There’s a job. And no one but you can do it.

It's no secret that dreamshare is the newest shiniest method of espionage that the world has ever seen. Jobs only exchanged in under-the-table cash grabs, chemicals cooked up in neon lit underground labs, hospital admittances of people that have fallen all the way through to limbo.

You’re one of the select few people with a knack for walking in these half-reflections of a real world, skilled in manipulating the line between reality and imagination. You might not be the best in your chosen field but there’s no doubt that you’re the one for the job. Are you a breakout newbie with a string of successful heists trailing behind you? Or a jaded professional, a list of enemies longer than friends with a shield of secrets keeping you safe, walking around every day with invisible blades held to your neck.

The job is simple. For once it seems you are on the right side of the law, extracting a confession and evidence from a clearly guilty suspect. It should be smooth and simple, easily done on one layer, barely needing two. So why is it that you’re prepping to go all the way down to three?

GENERAL

OKAY so this is obviously set in an inception-type universe. The heist itself is that they’ve been contacted to extract a confession from this criminal who's on trial for murder. Simple, except the extractor knows that their real mission is to plant the idea that the accused did it because they’re being framed n order to protect the real murderer. The person who actually committed the crime is the heir to a large business conglomerate. It’s essential that the business fall on his shoulders, lest the next person in line be someone that can’t be control like a chess piece.

There are five roles detailed in the next tab that each player will fulfill, each important in their own way to the success of the job. It will be likely that your characters will know each other due to the small world of dreamshare espionage but its up to you to decide whether they'll be acquaintances, friends or enemies.

ROLES

(1) extractor - the sort of leader, in charge of the theft of the idea/information itself, holds the team together and is well versed in methods of extraction. They direct the plan itself, coming up with the concepts within the dream, the steps to pulling off the mission. A classic con man, has to be charismatic and able to think on their feet. (i'll be playing this role)

(2) point man - in charge of the preparation up to the mission itself, collecting information and background of the subjects. While the extractor is in charge of the direction of the plan, the point man has to figure out all the details that go into its execution. In the field, is quick on their feet to adjust and rearrange the plan as necessary

(3) architect - constructs the dreams themselves, must obviously be well versed in architecture, textiles etc. creates layouts in the dreams that will steer the target into revealing their secrets eg. through a maze where their deepest secrets are in the center, in a bank with a safe, their hometown. Works with the point man to create the perfect setting, is usually the dreamer as they construct the world of the dream.

(4) forger - can transform into anyone in dreams, although it takes a lot of work and preparation to make this realistic, involving getting the body, voice, walking and mannerisms all right. They can be used against the target as a confidant, rival etc in order to help the extractor get the information they need. Is extremely useful in contributing to the script of the dream, must be good actors.

(5) chemist - in charge of creating and administering the chemicals that allow the dreamers to share and construct dream. Needed to create custom concoctions of somnacin in order to fit the specific needs of the dream, usually has to go into dreams that require more than 1 level in order to administer the next round of sedatives, and then to stay on that level to keep it stable. (note: to the person in this role you can absolutely just make up chemicals, don’t feel too stressed about making it ‘super realistic’

Yo shorts, can we add extra detail to the CSs (backstory, etc) or would you prefer we keep it to what sections you've specified and leave the rest for slow reveal in the RP?
