Something like that.

So, what time is this game set in? Like, what big event is this game set closest to and what year is it?

Name: Donnie (Short for Doorknob)

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Race: Vault Dwelling Human

Appearance: Donnie has short black hair, not well kept, and is rather consistently dirty. His eyes are a rather standard brown, and he's mostly unremarkable, standing at 6'0". He wears his old Vault jumpsuit almost always, and he keeps it very clean. He also wears a a pre-war baseball cap most of the times, for the team "The Florida Gators". He doesn't know what baseball is.

Personality: Donnie has terrible social skills, but is generally quite docile. He is an "autistic savant", meaning he is very good at one particular thing while being terrible at most everything else. The one thing Donnie is good with: Machines. Donnie loves machines, from laser rifles to cyberdogs to the very rare still functioning car. Wherever there are machines, Donnie will have a field day.

Inventory: Donnie has a canteen from the vault, Vault 24, and his Pip Boy. Other than that he has very little.

Weaponry: A laser pistol with lightning bolts crudely drawn on the side, referred to as "Super Shooter". As well, he is followed around by a Mister Handy with an angry face drawn beneath each eye, labelled "PROTECTOTRONIC".

Backstory: Donnie comes from Vault 24. Vault 24, like almost all the vaults, was a social experiment. The point of Vault 24 was to see whether or not a group of people could truly be fully sustained by only robotic labor. To ensure that none of the human residents did any work, every single person placed in the vault was mentally handicapped in some way, ranging from moderate brain problems to practically brain dead. The experiment, for the most part, was a success: The robots indeed kept the residents alive and the vault was safe.

Until one day, a child was born different. This child did not have the standard deficiencies: he was normal. Worse, the child quickly came to learn that he was the only able-minded person in the whole vault. This immediately went straight to his head, and before long the vault was ruled by "Lord Overseer Ralph (Short for Refrigerator). Ralph ruled with an iron fist, or rather, several iron appendages, as he used the many Mister Handys that were kept around to boss the others around.

During Ralph's reign, another different child was born. This child, Doorknob/Donnie, was not quite as "normal" as Ralph, but he proved that when it came to mechanical things, he was by far superior to anyone ever before to have lived within the vault. This scared Ralph. If the "drooling masses" ever put two and two together, pretty soon he'd have an uprising on his hands. And so, he picked Donnie for a "special" mission: He tasked the boy with exploring the wastelands beyond the vault, providing him with a canteen, a single change of clothes (which ended up accidentally being left behind), one laser pistol from the armory and a single Mister Handy. And with that, Donnie was sent off in exile, likely to never return.

Other: To account for the special needs of the vault dwellers, all Pip Boys from Vault 24 come with special additions, including a "Sleepytime Clock", telling residents when to go to bed, and a "Meal or No Meal?" analyzer to indicate whether an object was safe to eat or not.

Name: Goes by Zero- Real Name Unknown

@Wastes Storyteller pm me if you want the name

Age: 227 (Achieved through cryo-stasis)

Gender: Male

Race: Human, Caucasian

Appearance:

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_05/upload_2015-5-1_16-26-7.png.4a73eddb9b22cf639611e9427d4d30f7.png" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="50909" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_05/upload_2015-5-1_16-26-7.png.4a73eddb9b22cf639611e9427d4d30f7.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

Personality: Zero is narcissistic, very intellectual, arrogant, charismatic, perceptive, extroverted, and intuitive

Inventory:

-A lightly armored bodysuit

-A stimpak

-Three mentats

Weaponry

-A steel sword

-A customized plasma pistol

-4 EMP Grenades

Backstory: Zero was one of the greatest minds of the 21st century. He currently has a degree in engineering and robotics with some knowledge of medicine. Zero's household robotic servants, dubbed M.A.I.D.s (Masterful Artificial Intelligence Droids) were released to select households just weeks before the bombs fell. Zero himself was escorted to Vault 0 (where he got his namesake) and put him in cryostasis. When Zero awoke, armored knights and another vault citizen were shooting up the robotic attendants. Those of his colleagues still alive suffered brain damage and dementia. Zero was one of the only residents that got out with his intelligence. These knights, who called themselves an order of steel escorted him off the premises and to safety. Afterward in exchange for some schematics, the knights equipped Zero with some equipment and set him on his way. Now, Zero traverses the Wasteland still amazed by what the fallout has done. It's quite likely that he is the last pre-war human still alive.

Other: Some more culturally-oriented ghouls may recognize him.

Canonically, he's sorta sound. There were indeed a number of cryogenically-preserved humans in Vault 0 and there was a Brotherhood assault on it, though MAID robots don't exist and all the Vault Zero civilians mostly stayed out of the way of The Warrior's group.

A super-genius from before the war miraculously avoiding the negative effects of cryogenic preservation, somehow escaping the Midwestern Brotherhood of Steel's custody on good terms, and becoming a wandering cyberninja are all pretty weird, even for Fallout.

To address your concerns

A. The MAIDs were only sent to 500 homes before the bombs fell

B. Zero didn't step in front of the Warrior or anything, but he did interject to the rear of the Brotherhood troops

C. Not all negative effects were avoided, he has massive headaches from time to time that are only relieved via mentats

D. Well, he shared a few dozen schematics, and the Brotherhood did rough him up some

E. Not really a cyberninja, he just carries the sword around for intimidation (Not really a fighter)

Sorry for not addressing those in my CS

Your character is still extremely fanfictiony, by virtue of him being a Pre-War supergenius. The idea that the Brotherhood would simply let him go after he provided a "few dozen" schematics he had committed to memory is very suspect, added on to the fact that this scientist, when faced with a horrifying wasteland filled with raiders and monsters, promptly decided to grab a gun, a suit of ninja armor, and a katana.

It's probably just me, but your character idea kinda defeats the point of Fallout. I'll leave any demands or requests to the GM, though. I've already acted way too snootily towards your character.

The only way I could make sense out of this is that the character would miraculously envelop a Chinese Officer Sword and a Chinese Stealth Suit as its the only canon versions of a katana and ninja suit(Aside from Mothership Zeta and GRA in New Vegas, but only if we were talking about a katana). If they were as common in use as they were in Operation: Anchorage, then I could see sorta slightly how they could have these in a hidden Chinese bunker in the US. Though getting these literally right after getting out of a cryo sleep in a world you barely understand is a stretch.

Well, Chinese swords were common in Fallout 3. However, the Chinese don't use katanas.

Beyond that, finding a katana in good condition would probably be difficult, since there really isn't any infrastructure left to make them and they wouldn't rank high on any pre-war armory's list. It's possible that this katana is just one of Zero's heirlooms from before he was frozen but it seems odd the Vault would let him take a weapon in with him.

My best guess is that some wealthy raider with a book on Japanese swordsmithing and the tools needed to make a katana decided one day to just forge one, and Zero looted it from his body.

I know they don't use them, I was just saying for the sake of logic that the sword would more than likely be with a Chinese Stealth Suit.

Though, it's all in the sake of the creativity of the writer.

Wow... A lot. I didn't really read it all but I got a general idea.

And @Deadkool, this is not accepted. It is not original and you practically, no, you did rip off Borderlands.

Name: Warren Li

Age: 26

Gender: Male

Race (Includes ghouls): Human

Appearance (realistic photo or good description): (I just grabbed a random stock photo, though it looks pretty good lol)

smile-%E2%80%94-young-Asian-man-2926282.jpg

He wears a mask in public to conceal the scars that he accumulated on the corners of his mouth, courtesy of a roaming band of raiders.

Personality: He likes observing, not interacting. He'll stalk a person for days, just watching them do what they're doing. Sometimes, he makes up his own stories for these people (despite not knowing them at all,) and writes "dossiers" of sorts into his journal, which is very important to him. He also has a strange affection for canned meat.

He's also...slightly sociopathic. He is VERY protective of his journal, and tends to get panic attacks when it isn't in his possession at all times. He's very insecure about his face, so one would do well not to take note of them. In essence, he's a rather eccentric individual, though merry at the very least.

Inventory: Binoculars, his prized journal, a handheld flashlight, a makeshift gas mask (made from a water bottle and rag) and a small pocket knife.

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_05/57a8c24f3f915_Screenshot2015-05-01at4.34.49PM.png.0322ef4bd798ff086cf9c75d3e4205c2.png" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="50924" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_05/57a8c24f3f915_Screenshot2015-05-01at4.34.49PM.png.0322ef4bd798ff086cf9c75d3e4205c2.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

Weaponry: He primarily uses a 9mm pistol for ranged encounters, whereas he uses a hatchet up-close.

Backstory: Warren was a kickboxer from further east, and enjoyed the profession very much; he did this for a few years, and made quite a name for himself as the Jackrabbit (though he didn't much like the name.) After about 6 years or so, however, he decided that the life wasn't really going to do much for him in the long run, and as such went further south for a change of pace. Unfortunately, during his travels Li was ambushed by a band of raiders who (obviously) were hoping to loot him. Despite his best efforts to fight them off, they simply outnumbered and outgunned him, and he was soon captured and searched. When they found that he had near nothing, the sadistic gang decided that they would still be able to have a bit of fun with him; they cut his mouth from ear to ear, giving him a horrific "smile" to live with for the rest of his days. Warren never did recover from such an event, and as such, his mental state has become...less than intact.

Other: As he is of Chinese descent, he is fluent in Chinese as well as English. Since he made a career of being a kickboxer, he is also skilled in hand-to-hand combat, although he doesn't use said skill unless he is entirely unarmed.

I made a Super Mutant, if that's all right with you.

Name: Leonard

Age: ??? (born 2113, mutated 2131)

Gender: Queer

Race: Caucasian

Appearance:
8rTlozO.jpg

Personality: Leonard is almost universally calm, and is quick to forgive. Being a second-generation Super Mutant, Leonard suffers from profound brain damage, and his mental state has been reduced to somewhere around the level of an eight-year-old child. Leonard is immensely fearful of delicate objects, because he fears he might break them.

Inventory:

  • One pet rat, named George
  • One reusable canteen
  • Seven human skulls, of unknown origin.
  • Several unfired bullets of various calibers, embedded in sternum.
  • One child-size backpack, strapped to belt.
  • Three of his own teeth, kept in a pouch.

Weaponry: Leonard has only his fists.

Backstory: Born in a caravan family, Leonard spent most of his childhood traveling and tending to Brahmin. At the age of 18, he was kidnapped by a band of The Master's soldiers, moved to the Mariposa Military Base, and dipped in a vat of FEV. Having been born in the Wasteland and thus infected with a lesser strain of the FEV, Leonard's body responded poorly to the conversion process. Now a retarded, addled behemoth of a humanoid, Leonard spent the next several years under the control of The Master. As The Master died, Leonard, like many of his brethren, fleed eastwards, over the Rocky Mountains and into the Midwest.

Leonard spent decades wandering aimlessly through the Wasteland, his healing factor and immense musculature protecting him from harm. Of all his adventures throughout the years, Leonard remembers none of them. When his wanderings took him to the Louisiana Bayou, Leonard found that his tracking skills were woefully inadequate, and couldn't find his way out again.

Stories tell of a terrifying green-skinned behemoth with the brain of a child who wanders the Bayou, searching for nothing and sobbing pitifully. Leonard, unaware that these stories are referring to him, desperately wants to meet this person, in the hopes that he'd be able to show Leonard the way out.

Other: Leonard's ultimate goal is to start a rabbit farm. Leonard does not know what a rabbit is.

@jamacianviking, great profile! I think I'll just keep the character sheet like that. What is the screenshot of a game for your inventory? Looks like a game.

@DrBones, great profile! I wish to meet him!

It's Innawoods, a concept that was gonna be a STALKER-like RPG but it fell through so now it's just a cool character creator thing

Yes, where can I find the character thing?

Nevermind, found it. But it's not loading...

I was feeling left out from my lack of a character.

Name: Keith Wilson

Age: 24

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Appearance: (I suck with pictures.)

butch_haircut_69379.jpg
Personality: Keith is more laid back from what you'd expect out of a former raider. While he may not be one to look for a fight, he won't say no to someone who decides it's a good idea to get in his way. He will joke with people he's content with being around, but his jokes tend to be on the side of rather offensive. Occasionally has his moments of being what he calls, "Being a good guy." Though will nullify that with talk of his days as a raider, which he slightly cherishes.

Inventory:

Scoped Hunting Rifle

Carton of Cigarettes- (Finally, a use for them)

A couple stimpacks

A bottle of whiskey

Backstory: Years ago, Keith was born to scavengers in the wastes. When he was about age 2, his family was attacked by raiders. This attack killed his parents and left him to be taken in by the group on accounts that he was liked by their leader. By the time he was age 5, he started to accept that these people were his new family. He was treated as their token child and they had some odd respect in a child. When he was age six, he started to fire a rifle that was taken in a recent "trip" by the group, this rifle became the one he would use for the rest of his life.

Around age ten, he started to go out on raids with other members of his group. They each had their own job, his was to shoot from a distance as they would rush into places they wanted to steal from. This started changing him to have a lack of care to what happened to others, as he would often grow attached to other raiders in this group, only to watch them die through his scope. By the time he was sixteen, he was talked to by a man who survived the raid as they were looting the place. The man told him of what the group was and what they did, that his talents could be used by others to make the world a better place. Shortly after the mans inevitable death by his hands, he started wondering if he was right.

Two years later, his group was attacked directly by some men in heavy armors. These men destroyed everything and killed everyone he knew, but luckily he was able to escape the carnage as it unfolded before him. He started wandering around the wastes, thinking about what that man said years ago. He started to wonder if his purpose really was for this idea of a better world.

Other: May attempt to be a kind person, but will do so poorly. Is a heavy smoker.

(I am only assuming swear words are allowed.... 'cause this guy will probably say a lot. You know, with that whole former raider thing.)

You click and drag the weapon into the rifle slot. The silhouette should appear, but unfortunately it's just a generic rifle shape (or in my case, an axe)
