that the selected players are going to be playing is a Fantasy Game. This game does seem like your typical Role Playing game, but the experience will be like nothing like any other RPG out there! You'll fight monsters with the best AI any game could ever give you. And the possibilities are endless. You can become a hero, a villain, king, or a legend among legends.

Now The choice is yours! Will you take part into the invention that could change the world as we know it and become some thing great within the virtual world? Or miss out on this once in a life time opportunity!?

It was a hot summer day in the middle of August, a perfect day to stay in and play video games. In the
Company’s main building waits all the invited gamers to test run the new game system. They waited in a luxurious looking lounge room, complete with a pool table and a small drink bar, with non alcoholic drinks,; it was in a workplace after all. The bar had a cappuccino maker, a soda fountain, and a smoothie dispenser. The invited 'gamers' were all gathered in the room for a past few hours waiting for them to be taken to the test room.

Austin was sitting in alone seat as one his legs bounced agitated as he waited. He was getting aggravated from waiting so long. Austin was an average 6 feet tall, with a lean body type. He had short red hair and a scowling face. If he was still in school, he be thought of as a bully or a thug with his looks alone. As Austin sat in the chair, he leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees as he looked around the room at all the other 'gamers' that were invited to test the new system. They just seem like noobs in his eyes.

Austin grumbled to himself as time just seemed to pass. When a person with glasses and a clipboard in hand walked in, Austin suddenly yelled. “
Augh! When are we going to start the god damn testing!?” He asked out of the blue. Those were his first words he had said since he entered the lounge. The guy looked at him surprised as he jumped a bit. “Uh...Sorry about that.” He said then corrected himself. “I’m here to tell you all that it will be another hour before you are allowed to test out the system. We came to a problem while setting up the systems for you all. So till it’s fixed, please indulge yourselves in the beverages and any snacks in the fridge as our apologies for having you wait so long.” The man said as he looked at all the other guest in the lounge. He looked at Austin and gave him a nod and left the lounge. Austin grumbled at the man's words. "I came here to actually see if you all have finished filling out the medical forums, and signed the contracts..." The now slightly nervous employee said. He seemed to be nothing more than a intern.

TSUBAKI

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_08/1644325.jpg.5d78f735f0349516015342739ceb7751.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="69079" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_08/1644325.jpg.5d78f735f0349516015342739ceb7751.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

Tsubaki sat in the luxurious lounge with one leg placed on top of the other nexted to a lamp accompanied by a glass of iced water with water dripping off the side of the glass and onto the table. He was reading a magazine about the very little detail about the game he was here for and it is somewhat complicated...for a noob that is. His attention was quickly given to this impatient red haired boy yelling at a employee that looked rather shooked and awkward and came out to tell the rest of the players in the lounge that it will take longer for the gameplay to be ready than anticipated. This was a disappointment to Tsubaki because at times he can get impatient and loose his cool like the red haired boy sitting not too far away from Tsubaki.

Judging by the magazine in his hand he looks like a player who would pick the "Warrior Class"a typical loud mouth, hot headed solider that doesn't have the walk to back up the talk and this judgment quickly decided Tsubaki's choice of Class without second though.

He chuckled in sight of the rest of players in the lounge as he predicted their future Class.

"Heh......Warrior...Warrior... Archer...so far I'm the only Rogue. Haha this will be fun."

Jeanne never would have figured she would be one of the very first people to test out a virtual reality RPG but here she was, waiting alongside what she assumed to be other hardcore gamers because it most certainly didn't seem like they were chosen at random. Perhaps these people found a way to check how much time they spend playing games. She chuckled mentally at the thought of some unlucky employee having to look at her gaming hours. She was pulled out of her thoughts by some loud mouth red headed guy.

She wasn't exactly pleased about that but she wasn't about to express her opinion about it, for the time being she would remain shut. If there was a chance in the game that she could kindly repay him, she would gladly take it without hesitation. She adjust her glasses slightly and began to think of class she should pick if there is a class selection option. She often went for mages and such as she loved nothing more than to sit back and watch her enemies burn to cinders but for some reason, a warrior class was just screaming her name. She nodded and her right first collided with her left palm. She would pick the warrior class for the beta test and then pick a mage for the games full release. She then sank deeper into her mind, thinking heavily about a game she is about be one of the first to play.

Sumiko-

tumblr_n8mglwt2Eu1tcsc6zo3_250.gif

Sumiko was currently at a pool table, enjoying the game by herself as she expertly shot ball after ball into each hole. Twirling some chalk in her hand, she eyed the remaining eight ball. She didn't really want to show off, but she did need to do this trick at her father's next Gala if they wanted to secure and impress a business partner, so... She glanced around her, making sure no one was watching, before spinning the chalk across the cue tip for a second, turning around, and aiming a shot behind her. A small, pleased grin grew on her face when she heard two small clinks, signifying her shot had been true. Quickly turning around so she wouldn't be "caught', she ambled over to the bar and ordered herself a small smoothie. When she got the drink, she smiled kindly at the bartender before tipping considerably, wandering back to her pool table.

She was interrupted in her playing by a man yelling about the time they were spending in the lobbing. The shot she was trying to land going askew as the two ball spiraled away and ruined her perfect formation, she looked over her shoulder with an eyebrow raised. Who could be causing such commotion? It always took a while for beta-testers, especially if they were in the same building. The people had to prep for them, get the systems ready, all of that fun stuff. Perhaps this man hadn't beta-tested before. Gently setting down her pool cue and walking over, she casually eyed the man who had created the disturbance. "I do believe they are still setting up." She said, voice level and calm. "These systems that we're going to test today are rather complex, I believe, so I don't think it will be ready in such a short amount of time. Am I right, sir?" She inquired, gaze turning to the apprehensive employee who nodded rapidly, eager for a get away from the fiery man. "Thank you for your work, sir." She said, passing him a small tip. Usually that meant "go away", in much more polite and much more valuable terms, and he did just that, speeding away as quick as his legs would allow it, back to just hovering around as an intern/caterer. Turning back to Austin, she smiled kindly, holding out a hand. "I'm sorry you have to wait so long; it is exciting, being able to test such a system. Since we're all going to be in the same game as a group of beta-testers, why not start off on introductions? My name is Sumiko; Sumiko Inoue. You are?"

NORA NICHIJUN

A light sigh escaped Nora's throat. Sheesh ... everyone here is so anti-social. She had just arrived and was sitting aside on one of the many couches the lounge had to offer. Taking a look around, her eyes went googly. Egh ... I'm going to struggle keeping my hands to myself. A perverse giggle escaped her, but she quickly shook her head in an attempt to firm up. First impressions are key, right? Standing up, she was about to walk over to the woman playing pool, but just before she could give a shout out, the red-hair skewed her shot and gave red head nr. 2 an off look. Nora's eyes followed hers, and she noticed the hot-headed attitude with the employee. Woah ... short-fuse. Shortly after, the red-head started up a conversation. Nora would, somewhat off-cue, step over and voice her own concern: "She's right, y'know? It is complicated equipment. Don't want it going awry and frying your brain or something." A wide grin spread across her face. "If we're doing introductions, don't mind if I do: Nora Nichijun. Pleasure to meet you both - or, well, all." Her gaze went over the other people in the room, giving them each a polite nod. "And, yeah, as Inoue here pointed out, we will be in each-other's care."

(@Kishune , @Athenian , @anyonethatpicksupthenod)

Introductions huh? Well...they were right. From this moment on, they only have each other. Might as well, as least know their names. Jeanne stood up and bowed to both Inoue and Nora politely and adjusted her glasses when she stood upright. She cleared her throat. "Jeanne Artoria St.Claire, pleasure to meet you all my fellow beta testers." She sat back down shortly afterwards and took a deep breath. That was smoother than she thought. She was never good with people so that fact that she got anything else other than her name out of her mouth impressed even her. She mentally high fived herself then began to mentally weep at such a sad fact. She folded her right leg over her left and then reached over for one of the nearby magazine they had about the game they were going to play alongside the information about this virtual reality system. It was so amazing how far gaming has come, she could hardly wait to finally be apart of them game.

Austin

Austin watched the intern with a scowl as he collected the papers. Austin had his reasons to be pissed. With all the time he spent here, he could have put it into practicing his Smash Bros skills for the upcoming tournament. But no he just had to forget he 3DS at home for the first time in a long time. That was part of his frustration, but it mainly had to do with the wait still. ‘
Someone had to not be doing their job right…’ He thought as he crossed his arms.

Austin turned his attention to a woman at the pool table as she spoke up saying they were still setting up. She seemed to speak calmly on the matter that they been waiting for hours here. He watched and listened to her as she went on to say that they were going to test a complex system, and that it would take time to get set up, confirming if her words were true the intern nodded in response. Austin tch at this as he looked away a bit as she went to stuff money in his shirt pocket to have him leave. He looked back at her as he thought to himself. She seemed to be more sophisticated than anyone else in this place…if anything she looked like the manager or something here. But she should know that this would be unacceptable in a workplace; especially for such a big event.

Austin was brought out of his thoughts as the woman offered her hand out to him. When she apologized for having him wait this long, Austin raised an eyebrow at her. He couldn’t if she was mocking him or not. But when she said she was a tester too, it was somewhat a surprise. The way how she acted made it seem like she worked her. He figured she was just on a long break or something.

When she told him her name it seemed familiar. ‘
Inoue…?’ He thought as he reached out for her hand to shake it. “My name’s Au-“ He was cut off by short girl with blonde hair telling she was right and something about frying brains, which oddly enough she had a grin when saying that. She then went on to introduce herself to everyone. Austin was about to introduce himself again letting his hand fall back into place, till a girl going by Jeanne made her introduction. He sighed aggravatedly that he was getting interrupted constantly. “The name’s Austin…I'm also known as Berserker in some games…” He said as he looked away noticing the guy with the magazine by the lamp.

Sumiko-

Sumiko drummed her fingers across her thigh, taking stock of everyone. She had a nasty -okay, not 'nasty' per se, but definitely strange- habit of scrutinizing everyone and labeling them, in a sense. She would often take people and put them into categories, and give them main personality traits. This was most useful when you were trying to convince them of something or trying to get on someone's good side; she had used it so much that now, it sort of just became a reflex. Smiling at everyone when they introduced themselves, she slid into the seat next to Austin, crossing her legs and leaning back.

"It's nice to meet you, Austin. Or Berserker. I often go by Apollo in my games. That, or other sun deities. I'm quite a mythology nerd." She said, chuckling slightly. "It's also very nice to meet you, Nora, Jeanne." She dipped her head respectively at each of them. Drumming her fingers on her thigh, she frowned in thought. "If you really are that bored... Might I interest you in a few rounds of an FPS game? It really gets the adrenaline pumping. I can call in for a system right now." Turning around, she looked at everyone. "Would you all be interested in playing? That way I know how many controllers to call for. Although someone is going to have to switch out every round, as we can only connect four controllers and there are five people. How about winner switches out?" She pulled out her phone, ready to call in the request. "If everyone agrees, I can have the system over in about ten minutes."

Sumiko really was itching to play some good first person shooters; she absolutely loved making every shot, knifing and backstabbing those unaware; it was her favourite play style. Despite the short amount of time she spent playing it -only five years, as of now- she discovered a natural affinity, and became quite good. Good enough to make it to the semi-finals under the moniker 'Helios' in a popular FPS, but dropping out because of mysterious reasons. It was actually because she felt sorry for the runner-up, a tiny little waif of a girl who seemed absolutely crushed when she lost in the quarters. As much as she hated to say it, she really wanted to beat some people in a good old shooter, right now. Or have someone beat her, which could happen. She was always up for a challenge.

Skye Doranvol

Skye sat comfortably in the lounge watching the other beta testers quietly. She glanced over at a particular red head who was rather pissed, as his voice rang throughout the lounge. She closed her eyes, with a slight irritated expression on her face. She was not one who liked arrogant behaviour, though she had the idea as to why he had such a temper. Still, everyone waited, though some of the expressions were not up to the most friendliest standards. With a sigh, she placed the palm of her left hand on her cheek as she diverted her gaze from the boy.

Her eyes caught sight of girl who was introducing herself. Skye gave a small nod in return, lapping a leg over the other, trying to adjust her posture. She then placed both her hands on her legs as she observed the others walking to and fro, and another who had somehow thought of an idea to keep a livelier surrounding. Raising an eyebrow, she stared curiously at the girl. This girl seemed to be a heavy gamer; maybe even much worst than herself. Skye listened as she watched the others and the reaction on their faces. She would not have mind playing, but she was much more eager for what the elite of the company had in store for them; she knew she was expecting a fantasy RP game, but to experience the feel of a virtual one was much more interesting. Leaning her head back on the couch, a small smile appeared on her lips, allowing her imaginations to run wild.

Where: Lounge->Lab->Chordata, Chordata

With: All the Beta Tester's and Scientist->No one...

Thoughts: This is rather amazing.

Austin looked at Sumiko as she sat in the seat next to him as she went on to say she took on the name of sun deities; hearing that Austin wondered if she was the type to mold her characters around such myths and legends. “Berserker’s not a tag I chose for myself. It was a name given to by a few among the some gaming community.” He told her. “And I usually make up my characters’ names. I usually take inspiration from the Japanese language.” He as he kept his arms crossed. Hearing this woman go on about bringing in a system for a few rounds of FPS games, Austin raised his eyebrow at this. She seemed confident she could do such a thing so suddenly. If she could actually do such a thing, Austin wouldn’t mind playing a few rounds but was worried that playing FPS games would get him out of his groove of RPG game play. He’s been playing nothing but MMORPGs for the past week to get ready for this new system of virtual reality. “Hmm…Sounds like a good idea to pass the time, but I-” Austin was then interrupted by a few people in lab coats walking into the lounge with them.

A tall, rugged looking man with a cigarette in his mouth walked in the lounge room with his hands in his pockets. He had two others beside him and looked rather younger than him. He looked at the people who gathered in the lounge with a rather dull look. “So this is all who have been selected to test my new revolutionary system, huh…?” He asked then heard about someone bringing in a game system to play as they waited. “Sorry to disappoint but things have been finally set up. So your little plan there won’t be happening…” He said with a rude tone then looked to the female to his left. “Kuchiku, collect their devices from them. Cell phones, handhelds, anything electronic…we don’t seen them effecting the system…or have any leaks before it’s time.” The guy in the middle said and the woman nodded without a word and walked to the testers one by one to collect their electronic devices. The guy then looked back at the group of testers as he took out the cigarette from his mouth and blew some smoke. “I’m Kyugo, The head scientist, and developer here in the Company and creator of the new system you are going to be testing here shortly. And these are my two interns; Kumoi, and Kuchiku.” Kyugo said.

Austin looked at the Kyugo with a raised eyebrow. He wasn’t expecting the developer to look like that…but then again what would he expect him to look like. He then looked at the female as she came to him for his device. He reached into his pocket and handed her a cell phone. He would have more to give her if he didn’t leave his handheld systems behind…though it be a fight for him to even hand it over in the first place. He then realized what her name was. ‘Kuchiku…is that a pet name he has for her or something…?' Austin thought, as she went to the others. “My apology for the delay, but the system is ready for you now.” “Though it was your fault for it…" Kumoi said and Kyugo shop him a glare and the boy just looked away. “I’ll explain it to you along the way. So you won’t have questions when we get to where you’ll be testing….hopefully.” Kyugo said with the last bit under his breath as he and Kumoi turned around and gestured to the testers to follow. Kuchiku wouldn’t let anyone go till they handed over their devices. She had a dark aura to her, like she would kill anyone who try and go on with their device. Once all were collected she followed behind the testers to keep an eye out for anyone who try to trail off from the rest of the group.

As they walked through the hall, Kyugo explained quite a bit about the system he worked on. “This new system I brought to reality is taking a step up from modern game systems that use such things as motion controls and systems such as the Oculus rift, with only gave the illusion that you were playing a game in a virtual world, this new system takes that and throws it away. It’s not an illusion no more, but damn near close to reality itself.” He said with a grin on his face. “This is achieved through the system by connecting to the brain itself, through our specially made gear.” He said then looked over his shoulder at the group to make sure if they were listening.

You don’t need to worry though; we’re not sticking needles in your head or anything like that. It connects to your brainwave your mind emits…like a wireless connection if you will.” Kumoi insured the testers. “But with this, you can experience more sensations other than just sight and sound like you would in those dated systems. Heck, you may experience something you may have never witnessed before…then again you are going into a virtual world that based on fantasy.” He said as he scratched his chin.

Kyugo continued to where he left off. “This is due to the system’s ability to connect to your brainwaves, but is only possible if the person is in a subconscious state…such as being asleep. The gear we developed for the system should help with that.” He didn’t go into how that worked.

And for those sleep walkers among you, you have no need to fret.” Kumoi said “This gear should also halt your motor skills as you’re under…plus you’ll be strapped down for further safety…” He said that last bit under his breath as well as Kyugo smirked to himself. Austin wasn’t so happy to hear that…

There is still a lot about the system capabilities that are unknown to us. Mostly due to lack of knowledge about the brain itself…But that is why you are here. To help us discover this system’s potential as you play along with the game. Because this system’s only limitation is pretty much limited by one’s brain.” Kyugo told them as they came to a huge mechanized door. He then pulled out an ID card from his coat pocket and swiped it on the card reading handle and then entered a code. The doors then started to open to a highly advanced looking computer room filled with desks covered in multiple monitors with other people in lab coats working on them. They didn’t pay the testers any mind and just focused on their work, as if they were just robots. “And people wonder why I don’t want a desk job…” Austin said with an unenthused look on his face.

In the far back of the room were a massive computer and monitor. Kyugo lead them to that computer. As they got closer there was one hospital bed by it with what looked like a helmet of some sort resting on it.

Kyugo stopped in front of the computer and turned to the group. “Ok I need to a volunteer real quick to demonstrate what to expect when you first enter the system to the rest.” He asked and Austin raised his hand up. “I’ll do it…” Austin called out. “Ok uh…” He paused and Kumoi handed Kyugo a clip board. “Oh, the ‘berserker’ huh?” “Just Austin…atleast till I’m in the game.” Austin replied as he looked at Kyugo. Kyugo read over what was handed to him. “…Yes I believe you’ll be a perfect candidate to demonstrate how to set up…with your back ground.” Kyugo said them gestured him to the bed.

Austin walked to the bed got in it and laid down. Kuchiku then walked up from the crown and placed the helmet gear on his head to make sure he didn’t damage the gear. Austin slightly blushed as she did that, unsure why. “As I said before, the Helmet that is being put on him by Kuchiku is what establishes the link between the brain and the system…It’s kinda like that whatever-gear from that one over hyped anime sometime ago.” Kyugo told the group.

As Kyugo went on, it took a few seconds for Austin to fall asleep and enter the system after he got the helm on his head, missing what he was saying as everything seemed to fade to nothingness. He suddenly appeared in a white empty room and looked around a bit.

Kyugo turned on the massive monitor and showed what Austin was going through it in the system with a third person view. “Now here, is where a person starts from scratch.” Kyugo said. “Experience may differ from person to person. Some may appear in a dressing room, or somewhere else the mind goes to when thinking up the character.” Kumoi told the testers. “You start to form your character here, now let’s hope he can figure out how to open the menu.” Kyugo smirked wanting to see how much of a fool the boy would make for himself.

Austin looked around him. The place seemed to go on forever, but as he walked around he just seemed to find a wall that just didn’t seem to be there. ‘Barrier huh…?’ He thought as he placed his hand on the invisible wall and pushed but wouldn’t budge. He tried to think about what he has to do to proceed from this place. As he thought the idea came to him. “It must be like when you create your character…” He said then started to look around for the menu to get started. It took Austin a minute, but he waved his arm as if he was scrolling on a tablet. The menu came up with a simple fill out screen with Username, DoB, and other stuff like that appeared on it.

Kyugo grumbled to himself as it just took him five minute to figure out. “Damn kids these days…” he said to himself thinking it take him alot longer. He was then handed a head set by Kuchiku. “You figured out the motion to summon the menu by yourself huh…” Kyugo stated as he spoke into the set. On the screen Austin looked around for where the voice was coming from. “Don’t worry, it’s just me, Kyugo. I’m talking to you through the Admin system Kumoi developed for the game to keep track of you in-game.” He said and Austin nodded understanding, and went back to filling out his user name...Akumada. Kyugo then looked at the rest the group as he still spoke in the headset. “The way to summon the menu is a simple flick of the wrist downward. To close the menu is to flick your wrist to either side like slapping someone.” He told the group. The menu itself seemed simple enough that Kyugo didn’t need to explain much for the veterans of RPGs. But there are technicalities that he didn’t fully understand that Kumoi would have to.

When Austin got to the character customization was when Kyugo handed the headset to Kumoi to start explaining again. “Austin it’s Kumoi.” He spoke into the headset. “Here you choose the class, race, weapon and armor. We have a vast collection of fraces for you to choose from, and that will affect your base stats, like any RPG would.” He said as Austin went through the race selection. It was rather large, might be the largest selection of races in any game he’s ever been in. Austin then selected his Class: Warrior, and Race: Demon. “Remember this is a demo, so there will be a few things different from traditional RPGs. When you select an armor, you cannot change it after you get done customizing your character. Weapons can still be changed out for different ones, but at least both armor and weapon can be upgraded though.” As Kumoi explained, Austin selected the demon blood crystal armor, and selected a Claymore like sword as his primary weapon and gauntlets as he secondary as Kumoi went on about the weapons available for each class (In the FQA). Once Austin confirmed he was done, the white room started to fall apart revealing a medieval like town around him. “This is Chordata, the city you all will start out in…” Kumoi told them. “You will start out with 10,000 gold, and a few health potions.” He paused and looked Kyugo as he spoke up. “Now are there any questions? If not fallow my intern Kumoi to the room you will set up at.” He told them as he waited for them. The next room they were to be set up in seemed more like a hospital room with all the beds and monitors. “If you don’t have any questions now, but have any in game, there is a help section in your menu and will connect you to one these machi- I mean people that will help.” Kyugo told everyone.

Sumiko-

Sumiko nodded. "Oh, I see. I'm assuming that's your playing style; I've seen quite a few good berserkers in my time. Seeing as I play FPS games a lot, I tend to choose archer classes, or assassin classes; I'm quite good with accuracy and the like. This will be a different experience though." She mused. Brightening at Austin's next remark, she smiled. "Oh, that's great! I'm actually half-Japanese. Do you know the language?" She didn't get a reply, however, when a new voice made her turn around. Seeing that they were about to take away their phones, Sumiko quickly entered a code that would erase all the data on her phone. She had quite a bit of information and private contact numbers for some influential people, and she didn't want that leaving her hands. Handing over the now blank phone, she quirkier her eyebrow, showing slight distaste for Kyugo's smoking. And their names... She tried not to laugh.

Dutifully getting up and following the developer, she listened quietly as Kumoi explained the fiber details, hands unconsciously clenching when she learned that they were going to be asleep and tied down. She knew it was probably part of the gaming "experience", but it was unsettling; usually, gameplay required a working system and controller, maybe a pair of headphones; not something that looked like a motorcycle helmet and required hospital beds for you to lie down in. She suppressed a shiver as she watched those developers and scientists, and that big screen; there was just something so ominous about it all, and she just couldn't shake the feeling that something was going to go terribly wrong. The sterile feel of everything; the mumbled words by the three leading them; perhaps it was just because the system was new. They were beta-testing, after all.

She watched Austin clamber onto the bed and put on the helmet, wondering what his "background" was. Was it just that he was an avid gamer and they could use that, or... Something. Watching in slight awe as she looked at the game through Austin's eyes -it was s surreal; it was like being inside his bran, of sorts- she stared at the blue screen, trying to puzzle it out as well. When she heard that it was the create your character screen, Sumiko brightened; that was one thing that was missing from PS games; you usually couldn't customize your character. Much. She was really going to look forward to this!

When Austin had it all figured out -she had a good chuckle at his name and chosen armour- Sumiko was nearly vibrating with eagerness, all ramped up to play. She had seen the perfect armour when Austin was choosing his, and she wanted to nab it before anyone else. Hurrying after Kumoi towards the hospital room, she chose a hospital bed near the wall and put the headset on, barely feeling them put the restraints on her arms and legs. She nearly gasped when the screen crystallized; it was so surreal and real at the same time, the blue screen looking like it was created, not appeared. It amazed her that it could be so realistic.

Apollo-

| Chordata | W/ No one | Awed |

final-fantasy-yoichi-bow.jpg

Waving her hand down like Austin did and Kyugo explained, she quickly typed in her username; Apollo. Quite predictable, if you knew her background. She went with the archer class and demigod race, also pretty predictable. Just as she was about to put her hands on /her/ armour before anyone else grabbed it, a voice sounded out, resonating around her until she was unsure of where it came from. "Oi. Inoue." A bit of mumbling was heard, followed by a cough and someone clearing their throat. "I mean, Miss Inoue. Uh... Make sure your father doesn't come and start ramming down the door, y'hear? We're just testing a game. That's it." Kyugo's voice cut off abruptly, leaving Sumiko there to puzzle over the strange message. Shrugging, she merely turned back to the armour and selected it; Sun God Armour. Of course. She was just full of... Surprises, today, wasn't she?

She chose the accompanying bow for the armour, as well as a dagger reminiscent of modern day hunting knives. The room suddenly dissolved; Sumiko caught a glimpse of a medieval town, washed in sunlight with birds flying lazily above the buildings, before a slow flash of light erupted and dissolved her to nothingness.

The first thing she did when she "spawned" was run over to a shop window and look at her appearance. She sighed in relief when she saw that little had changed; her eyes were a lighter red, and her hair was a bit longer, around her neck; she also had less... Ah, curves, making her seem like an exceptionally pretty boy. Which was alright, she supposed; it was kind of just like a slightly more masculine version of herself, which she could deal with. She turned and looked around, gazing at everything; the cobbled streets, the smooth walls of the buildings, the blue, blue sky; she sighed, sitting down on the curb, content to just... Stare at everything for a while.

The many different ranges of interaction went past Nora like a blur - she had been too busy thinking of inappropriate things to do to most of the people in the room. And it wasn't different for the scientists when they entered either. The whole time, a dumb grin was spread across her face, before she shook her head lightly and returned to reality. "Straps, eh?" Suppose it was necessary. Without them, who knows, one of them might lash out or fall off the bed and hurt themselves. Which would suck, pretty hard. She let out a light, uncomfortable mumble at the thought. Giggling lowly as Austin tried to figure out the controls, Nora was still listening intently to the scientists on how to operate the complex machine.

It wouldn't take long before Nora had allowed herself to be put down on one of the beds and strapped on, before a helmet was put onto her head. "I can't really feel anythi-..." But that changed quickly. She went completely silent as she found herself in a completely other world - one that seemed to really not even have an existence. It was hard to explain. Some hard imagination was required, but she quickly managed to get herself up to the 'character creation screen'. However, as she was the one to imagine up the scene, something rather inappropriate and obscene was happening off in the background. Because of this, she felt the need to rush her character before anyone noticed - picking the first pair of clothes she found, rapidly selecting 'Archer', and spawning in as quickly as she could.

Whilst the scene at the character creation stage was gone, Nora was met by the pleasantness of a warm breeze coupled with a complete surreal feeling. She spawned right next to the other two, and after having taken in the landscape briefly, looked down at her outfit. "Oi, oi ... maybe a bit revealing. Egh, I shouldn't have rushed character creation ..." She complained, lightly lifting different parts of the outfit before remembering that she couldn't change her armor. Well ... shit. A light sigh escaped her, as she took a look around. "So, is there any way we can communicate with other players at a distance? Or you know, with you people out there? Can't help but feel a bit naked, if you know what I mean." And she did. In this foreign world - as amazing as it was, she wasn't properly orientated yet. "Also," she stared, "If I were to just randomly attack a civilian, what kind'a consequences would that have? Or if some NPC overheard me say what I just said. Would they be worried?" Nora's interest went deeper than the usual game mechanics ... she was vividly interested and occupied with how the world around her would feel and be. After all, it was supposed to be pretty real, and it felt pretty real. But she would look out for things that may break the immersion. "I need to know how much I have to be on guard, y'know." As she finished her inquiry, she gave a short wave to Apollo and Akumada. "Well don't you two look awesome? But, er', yo'h, Apollo, who are you again? Don't recognize the features n'stuff." She says, somewhat surprised. So far, everyone put into the game that she could see were pretty much almost the same as their originals - but whoever the player Apollo was, had undergone a few tweaks. Not that Nora could say anything against, after all, her eyes were a freakin' galaxy purple rather than her usual blue. She's glad most of the muscle tone and body shape stayed though, made it feel far more real.

Her eyes turned towards the sky, and she'd shout for the other beta-testers: "Oi'! When are you all joinin' in?!"

@Kishune , @Athenian And of course all of you when she shouted out at the last part.

Thoughts: Damn, she's such a noob...!

As the town appeared around him, Austin…or rather Akumada’s eyes widen at how real everything seemed. You thought the last of us was a real looking game. Hell this could make you think twice that the place you came from was reality or not.

Austin then looked down at himself and saw the crystal armor on his body. The armor looked great on him, especially the black leather underneath to keep the armor from being seen through. The designs on the gauntlets were spectacular with those spikes, and the red crystal skull crystal design on the shoulders. That’s what lured him to making this armor his own, but there was one thing he didn’t like about the armor though…The helm. Well two, but the ragged cape was part of the chest plate, so he had no choice but to accept that. He reached up to his head and felt the dome like helmet on his head. The design looked good…but he just didn’t like how it seemed more of a face mask than an actual helmet. ‘Hm…I wonder…?’ He thought then started to take off the helm, and to his surprise it did come off. He held it in both his hands and turned it to face him. The horn on the forehead was what really made him dislike it. “Huh, apparently you can’t change armor…but you’re able to un-equip it though.” He said to himself as he looked at the helm. After a short moment has passed a small screen appeared in front of him with some texts on it. It read: ‘Blood Crystal Helm, This helmet is as strong as any metallic material known to man. It is said to be made from the iron found in the blood of a mysterious creature…The creature that holds such a material is unknown.’ “Hm, so they have some lore for the armors as well. Makes me wonder; what rarity this armor would be in the full game?” He asked himself then opened up his menu with a downward wave of his hand and placed the helm in his inventory.

He then looked around and realized he was in the middle of a bustling town. Some the villagers that were in the area looked at him funny, not due to his armor, but about him talking to himself out loud. Akumada realized this then gave the NPC’s a nasty glare out of reflex. The townsfolk gave a somewhat scared look and continued on in a hurry as if they were trying to avoid them. He raised an eyebrow at this and thought to himself. ‘Wow I wouldn’t expect a NPC to react to facial expressions...’ He paused in his thought. “Wait!?” He said then quickly looked around for a reflective surface. He found a window of a clothing shop that had closed on the sign. He looked at his reflection in the window and found that his expressions changed on his character as he wanted them to. ‘Man, it had to take a lot of memory to have this possible.’ He thought as he looked at his reflection. As he looked at himself in the reflection he realized his features on his face changed as well. His hair was brown now, and his face was completely different. He looked a bit older than he was too. ‘Hm, must not have gone through editing process properly, or skipped over something. Oh well I still have my height at least.’ He thought with a shrug. Austin wanted to look more like himself in games he played but failed to do so in this one.

After a bit Akumada decided to take a look through the massive amount of menus to get a hold of the game a bit more. He then found the equipment menu and realized he didn’t have his weapons equipped. He then equipped them, and then suddenly appeared on him. The sword he chose was a pretty long two handed broadsword what was strapped to his back. The gauntlets he chose Looked like they were made out of a bone like material and wondered how go on his existing armor gauntlets. He looked at his arms when he equipped them and noticed that the appearance of both gauntlets looked different than before. The weapon gauntlets just seemed to meld with the armor ones like it was some sort of decoration. Akumada wasn’t going to explain as it actually made them look cooler to him now.

Akumada went back through the menus and continued reading to figure out much on this game’s mechanics. As he read through the menus, he noticed someone approach the shop window and looked at herself in the window and let out a sigh of relief. He raised an eyebrow at the person then noticed the name hovering over their head. ‘Must be one the other testers. Apollo, huh…?’ Thought then realized. “Oh, you must be Sumiko.” He said out loud as he looked her over. Her choice of set up was rather interesting to say the least. Before he could say another word to her, he heard a sound like something warping/spawning in nearby.

He looked in the direction the sound came from and was a bit taken by the hooded female character that had seemed a bit revealing outfit. He was used to revealing clothes on women in other games, but this is different than playing those. You could tell that was just a game and was fake, here everything just seemed so real. Akumada raised an eyebrow as the person seemed to look herself over like she made a mistake. He sighed thinking that they were so excited to play that they skipped over a lot of stuff. When she asked a noob like question about communicating with other players, this took him from being taken back to slightly annoyed. He rubbed his temple, as he listened to her. “Hey!” He called out. “If you want to get in contact with another Player, there is a message section in the menu. You can verbally say your message and it will be sent to the one you’re trying to contact…” He said rather annoyed. He found all this out going through the menus and finding the manuals to different things. “Secondly, if you need to contact the outside world, there is a way to do so…If you paid attention to Kyugo before you got into the game, you know that you can contact them through the help section in the menu…just select the Ask Admin in the help section.” He said as he rolled his eyes at the hooded woman. He then noticed the name over her head. ‘Hexx huh…? Makes sense…she’s already bad luck right from the start.’ He thought to himself.

As for her last question, about the civcilian/NPCs and consequences, it was a good one to ask. That wasn’t stated in the manuals so far he read. But off of experience though; their actions would seem to have some sort of consequences…and what she said would cause them some sort of trouble. Hell some the citizens have even cleared from around her after hearing that. The mean look from Akumada earlier didn’t help either. The people even seemed to be speaking about them and Akumada sighed. ‘Great…just like back home. Things are started after one wrong look…’ He thought as he face palmed himself.

He then looked back at the hooded female again as she seemed to finally notice them and waved. He just looked at her a bit irritated as her noob actions. When she asked who Apollo was in real life Akumada face palmed again. ‘Damn does she even listen…She said back at the lounge that she chose sun gods’ names as her tag…’ He thought, having an idea who this person was. You think his irritation wouldn’t get any worse until she started to shouted. “Quiet! That’s not how you freakin’ communicate!” He told her with a growl.

As The beta testers were getting set up by Kumoi, Kuchiku, and other members of the staff, Kyugo was going though the back ground profiles of the testers and something caught his eye. “Sumiko…Inoue…?” He spoke to himself as he tried to lace where he heard that name. He then looked at her bio. As he read on his eye grew rather wide. “She’s an heiress!” He said out loud then rushed over to where the testers were at and found Sumiko was already under. “Dammit…” He said under his breath then walked up to her and checked the number on her forehead of the head gear. “05…” He said to himself then marched back into the computer room. “Who’s monitoring gear 05!?” He called. One the workers a desk of computer monitors raised his hand. He walked over to the desk and snatched the headset from them and put it on. He then typed something in and then started to speak. “Oi, Inoue…” He said then cleared his voice realizing his tone. “I mean Miss Inoue. Uh…Make sure your father come and start ramming down the door, y’hear? We’re just testing a game. That’s it…” He said then cut off the line before she could respond. He sighed knowing he didn’t make much sense, since she can’t at the moment make any contact outside the game besides to this room.

Kumoi chuckled a bit at Kyugo’s actions. “What’s wrong old man can’t make much sense anymore?”Kumoi said.

Shut it you…!” Kyugo told him.

Sill sucking up to the bigwigs, huh? I thought we had everything we needed for this project through the company?” Kumoi asked as he crossed his arms.

Oh, just because we have a backer doesn’t mean we’re completely safe…people like them can be very vindictive…even after it's resolved as a misunderstanding.” Kyugo said with a not so pleased look.

At another station, one the admin in charge of personally monitoring over one the beta testers while in-game, was staring at his screen in shock at what he was looking at. He was paralyzed by the sight that he didn’t even notice Kuchiku come over and watched with some interest. Her cold/angered look had changed to one of curiosity as bent over to get a clear view of what was going on as a finger rested on her cheek. The guy was just flabbergasted at what he saw.

Kyugo noticed them and wondered what was so entertaining. He walked over with a raised eyebrow and looked over their shoulder at the screen to see what they were looking at. What he saw was not to his liking. “Monitor 04! What the hell do you think you’re doing!?” He asked rather angrily and that was enough to pull them both away from the screen.

Oh, uh sir…I was just wat-” The guy started but was cut off by Kyugo.

I don’t want to hear your excuses! I just better not catch you watching such things on my time, on my system, and with my goddamn daughter ever again! Or I’ll have you ass mounted above my desk as a warning to the next person to take over your job!” He said with a growl as he glared at the guy.

Y-Y-Yes sir!” He replied as he saluted Kyugo, and turned back to the monitor and thankfully Tester 04 (Nora) moved on to the town soon after. Kyugo was too upset at the worker to relieve Kuchiku walked away as he was yelling like she had nothing to do with that as he had a small evil grin on her face and her hands behind her back.

Tsubaki took his eyes off of his magazine and stared back at the red head who glanced over to him after introducing himself to the rest of the players in the lounge. He didn't say anything completely silent and still just looking back at Austin with a death stare which was just his normal face expression. The room was filled with silence for a moment with all the other players lost in their thoughts and Tsubaki and Austin locked in a staring contest when suddenly the silence broke and three employees dresses in lab coats walked in and introducing themselves to the group. The head scientist Kyugo and his interns Kumori and Kuchiko. Tsubaki quickly got a though in his head and began to connect the dots and with his extensive knowledge over History he quickly got the relation of a old group established in 1865 by the first letter of the employee's name. Tsubaki gathered his thoughts and placed the magazine back on the table next to his chair as him as the rest of the players stood up and walked through the door the three employees came through handing over their electronics one by one as they walked by.

The head scientist Kyugo had a typical look to him, as if Tsubaki knew that the creator of this new virtual reality MMO would look like that or something similar. They had arrived to what it seems to be the Main Computer Room judging by the large computer monitor on the wall. "They don't consider their electric bill do they?" he whispered to himself as Kyugo offers a "test drive" for this new machine and Austin later accepting. After Austin went through the procedure of getting transmitted into the virtual world Tsubaki watched him on the big screen as he walked aimlessly towards the end of nowhere and later figuring out how to open the menu from in game. Tsubaki was a rather quick learner and he mimicked the actions of Austin with his right hand as he listened to the guidance of Kyugo and Kumori. "This truly is fascinating. I can't imagine what lies in game." he though to himself as the rest left their current room and entered another, one that more resembled a hospital room with numerous beds and heart rate monitors next to them. Very kind of them to care about their demo players, it would be tradgic for one to have a heart attack while in game and no one notices.

Tsubaki sat on one of the beds and laid back as one of the employees connected all the necessary gear, cords, wires , etc to begin the transmission. "This should be intriguing." he though to himself as his eyes began to fall into a deep sleep and his mind going completely blank for several seconds. He then felt as if he woke back up in the real world, but in a completely different room...it was all white and if you look closely you could see this light blue line starting from where virtual Tsubaki was standing slide up the wall in a very distinctive pattern and beautiful lighting. Tsubaki quickly motioned to summon the menu and began his character creation. He took his time, but at a fast pace. He topped off his character design with a symbol arched across his avatar's face and selected Rogue.

**Spawning In**

Tsubaki...now Midori has reached the end of his first task and spawning just a few yards away from the other three that stood side by side discussing...whatever newbies talk about when they get a new game. A short strong sigh left Midori as he looked at his left arm which was covered in a brown cloth and strapped to his shoulder and forearm concealing what could have been a something he picked without awareness. "What is it?" his voice was deep and it had a soft echo to it when he spoke. He turned back to the three other players then looked forward again, pulling his red scarf up to cover his mouth and try to stay that strong silent type.

Spear Of Arc, 10 000 Golden Coins,Rapier

Jeanne was so tired of listenining to these people talk but she didn't really have a choice, if she didn't know how anything worked, she'd be a pretty useless beta tester and so, when the time came that they did stop talking, she was more than happy finally be strapped in. The scientists were silent as they guided her to a different room and as they strapped her down. They spoke among themselves for a bit before they both turned to Jeanne. They smiled at her and finally put the helmet onto her head. Jeanne waited for them to say something about it but no, no such thing happened. One minute she was strapped down to fancy chair bed, as she called them, and they all of a sudden she was floating in a while void, her feet barely touching the surface that she deemed to be water, below her. She looked around for a moment only to see a bunch of giant lotus flowers, swimming about. The scene was mystical, she could hardly believe her eyes. She was about to head towards one when a series of menus popped up.

Ah. Character creation, her favorite part of any game.

She chuckled lightly to herself and she began to press several buttons on the menus, picking out her eye color, hair color, hair style, body type, skin tone. This was just amazing. Every press of the button actually changed her appearance! She giggled like a school girl and she finally pressed the next button which then asked her for her race. A rather large amount of races. She skimmed through some, pressing the button of the races to see how she would look if she were to pick them. Many of them she liked, there were only a few she didn't really both pressing though. Since this is a beta test only, she figured she'd be generic and go with a human. A class menu took the race menus place and she began to press all available classes to see what each one was like. If she was going to be generic, she would need a generic class. Warrior. She pressed it and suddenly the world around her faded away and her vision faded to black. What happened?

Well, she had finally made it into the actual game. Yeah, she was in Chordata now. She looked down at herself and marveled at the beautiful armor she had so carefully picked out when she was essentially playing dress up. She was a glorious looking warrior who would bathe in the blood of her enemies on the battlefield. She looked around for a moment and only then did she notice the other beta players. She looked at them for a moment and part of her wanted to go over to them but the other part of her wanted to explore already. She shook her head, for now she would stick with the group and later on she would branch off from them and enjoy the world around her, hopefully getting into plenty of battles to get stronger and stronger until even in-game mountains fear her very footsteps.

She smiled evilly to herself before she opened up her menu only to see that she had some stuff. Namely a beautiful spear with a rather interesting flag on it which she promptly equipped and also a beautiful looking rapier which when she equipped, did not take the spears place but instead strapped itself to her waist. She also say that she had some potions and whopping 10,000 gold coins. No doubt she is going to save it. Maybe if she kept it, when the actual game out, they'd let her transfer some stuff and having this much gold at the beginning of any MMORPG would do wonders for her. She closed her menus and only then did she notice the large amount of NPC's around, walking and talking to each other. How nice. She finally took a step towards the other four who had logged in.

Taken slightly aback, Nora still takes Austin's quick tutorial on board. Having shouted out like that, she couldn't help but feel ever so slightly embarrassed, though she tried to not let it show. "Aah ... er ... yeah." She fumbled with her words, but quickly afterwards seemed somewhat annoyed as well, smitten by Austin's attitude. She'd flick her wrist up, opening her menu, and turn around. Shortly after, she'd start spamming Akumada's inbox with messages ranging from: 'Nice weather eh?' to 'Yoh stop being so rude yeah' and just heaps of random emoticons. When she felt she had made enough of an impression, she wiped her forehead and struck a victorious pose, with both hands on her hips, letting out a light sigh. Passive-aggressive vengeance is the best kind'a vengeance. But she quickly re-posed herself to seem more idle. Hopefully he won't take it too bloody seriously ... seems the type.

Skipping over to Akumada, Nora was about to completely invade his personal space before other players spawned in not too far off. She'd give a half-hearted wave to the two new-spawners. With her head tilted, she muttered to Midori: "Yo'h, what is that thing on your arm? I didn't see that in the character creation -..." Her voice sprinkled with curiosity. Upon her arrival, Nora would give a confident nod of welcome to Luna St.Claire XII. "Allo' Luna St.Claire XII-... That is actually a tad' long of a name, don't you think? Can't shout that out to warn ya', as you'd already have been hit by it before I finish. Have any preferred shorter versions? Maybe Claire? Luna? St - C?" She inquired.

While idle, she would rummage through her inventory using the menu, flicking down her wrist somewhat lazily. Shortly after, she would've equipped her one-handed repeater crossbow, somewhat amazed by its design. Whilst idle, she'd figure out the loading mechanism and so on - ensuring that the bolts she had on her fit together with in the casing the crossbow used. Furthermore, she equipped a short, curved blade that appeared on her hip as soon as it was selected. "This stuff is pretty neat." She remarked, twisting her hip side to side and looking at the blade.

Apollo-

Chordata | w/ everyone | Sheepish |

Apollo whipped her head up when she heard someone calling her username, still not quite used to exactly how sensitive this game was as she unsteadily got to her feet. She gazed at Nora for a second before quickly averting her eyes, a faint blush showing up on pixelated(hi-Rez?) cheeks. If she was in any other situation, she would have marveled at how such a basic reaction could show itself in-game, but currently she was too busy dutifully avoiding looking Nora anywhere but in the eyes. Call her cultured, smooth, calm; it might have all been true, but she was also sheltered. She had no concept of really public... Anything, and a revealing outfit was basically unheard of; besides, most FPS games didn't bride themselves on "the skimpier, the better". Rubbing the back of her neck, Apollo raised a hand. "Thank you very much; I think you look..." Apollo's mouth visibly worked, jaw clenching for a moment. "...Unique. It's actually me, Sumiko; I just look a bit more... Masculine. The red-haired girl from the lounge. It's nice to meet you again... Nora, I presume? Your voice sounds quite familiar. Or would you prefer Hexx?" She said, bowing quite smoothly at the waist despite the new gameplay mechanics and the armour. It seemed old habits died hard, as always.

Turning -a bit smoother this time- at the sound of another familiar voice, Apollo smiled. "Ah! Austin. It's very nice to see you again." She said, a small, impish grin on her face as she managed another swift bow. "I must say, your pairing of demon armour and demon username is quite fitting. Although I'm sure I cannot be one to talk." She chuckled slightly, bringing up her own equipment and statistics. Selecting her armour, Apollo was surprised to find actual data and lore behind it; in her haste, she hadn't bothered to read it.

"This armour was stolen from the forges of a godly metalsmith. It was originally to be given as a gift to the godly sun, in exchange for lenience on earth. They say those who don't this armour become deities themselves for the power imbued within. Be careful not to draw the attention of the sun god, lest he rain his wrath upon you." She read aloud, a small frown dimpling her forehead and twisting her mouth. "Stealing? From a god? Dear lord, that's quite a mighty offense. I sure hope this lore is just for show." Exiting her armour and equipping her small dagger, Apollo flipped the strangely modern knife around and around in her hands. "This is quite a nice blade, as well; it reminds me of the weapon I would sometimes use to trick others in Gun Game, or Call of Duty." She smirked slightly, a roguish expression flitting across her features before they smoothed into a placating smile.

"Now, now; Akumada, I'm sure it's just a simple mistake, and quite easy to fix. Hexx probably didn't even mean to do it." She said soothingly. Shifting and laying a compassionate hand on his shoulder, then on Hexx's; she was more of a person of action than of words when it came to being an arbiter, although it certainly didn't seem so. Apollo turned at the sound of more people. Gazing at the newcomers, she smiled and bowed to the two of them. "It's very nice to see you all, fellow beta testers!" She murmured. "Although I'm not sure who you were in the lounge. My apologies; what were your real life names, again?" She mused, a finger on her chin as she gazed at the two of them in thought. Gazing at Hexx again, she gave the blades a short glance before looking away, rather uncomfortable again. Ah, well; at least this game could give her a bit of experience in the outside world, no matter how virtual it was.

Thoughts: About damn time...

After Akumada basically yelled at the noob acting Nexx, he noticed another player spawning in. He looked at the player and noticed the white hair right off the back. He made the connection that this was the guy he had locked eyes with in lounge. The look he received from him wasn’t too pleasant., but then again the usual look on his face wasn’t as welcoming either…and that trait didn’t get left out of his game character either. When the rogue name Midori turned his back to them, Akumada huffed as he turned his attention back to Hexx as another female spawned who had the name Luna St. Claire XIII.

Akumada crossed his arms as Hexx responded to him. He raised an eyebrow as she opened her menu and turned from them. The next think he knew he was having a chime go off in his head, and a message appeared in the top corner of his vision that was just barely in sight saying: ‘! New Message’. He looked at it confused as the chime just seemed to keep going off. He then opened up his menu and saw that his mailbox was steadily being filled with mail. ‘Who is sending me…’ He thought as he opened it and saw they all were from Hexx. “Mail…” He said to himself as his eyebrow twitched out of annoyance. ‘She’s not just a noob…but a troll at that…!?' He thought as he clenched his fist. He then deleted all her messages as she finally stopped sending them. The chime for the messages was now so annoying to him that he then went to the options section and turned it off, and was tempted to block Hex from messaging him as she seemed to approach him. As she drew closer he could just feel her intent on wanting to continue to annoy him, and was close to actually blocking her, but changed his mind when she turned her attention to Midori and Luna. He then closed his menus and crossed his arms; giving her another chance before he did actually did block her.

Akumada then crossed his arms again as he just stood there letting the others mingle as he waited for missions to start. He noticed Apollo as she started to stand. She seemed uneasy for some reason. He raised an eyebrow at that as e continued to watch her respond to Hexx. ‘Is she nervous about Hexx’s outfit or envious…?’ He couldn’t tell by looking at her. In real, life Austin wasn’t really keen on such things. Akumada listened as Apollo went on and talked with Hexx, and sighed when she used their actual names. “You know it’s rude to use a player’s actual name, you know?” He told her as he looked in her direction as she bowed at him. When she commented on his name and armor, he gave her a slight nod. “It does look like armor a demon would wear, but the name is something I just came up with in the creation…but it does seem to be a name that fit a demon.” He told her. He then listed to Apollo’s lore on her armor. It actually had an interesting lore to it. Forged by a god for a sun god, but was stolen and turn those who wear it into a deity. “Hm, sound like your armor’s a rare item from an even or something. Mine’s just made out of rare material from in unknown creature. But even with the lore, the stats are that of basic armor, and with no added effects either.” He insured her as he looked at his stats earlier before they all showed up. Apollo then went on about her knife reminding her of a modern knife and Akumada shrugged at that. There could be town or something that was futuristic of some sort. There usually are some in RPGs at times.

Akumada then looked at Apollo as she called him by his username, and said that Hexx might just made a simple mistake. He grumbled in response. ‘Yeah right…as if sending me all those messages were a mistake…’ He thought in annoyance as he felt her place a hand on his shoulder. He then let out a sigh and looked at her and Hexx. He then let out a sigh and gave her a nod to tell he took her words into consideration, before she started talking to the others that arrived.

Soon a different chime went off in all the Players’ heads and an announcement window opened in front of them out of nowhere reading:

Announcement

The missions in Chordata are now available! Now hurry off, and start your adventure!

Akumada saw this and his eyes widen a bit in curiosity. He closed the menu and left the group of beta testers without a word towards the center of town. He read in the manual in the help section that the missions are accepted on a quest board in the center of towns and cities. Guilds will also have them but guilds are formed by players. It didn’t take him long to get to the board since they basically spawned on main street that lead to the center of the city that they were in. Akumada found the Quest Board and looked it over. There were few quests to choose from and some just seemed useless…He soon settled on the mission called ‘Celestial Howl’. “This should be a good start…I should be able to get a hold of the game.” He said to himself and reached out for the quest paper and a window opened. ‘Would you like to accept this quest as the quest leader?’ it said. Akumada didn’t hesitate to press the accept option and now he formed a party now…All he had to do was wait for others to join him.

W/Beta-testers

Mood: Curious

Several voices interrupted the sleeping red head, as she opened her eyes towards it's direction. She glared at the man who then declared himself the owner of the company and it's enterprises. Lifting herself from the couch with a push of both hands, she glared at him intently, listening keenly to the relevant information. From the sound of his voice to the very looks on the man, Skye could tell that he was a man of authority, and quite the serpent too.

Watching as he had instructed two of his seemingly co-partners, she arched a brow at them. Skye would have laughed if it wasn't for the atmosphere of the company. Their names were indeed strange, though she does have some knowledge of the Japanese language. But, to say that the names were genuine first names would be a total lie. Skye suppressed a smirk from appearing on her lips, as she continued listening to the man. She watched as he directed an order to one of them, and Skye could feel some slight irritations radiating from the girl. Handing her cellphone to her, she watched as the other beta-testers gave their devices to the girl.

An instruction was once again given, as Skye, along with the other beta-testers walked in a single line towards the area of the actual experiment. The entire area was filled with various equipments, and she observed the workers who had no time for them. She thought how hard they must have worked to bring forth such achievements with various uncommon gadgets. The man guided them towards a bed where he stated he Would try his first test. Seeing all those equipments made Skye a bit nervous, but she still listened as the man made mention of the same hot-headed boy who seemed much more eager than anyone else to be the first participant. Soon, she observed as the girl placed the head device over his head, before imstantly falling asleep.

She observed keenly how the boy operated the system from within the game, customizing himself. As she saw the sudden change, she wanted to take part all the more, all the slight nervousness depleting. She then followed the man's instruction, as she made her way towards one of the hospitalizes beds, the girl gently placimg it over her head. She saw as the others had already made their way inside the game's database. Within the very instant, she was no longer in the actual world.

Skye gasped lightly, finding herself shrouded in darkness, with only a tiny bit of light radiating from a distance. Sliding her hands as instructed, the menu appeared before her. Skye smirked, as she entered her regularly played username, "Kai" into the database then pressed the accept bar which was below. Then appeared the customized section which she then realised, was now shrouded in white. It was as if millions of clothing appeared before her. Using a finger, she slid it randomly, until she found a particular garment which she quickly selected, as it suddenly pixelated around her body from a simple click.

She was indeed amazed.

Kai then selected weaponry, as she saw many weapons appeared before her. It took her a great deal of time to find the right one until she saw a particular one. Its name alone would have it belonging to her. 'Hades', as stated under the twin swords appeared before her then she clicked accept. The swords appeared instantly in her hands. Kai inspected the blades, admiring its shape and unique built. Sword of such a caliber could only be found in games. She laughed quietly to herself, as she tapped for several kunai which she then places in her inventory.

Suddenly, a new enviornment appeared around her. A village filled with people bustled about, with a few who watchem them curiously, as if to question their origin. That was when she had realised that she was now in the game, realising the change of appearance with the other testers. She saw a half broken glass as she walkes towards it. She was indeed surprised by the change of her hair, her body structure and a bit of height. Holding her blades carefully in her hands, she lifted the blade towards her face. Truly, she loved the change. Indeed beautiful, yet appeared to be invincible bad-ass...

She then watched as the boy who had first arrived, walked away from them. Curious as to what he was about to do, she followed him, then noted the name of a mission which was written on a board. She then read the entire mission before casting her eyes towards the boy..

Rheanna Knightly

go-char-jpg.159066

Sitting in her wheelchair had Rheanna been looking around, following the group of individuals before her from afar and incredibly inconspicuously as they all disappeared after 'making their characters'. Incredibly intrigued, she wheeled after them and was faced with her own character creation. She was never really anything amazing to look at, except for her brilliant flash of light auburn hair; otherwise, she was a small, frail girl who appeared almost anorexic at this point.

After a long and tedious debate with herself, Rheanna ended up deciding on a magical rogue girl of sorts, that being clearly inspired from Lewis Carroll's 'Alice in Wonderland', as she soon warped to the world that everyone else had presumably been sent off to.

The white lights dissipated, and she was right. There was a couple strange individuals in front of her that oddly reminded her of the others from before in an unintelligible way that probably only she could see without being introduced to them first. Her character was everything she was not: gorgeous, full-figured, generous proportions that did not look absolutely sickly or horrendous to just even glance at, and fully lolita and fashionable.

MissMacabre
then stumbled once she looked down at her legs, actual working legs, and soon crumpled down to the floor. Her face lit up red like a ripe tomato and attempted to scramble back onto her feet. With semi-wide eyes, she looked at the others uncomfortably and stumbled for words. "Uhh... Not used to legs." MissMacabre said simply.

A light scoff escaped Nora. "How is using someone's real name rude? What, would you prefer to be called Akumada? I mean, eh, sure, whatever floats your boat hot-blood." Both of Nora's palms faced the sky in a half-hearted shrug, her shoulders shifting ever so slightly as her head tilted. "Personally, I don't really care or mind." As everyone seemed quite pleased and surprised reading their armor background, Nora whipped her wrist about to open the menu and find her armor's description. Reading it to herself, she simply narrowed her eyes for a few moments, blushing slightly. Shutting down the menu, she re-focused.

Two more players spawned in, MissMacabre and Kai. An enthusiastic wave was given to the two of them. "Eya'! Welcome!" She'd shortly after send them both a private message to their INBOX with the same message, just in case. "Come on, we're already moving onto the first ques-..." Before she could even finish her sentence, a '!' appeared on her wrist. Flicking up her menu, she found the invite from the Quest Leader: Akumada. Smirking, Nora thought to herself: Of course Mr. Hot-head is going to charge straight on ahead - wonder if he'll be a bloody dictator. Either way, she closed off her menu and would try to encourage the other present Beta-Tester members to move towards Akumada's current position so that they could regroup. "Yo'h, come on, come on. We're already starting." She smiled sheepishly as she made her way towards Akumada at the Town Centre. As soon as she arrived, she'd attempt to place her flat palm at his shoulder and push him lightly. "So, already elected yourself Quest Leader, eh?" A fiendish grin spread across her face as her head tilted slightly to the side, a hand placed on her hip. After the push, whether successful or not, she'd have taken a step back to stand at a relatively comfortable 1 meter distance. "Guess we'll be in your care then."

For a few seconds, she eyed up a few of the NPC's, her eyes going all googly and a perverse grin forming on her face. A gross giggle escaped her as she eyed up various NPC's. She'd mutter lowly: "Eheheehe ... wonder what the age rating on this game is." Shaking her head left and right, she cleared her throat and re-arranged her hood. She'd then say so that people could actually hear her: "You know, being beta-testers and all-... Yes. We have to test the extent of-... The reality! The reality of the game. Of course. That is why we are here." It didn't take her long to realize she was talking to no one and mostly herself. She continued to mumble inaudibly under her breath. Probably things that no one wanted to hear. Suppose that her jester and mischievous attitude was slowly starting to emerge as she felt more and more comfortable in the game world.

@Kishune , and well yeah, briefly with others.

Sumiko-

Sumiko apologized profusely. "I'm terribly sorry, I didn't know. Usually I call people I am acquaintances or friends with by their name when we play games." She was about to apologize some more when a few more players spawned in. Saying a greeting to both Kai and MissMacabre, she smiled welcomingly at the two. "It's nice to meet you two as well! Welcome to the beta party. I presume that Akumada's gone off to find us some quests, although I'm not sure what the party limit is." Frowning, she sent Akumada a message; he seemed like the one to know most about this. She played FPS games too often to really know that much about standard RPG parties, anyways. Hey, Akumada; what is the party limit for this game? Do you know? She was pulled out of her thoughts when MissMacabre stumbled. She herself had been a bit unused to the easy speed behind her legs, requiring almost no exertion at all to move. Rushing forward and helping the girl up, Sumiko stared at her in concern. "Are you alright? That was quite the tumble." She moved back a few paces, obviously wanting to give the girl space; she'd had a few bad situations, helping people up, as most were quite surprised at having a tall woman suddenly at their elbow no matter how kind they were being.

Sumiko smiled at Hexx when she said she wouldn't mind what username to use. "I'll keep that in mind." She mused, raising an eyebrow when she seemed to blush a few moments later, looking at... Something. Turning towards Akumada a few lengths away, she gave MissMacabre an encouraging smile before setting off and standing next to him. Selecting the quest as well, she smiled at Akumada. "It seems someone here is taking initiative." She joked teasingly. "Would you mind adding me to the party?" She continued. Hearing a strange giggle from Hexx, she raised a brow again. "Whatever do you mean? I don't believe the age-rating was or is released yet, the game is still a bit early in development." She clearly didn't get it and probably wouldn't unless explicitly explained; thus is the fate of a girl who was quite sheltered for most of her life.

Emi Shizuka

Emi shuffled uncomfortably in her seat, adjusting her scarf for what must have been the fifteenth time in that very hour. Everyone in the room seemed so intimidating at that point, even the one in the wheelchair. She usually warmed up to people so much easier, what was wrong with her? It's just so... awkward. Frowning, she scooted further away from everyone again, silently reprimanding herself for not trying to make friends despite her actions. She heard someone walk in and looked up, opening her mouth to say something when she heard one of the others flare up at the poor guy doing his job. Somehow this led to an actual conversation, which she again failed to muster up any courage to input anything, not even her name. She did, however, manage to absorb any info that was being passed around, thankfully, she could have another try in-game. It was another while before they were told that everything was finally done. She dropped her friend and siblings another text before handing over her phone and curiously following the group as they made their way into the lab. Emi was soon faced with creating her own character, and she did so quickly, bubbling with excitement as she finished and watched the room fade.

//I'm not putting in a picture for the armor just yet, bc though I've got a reference for the outfit when I was making Emi, I don't have one of her actually in it. So you'll have to excuse the blankness for a while, though take note that she's got on her scarf and a cloak at this very moment. Also me trying to format hAh//

Whatever previous doubt she had in her mind faded away with the raw excitement of experiencing something as unique as this. She pushed back her hood as she observed her reflection in the window of a shop, satisfied that she looked exactly as she'd wanted. The same brown hair that she had in real life and the scarf she always wore, now accompanied with a pair of brilliant red eyes. God, her siblings would have loved this. She'd test the hell out of this whole thing just for their sake so they could enjoy this when the actual version was released. Turning, she spotted her fellow testers and smiled brightly before making her way over, stopping beside a MissMacabre. "Sorry I'm late to the party." Shikami said apologetically, rocking on her heels as she tried to link the usernames to the actual names of the people. She loved everything about this whole thing, from the design to the stunning realism on every part of this game. She smiled at a passing NPC, who surprisingly returned it. How cute!

The girl glanced curiously at a group of them huddling near a board, tipping her head to one side. "Do you happen to know what they're doing?" she asked the one beside her, "I love your hair, by the way."
