Every Adventure Requires a First Step
Credits to the book, Freaks in the Heartland by Steve Niles/ Greg Ruth. I changed it up a bit though.

All the mothers in town had a kid. It was weird. All of 'em got pregnant at the same time, and all delivered all in the same week. But, boy, when they got a look at y'all they just went nuts. I remember everybody blaming everybody for it. They said it was the bombs,the water some thought it was the devil himself. They blamed this that and the other. The only thing they agreed on was they hated you. Thats why they faked y'alls death, i guess.
What do you do, when your brother/sister who you were told to love is born with a different face and strange abilitys? What do you do when, your own family begins to say it was the work of the devil and that they should all be punished no matter what the outcome be? Would you save your only other family and run like mad through the hills or would you sit back and watch?
Under the weathered skies of England's heartland, and in the wounded hearts of every family in one tiny rural town, a terrible secret has been kept for too many years. Now a group of children must try to keep those secrets from falling victim to their worst fears.
Now they must run, and do what they can to survive a cold life by themselves saving the rest of the secrets from becoming the past. Will you join them or will you sit back and watch as those who have done nothing to you lose their life over the fact that their different and will never look or act like you.

So basically were looking at a small town/village place, where children were born different. They looked like any super natural. They were hidden from the rest of the world. Never to be seen, but then one simple mistake was made and all hell broke lose. The people of the village decided it was time to get rid of them all. So they prepared to kill them. But one boy had the courage to save them. Because they had never did anything wrong ever. At least not wrong enough to be killed for it.
