[SilverFlight]

Ward helped himself to a glowing flower, its shimmer was mesmerizing. Suddenly another figure snapped him out of his trance.


"Eamon!" Ward cried, reaching to clasp his friend's hand firmly. "Its good to see you. Even more so because of our task at hand, and the knowledge of your excellent skills. I--" But he was cut short by a faint scream. Then he felt it; a chill creeping into the air. Something was very wrong.


"The cottage, someone's in trouble." He looked to the members of his new party with a serious expression. "Whatever happens we must keep Elena safe. Come on!" He leapt forward, running as fast as his human legs would carry him. The clearing appeared as the last light of the sun gave in to darkness and what Ward saw made his eyes widen with fear.


Spiders. Huge ones. The forest floor crawled with them and they seemed to be converging in one place. Just then one turned around and caught sight of the party standing nearby. It let out an unholy shriek and charged them, other following in its wake.


"Oh...monkey feathers." Ward muttered and stepped protectively in front of Elena.


"Prepare yourselves friends. We're in for a tough fight indeed."


The first spider reached them and Ward grabbed it, swinging it by a leg to send it crashing into a tree, but three more took its place.


"My lady pheonix, can you light the clearing? I can't see an inch in front of me!" He growled as another creature sank its fangs into his arm. He dragged it off him and threw it away.


Looking frantically at Nyr and Rose he nodded. "We have to transform."

 

[Bea Delaine]

Elena reached around her blindly, for a stick, something sharp. The darkness wasnt enougj to hide their situation, and the piercing scream raised more questoons than answers. Hand falling on sturdy wood, she aimed the tip forward and scrunched her eyes almost shut, cringing as she thrust it through the head of one of the spiders overwhelming the defending party.


In attempts to retrieve her new found weapon, the limp body of the spider heavily dragged along with it, so Elena dropped the stick all together and searched her pockets for something, anything that could help. She found a lighter, which might work .


She pressed her foot into the head of the dead spider on her stick and removed the weapon. Then, Elena ground it against another tree. The edge of the stick roughed up. Pressed from time, she lit the end and waved it in front of Her, moving alongside her new allies, but slightly behind. It would last a moment but maybe long enough to slow them slightly, or be of help.

Although not liking the idea too much Nyr nodded as she knew they had no choice. This will be the moment of truth then... she would have preferred it to arrive later than now but it can not be helped. If she was to be exiled once more then she would not mind it knowing that she helped to protect others.


She roared as her humanoid form slowly started to turn into a gigantic avian one. Her clothes and hands vanishes, her feet transformed into clawed ones, her wings grew three times as large and finally her face turned into a beaked visage of the bird.


There stood Nyr, the Dread Raven in her full glory. Spreading her ebony wings she ascended to the sky screeching furiously at the fiends below.


" Winds of the Arcane, be at our backs! Shield us in this dark hour, the stalwart defenders of FableWood! "


With that she felt the winds intensify an enveloping her body and her allies, granting her immense movement and flying speed. She then dove directly at the hideous monsters and grabbed two if them with her massive claws, hurling them in the distance with such velocity that they have vanished from sight immediately.


" I will show you wretched fiends why the Dread Ravens are feared! " she yelled and unleashed a powerful gust of wind, scattering some of the spiders and throwing a few in mid air where she could end their miserable lives. But the battle was far from over...

Rose could see in the dark and watched them fight. She whined and looked for..." Elena! " she ran up to the human and said urgently " Please pull off the necklace, NOW! " she touched the humans hands and placed them on the cold golden circlet that rested around her neck. Held together by a thin chian in the back covered in rare gems. It was beautiful but cursed and she needed it off now! She ignored the spiders and waited for the girl...

Elena, in surprise, dropped the flaming stick. The fire licked her knee, rminding the girl to stomp it out. The turned towards Rose, she appearant dragon and nodded, taking hold of the lovely pendent and pulled.


Once removed, she searched around to Nyr, wait... a large and graceful avian in her place. Everyone.. no. These strangers were fighting. Some protecting her, a useless kid. These spiders seemed straight out of a book. How could she possibly help? Her eyes searched the darknes for a way to stop the attack, without luck.

Rose backed away she smiled as her full power flooded into her, creating a dim red glow and she slowly morphed into her true form...hands and feet turning I to claws, bright red scales piercing out of her skin, face shaping into a snout her bones cracking and moving taking on a new larger shape, then wings burst out from her back fully extended, and horns formed from her crested head, spikes grew from her back along her tail, then she opened her golden eyes now which where dragon her pupils went into slits a low rumble came from her chest... Then she pushed off from the ground using her front legs she came up on her back legs she roared as loud as she cloud to the sky. Then came crashing back down onto all fours making the ground shake. She smacked spiders away with her tail and breathed fire onto others baring her teeth fiercely killing many spiders at once.

Ward watched as Nyr transformed. A Dread Raven, he had never seen one before now. He could almost feel the power surging through the air. On his other side Rose was changing too, into a wondrous red dragoness. Now these allies he could definitely get used to. With a fierce battle cry he leapt forward again, his face lengthening, his lips hardening into a steel-grey beak. His chest expanded and his hands became savage talons. Wings erupted in a flurry of feathers and a lion tail lashed out, catching spiders and sending them flying. He cried again but this time it was an eagle's scream. The gryphon stood amongst his friends in full glory. Without hesitation he launched himself into a herd of new spiders. More were pouring from the forest. They didn't end! He swatted and snapped, felling one after another but it seemed their number only grew! Small bursts of ice and fire flecked the ground before him, it did not kill many however, his magic was just not strong enough.


"Elena! The book! Maybe it has a way to defeat these foul creatures!" he winced in pain as another spider bit him, this time on his hind leg. He kicked out angrily. That was too bites. Ward began to feel a bit dizzy, he shook it off as best he could and kept fighting. The human had to be protected at all costs.


Leia clung to the branch of a tree, she wasn't sure why she grabbed it at all, spiders could climb trees! But for some reason they didn't. They prowled around the base, hissing at her angrily. Whenever one stepped too close to the mushrooms ringing the tree it jumped back as if it had been burned. Not far off she could see bursts of fire and silhouetted against that, spiders were flying in every direction, some dashing away with their backs ablaze.


"Hey!" she called out. "Hey! I need help! Over here!"

Rose killed the spiders from all directions and heard...another human! She immediately looked to the screams and saw her she used her about to get the girl and place her on top of her scaly head. Then she said telepathically Hold on to my horns, I'll keep you safe! She killed spiders and breathed fire on them she was big so movement was limited. Then when a spider found a weak point in her scales a bite her she snarled and smashed it then others began to crawl to the weak point and bite she roared and tried to get the creatures off. To her they where tiny so it was hard to get them away she began to feel the poinsons effect by making her drowzy but she kept fighting.

 

[Tearlach the Fade]

"After all this time, this is what the dark has to throw at us?" Eamon asked himself as he watched his new 'friends' fighting. Then he focussed on his second phase, perfectly picturing it in his mind, then, in a burst of lightning and fire, he transformed into his PHASE 2.


Immediately Eamon 2 spread his wings and soared into the sky.


"I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN YOU FILTHY BEASTS, I EXPECTED MORE THAN JUST ACROMANTULAS." He roared at the spiders, then he flew down in fast pace, as soon as he hit the ground he release his lightning and fire at the same time, burning the spiders on his left and shocking the others on his right.


He he carried on doing this, burning some on his left and then cutting the others on his right with his lightning.


"HAHA...MAY THE WORD SPREAD FROM THIS NIGHT, A HUMAN HAS ARRIVED AND MAY THE DARK LIVE IN FEAR, FEAR OF HER AND FEAR OF HER GREAT PROTECTORS." Eamon knew that he was getting a little carried away, but he had fought many of the dark creatures before, but he had never fought any with as much help as he did now.


Eamon took a moment to look at his companions, a gryphon, a dread raven, a phoenix, a dragon, a human...wait two humans? And a...well whatever he was. They an odd powerful froup,but a very powerfull one who all fought for the same cause.

[Bea Delaine]

Elena took the book and attempted to read it, past the reference of sleeping beauty. Mushroom rings prevent evil. But.. could they move a ring or lure them in? It was dark too.. the possibility of finding one was slim, unless..


Elena lit the charred end of her stick with a lighter, thanking old habits she still had it. Looking around with the new found glow, she saw it. An area the spiders were avoiding.


She waved the flame around, running out and catching their attention.


"Hey! See me? Youwant the human, right?!" She shouted, surely looking like a fool. Catching some of their attention, she sprinted forward with the stick, as fast as possible to the avoided space. Something cut the back of her leg, inspiring her to pick up speed, now waving the ember covered stick at anything near her. She dove into the circle watching full charging spider burn into the barrier or cower. The cut on her leg stung and made her embarrassed. Ward bled and kept fighting with ease.


She stood up and fought with the long burning stick from within the barrier.

Now with the tempest at her beckon call Nyr tossed around the helpless creatures like toys and watched them with dark glee as they fell to their death. But all this carnage seemed to be but a distraction to her. She have seen some dark forces and have heard about many, none of which included deadly spiders. No, these creatures were merely fodder, something which they needed to pay attention to until...


A sudden realization struck her when she turned to the others.


" These monsters are not our real enemy! " she screeched as she hurled a blast of wind, knocking away a dozen of unfortunate spiders. " There must be a malevolent source which summons them. I can not sense its presence, it has concealed itself quite well. But if we find the source which causes them to swarm out we should be able to drive them back! "


She then asked the winds to protect Elena as best as it could and to escort Leia away from the hideous monsters. It was obvious that the dark force wanted to eliminate the humans so she had to do her best to protect them until the others could find the one who summoned the spiders. She could only hope that her power will be enough...

 

[Tearlach the Fade]

Eamon grimaced as one of the spiders pierced him with one of it's pincers. "Ahhhh." He howled in pain as the spider picked him up and threw him into the middle of one of the 'herd'.


Eamon felt more pain as more and more of the spiders pierced him and injected their venom in him. As he slowly felt his life beginning to drain, he cursed himself for not taking the spiders seriously. Now, if he could just escape this group, he would show them all what Eamon the Lost was capable of.

Rose made sure Leia and Elena where safe with Nyr. Then she extended her wings wide and dropped her chest to the ground, bunched up her mucules and jumped night into the air. She gave one big flap and rocketed higher she spun making all the spiders fall off her to their deaths ob the ground she hovered above the group. She breathed fire on the spiders roaring. With every wind beat...every heartbeat...the poison flowed through her deeper.

Elena watched Eamon the lost fall into a herd. His scream of pain sent shivers down her spine. He might.. he might actually die. This wasnt a game. Not even an escape from life before. The spiders seemed after her and the other girl who she had yet to meet. She left the safety zone, running as fast as she could. Avoiding Roses flames, and ignoring the spreading ache in her leg, she sent the stick through two of the giant spiders, foot on the dead ones head, and removed the stick again.


She grabbed hold of Eamon the best she could and pulled him out the the mess. The touch of the spiders sent chills up and down her spine, but she was too pressed and scared to think about their bites as she attempted to sprint back to safety with a hand on Eamons wrist.

(woops I fell asleep xD u guys are up at 3 in the morning for me!)


She shifted to her phoenix form then spread her wings as she flew up. Fire slashed at the spiders and protected the human and the male. she shifted then landed on the ground and kicked herself, it seemed stupid but a phoenix tear had healing powers. She grabbed a leaf and cried a tear on each "here take these," she said passig the leaves to Eamon and Elena "It will heal you."

The battle was dire and was not going in their favor. Nyr was fortunate enough not to be bitten by the venomous bests due to how high she flew but she saw Eamon, Ward, Rose and even Elena fighting with the poison pumping in their veins. She then remembered something that sent a shiver down her spine but she now knew what she had to do. If there was a time to use that spell this had to be it.


" I will do what must be done. For the humans... for all of us. "


With that she reached beneath her feathers with her beak and after a painful cry she pulled out an ethereal, humming ball of small energy underneat hher skin.


Her own life essence.


Putting the valuable resource between her claws she turned towards the giant moon behind her and offered it to it.


" Mother Moon! Protect us from the darkness! Let we may see your light again an another night! Let your blessed rays flow through me aiding my allies and smiting my foes! "


As she finished her prayer the essence vanished from her claws and she felt a sudden flow of energy within her. The Moon has granted her its powers and now she turned back to the battlefield, spreading her wings, bathing the entire meadow in the silver light which touched gently her allies, attempting to purify them or at least ease their pain. The spiders on the other hand whined in pain as the burning rays of the Moon touched their foul bodies, blinding them.


" Bathe in the glory of the night! " yelled Nyr with fury in her voice. She knew however that she will not be able to old back their foes for long. She felt the blessing of the Moon fading and her power ebbing as well. She hoped that the other would be able to eliminate the foul creatures soon...

 

[Aelin]

She turned back to a glorious light also on the blazing fire. She shifted and jumped into the air pouring all of her energy into burning these wretched creatures to a pulp. The flames turned blue then orange and flickered back engulfing the horrid creatures and turning them to piles of ash. She felt the familiar drowziness wash over her for using this extent of her powers. She knew she had more magic she just didn't know how to use it. She used one last blast to burn them to smoulders then plummeted to the ground landing as a phoenix but shifting human. It hurt. The fire scraped against her skin. Crawling farther with every breath. She hated using so much magic. So she laid there taking shaky breaths trying to send the exhaustion away.

 

[Tearlach the Fade]

Eamon could faintly feel someone pulling him away, and the voice that said something about taking something sounded faint and far away. But he still had enough strength to open his eyes and see the human...what's her name again? And he saw the phoenix offering him her tears, what's her name? Wait...what was his name again? His blackness was becoming too much for him, so with trembling hands he took the offered tears from 'what's her name' and drank them in one gulp.


Almost immediately he felt the pain begin to ease, he felt his wounds begin to close and felt the venom leave his body.


"Both of you, you have to move away from me, what I'm about to do might kill you if you are too close." He said to them once he had the enough strength in him, preparing for one of his most powerful attacks.

 

[Bea Delaine]

After Nyr used her abilities, Elena took up her much abused stick. She nodded at Eamon and stayed far away from him. The spiders became easier to kill for her, weakened by Nyr's ability.


Elena ran to near, taking moments to stab the weak and blinded spiders in her way. Nyr seemed.. well, Elena couldnt quite figure it out but she seemed weakened. She stood before the avian, fighting off the spiders with as much ability as a human like herself could muster.


"Nyr.. i've got you covered!" She shouted with an uneasy voice. The leaf with the Phoenix tear was rolled in her hand. Since Nyr made her cuts stop hurting, maybe Elena could help her out as well.


"T-take the leaf in my hand.. the stuff on it. should make you feel better." She said hesitantly. How on earth was she doing this? An hour or so ago, she was at the bridge.

 

[Aelin]

she got up not in the mood to be electricuted and headed over to Elena and Nyr. She cries her own tear and healed herself "Do you need help? I could cry a few more tears." She said to Elena and Nyr "Or I could shift and find a place for you guys to rest." She said her glow pushing away the darkness prowling around them.

 

[DawnAntalios]

The light of the Moon finally dimmed and Nyr could no longer maintain her flight. Completely exhausted she plummeted to the ground near Elena and Joy, barely managing to avoid crashing into them. Unable to must her strength to stay in her true form she reverted back to her human guise, that way she had enough strength to at least stay awake. This offering took a much bigger toll than she expected: she was barely able to breathe and could no longer walk.


Looking at the two who tried to offer help to her she smiled weakly then refused the tears.


" I thank both of you, but it is not something that hurt my body. I offered a piece of my very soul to the Moon Goddess... and that may or may not recuperate in time, but no medicine on the world could cure that to my knowledge. "


As she looked at their worried faces she tried to smile again but the pain did not allow it.


" I am fine. " she lied to them " Joy, please take Elena to safety - it is of utmost importance. I... I will try to aid you once I have regained a portion of my strength. "

Rose gave a roar of agony and collapsed spider immediately swarmed her. One of them had bitten her on the neck on one of her most important arteries. She had no more energy to fight them off unless she hurt everyone. Which was not an option she closed her eyes tight trying not to give in to her anger.

 

[Aelin]

She raised an eyebrow confused how Nyr in any way thought she was fine "Okay then." She looked at Elena "Would you like to walk? Or I can shift and take you somewhere to rest." She said. Strands of her hair were glowing and shimmering as she waited for a response.

 

[Bea Delaine]

Elena frowned deeply. She was not ready to leave Nyr behind. And they found another human. What use was Elena now? The new girl would probably be more use.


"Im alright, but im worried leaving Nyr here could get her killed. And i promise i can defend myself."


She sighed, deflated.


"I can walk, but lets try to move Nyr to safety. She seems light enough."


Elena gathered the limp form of the now human formed Nyr, setting her on her back. For a moment she inspected her own wounds, pleased with thelack ofblood or pain.


"Your just as important as anyone here, Nyr. I dont know you well but i dont want to lose any of you."

Nyr tried to lift her head as she looked at Elena confused. Why? Why did she risk her very own being for someone she did not even know? She was expendable, just an another mythological creature like all of them here yet Elena was human... the most valuable person out there. Yet still despite all this she helped her...


Could this be the so called ' care ' she had heard about? She always had to look out for herself, this feeling was so alien yet so good...


No, she could not risk her life for a raven such as her!


" Elena... " she tried to speak with little success. " Just leave me... I... I will be fine.... You must go, save yourself. You are... our salvation, I am but... a mere pawn in this war... "
