Everyone has heard of the legendary Smith Oarst Xiafust. Known to most from tales shared and sung for generations, one might say he was a God in mortal form... When it came to creating weapons anyway. Its believed he was a terrible drunk a average husband and a dirty fighter...
But his creations still to this day are considered the pinnacle of craftsmanship.
Actual heroes sent from the heavens gifted with unique powerful weapons only gods chosen can wield... Have lost when confronted with a Xiafust creation.
Twenty five "Xiafust grade" weapons are known and used in the present days. Of course many have tried to replicate or better Oarst's work. The gap is much to wide to comprehend but others have reached dangerous heights when it comes to creation.
As one would know, the grades of a weapon beyond "exquisite" goes as follows.
Legendary, weapons of great power with real effort,care and skill behind its creation.
Cursed, much like Legendary weapons except evil due to deals with demons or other unnatural techniques.
Xiafust. The best of the best.
in present days there is countless Legendary weapons aswell as cursed ones. It is said cursed weapons that be the main problem...
They grant power to whoever wields it, but at the same time it curses them. Usually with blood-lust but the variety is endless. Be it demonic, necromonic, idiotic they are dangerous to the user and those around them.
It was eighty years ago when a smart woman with a sense for business gathered the best warriors and mages she could find to form a guild that specialises in dealing with cursed items.
"Curse-slayers" during that time dealing with cursed weapons the slayers managed to acquire eight Xiafust grade weapons.
Your characters would be the newest Curse slayers to wield said weapons. While there is eight best weapons ever to choose that doesn't mean the spots are limited to eight. I've decided any amount of people can join this. Make a shopkeep who needs to be tagged when the cast is in the store...
Make a awesome recruit who dies and is replaced by a similar recruit whose awesome but different...
Make a main character whose desperate to find a Xiafust weapon to claim for themselves...
Make a victim of a cursed weapon in a episodic fashion...
This rp would focus on a group of people constantly dealing with cursed weapons and trying to live as normal people in the precious off time a curse slayer gets. The main cast being the slayers who are employed to destroy cursed weapons wherever they are reported. Usually this needs to be done in battle with a weapon which has a grade beyond exquisite. No "great" katana is doing the job here. It has to be "legendary" "cursed" or Xiafust.
That said dropping a cursed weapon in lava or the deep ocean is a pretty easy alternative if the option is available of course.
(some cursed weapons attach to a soul literally making it impossible to misplace/forget/trade/etc)
Its a world with magic and monsters, like most of my fiction magic is limited to one type per person unless using items or they have some other reason.
