Ah, drop-off day. It was the best day for Camp Ember, as it meant their campers—both new and returning—were to be delivered to the camp entrance. Compared to other Summer Camps, Camp Ember was different. It allowed the rare, but appreciated, amalgamation of humans, supernatural beings, and everything in-between. Not only that, but it held its strict policy of no electronic devices allowed, much to their younger campers’ dismay. Aside from its campers, Camp Ember was located in a specific forest that not many have heard of or even traveled to, due to its secluded area. In fact, anyone who was going to Camp Ember had to be brought to the Boarding Station, then brought up via the gondola to the camp entrance. Afterwards, the real fun begins. The Camp Counselor, a tall and ominous shadow figure who oddly goes by the name of ‘Mr. G’, with a cheerful tone that opposes its strange appearance, announces the cabins everyone will be staying in. It was a bit too late for breakfast, yet too early for lunch, so for the meantime the campers would be allowed to settle into their cabins until lunch was ready to be served. In the meantime, larger pets such as horses were brought to the stables.
Since it was up in the mountains, the air was quite chilly though bearable since it was Summertime. After being given a quick run-down of the rules of the camp, Mr. G sent the campers to their assigned cabins to settle in. Their Camp Counselor would then return to their office, as shadowy figures much like Mr. G, though more humanly in appearance, busied themselves within the cafeteria kitchen to prepare for the lunch that was to be served later on. For the meantime… The campers were free to meet their cabin members, and mingle outside of their cabins if they so chose to.
This would surely be an interesting year for Camp Ember.
This wasn’t Aria’s first year going to Camp Ember, and it was evident in how she acted the entire trip there. She wasn’t taking photos, nor complaining, nor was she overly excited; Instead, she was leaning against the wall of the gondola, smiling as she looked over the faces of the campers—Old and new. Camp Ember was one of her most fondest memories, and at this point all that went through her mind was who she would share a cabin with? Which cabin would she be in this time? The previous year, she shared a cabin with her ‘camp buddy’, Macaroon. Once they had arrived, she was more than eager to wave to the familiar Camp Counselor. Then, off to their cabins she would go, excited upon finding out she would be in a cabin with Macaroon again. Though oddly enough, she was yet to see much of the girl yet, maybe she was late? Swallowing lightly, she grasped her bag and started off towards the Flora Cabin.
Aria has always wanted to be part of the ‘bunny cabin’, especially because of her own little bunny, who was safe in the little carrier she held securely in her other hand. “Don’t worry, Apollo… I think you’ll enjoy this cabin much more, you can be our little mascot too.” The girl chuckled softly, walking up the steps to the cabin before entering. She enjoyed the welcoming feeling the pink and green shades gave off, before kneeling to open up the carrier and setting the little bunny off to run free, and into one of the bedrooms.
“That one, it is!” She exclaimed, following the rabbit into the bedroom and setting her bags down in a corner of the room. She never had a preference for top or bottom bunk, instead preferring to let her bunkmate choose. The girl then set off into the living room, sitting down on the couch as the bunny hopped into her lap, and the two would proceed to wait for their cabin mates…
Alistair held his tall posture as per usual, wearing his more formal clothing despite the camping setting that he knew would be there. Despite it being his second year coming here, he had to put on the formalities—as demanded by his mother. The white-haired male was straight-faced throughout the gondola ride, and he was even during the welcoming. A soft sigh left him, nodding lightly in satisfaction at the name of the Cabin he would be staying in: The Aura Cabin. It sounded mystical, and mysterious, to match their insignia. He liked it. Compared to the cabin he was placed in last year, the Water cabin, he shuddered and wove his way through the crowds before everyone broke away into separate directions to head to their designated cabins, or to mingle with their friends. Rolling his shoulders back, he entered the cabin and noticed no one was there yet—With a loud sigh of relief, he immediately rushed into a room and changed into something far more comfortable than the suit he wore.
He would emerge from the room in a white tunic and tight brown pants, with black riding boots that reached up to his knees. An old friend of him had told him that he looked like a pirate with this attire, though he didn’t think much of it. The male kept his hair running loose, proud of its silkiness as he left to sit along the cabin porch with a book in hand. Alistair didn’t expect much from this year, though some part of him had hope that this would be better than the last. He only enjoyed a few of the presences he was with, and rarely ever bonded with too many people at once. Hell, his cabin the previous year was led by an incredibly hot-headed man who he refused to serve under.
He didn’t expect utmost respect from others, though he also refused to serve underneath anyone, that was just how Alistair was. His gaze would flicker to the sky, watching the few white clouds float across the blue sheet above them. It was quite serene, and almost put him fully at ease. Camp Ember was almost like his new home, and he hoped this year it would stay that way…
