Realistic or Modern {CLOSED} Continued SOL

Maria smiled sadly. "I'm sorry, Boston. I really shouldn't have told you that." She got up, grabbing his glass. She walked into the kitchen. "Yeah it's... Odd to say, but... I happen to get that a lot." She chuckled as the sound of pouring was heard. "As he was growing Up I've encountered many people with the same situation as you." Maria walked back into the living room, gently setting down the freshly poured milk onto the stand back by Boston. She went back to her chair.

Boston peered up to the sound of the glass being put, eyelids falling as he made a low, barely distinct hum. "It's alright. It was.. My fault for asking, after all." He smiled up to Maria, faint but he tried to cheer up the mood, and himself. He wanted something to distract him so that he would be less obvious. He glanced away on several occasions as he spoke. "I guess, he's.. Not entirely bad-–although... I would still go to say he's utterly annoying, selfish, inappropriate, b-but, when it comes to life and death, I think... He's a good guy. Even if we're pretty much rivals, or--I-I don't know, anymore honestly, I'm really, really confused with myself right at this moment.." He subconsciously grabbed the glass when he had been empty of thought, still looking where it had been. Holding the glass up to his chest as he winced. " I.. Can understand by many people hate him, although, for me.." He glanced away, eyebrows knitted down as he fell into deep thought. His eyes had been glossed over with less shine. "I.. Guess it's for an entirely different reason...." He sighed, taking a sip out of the recently harvested milk. The touch of cold of the glass felt nice combined with the nice, warm homely feeling. It.. Felt really nice. He could rinse away his worries like this all day, although, like any neglect, those worries tend to turn rabid when you've came back. ".…… I'll give secret for secret. It's only fair since you've already told me one of his.." He sighed, rubbing his face as he continued staring down. He was progressively sounding more and more dreary. "I'm.. Sure you're well aware of him by now, as him being him is quite common regardless of the eyes... It's just that, sometimes, it feels like.. I-I don't know, I just--can't ever forget things I'd rather forget of, things that bring back rather.... Highly unpleasant memories. I guess I can't really expect everyone to suddenly bow down to my pleas without even saying why they should. Sometimes, though, it.. Can be.. Really, really overbearing.. Y-y'know?" He sighed, letting go of his face and laying down his hand, looking exhausted, or was that his mood? It was hard to tell. He continued looking down with a softer stare.

Maria nodded, taking a bite out of a cookie. When she swallowed it down, she looked back to Boston. "Have you tried seeing anyone about helping with the memories? Like a specialist?" Another bite. "I've heard things like that help." She cleared her throat. "Or maybe just talking to him about it? It is always better to not leave the problem unsolved." Maria set the cookie down. J-Lo was asleep in the dog bed by the T.V. You could conclude that she had just said "fuck that" to everyone getting up, and just decided to sleep.

Boston bit his tongue, continuing to look in the direction. As he held the glass, other fingers ran gently over the cup and wrapped around as well. "Well, no, I haven't told him but I-I do tell my therapist. Sometimes. But, again, it's just.." He held onto that sentence, tensing as he disregarded it. His hands coiled the drink as his face lit up with slight irritation. "No. There's no way on planet earth that I could tell him, there's no way I could bare to tell him even vaguely. He'd ask and ask, perhaps tell everyone and even have THEM ask and ask. I couldn't bare having anyone.. Y-y'know. The wh-whole reason why my therapist found out about them is through the court, and even I'm STILL iffy about that.. I simply couldn't." He murmured, admiring the floor.

Boston considered this deeply, muscles hardening. If the glass was a mouse, he would have just strangled it. He spoke slowly. "I.. Don't really have much, I usually only work but I guess.. I... Kinda like--making coffee and other, um, non-alcohol beverages, organizing, m-maybe styling hair and outfits, and gardening..? S-sometimes, I just end up organizing too much and it ends up making me shy away from the bare thought, which causes rooms to be on hiatus to clean, and with gardening, it's.. Kinda embarrassing, plus where I live can barely hold any life, Ide is pretty much dead inside, so haha, guess you can say she's immune, as for me, I guess you could say I'm recovering. I like making recipes and studying herbology, making medicine used to be a dream job of mine, I went to college with my scholarship but, flunked right away due to.. Personal issues. I-I guess you could say, I enjoy cooking too but.. I'm not good at it, and I tend to overdue the instructions. Harim said I would be an amazing cook if I hadn't tried too hard like I do, I think he just says that to be nice.. I-I don't know, it's.. Really stupid. I really don't have enough time for any of that, anyhow. I have to work, and when I don't work I have to spend that time doing extra work in hopes for a promotion or some type of title for a better job because mine isn't even a real stand alone job, it's what was given to me out of guilt. And when I have that little time in between I spend it on my little sister or therapy.. It's not ideal, but it's better than.." Pause. "It's better." His eyes continued to shy.

Maria smiled, watching the TV as she spoke. "Maybe Ide would let you practice hair styling on her? From what you've described, it seems like she doesn't really care about... Well, anything. So maybe she might allow you?" She took a sip. "You just need to find a way to relieve stress, whether it may be art, music, dancing, whatever you like. The stress is pulling you down." She crossed her arms. "You see, when I married my husband "centuries ago," as Dan would say, he... Had cheated on me." She cleared her throat. "I tried to work things out, but with all of the stress and my kids.. It was a lot. So... then I just decided that I didn't him or a man at all." She looked down. "I released my stress into things I enjoyed, and it really helped in the end." She looked up at Boston. "Just promise me that you'll try to find an outlet?

Boston stared at her for a longing time, his expression filled with multiple, ranging emotions. Concern leaking from it in a apologetic manner. His eyelids had fallen once he had prepared himself to speak, fondling the glass in a more gentle manner. "I.." He began, soon gulping and nodding vigorously, nails digging into his skin as he tried to carry off a determined manner.. "I promise..!" He affirmed, eyebrows down and fists raised, giving a serious look. "I-I'll.. I'll try not to let you down!" He told, putting his fists into his lap. "Th-thank you, so much for caring. I haven't talked about this with someone in a wh-while.. I truly--g-greatly appreciate it!!" He struck with a tad bit of confidence. It was cute how he got carried away with things sometimes and how emotional he could truly get, sometimes he really did act like a kid. He smiled fondly, expression otherwise sad but this bled through the rest.

Maria laughed, smiling over a Boston. "Thank you, dear. I'm glad I can count on you." She stood up, picking up her plate and glass. "If you need to talk about or want anything, just let me know. She made her trail to the kitchen then came back. She walked over to Boston, gently patting him on top of the head. "I'm heading to bed. Be careful going to sleep." She was headed to the hallway until she stopped. "Oh yeah, and if you hear something around five in the morning, it's Dan. He's like a raccoon ravaging my refrigerator." Maria continued walking. "Good night."

Boston immediately followed into stammering, eyes wide. "W-wait, you're going?" He asked, tone sounding heavily disappointed and slightly saddened. He fumbled with his hands, frowning. He stared down. "Y-you're.. Going to be here tomorrow morning... R-right?" He asked, trying to sound casually mature throughout his depressed mewls. He was showing--painfully so. He really enjoyed her company, it was a highly unusual sight to see Boston sad about someone leaving.

Maria turned back to Boston. "Of course, dear. Even if I was leaving, you'd be able to catch up." She let out a chuckle. "Why? Is something wrong?" She asked, smile forming into a frown.

Boston jumped back a little, blinking a few times before following into an immense stutter, his hold on the cup growing weak. "Wh-wha-WHat?! N-n-n-noooOOO! O-of.. C-course not I," he tried reassuring her by putting out his hand. "I-I-I'm NEVER not f-fine!! I-I just, HA, I just--merely.." He began staring away to the corner, poking his two index fingers together. "I-I just merely enjoyed.. Y-your company.. Is all.... In a completely, um, f-formal way, of course!!!" He corrected with a fragile and shaking stuck up finger that slowly went down. His face was beat red with embarrassment, fondling the other hand. "U-um.." His head lowered, bangs covering part of his face. "S-sorry, I'm.. Probably being annoying, a-aren't I..?"

"You're not annoying, Boston. You company was delightful to me also." Maria said, looking over at him. "Trust me, you're not as annoying as Dan." She said jokingly. "We can spend some more time together tomorrow if you want..?" She offered quietly.

Boston stared at her for a while, face slowly lighting up as a smile formed, feeling himself lighten. "O-of course!!!" He nearly shouted, grinning happily as he also tried hiding it. "I-I'd l-love to!!" He gave out with another wave of enthusiasm, looking extremely excited. "Th-thank you so very m-much!!! I'll be sure to rehearse for tomorrow and, and!! I-I won't disappoint you! Ever!!!" He pointed at her with determination. He was really happy and on the verge of tears. It was even more rare to see him like this. His mood faltered a little and he looked way. "I-if I do, then.. I'll try harder!!"

Maria smiled even wider. "Thank you. I know you wouldn't disappoint anyone, but I appreciate your reassurance." She used the wall for light support as she walked back to her bedroom. "Get some rest. I don't want you to be too tired for tomorrow."

Boston nodded, smile softening. He leaned forward a little, holding onto his other hand as he also began to mother her. "I'll.. Be eager to make your acquaintance! A-a fair, good night's ending rest wish for your wonderous self!!" He made sure add, pout showing.

~timeskip~

The grandfather clock resting in the corner of the room chimed, the time reading 8:30. The smell of bacon and eggs filled the room, along with the sound of birds chirping and the chatter of people. Maria and Dan were seen standing next to each other in the kitchen. They both were wearing different things that the night before, Maria wearing a purple shirt with capris and Dan wearing the usual work red shirt and khakis. Dan was munching on a piece of bacon as Maria was waiting for the toast to finish. They were talking about something, and from distinct words here and there, it was most likely about if an ant or a caterpillar would win in a fight. That was.. Strange.

Boston's phone began ringing from the jean pocket that had earlier just been simply placed next to him. Rather.. Loudly. The sound echoed and Boston quietly groaned underneath the covers. He searched for the phone and threw it across the room before nuzzling back into the pillow peacefully. The phone had stopped ringing for a few seconds, and, as if it was alive, it suddenly continued in spite of Boston. "Sh.. Shut that damn thing off Jassy..." He mumbled off, eyebrow twitching downwards. He has been half asleep.

The two in the kitchen peered out to where the noise was coming from. Maria frowned. "Can you shut that off for him, please?" She asked. Dan glanced at the phone, the sighed, walking into the living room. He went over and picked uo the phone, putting it on silent. He walked over to Boston, lazily tossing it onto his chest. Dan headed back into the kitchen with the glare of Maria. "Don't wake him up, you butt!" She called out to him, lightly tapping him on the forehead with her spatula. Dan rolled his eyes. "Ughhhh, you're so mean." Dan groaned. Maria flipped over a piece of bacon. "Be quiet, you." She said, smiling. They returned back to their conversation, this time depating over rhinos and hippos.

Boston grunted against the pillow, searching for the phone with his eyes closed and upon finding it, he put it on the ground. He lifted himself up from the bed, rubbing his eye as he went to search for the person he expected to see. "Ugh, you didn't need to to throw it at m..." He stopped as his eyes observed what had been in front of him. He fell silent, hand slowly moving down from the socket as he stared at the couch. The thing he least expected to see. Oh. Yeah. That was just a.. Boston sighed, staring across the room drearily with the phone still in hand, hearing the distant conversation. He didn't bother stretching or yawning. He lazily took himself off of the couch, looking over to the grandfather clock to fully digest its number. 8:30.. He scoffed at himself under his breath. He'd prefer to have woken up at 6:00 AM, that had been his fault. He rubbed his other arm, sliding the phone into his pocket and glancing over to the direction of the kitchen. "Maria? Dan?" He tried testing out a step forward, when it had been slightly success driven he had given up a sigh, the slight ache was current but it had been ignorable, though he could see the slight issue with walking for long amounts of time. This had been good enough. Boston opened his eye a little, looking to the direction of the kitchen without bothering to move his head or continue walking. He still had his hand on the phone that had been in his pocket, noting that'd he'd have to check to see who'd been calling. ".. Did you two sleep fair?" He asked.

Maria turned to Boston smiling. "Yes. Very much so." She turned back to the pan. Dan stood there silent, not answering. He was staring at his phone with narrowed eyebrows, chewing on another piece of bacon. He then looked up at Maria after swallowing the piece. The glare turned into somewhere of anger. It seemed to be to someone else though. ¿Está viniendo SERIAMENTE aquí más adelante?" He asked. Maria looked to the side, slowly nodded. Dan's glare became stronger. Maria was about to say something, until looking over at Boston. She looked back to Dan. "Quería hablar contigo sobre esto más tarde." She stated simply. Dan rolled his eyes, glare still there. "I have to go. I'll be back later." He then headed to the door and left without another word. Maria watched him go sadly, then turned to Boston. "I apologize about... That." She turned to the pan. "Breakfast?" She asked, a faint, fake smile on her face.

Boston turned to look over to Maria before cursoring them over to the place he last saw Dan. Clearly confused. They remained for a little while until sighing, giving off an equally as fake smile. Only, he had been worse at keeping it up. "Ah.. Um..." He scratched the back of his head, smile fading. "I'm fine, but thank you immensely for the offer. I'm.." His thoughts lingered on the scent of the food. "As delicious as it smells, I.. Had my fair share of calories yesterday." He looked back over to the door, sliding both of his hands in his pockets. His voice had become softer. His mind ran over the two subjects of last night by instinct, suspicion and curiousity growing to rather annoying depths. ".. Do... Do you know perhaps what that was about? A-ah, apologies of course if that is not something you'd like to--um.." He shuttered, biting his tongue

Maria smiled, setting the pan back down. "Oh it's... More family drama." She shook her head lightly. "Dan's... Brother is coming by after you guys leave. Him and Dan don't necessarily enjoy each other's company." She ate a piece of bacon herself. She looked back to Boston. "How are you feeling?" Maria asked, switching subjects.

Boston blinked a few times, feeling the tightened, worried feeling in his chest become undone as relief fell over. He wondered about Dan's brother. If he was on bad terms with Dan, he had wondered if him and his brother would get along like Boston and Maria had did. He felt himself nod, further sinking into thought. That would be nice, wouldn't it, Boston..? N-no, fuck, you aren't supposed to beFRIEND people, you barely have enough time and it'll only get in the way of you, god!! He exhaled and inhaled deeply, a bit of agitation showing. He.. Wouldn't befriend, he just wanted to know more. That's all. He caught himself at the question and began considering if he should start asking about him, but deciding to hold it before he gave the answer. "I'm fine." He tried to say with a wavering grin. Wow, he's obvious. She hasn't noticed, h-hasn't she? He went to check, but ended up advert in general his eyes when anxiousness took over, deciding not knowing would be the best. Boston rubbed the arm held behind his back, trying to go with the professional flow. "So, another, dreaded question, sorry about all th-these.. You know, if you decide that you don't want me to talk, you could tell he anytime, I won't mind after all. It's necessary for professional wellbeing, it'd only be.. Unnecessary for if I did feel down. B-but, anyways, not the point.." He coughed into his hand, he began nervously rocking with his feet. "Wh.. What's his brother like?" Wow. That came out a lot worse than expected. Okay, fuck, just uh--fix your tie and act profess--FUCK THERE IS NO TIE!! Oh my god, that just made him look weirder, didn't it?! Shit, shit, she might think he's a creep now! Okay, just.. P-pretend you meant to.... I-I don't fucking know, adjust your.. Hair or something, and--the sound of something falling echoed lightly. Boston's expression went to one of doom, looking over to Maria with a growing smile, giving a nervous nod as he quickly kicked whatever it was behind his foot, chuckling casually.

Maria chuckled. "Don't worry. It's better to be curious than to bottle it up." She began making herself a plate. "He's... Interesting. But so are all of his siblings. This brother in particular is kind of normal. He gets into his own fights every now and then, but is definitely better than his other siblings." She was putting eggs onto her plate. "But... He does have the tendency to steal. A lot. Which is one of the many, many reasons why Dan nor I trusts him." She looked back up at Boston. "I know it's probably not the answer you were looking for, but that's.. That." She shrugged.

Boston stared up at her quickly, rather, too quickly. Boston blinked about two times, before putting on a fake, even more obvious and out there grin, rounding his shoulder and looking away like he just got hit with something. "O-oh? That sounds.. Terrible, is he in jail or..?" He looked back at Maria, smile faltering in a confused manner. "U-um, and correct me if I'm wrong.. Y-you say he's 'better' and more 'normal' out of his other siblings.. Why is that..?" He said with a tad bit more emphasis on the question mark. He had risen up an slightly shakingindex finger. He had felt a bit of morbid curiousity seeping through his earlier question, looking more forward to that answer than the other. His suspicions and genuine curiousity had shown.
