while my go-to for character applications is your standard cs skeleton, i've decided to shake things up and go a different route. this was introduced to me by a fellow rpn member known as @/BELIAL.

i really liked their approach to writing out characters which is to leave out extra details and write what's really important to know. it keeps from restricting a character's personality and allows them to grow as the group progresses. because this may be an extremely new approach to crafting a character, don't hesitate to ask clarifying questions! give them allllll to me pls & thx. a skeleton will be posted to show what your application(s) should look like. please look under 'application info' for your character sheet.

— full name.
— age. 18-23 for main characters. any age for side characters works (for ex., younger sibling, grandmas, grandpas, uncles, etc.) if they're alone, don't worry about side character ages. note: everyone is responsible for their own side characters if they choose to have one. bring em in a post every now and then, mention them once, idk. you also don't have to make applications for them. side characters just add to the realism. ((:
— occupation. if applicable.
— role. are they native to inverness or of florida? are they visiting? passing through?
— faceclaim. realistic faceclaims only. no ai, no drawings, no cartoons. also, try to avoid using overused faceclaims such as known celebrities or social media influencers.

it's still encouraged that you double up, in terms of your main characters. if one or more of your characters end up dying, don't feel discouraged! you can reapply with more characters or you can just hang out until the end if you're interested in reading the outcomes of your peers.







adding on to the above, if you introduced a side character when your main character was still alive, you can absolutely apply the side as a main character so long as they were an adult.

    FULL NAME. zachary jenner. although, he prefers zack. but feel free to call him zachary if you don't mind a look of disgust.
    AGE. a freshly celebrated twenty year old.
    OCCUPATION. has been through a plethora of odd jobs from carnival worker to grocery store bagger. his most recent job is a part-time car detailer at a local auto shop.
    ROLE. an inverness, fl. native. he's lived there with his mom, trish jenner.
    FACECLAIM. a young hayden christensen.
    RELATION. son of trish jenner, aka darry jenner's sister.
    EXTRAS. has the same rose tattoo as his late uncle in remembrance of him, but it's behind his ear.

    . 。 ‟ SYNOPSIS.

    WHAT'S THEIR RELATIONSHIP TO THE TOWN OF INVERNESS? born and raised there by his mother and father. somewhere wedged between middle and lower class, their little family resides in a flipped, double-wide mobile home for the sake of seclusion. the town is a walkable distance from their residency, in which zach is thankful for, but he doesn't mind the privacy offered by the nature surrounding them. before meeting his father, however, trish lived with jezelle after darry's murder up until she was comfortable living in inverness on her own. she never returned to college, or even her home state after what had happened as she was hellbent on learning everything there is to know about the creeper. eventually, she found herself growing to love central florida enough to stay permanently, despite the string of attacks that are starting to plague the otherwise peaceful town.
    WHAT'S THEIR CURRENT OUTLOOK OF THE ATTACKS? although he won't admit to it directly, and usually settling for nothing more than a shrug when asked, zach is fearful of the unknown. the creeper was a hot topic of discussion within his household, especially on how to survive, even though attacks occurred in long gaps. but the new string of murders is leaving a foreign, unsettled feeling within the pit of his stomach: the ultimate cause for his GERD flare-ups, in fact. he doesn't want to believe that there is another threat somewhere within his town.
    ARE THEY FEARFUL OF THE CREEPER? WHAT'S THEIR WORST FEAR? despite never seeing the creeper in person, zach has seen the aftermath of coming in contact with it. he lives with a victim. his mother didn't have to be attacked or killed like his uncle to suffer through traumatic episodes having been face to face with the monster. a loaded shotgun occupies the space between her bedframe and her dresser even throughout it's hibernation: it was something zach always took sight of whenever he wished her a good night, knowing there would never be a night where it was good. her behavior worries him and only enables his fear in the creeper. there is nothing more that he's afraid of then dying at the hands of it.
    DO THEY BELIEVE THERE IS A SECOND THREAT? it's a well-known fact to locals of inverness just how gorey the creeper's trail is. the utter lack of it in the most recent string of killings, despite how morbid it may sound, is exactly why zach's level of fear is drastically smaller in comparison. he does believe there is a second threat. however, he also believes that it can be stopped and overpowered with the right hands involved.

    — PERSONALITY

    Devin is a constantly moving observer. His presence radiates a captivating serenity and his words are charged with a calming energy. He is a deep thinker, eager to understand the world around him and delve into ideas. This is a quality that can make him seem distant.

    He is deeply observant. He has the ability to spot details and subtle things that others may miss. He can notice hypocrisy and false intentions from miles away, and his blunt and disarming honesty can shock those around him. Devin is not afraid to speak his mind and he is not shy about expressing his opinions, even if it means facing adversity. His transparent and vulnerable heart draws others to him, creating an atmosphere of trust and acceptance in his social circle. However, it can also be a double-edged sword. Sometimes his words unintentionally hurt those around him, revealing uncomfortable truths that can trigger unexpected reactions. His honesty can be refreshing to some, but it can also spark controversy and trigger conflict.

    Greedy and desperate but still, so unsatisfied. The sorrowful spirit that she consumes, has her on the verge toward gluttony. The girl is rotten to the core and barely surviving; just one shade away from the pallor of jaundice. The misplaced footing may go unnoticed as her intoxication is rarely diurnal. The devilishly omnipotent thoughts of self-destruction governs her very being yet still, here she is. Outstretching her meagre life until the elastic’s pulled taut. Her plans to leave Inverness, FL. had always diminished within days- the fleeting moments she believed she could really do it, end by self-implosion. Delilah’s own resentment has always been catastrophic. Sometimes, her very being seemingly thrums with urges to abandon Inverness and lead a life of prosperity. Realistically, the current unemployment means funds are stressed and old habits hardly die.

    Attempts to resolve into rest are futile; the aid of prescription tablets and discoloured rum assists her insomnia’s relentless motive. Delilah is one to perversely relish such scornful agony; it makes her feel alive.
    *
    The Blanche family was one of the least affluent around the town, secretive and openly unhappy. They were unforthcoming, poor and rather scandalous in their ways. Their pitiful earnings were usually spent on self-indulgence; they were hardly charitable. However, such casual inconspicuousness is a luxury that cannot be taken for granted.

    Innocent blood spilled is not worth her concern. Delilah is borderline ignorant to know much detail about the attacks. Of course, she is conscious of their existence but if it doesn't concern her then it is none of her business. It is as if she was wrapped by a protective seal of cellophane, deflective and constricting. She is not someone who holds the burdens of other people's issues- she has enough of her own.

    Carter has always known that he was destined to do great things- given the chance. The rest of his family were fine with a simple life, but Carter always wanted more. Growing up he could never be satisfied by what is. There was always something else. Go big or go home was a motto he took just a little too seriously. While other kids his age were riding bikes and playing outside, Carter was holed up in his room reading or studying. More often than not, his nose would be in a book. It wasn't that he didn't know how to have fun- he just chose his studies over his friends. The only people he really interacted with were his siblings and that was because had no choice. He was the youngest and his older brothers liked to pick on him. Things didn't change much as he got older either. Of course he ended up getting into his dream school- Princeton. All the sacrifices he had made with his life were worth it..right? At least, that's what he told himself. The truth was now that he was finally here, it kind of sucked. School was stressful and he was in an unfamiliar place with no one to rely on.
    And so, he got into contact with the only two people in the world who really knew him- his brothers. His brother Eli, the eldest, was busy starting his own family and didn't really have as much time for Carter, but Alec- the middle brother- was really the only one Carter felt like he could really confide in. But Alec was also the problematic brother. He had what some would call the stereotypical "middle child" syndrome. The problem was that he didn't believe in himself, and when anyone would try to convince him otherwise- that he could do something with his life- it was always a big blow out. But now, Alec was missing. It hadn't been long, only about a week. And he'd been known to go off on a bender before. But something about this whole situation has Carter antsy. The last time he'd heard from Alec, he'd said he was staying in Inverness, Florida. Carter, with his weird curiosity, had looked into the town and seen the news articles of what had happened there 23 years ago. He was pretty skeptical about the whole thing, thinking it must be some sort of tourist trap or maybe a series of murders that had been blown out of proportion because it all happened so long ago. But despite his skepticism, something felt fishy. So now, probably against his better judgement, Carter is on a road trip to little ol' Inverness.​
