Ivy was up early making breakfast for her kids. Today there was a meeting being held in the apartment building as it was newly opened for low income families. She was anxious to go and to see who lived in the building with them. “Come get guys so we can head down” she called out to her kids, putting the plates on the table she sighed messing with a few of her braids. Letting her kids eat and mess around for a few she went off to shower knowing her oldest would watch out for her sister.
A stressful week was ahead for Ivy as she had to find a part time job and a new babysitter. She went through a lot of them because most were teens who couldn’t stay late since she took night classes. Being a single parent was hard especially not being able to meet their needs at times. In the shower she washed up enjoying the time alone. Once out she drsssed in jeans and a plain white t-shirt, slipping one her Nike slippers and went out to the kitchen. “You guys ready?” She said picking up the house keys and putting them around her neck.
