It was theorized that in every decision we make, a parallel universe is created where you choose otherwise. In any and every moment of our lives, infinite possibilities are made and exist simultaneously along ours. Armed with that knowledge, many beings with extraordinary abilities seek to exploit the multiverse for their own gain, creating what we call 'errors' along the delicate fabric of time and matter. As we know, all actions have their consequences. The multiverse demands balance.

Heroes, villains, and the anti-hero of their respective universes are beckoned to a central focus in quantum space; where existence itself began: Universe 0, or 'Ultimate Universe'. Here, every possible universe is monitored and protected from those that corrupt and rock the balance of space-time by the organization dubbed 'Deus Ex Machina'. A group composed of the most capable in their universe. As a team, they travel the across the many universes, correcting the errors left behind by the irresponsible.
Deus Ex Machina (D.E.M for short) is a multiverse roleplay, meaning that characters originating from different roleplays are allowed and strongly encouraged. 'Universes' in this context stands for existing roleplays. The cast of characters will parody intervening on key points in other roleplays, seemingly deciding the fate of it's characters and the outcome of it's story. All universes visited will be from roleplays that the GMs have made in the past. It is possible for the characters to visit YOUR roleplay universe given your permission and full cooperation with GMs during the event.
Pre-existing characters submitted to the roleplay AFTER D.E.M has officially started have the opportunity to have their character's roleplay visited by the cast and brought into the roleplay in a much more streamlined manner than having your character suddenly 'exist' within the roleplay.
D.E.M will be written in an 'anime nature', with characters often coming off as very anime-like. This is both a warning and an invitation for those concerned about this topic.
The storyline dynamically changes with the choices of the cast and the impact they make during their missions in other universes. The missions themselves will challenge the characters physically, mentally, and emotionally as they manipulate history and correct errors that may result in fatal confrontations that decide the outcome of their existence.
General Rules
- Follow RPNation's rules.
- Do your best to cooperate with your fellow players.
- Prolonged inactivity with no explanation will result in you and your character being removed from the roleplay.
- To have your roleplay universe visited by the cast, you must be on Discord and available for us to contact you.
- It is not required, but strongly recommended that you join our Discord server, which was specifically made for D.E.M
- Boss and KnightAarant are the GMs of D.E.M
Character Rules
- You may control up to 2 characters per roleplay, across 3 different roleplays of yours.
- We accept characters from all genres of roleplay.
- No furry-like characters above level 1. (Refer to this link for context)
- If your character is killed by GM decision, you are allowed to make another character.
- You may reside in the discord without a character UNTIL the roleplay begins. If you do not have own a character that is accepted by the time the roleplay begins, you will be removed from the discord.
Posting Rules
- We do not accept short posts outside of conversations between characters. For context, a short post here is a single paragraph.
- Perfect English is not required to join this roleplay, but it is recommended that you keep your posts within a readable state.
- You do not have to be an amazing writer to be accepted into this roleplay.
- Do not write that your character's attack landed within the same post that they attempted one.
- Keep a good picture of the battle in your head. An attack that is made too far away is never going to land. If you confused as to where everyone is; ask a GM in discord.
- If your character is fighting another player-controlled character, be fair to your opponent.
- If you are planning to fight one on one with a character, stay online and finish it. Do not start a fight and immediately go to work, school, or otherwise AFK for a day or more.
- If a fight between two characters is prolonged due to inactivity, the GMs will be forced to kill the character that has the reasonable disadvantage so that the roleplay may move on.
- You may not conveniently give your character a new ability so that they survive a fight.
- You must list ALL of your character's abilities in their respective character sheets. Any additional abilities that they gain must be learned throughout the roleplay sensibly and approved by a GM. Failure to do so will result in a warning and possible removal from the roleplay.
