"The rain poured from the sky as the grieving family watched their oldest son be buried. The mother lay weeping in her husbands arms, and her daughter looked to her remaining brother.


“Jessie...why are they burying Edward?” She asked, her innocent voice wavering.


“Ed...is going on a long trip. We won’t see him again for a long time.” Her older brother explained. Jessie knew exactly what was going on. He knew his brother had been stolen by the fever, He knew his brother wasn’t coming back.


“Where’s he going?”


“He’s going to stay with Grandpa for a while, at the summer house.” He lied, smoothing his sisters hair. His white dress shirt was translucent now, the soaked cloth hanging heavily on his shoulders. Jessie was secretly holding back tears, knowing he had to be strong. For his mother, his sister, and Edward. He reread the tombstone, biting his lip. ‘Edward August Phillips. 1835-1850.’"


So in this plot, Jessie can still see Edward's ghost, and no one else can. Edward is always following Jessie, until one day, he disappears, and Jessie meets a girl who looks oddly like Edward...


Technically, this romance could be considered incest, but idgaf.
