I mean, if you wanted irony, your character could be a hunter that was turned into the faun. They don't need to look cute but have at least the antlers and legs/hooves of a deer.

I'm thinking of having a gentle giant kind of character being turned into the fairy. On the plus side, no more bumping his head on doors. On the negative side, cats are suddenly a lot more dangerous.
