eyes.Pure white in divine form and bright silver as a human, his eyes show the tiredness of an aeons old being that has seen everything the world has to offer, yet the curious and hopeful spark of a child just waiting to discover the next wonder.
physique. In both forms, Ianus is rather elegantly built, mesomorph though not bulky. He appears to move lightly and gracefully as a feather, yet with a heaviness to the way he carries himself that seems to speak of the countless experiences he's made.
style. In his divine form, Ianus is seen wearing a red toga without a tunic underneath, no footwear and very little jewelry.
As a human, he usually wears long-sleeved shirts in different (mostly darker) shades of red, regular jeans and converse, occasionally combined with a dark green parka and gray scarf.
modifications. In his divine form, Ianus has four arms, a furless tail and digitgrade legs much like a wolf's, though without the fur.

- › personalitymisc info ‹Being the embodiment of contradiction, Ianus often is hard to see through; one moment he's cheerful and excitable as a child, the next moment he'll point out how, despite his excitement, the world is basically just a boring ball of earth with the same old history repeating itself over and over and over.
He's caring, yet never picks a side unless his own interests are involved, because there is no right and wrong, only perception. And yet he will help someone because 'he wanted to'.
To someone witnessing his contradictory and split personality, he'd probably seem like he's constantly at war with himself; truth is, though, that he just views the world from three perspectives; his own, the other side, and the neutral spectator.
Then, in most cases, he'll proceed to side with whatever benefits the greater good because 'it's just logical'.
- › personalitymisc info ‹likes.water, music (both reminds him of his children), he's a bit of a foodie, the letters m and n (because they remind him of archways), delivering prayers to the other gods (it happens very rarely, so he gets really excited about it.)
dislikes.OPEN! ENDED! STORIES! For him, watching over beginnings and ends, an open end is his personal pet peeve, and he will comment it with 'am I a joke to you?!', moralizers (moral is a subjective construct, and despite the fact that it's undoubtedly helpful in maintaining a working society, shouldn't be seen as more than what it really is.), sickles (his brother castrated his father with one and although he really likes Saturn and they get along great, they just... make him nervous.)
hobbies.bartending, cooking, Tesla coil music (because his daughter enjoys listening to it and it pisses off Jupiter.)
habits. When eating, he'll make sure to, e.g., eat the fries first, then the ribs, then drink, to keep it all in a neat order.
His main hand is his second left (which is why, in human form, his handwriting it barely decipherable; he can't use his main hand because it just isn't there).
Sometimes he'll rub his back just below his shoulder blades because it still feels weird for him to not have a second pair of arms right there.
When he's thinking hard or feeling embarrassed, he'll run his hand through his hair.
Can't sleep without a blanket.
fears.Although he wouldn't admit it, his biggest fear is the end of humanity. As a deus selectus, he was born human and raised to divinity by Saturn, whom he has come to call his brother. He's spent more time among humans than any other roman god, and loves them dearly.
At the same time, he's basically constantly worried about Saturn; with everything the god has been through, and the horrible things he's done, Ianus is afraid that one day, he'll lose his mind again and revert back to the monster he one was. Losing his brother would be horrible...
- basicsvisagepsychepastBorn in Thessaley, Greece, as the son of Apollon and a mortal woman, he was abandoned by his divine father. Not much is known about his childhood, but eventually, he came to Latium, where he met queen Camese, who later became his wife. Together, they had a son, Tiberinus.Humble Beginnings
After Camese's death, Ianus became the king and brought the land decades of peace and prosperity.
One day, Saturn, father of Jupiter, came to seek shelter in Latium, telling the king about how he had lost a war against his son and had been banished from heaven. Jupiter was still on his heels, hellbound to kill him after all.
Ianus hid him from his vengeful son and, in turn, was made a god by Saturn. They ruled Latium together, as brothers, until Tiberinus was crowned king. Tiberinus also was the one to find and save Romulus and Remus, and gave them to the wolf to be raised. Shortly after, he also saved their mother, Rhea Silvia, from being executioned, and made her his wive.
During the ages, Ianus had two more wives, namely Juturna, the goddess of springs, and Vinilia, the goddess of the winds and sea, and had Fontus and Canens with them, respectively. Both relationships didn't last very long.
As the god of doorways and passages, inter alia, he became the one to establish a connection between humans and gods before every prayer, and the guardian of heaven's gates.
SaturnSaturn, despite his more than messed up past, is one of Ianus' closest friends, a brother, really. With him still being banned from heaven save for the Summer Solstice meetings, one of Ianus' main reasons to spend most of his time on earth is to hang out with him. They bought a big duplex house together, with a shared garden, where they often meet to share wine and stories.JupiterJupiter and Ianus have a constant rivalry going on, which never escalated into a full-blown war, but often enough caused conversations to end in petty squabbles. The other gods ate used to them by now and usually must roll their eyes at their eternal bickering.
It is unclear whether there is some kind of weird friendship between them or they just flat out hate each other.TiberinusIanus' oldest son. They have a great relationship and Ianus is very proud of his accomplishments. Tiberinus also calls Saturn 'uncle' and often comes to visit the two gods.FontusIanus' second oldest. Constantly bubbling with energy, he's a very popular guest at every Summer Solstice and makes a great team with his older brother; he's quick to come up with ideas of how to make heaven and earth better places, while Tiberinus' ambitious yet very steady personality ma!es him great to bring his younger brother's plans to fruitition.CanensIanus' daughter, a muse of song and music. Being rather gentle, she often finds herself overwhelmed by her brothers' energy. She's rather reserved when it comes to Saturn, knowing what he had done in his past, and prefers not to pick a side in her father's endless rivalry with Jupiter, which often leaves him frustrated.
