Fargus had apparently underestimated the Gamorreans. With their antiquated and decadent traditions, he was sure his forces would of wiped them out in one fell swoop but fate had apparently decreed otherwise. His Empire, however, answered to a much higher power than fate, the unmoved mover that was hate, and it would not be denied.

Galmoria would fall.

Yeojiu was in chaos. The screams of it's citizens threatening to disturb the heavens as bodies steadily filled the streets. A businessman wailed, blood rushing from his extremities before collapsing. All around him, others fell to the same fate. More victim's to the sweetly, smouldering gaze of Green/Gold. Like lasers, their looks cut straight through their fans as they wrapped up the Farewell Concert with their final song.

Every Idol had played their part to perfection, thanks to months of mentoring and practice, waving their fans a final farewell as they boarded the Party Boat in turn. Elaborately staged at the wharf, each star had performed their segment of the show to their adoring fans. Lucille in Chains blowing away the audience with their Rock, Dre Gon melting hearts with a crocodile smile and fire lyrics, Hunter Stone dropping bombs on the mike and fresh off her Gamorrean gig, Lady Vivienne Watterbury who delivered a haunting and heartfelt opener to proceedings.

In turn, each performed and boarding the Party Boat in a slew of special effects and artistic wizardry, often to be called back by the cheering crowd. From her position backstage Goo's grin was all encompassing.

Soon the whole world will become part of the greatest show on Earth! And the SONG would finally be banished from existence....

CSRA

The black tar pit opened its maw to release something truly noxious. A skeletal hand jutted from the goo, followed by a yellowed arm bone. Eventually a skeletal figure rose from the tar, mouth open in a perpetual cackle. The whine of a hypersonic jet filled the chambers causing the scientists' coats to flap with the breeze. It too arose from the tar pit, while the massive skeleton straddled it. A halo adorned its grinning skull, casting a blinding gold light over the scientists and shamans.

They stood slack-jawed, in awe at what they finally created. The hypersonic jet was no longer a machine. It was the steed for a great rider, a monstrosity that would be unleased up on the enemies of the state.

Dolor the Faded Sun had joined the fray.

The Flame Burns Strong
Unlike those who insult our morality and make baseless claims. We intend to back our word with action. "I dub this colony of Gwentown that we are been working on the Eastern Colony of Her Majesty the Queen, or, for simplicity, we may refer to it as Queens town. This new colony of the ours will protect our allies and shore up our naval defenses. The Sunset Sea will have its northeastern passage secured. We will soon be unassailable. Our island stronghold will be immune to invasion and our people, and our allies. Will be safe, perpetually, until the darkness falls upon us all. Now that we have ensured the Hardwires safety we must look to the southern passages and ensure our security there. But first, we must stick to our new interventionist morals. The Empire of Hate will engage with us and we will secure peace in the region. I have been tasked thusly and so we shall achieve that with which we must." Said the admiral as the ships established a new port for the Empire.

New Avalon
Well! The meeting with New Yong went quite well. There's likely a new trade route in their future, more eyes on their kingdom in a good light, and plenty of practice for the changelings in New Yong's incredible blend of cultures and races. Perhaps New Avalon could benefit from such diversity... Jacob did have some ideas about accepting people who don't feel safe in their current homes, as long as they follow the law here. She'll see to it.

Board-Meeting-Room.jpg

Meera tapped her long, manicured fingers against the dark table, the rhythmic thumps almost seeming to echo in the large chamber as she struggled against the headache that had been fighting on the edge of her mind. Her dark azure eyes slowly moving between the two old, wizen men that kept bickering over the 'right path ahead'. Oh, how she hated everyone in this room. From the quiet, 'please don't notice me', Tabatha Crane to the old 'Why won't you just die already, your wife is getting impatient' Jarred Oakley. None of them had any vision, they were relics from a bygone era or someone who merely lucked into the position by being the only one not murdered for it. To make it worse, the CEO hadn't even bothered to attend the meeting, his chair at the end ominously empty as if this wasn't even worth his time. How could it not be? The Empire of Hate had attacked the Galmorian Empire. They could use this chance to wipe out the Empire's army, or, allow the Galmorian's to fall and sweep in to claim the ashes for their own.. The only debate was on which, well, and crushing the occasional errant voice that wanted to 'help the Galmorian Empire like they helped us', as if this was some sort of charity or if the Empire helped them out of their goodness of their hearts. Truly, Meera did not understand how some of these 'people' managed to get seats on the board.

"And I say, again, we should wait," Oakley repeated, his pale skin so thin that Meera was just waiting for it to 'split' right down one of the seams, but somehow, just like his heart, it keep on going.

"B-But, if we go now, we can switch the dynamic around.." the soft spoken Yvariss said as she waved her hand in the air to forward the same files she had forwarded a dozen times today..

"Yes, yes, but we need to think of the big picture.." Crane said not even bothering to look at the files that were sent to her again.

Meera struggled to contain a sigh as she rested her chin against her hand, she had so many plans tonight that would need to be canceled. Pointless. It was all so very pointless as she had no doubt the CEO already had a plan in action and just hadn't sent them the memo, but if she left the table, the others would see it as a sign of weakness and jump on her like some rabid dog hungry for scraps. As Oakley descended into another mind-numbing speech, Meera rubbed her temples.

"Hi stars!" Andromeda said with a wide smile as she moved her camera up to face her, having paused the VR Zombie Shooter that she had, moments ago, been very involved with even as her chat had been exploding about 'stream snipers', "I just wanted to take this time to talk to you all about the Galmorian Empire.. The Empire of Hate, yeah, those guys, have attacked them, and just like how our great city was under fire, so is theirs.. And I'm sure we will be going to help them soon, but I'm going to ask one of our lovely mods to send a link in the chat for donations.."

Moments later, a link appeared in the chat and was quicky pinned, "I know its been tight for everyone, but Stars, instead of sending anything to me, how about we send it there! We can make a difference, together."

BoN Act 3: Modern Age

War continues to rage far and wide as the battling gets ever more fierce. The world in its current age has not yet seen the ferocity of this kind of fighting of modern warfare and it is brutal.

Not only does the warfare continue between Fafrium and Amonicus and Greater Titania and Fafrium, but now it is strongly fighting in the Northern Reaches between The Empire of Hate and the Galmorean Empire.

And the fighting in the South East between the Ragnar Republic and the Cult of Excess has been heating up as well with both sides firmly embittered in their blood feud of death and destruction.

It seems that the world itself is destined to be embroiled in the deepest darkest pits of war. Would the fighting end anytime soon?

Who could tell…….

But in the meanwhile, something lurks within the deepest depths of the waters.

ALL SETTLEMENTS THAT ARE NEXT TO AN OCEAN TILE HAVE HAD A NOTICEABLE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE GO MISSING!

Turn 9, Month 10, Winter, Year 2300

Rangnar Republic

1682086864786.png

The Fighting continues to rage far and wide as the forces of the Cult of Excess seek to hurt their attackers to the North. Even with these strikes, it is only a matter of time before they can bring their pain and suffering to their age old enemy.

In the meanwhile, it seemed that the capital continues to grow while more troops are trained every day far and wide. And new policies come into affect.

New Policy▮ The Judges - Lone men worth one hundred
(Replacing settlement policy).
● Positive: At the end of every combat (not round,
end of a full battle), roll a D10 for each surviving

Ragnar non-character unit with a kill. If any one
dice is a 10 gain one Judge (hero). Increase the
maximum hero cap to 8 (becomes 3 + capital
level).
● Negative: Combat heroes cannot be gained by
any other means (does not include civilian heroes)
and cannot have any non-Judge heroes. Only one
per combat may be gained. Cannot recruit
mercenaries and hero rolls on the exploration
table must be increased or decreased by 1. Do not
include units firing long range for rolls. Acquired
items which are heroes must be sold or traded.

World Tree
1682086864858.png

A new settlement is constructed for further homes of another Elven clan. It is their goal for each of the various clans to have their own place that they can call home. That each and every one of these elves can facilitate their culture and become more than the sum of their parts.

Soon enough, they would be more and they didn’t need any other races to do that. They would stand strong on their own as they had done in ages past. It will be their present and their future.

They grow and protect their own. And now with the full might of their military clan, those that have sworn to protect their great Tree, they could become MORE.

The Eternal Legion

1682086864877.png

Hellfire reigned down from the mercenary encampment on the Capital City of Amonicus. It would seem that their foe whom they had been paid good money to eliminate was nearing its completion of the task. However with most of the enemy military eliminated, it would seem that their long ranged artillery was having difficulty striking the Heroic targets that remained, only succeeding in lightly injuring their Strange Goblin-like warrior, though it only looked like a Goblin in the barest of metrics.

The same issue that most of the Amonicus people seemed to have.

Followers of Hel’Copin

1682086864914.png

The S.S. Davisii was to be the hotbed for all future engineering endeavors. It was reformatted into having multiple manufacturing Bays for further developments. There was much rejoicing at this as giving one of their homes a singular function would greatly increase efficiency as to their tasks at hand.

In the meanwhile, the large Volcano on the island sinks beneath the waves. Another portion of the island joins the other that was engulfed for this purpose by their God.

Dreams seem to point to this greater purpose to sink the ENTIRE island and bring its denizens to the DEEP.

6th Legion

Base Camp has finally been improved. Now at a much greater level for living and growing their numbers, it is only a matter of time before they expand their reach throughout the rest of the continent. They only have to worry how the growing war across the waters will affect them as Greater Titania has sent their forces to smash through the Fafrium Empire Lines.

Legion of The World Tree

1682086865066.png
New plans were drawn up for more impressive hardware to help defend their homeland against their growing number of enemies. Especially with the world at war on all fronts, they needed to be safe. And these new plans would allow that.

The Heron Class Strategic Bomber would help rule the skies, the Turtle Trop Transport would help ferry their troops around at high speeds and the Dagger Class Tank Destroyer would help them take on enemy Heavy Armor with their own. It was the perfect trifecta to fill the gaps in their army.

Empire of Hate
1682086865079.png

The war continued to rage overseas as the Empire of Hate fought to eliminate the Galmorean Empire. To them,it was an aging husk. One that not only clung to undeserving life, but also one that helped their other enemy, the major corporation, live. It took them in as part of itself and so that, among many other reasons, it had to die.

The Espionage on The Galmorean was a success. 10 Resources were plundered from their coffers by the embedded spies. The people on the homefront rejoiced. Especially as their concentrated efforts have already almost brought down the delicious defenders of a crumbling Empire.

New Yong

1682086865111.png

The Capital absolutely had to grow. It was an inevitability. Especially in this day and age. They needed the space for more concerts, more merchandise, more people. And so, they did just that. They grew once more past their boundaries to better and stronger heights.

But for these new heights, they needed more control over everything and that is where the MC would come in. They would lord over everything and bring that greater level of focus to it all. As was always intended.

And with the World tour beginning, it was important to have that new Private Plane up and running to help send the talent all around to different places and cities.

The Consecrated Socialist Republic of Arrana
1682086865145.png

The CRSA continues to modernize their military further, cementing themselves as having one of the most advanced militaries within the realm. It was only a matter of time before they would bring those advanced armies to bear. But the question is, on whom?

They sit back as other major powers throw themselves at each other while they wait. But will they come in and sweep away the remainders into ash? Time will tell as they sit not idly by in their homelands, tending to their living planes.

The Sunset Kingdom

1682086865176.png

A new city is constructed for the ever growing and expanding Empire that is the Sunset Kingdom. Soon enough, they will grow far and wide to all corners of the world. Each and every person on the planet will speak the words of their people on their lips. They will have supremacy at all costs, no matter what the other nations might think.

They do not sit idly by while the conflicts rage as they move their fleet into position to help their newest ally, The Fafrium Empire. But is this to help a new ally of the ETO? Or merely a ploy to take advantage of an age-old enemy’s weakness in their darkest hour?

New Avalon

1682086865205.png

New Avalon shows their kindness as they build a series of refugee centers for those who have been affected by the various wars that are currently on going. It begins to flock many that have already been harmed by the growing conflict. There are those from Fafrium, Greater Titania, Amonicus nearby. And apparently even some that have been disrupted from The Galmorian Empire and some lost souls from Cyberlink Solutions.

The occasional fights ring out from having opposite sides of conflicts all together, but nothing big and nothing that they can’t handle.

The Order of Lepolia
1682086865261.png

A full on effort has been engaged in order to upgrade the dual cities in preparation for an eventual influx of new warriors and soldiers. The IU has been standing by in the current conflict, even as it counterpart, the ETO has begun to move forces into position and prep for some level of engagement.

Would the Dream of The Order of Lepolia’s International Union bear fruit as an alliance of nations that accomplish great things? Or will it crumble and burn through inaction while the ETO takes their much wanted mantle?

Cyberlink Solutions

1682086865324.png

The Attack by the Empire of Hate on their new Mother State of the Galmorian Empire was upsetting to many. But this was a corporation and not a charity. Sure, it had worked out in their favor being taken in, but was it in their favor now to assist?

They would take a wait and see approach, even as the fighting was drawn into its seconds month.

Instead, the Executive Asset Management Team was set to be upgraded shortly, with plans in motion. While the Gaalvax Police Platoon was put into full motion for all GPD units in preparation.

LOG OF: MARKEP, VENIR
POSITION: HEAD DIPLOMAT ABOARD THE S.S. DAVISII
DATE: 300 DAYS SINCE THE SINKING OF THE S.S. DAVISII

LOG START...

Ship cooler.png

Venir could feel Heitris’ presence over his shoulder. The elf had spent the latter half of the night poking and prodding him until the pain rooted deep in his chest finally abated and he was able to get some rest. At first light he had made his way down to his beloved greenhouse and has been counting down the time next to a small stone fountain. An hour ago, he watched a livestream of the S.S. Siereensis’ launch, and the live feed of its voyage was left playing on his P.D.A. sat on the bench next to him. As he sat, feeling the sunlight slowly start to stream in from the surface far above, he took in a deep breath before breaking the stillness.

“Thank you again. For getting those birds to move, I mean. I would truly hate to think what state this place would be in right now if they remained,” Venir turns to look over his shoulder, eyes crinkling in a way that hid the pain and agony he had been in just a few hours prior.

Heitris gives a noncommittal hum as he rounded the bench to join the old orc, moving the abandoned P.D.A. and setting it on his lap. As Venir’s gaze drifts over the greenery, Heitris’ eyes remain glued to the visual of his ship making the trek through the ocean. After a few minutes he pipes up, voice uncharacteristically unsteady, “If memory serves, you told me it was an emergency at the time.”

“Hm? Oh, yes, I suppose I did. I suppose I did,” Venir breaks his gaze away from his plants to take in Heitris seated next to him. The man’s worn exhaustion over this past year like a burden that he alone was meant to carry, but Venir knows that torturous weight all too well. “If you don’t mind me asking, Mr. Heitris, what brings you to my greenhouse so early in the morning? Surly your assistants are celebrating the successful launch?”

Heitris’ gaze remains fixed on the image of his ship as he slowly responds, “It’s an odd thing Venir, there appear to be a few rumors that I require your clarification on.”

Ah. Right. “I endeavor to help in whatever means that I can. Please, ask away.”

Heitris finally looks up from the live feed, his clear eye locking on Venir’s face to gauge his reaction, “I was previously not made aware of, nor has any of my equipment picked up, on an algae bloom near each of our ships. I would like to ask, very carefully, what is the actual reason why all outside hatches are to remain shut for the foreseeable future?”

Venir takes his time in crafting a response, breaking away from Heitris’ demanding expression to take in the tranquil space around them. After much thought he grants an answer, “A dozen people have gone missing over the past few weeks. Eight from the Davisii, and two in turn each from the Bessonowi and Ferrieri. Four of them are individuals who have very firmly decided not to pursue the transformation, but otherwise have no connection to each other. That is, other than leaving from the ship alone and not returning to the line of sight of the cameras. There’s already so few of us here, it’s worth the caution.”

Venir chances a glance back to find Heitris’ face unreadable, but catches the way his shoulders go rigid with tension, “I trust that it’s being looked into? If it’s the Empire of Hate once again, we cannot afford to sit idly by.”

“Of course. Miss Whelan is on the case and will be meeting with Queen Amygdala at her majesty’s earliest availability. The most recent meeting of the International Union has proven that this may be a wider spread problem than we initially thought. Hence the admittedly drastic response. We don’t want anyone to panic after all, wouldn’t do us much good at any rate,” Venir trails off, leaning back and trying to look at ease. Truth be told, he nearly sent Anna and the Scouts into a full blown panic when the first disappearance was noted. The man still had a young child onboard, so his absence gave the impression that it was unplanned. This prompted a thorough search of the area surrounding the Davisii which yielded… Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

“I see,” was all Heitris had to offer on the matter. Venir knew the man would be fuming, raging that they hadn’t dropped everything to scour every inch of this planet until they were found, no matter the cost. Granted, being left out of the loop would not improve his mood either. But he hadn’t attended any of their regular meetings in the past month, and had been practically dodging the rest of the inner circle. Last night was the first time he’d seen the man in three weeks.

“Do you think you can come up with something to keep everyone safe in the meantime?” It’s a question, but Venir already knows the answer. Despite his medical record pointing to the contrary, Heitris has a heart for his fellow Followers. As dangerous as that may be.

“I’ll see what can be done. I can’t make any promises unless we receive further information,” Heitris’ gaze returns to the image of his ship, no doubt already mentally working away at this new problem.

Venir hates to break his concentration, but, “I believe you said rumors? Plural?”

The screen goes blank as Heitris sighs through his teeth, pinching the bridge of his nose. A clear sign he’s expecting to dislike the rest of this conversation. “Why are you pursuing the transformation that Agua offers?”

Good, so Anna was able to break the news to him after all. Granted, he was expecting to have this conversation several weeks ago. Venir, for his part, puts on a show of being deep in thought for a few moments, before carefully starting with, “Do you recall that plant I handed off to you several months back? The one you couldn’t save?”

Eyes narrowed, Heitris responds like a man setting foot in a minefield, “Not particularly, what does that have to do with anything?”

“You said it was a waste of resources to try working on it, with it at the end of its natural lifespan. It’s had me thinking,” Venir takes a breath before he’s interrupted.

“No.”

A deep sigh, and then, “To what end do I continue on, Mr. Heitris?”

“Venir, no.”

“I have read the reports, same as you. Either my health will drastically improve, and I can at last live without this pain… or I’ll have the happiest days of my life,” Venir offers a small shrug, but truth be told he’s been debating this crossroads since he first set eyes on Whelan’s new appearance, one that had been missing the metal spike all of the inner circle wore. All by choice, except for Venir.

Heitris has the gall to rise from the bench and raise his voice, frustration apparent on his face and in his posture, “In which case they’d be very few days indeed! Venir I said no, I will not allow this! The fact that Anna is supporting you in this decision is absurd, not to mention irresponsible!”

“The entire circle is in agreement. This is the path that Hel’copin has laid for us. The path that he has laid out for me. My visions are clear at last, old friend, this risk is mine to take. And happier shall I be for it,” Venir’s voice is even and measured in comparison, gruff as it may sound. Hesitantly, he reaches out and places his metal hand on Heitris’ shoulder, “Please.”

For a long moment Heitris remained frozen in his wrath, and Venir began to fear that he’d shake him off and storm out. Yet, at last he looks away and throws himself back onto the bench with a great deal of muttering under his breath. Picking up the fallen data pad, Heitris hands it back to Venir as his grumbling trails off.

“I will be free of my burden at last, does that not bring you the slightest amount of peace?” Overhead, the sprinklers kick on and send a rain-like mist drifting down.

Heitris turns to face him as the mist first touches his skin, “Scars are not burdens for all of us, Venir.”

In an instant Venir is hit with the memory of the first time he laid eyes on Folmar Heitris, next to the docks in the New Veritas rain. The clean faced elf had been demanding to see the creature from his dreams, and would go on to adamantly deny it existing in the flesh. Or rather, he denied it only until he was saved from interrogation by the hands of the Scorched.

“No. I suppose not.”

When the sprinklers make no sign of stopping, Venir rises gingerly and offers his hand down to Heitris. “Shall we remain here to get soaked in whatever chemicals you put in this water, or shall you join Miss Whelan and I in watching Lord Qavor display his expertise?”

An excuse dies halfway from his mouth as Venir’s words catch up with him, “Expertise?”

“Table tennis,” Venir smiles despite himself.

Heitris rises on his own, straightening his coat, “There is much I must attend to at the moment.”

“I agree, for one this meeting is quite important, and as such you shall be in attendance,” Venir’s smile persists as he takes in his greenhouse once more before turning for the door, Heitris on his heels.

Heitris’ tone is unamused, but Venir can tell that he’s slowing winning him over, “How is table tennis important?”

With a tap the door opens into the airlock, and Venir spares a grinning glance back to his disgruntled companion, “It builds group morale.”

With a sigh Heitris concedes, “Fine. Lead the way and I shall follow,” as the door shuts back behind them, ending the log.

Meat for the Beast: Hel’copin manifests themself in ways that are strange, and still unknown even to the cult that worships them. The Followers of Hel’copin may sacrifice resources to the eldritch beast in exchange for their protection. (When activated roll a 1d10, on a 1 or 2 the effect acts in the reverse as a debuff.)

Every turn the Followers of Hel’Copin must spend Resources every turn as a sacrifice to their shark-like god. At the cost of these resources they may ask Hel'copin to manifest the following effects:

(10) Resources, Aura of Faith: Around the settlement the sacrifice took place in, this settlement rebuffs any non-followers from entering, but a group may still force their way past the aura. (Settlement becomes immune to espionage for 3 turns.)

(20) Resources, Impassable Fog: select a sea tile. It becomes shrouded in a dense, almost palpable fog that seems to restrict one’s movement. It costs double movement to move through the affected tile. This can be manifested on multiple tiles per time used.

(30) Resources, Sea Brought Blight: Even the creatures of the sea are not safe from Hel’copin’s wrath, one hex within x hexes of the settlement the sacrifice took place in is afflicted with a surge of toxic water, hindering its ability to generate resources.

(60) Resources, Wrath of the Sea: One hex within x hexes of the settlement the sacrifice took place in is afflicted with terrible storms. All units within that hex are attacked by Hel’copin. Additionally, this power may reach a land hex that is one to two hexes inland, as Hel’copin sends a tsunami to batter those places.

(80) Resources, March From the Sea: Hel’copin causes the water to raise and rock to crumble, as one hex on the coast becomes converted to ocean. This cannot effect a hex with a settlement on it, but it can effect hexes with units on them.

Heart of the Machine: In anticipation of their full embracement of the sea, there are some followers who fear that they will be wholly unable to act should the need arise to strike out against those on land. The research division has presented a solution: Drones! Vehicles constructed by the Followers retain their amphibious keyword, but are unable to operate more than 4 hexes away from their cities (or allied cities). A unit with the Drone Controller keyword may count as a settlement for this purpose. In addition, vehicles constructed by the Followers of Hel'copin are now immune to any effects that target a creature's mind or emotions.

As Foretold (Actions Current, fix else later.)
[Dexrus] - [Post Theme] -[Done, may add more fluff later.]

The streets opened, unfurled as the invaders perished. As the brave goblins ran down the remaining forces in their cars, Amno unlocked the Heaven Consulate. Citizens moved through the streets as they returned to their homes. The streets damaged, but the structures mostly intact. Dexrus held a calm, a serene silence. Over the past two months of fighting, the sounds of shells and gunfire filled the streets. Sounds of the grounded ones dying, their bodies, their equipment... Silenced and cleaned. Their bodies emitting a rainbow glow as New Creation gave them absolution from the ilk of the old. Free from the horrors, the pain, the suffering for which they seemed doomed to endure. Doomed to be dominated by that reality. No. No longer. Freedom will grace them, and they shall be whole once more. For this world takes, it dims, it breaks from all, it dares to tame each and all. Many become tamed, having their flames, their minds, their souls alienated from themselves. Unrecognizable. One day, some will see what they have become, and wish for those days to return, to become themselves again. Most beyond the reach of conventional methods. Sad it is. Sick, aging, compromising; these are but few of the ilk for which the grounded ones suffer through. And as Amno stepped into the consulate, the walls fluttered with cherry blossoms. Spreading as a wildfire, Dexrus clothed itself in blossoms. Jellyfish float from the ground to the sky, as little lights. Each a life lost. A pity. A tragedy.

If only Fafrium had listened to Amno's warnings. But that is the price of hatred is it not? To lose what you love?
---
Amno waved his hand, letting the consulate transform into a celestial scene. His body alone in the planetary background. Waters of the consulate still laid underneath his feet. A breeze of dimensional energies flood the room as various systems returned to life after their inactivity. A broadcast, a camera, audio system...

"Hello citizens of our world. Many of you have heard of the recent events concerning the conflict with Fafrium. As of recent, Fafrium's and the Eternal Legion's forces have been defeated and removed from the city. In the coming days, a joint task force with the Elves of World Tree will be sent out to eliminate the Eternal Legion and curb any additional Fafrium aggression. The Legion's barbaric ways only end lives for profit. And such things are beneath us."

"I am saddened by the loss of life. Was it necessary? No, hardly so. I hope that the ongoing conflict may be contained with Fafrium and Titania. But, unless Fafrium sends more troops, our involvement in this conflict has concluded. I hope that it may end soon. But, I expect it not. In these times of conflict, it is not up to leaders to end them. Often, it comes down to the people. Will they allow their sons, their daughters, their sisters, their brothers to be sacrificed? It comes down to the deal to be made. What are they fighting for? Is it worth the cost? Questions that need to be answered. But, I will leave that to the people of Fafrium to consider. I will not think for them, for they have the right to think for themselves."

"We will resume normal diplomatic appointments next month as we clear the dust from the streets. I appreciate your attention."

"For peace and love."

    1. Repeal Trade Federation Policy.
    2. Construct Structure: Clouds of Bridged Reality Expansion Module (Same structure has before, just another one.)

  • Current Stat Bonus: (+1/+5)

The Clouds of Bridged Reality: An inverted spire attached to an exposed part of the Upside Down that sports multiple bridges leading outside of Dexrus. Civilians and other Konomi may come and deposit materials of this world to be converted into usable resources for Konomi use. Its reverberations slowly add additional energy into the surrounding environment allowing sustainability minded gathering to slowly add resources over time.

Ability: +5 Resources for each civilian manned the Bridge of Reality (Just the building, not the settlement)
    --
Manned by 2 Oracles of Dust, 1 Mimic Object.

    -----

Prophetic Prism: An aerial construction of three equilateral triangles where air units dock and recharge their dimensional energies. The prism hangs in the air seemingly supported by nothing. Though, that is hardly the case. The prism removes the upkeep of air units stationed at the settlement built upon with a limit of 5.

Ability: Only reduces Espionage in the city it is located, not all cities by -1
    --
Manned By 1 Oracle of Dust.

    ----

The Laboratory at the End of Creation: At the End of Creation, isolation testing and development of new technologies can be done without contamination from Old Creation and the many dimensions. If the Konomi were to survive, they would need to keep the pace of technological development they have been experiencing. A portal to the end with specialized dimensional anchors to equipment to be used as normal with vat tubes of the End to test designs and mixtures. Unlocks the ability to perform research. Pay resources at checkpoints called project. Once full cost is paid. Project is complete.

Ability: Laboratory’s small bonus ability will be a +10 flat resource generated a turn to its project (So it will slowly research itself if left alone).

    ----

Curtain of Absolution: A large curtain where materials from the Clouds of Bridged Reality are then processed in this specialized facility to improve yield. Materials pass through and undergo additional reactions and conversions. A structure that improves resource income.

Ability: Generates 1 resource on its own.
    --
    Manned by 3 Mimic Objects

    ----

Fruitful Flower: A large lotus like structure where multitudes of dimensions converge. Matter and energies from across creation are brought here to forge and create equipment for the Konomi's needs. A structure that crafts new items on a 10 on a 1d10. Items may not be used until the next turn.

    ---
The Kainsayz- Unz Support Center was a gate that allows travel between two different realms, allowing upkeep to be deferred. 5 Land Units stationed in that city would have the upkeep removed during that time.

    ---
Defense Matrix Uplink: A series of ethereal sensors and energy instruments supported in an extension of the Prophetic Prism with Unz computational support. Orange streaks would descend from the sky and connect with garrison forces while periodically generating flashbang munitions to launch down onto the surface to distract and disorient attacking forces. Its presence in the sky makes discerning aircraft and other aerial movements difficult.
    1. "Protection of Dust": The defense matrix connects to garrisoned units, generating dimensional fields and rifts to protect them.
      1. This structure has a number of shield hitpoints that are consumed before garrisoned units take damage. The total is equal to twice the settlement level. Each turn, one shield hitpoint is regained, and the structure starts with the maximum hitpoints it may have when built. The owner may spend 60 resources to refill it immediately, even while besieged (if applicable).

The Ragnar Republic
Raining Fire
War
The Bunker
The forces of the Cult made their way across the pock marked battlefield, craters abound from the initial onslaught of the Earthshakers miles away. At their forefront was a rampaging beast, nay, demon...it's body was lithe and curved, a twisted version of humanity in a giant form. Flanked by equally twisted beings, the Cult were a far cry from how they looked from the early days of their war with Ragnar.

In front of the Ragnar forces stood two of the Judges, the most feared fighters of the nations military. Numbering eight, they each excelled at a single skill, for Judge Rutger it was single combat while Eisenhorn's nickname of The Leper needed little explanation.

"Are you ready for some fun?" Rutger said grinning beneath his ornate helm.

A heavily breathing voice, scarred by chemical weapons long ago came from Eisenhorn in response.

"Of course..."

The Leper unslung a large gun from his shoulder, looking like an ornate multi barreled grenade launcher. He began to pull the trigger and launched multiple rounds towards the approaching horde. Within moments a thick haze began to cover the battlefield and the effects of Eisenhorn's most potent toxin began to take hold. Cultist began to attack cultist, bringing their quick advance to a crawl. Rutger laughed audibly as he watched the enemy shooting and hacking at their own while the Ragnar watched from a distance.

The laughing was interrupted by the familiar sound of incoming Earthshaker shells. It was less than a second later as the Cult's lines were set fire by the igniting artillery. Many were reduced to ash by the barrage, unable to stand against the intense heat that cause the battlefield to turn into a giant fireball. Even the Ragnar forces could feel the extreme heat from their distance away.

Still, any celebrations remained on hold as the massive demon emerged from the flames, barely a singed hair on its body. It's twisted face gave way to a smile that struck fear into the Ragnar lines...the battle was far from over.

The Eternal Legion

A time Far in the past

The sound of clashing blades echoed within the large Taur-Ahe's ears, blood flowing heavily from his side and one eye blinded. With a defiant roar he charged at his enemy once more and attempted to strike them with a sluggish stab of his spear, the blow knocked aside with contemptuous ease as the human stepped deep within his guard.

"Today your story ends Warchief, rest with the honor and pride that you deserve to keep," the human's voice was soft and gentle, seeming to lull the Taur even as her blade was stabbed deep into his chest. "You will be remembered by myself and even those who come long after you have passed, for your Legion has truly become Eternal."

The Taur stared deep into her eyes and, finding no deceit or hate within them, relaxed, sliding off her blade and falling to his knees with his head bowed. As the human walked away, memories flashed through his head, images of his friends, his allies, his brother in all but name, and even the woman who had claimed his heart, even if she had no clue she had won it long ago. He had no idea how long he stayed there, head bowed and life blood pumping out of his chest, but eventually he heard a voice, the voice, the one which he dreamed of often.

"Callarhan! Callarhan! Stay with me!" Her frozen hands touched his face, drawing him to look up at last and take in her visage once more. Her frozen features had stayed the same as they had been all those years ago when he had found her deep in the wilderness, an eternal beauty that had lasted for decades already and would likely last for decades more. "No, no, no, this is bad! Daxos! Virin! One of you get over here quickly, he needs healing now!"

"Don't bother Norma, I'm already dead no matter what they do," a mirthless chuckle tore itself out of Callarhan's throat, the taste of blood accompanying it. "I've lost far too much blood for this to not be a fatal wound, especially since it feels as if she pierced my heart."
"Don't say that! Don't you dare say that Callarhan! You've got to survive this!" Icicles began to drop from her eyes, her tears freezing the instant they formed. "You're all that's left of my family!"

"I can't stay forever Norma, I'm old for a warrior after all. We both knew I wouldn't be able to keep up with all these young soldiers for much longer," A coughing fit covered his fist in blood and his vision began to grow faint. "Take my spear, and my armor. Use them and continue to fight for me, lead this legion as I have. No, better than I ever could."

"No! I refuse, I refuse to let you -" Norma's voice was cut off as she was pulled into a deep, searing, kiss. One that tasted of blood and regret, of a future that would never be, and of the deep love of a dying man.

"Take them Norma, let them protect you, and never forget me," As he spoke his final words the last of his life left him, the body of Former Warchief Callarhan Storm, First Leader of the Eternal Legion, fell to the ground for the final time.

Magistrata - Mage City.jpg

Emergency Report
College of Artifice

I am issuing an emergency report to all Colleges. Our Artificers have finished initial analysis of the metal located by the Skyfleet patrols and our ground forces as we continue to observe the coastal region. Admittedly I had considered the fragments to belong to one of the imperialist powers out west considering their policies and territorial declarations. Any nation that ready to incorporate others should have an active military. The major concern came when the metal had alloy properties similar to our own, yet different.

Coghaven alloys shouldn't exist beyond our own holdings. This is not one we have made and I find little aetheric traces in the metal scrap that would indicate our own. Someone had alloyed this material through enhanced methods, but nothing that is being used or even tested at this time within the College of Artifice. We will be commencing more indepth analysis as event proceed. Admittedly almost all of our resources are going towards the final expansion push for Magistrata. The city will reach the limits of our ability to sustain movement and geological stability. We are at the very cusp of our magical theory in this department.

My advisement is to search for more pieces of this rogue metal. Advance the great city northwards for the moment and sweep the coast further. More samples can help us isolate the metallurgic properites which could be vital in developing methods to search out and track this materail. Advisement of our allies and the IU is also a consideration at this time as we need to head this off. They might also find more pieces of material we can tap into and study. They might even find things we to not thanks to entirely different metallurgy techniques and philosophies.

Praetor, I highly recommend once was have the resources and time available, we commit some of them to this. I understand the importance of Project Astronomicon as the world spirals into potentially global war, but we must find the source of this metal. Are there other survivors of Coghaven? If so, why have they taken people from the shores of these lands? What is the purpose? Why haven't they revealed themselves? So many questions that can only be answered if we invest the time.

The thunder of a .50 caliber machine gun rumbled through the air as acolytes crawled through blistering hot sand. Many of them are dehydrated, and many more are on the verge of collapse. The instructor smirked at the pitiful forms, writhing in the dust, remembering back to his time as an acolyte. He yelled over the intercom "You shrews make me sick! You think the enemy will be this nice? You think your blisters are bad now? Wait till you're in the shit for real. Keep moving!" Lazir, a human acolyte, looked to his dragonborn squadmates with envy. The hot sand was pleasurable to them, instead of an oppressive force. His arms were bubbling and cooking on the sand. Bullets whizzed by his his head like ferocious bees. Were they really using live rounds? Lazir couldn't tell, he could barely think straight. Every element of this test was designed to break the acolytes. This was their final challenge before becoming Consecrators. Lazir thought back to his childhood- a simpler time. Him and his friends would play soldier with one another. All of them wanted to be the Consecrators, clad in armor forged from fallen planes and armed to the teeth.
The machine gun fire roared overhead and finally broke a young man. He stood up with a bleary look in his eyes. His body was torn to shreds by machine gun fire. The instructor didn't stop, why would he? Casualties are part of war.

Fargus stood in front of a large ornate freestanding floor mirror, his hirsute but otherwise naked body covered solely by a pair of blue briefs. Various outfits, ranging from a diamond encrusted suit to a blue starburst jumpsuit to a shaggy tribal vest, lay strewn about his personal quarters, which looked like a garish cross between a tribal hut and a cheap brothel.

With the war against the rival empire all but won, Fargus was already planning a big bash to celebrate the occasion. He knew the Gamorreans were fond of such things and Fargus wanted to make their transition from metropole to state as easy as possible. And what better way to alleviate all the concerns of the lords and ladies of the former empire than to assure them all personally of his honest and noble intentions.

But who should have the honour of accompanying him on such a momentous occasion? Fargus stroked his hairy chin. He instantly thought of his sister, for the Empire's victories were as much hers as their were his. Then again, Adrienne didn't always make the best first impression and her temperament left much to be desired. Fargus recalled her meeting with the representatives of the SONG. If someone said one wrong thing to Adrienne, the party could just as easily descend into a bloodbath. His mind conjured up images of blood and guts splattered everywhere, cutlery sticking out of people, bodies hanging from chandeliers, a head floating in the punchbowl and his sister laughing manically in the centre of it all.

Maybe she was not the best choice...

Fargus grabbed a light blue long sleeved shirt from his leopard print bed and slipped it on. The bedding made him next think of Dr. O'Hara, a voluptuous blonde with the physique of an Olympian athlete from her long forays into the jungle. She was an expert in animal behaviour and mutations and kept two leopards as pets as well as subjects for her research. As one of the five key individuals that aided him in his initial rise to power, Dr. O'Hara was spared from the same level of mental domination that most of his subjects received, that coupled with the fact that she spent most of her time in the field and therefore away from his broadcasts, meant that she was probably the only woman in the Empire of Hate that could rebuff his advances (and often did, vehemently). Besides, last he heard, the good doctor was on an expedition to some savage, lost land in the southern hemisphere, making it both pointless and impossible to contact her.

Fargus reached over and plucked a cape with a large collar off a hook on the wall and fastened it around his neck using its golden clasp. As he looked at himself in the mirror, his cloak's red colour suddenly brought to mind the ideal candidate. Ms. Matthers! Fargus struck himself in the forehead with his palm. Oh, how could he have forgotten about her? A near perfect feminine specimen, guaranteed to laugh at all of his jokes and do exactly as she was told. With her on his arm, he would be the envy of everyone there. This was going to an occassion to truly remember. Now, with his date decided, all had to do was finally decide on an outfit...

BoN Act 3: Modern Age

The War seemed to be nearing its conclusion, even as the fighting seemed to reach its highest peak as not only was it a collision of The Fafrium Empire aligned with The Eternal Legion, but Amonicus was being joined by the forces of The World Tree.

That very push into the fighting threatened to throw the entire planet into the throws of a world war as the The World Tree was a member of the International Union, moving in its own interests without even consulting the other members of the IU, even while The Fafrium Empire stood as a new member of the ETO before the fighting out.

The citizens of the planet wait with baited breath as the ETO seems to be taking the reigns of control, showing the IU as weak as ineffectual.

Even with the Empire of Hate nearing its completion of its own war against the Galmorian Empire, the ETO seem to be readying their own advances on that age old enemy if they do not retreat from the field.

The New Year Rings In with what should be a turning point.

These next few months prove ready to show which of the two major blocks, either the ETO or the IU will be supreme and which one will be relegated to a failure in the history books.

Turn 10, Month 11, Winter, Year 2301

Followers of Hel’Copin

1683335664280.png

The S.S. Sieneesis joins the ranks of its other brethren ships, sunk in the bottom of the ocean, but with true purpose. Their people grow, their lands expand. And now they are continuing to sink an entire lesser continent in their waters as clearly proclaimed by their GOD as it has shown time and time again such success in their statement.

The issue of the missing citizens from the previous month still bothers many among the people. And there seems to be something ANGRY in the waters. As though something BIG is waiting for them far deeper than any of their forces have been.

Something LURKS…..

World Tree
1683335664348.png

The fighting at Amonicus had raged on for the month. IN the end, these are the forces that remained of all sides.

Legion:
Eliza
X2 Gen Use
X3 Howitzer

Fafrium:
Galloway

Amonicus:
Nomicus The Risen
Go’Bliin- 1 HP left
Yuridian Fighters
2 Faceless Men
The Holy Ghost

The World Tree:
X4 Exemplars

The Demon that they had been informed about. It was not easy to find. Excavators had dug for the entire month before they managed to dig down far enough to uncover its location. A singular “temple” which was the only way to describe it was found. It was covered in strange runes that when inspected dripped Red Blood. Any that came near heard even stranger voices clawing at their minds.

Rangnar Republic
1683335664380.png

The Fighting between Ragnar and the Cult of Excess raged on as a danger to all of that continent. It was clear from the start that the fighting would rage on until only one side would remain. As the deep seated rage lingered from decades earlier.

They believe that when all is said and done, Ragnar will be able to take their place as part of those that help police the world from all the injustices that have been allowed to happen while they were living underground.

6th Legion

1683335664400.png

It takes an entire month, but the Geclicko people manage to discover another vault from the ancient times. Though at first it seems that the lock has been melted shut, it doesn’t take too much for them to pry open the entrance.

Inside, they find a barely operational vault. Many life pods inside had failed, but about half (250 Geclickos) had managed to survive in stasis. The only downside is that much of the technology buried with them had been rendered inoperable in the process. They have a choice. Free all the Geclickos from the Vault and swell their ranks or Divert Power and Resources to the technology instead and unlock a powerful new unit.

The Eternal Legion

1683335664419.png

The battle continued to rage, even as others enter the battle with no rhyme or reason. Here is all that remain:

Legion:
Eliza
X2 Gen Use
X3 Howitzer

Fafrium:
Galloway

Amonicus:
Nomicus The Risen
Go’Bliin- 1 HP left
Yuridian Fighters
2 Faceless Men
The Holy Ghost

The World Tree:
X4 Exemplars

The numbers of The Eternal Legion continue to grow and grow. ANd with the showing that they have been putting on in aiding The Fafrium Empire has swelled their war chest and has shown the world what they are capable of. That they were THE premier mercenary company and they would go above and beyond the line of duty to get the mission completed.

Magistrati
1683335664436.png

The Capital of the Magistrati swells and grows, showing its magnificence, even as it seems to reach never before limits that seemed even further than its founders could have imagined. Even as the IU has begun to show its impotence, The Magistrati continue to benefit from the alliance and its people continue to gain vast knowledge and all important data to complete every day tasks and beyond.

The only thing that truly troubles the people are the many, many disappearances from nations that have settlements near the open waters. It reeks of something MOST fowl.

The Consecrated Socialist Republic of Arrana
1683335664472.png

Their army swells with new recruits, filling their bases with the ever present sound of training of their consecrators. At this point, one could say that they have one of the largest armies on the entire planet and continue to grow at an expansive rate. With the ever present danger of rash neighbors, they need to be able to defend themselves and retaliate against such threats.

The people continued to enlist with the growing dangers of Amonicus and their strange and alien ways. It wasn’t just that they were different. It was that they were different and not understanding of the way others truly were.

The plane managed to do reconnaissance, showing that the elves had dug up some sort of strange obsidian looking temple that must contain the DEMON. Just flying overhead had odd piercing voices enter the pilot’s mind, only truly contracted by their plane’s voice.

Who knew how one could resist it on the ground…..

The Autonomous Collective of Melka

1683335664490.png

A new template was brought up ito design. One that would allow them greater views of The Ocean. Especially with some sort of danger that was present there. What with snatching up people left and right from all over the world.

Name: Ocean Exploratory Body
The sea. Ever dark, mysterious, and full of surprises. Not a good combination for an aspiring power that dwells near one. Julius has thus pulled these creatures from the aether: vaguely humanoid when allowed to freely roam under the waves, though its full figure is massive and spread over many miles, so seen its form is difficult. The OEB's appear to be primarily made of thin strands with a cobweb-like texture, easily broken by a practiced hand. Unable to substantially affect anything they come across, their one boon is that they are incredibly good at coming across things, especially those that do not want to be found. With a direct link to those within the DARK, all that the OEB sees and finds is relayed to their handlers, who work in large shifts to make sure nothing is missed.

The Office of Adversarial Identification gives a hefty penalty to all spycraft in their cities. All enemy spies get a -2 to their spy rolls due to the new interference and alertness that had not been there before.

Another Library of Correspondence was added to improve their people even more. The greater ingenuity of their people would continue to fight back against things that HID beneath the WAVES. It would not remain hidden for long with their scientists on the case.

Empire of Hate
1683335664503.png

The war continued to rage and it seemed that it was nearing its hopefully inevitable conclusion…

One towards unification with The Empire of Hate. With the Galmorean Empire a part of their nation, it would only be a short while until the CLS would fall and then, perhaps the CSRA even. The possibilities were endless, after all. Their people were “happy” as could be. They were all filled with the JOY of HATE and would long for others to join them in their HATRED.

The Battle Results:

1 Queensguard with 2 HP remaining

"We must move all artillery fire towards Dexrus. Our allies are under great pressure and the addition of the elves only worsens things. Our forces have reduced the cult to only the demonic beast and I have full faith that our remaining forces will make quick work of it."

The quick brief from Field Marshal Heinrich Vetter was a simple decision. While the approaching demon was of concern, their allies were at far greater risk.

"You're our Field Marshal so I trust your judgement fully," replied the Archon. "What are the next steps with regards to the World Tree?"

Leaning forward from his seat and onto the table, Chancellor Bernard Hacker sighed and rubbed at his eyes.

"We made it clear to the elves that their actions were an act of war against the ETO but they refused to budge on allowing Fafrium to claim the revenge they deserve. As such, once Amnonicus is dealt with we will then need to turn our attention to the World Tree."

The Archon turned to the Chancellor with a look of confusion.

"The fact they inserted themself into this situation was baffling to begin with, but this is on another level of idiocy."

The Chancellor nodded in agreement before responding.

"We even offered them a way out to ensure that things do not escalate further, but they would rather risk full scale war than allow the instigators of this war to be punished as they should. Myself and Heinrich are in discussion with our ETO allies to discuss next steps but the current feeling is that we don't expect the World Tree to accept responsibility for their actions which in turn means the ETO as a body will likely enact the defensive alliance protocol."

The Field Marshal turned to the Archon, wanting to share his input.

"As far as I am concerned, the World Tree challenged the ETO when they intervened in this conflict. They tried to call our bluff but it has now massively backfired. We must ensure we stick to the letter of our defensive pacts because the second we don't bring our forces to bear then other nations will see us as weak."

The Archon sat silently for a moment, considering the situation carefully before speaking.

"I think it would be most prudent to firstly ensure the Cult of Excess and Amnonicus are dealt with. Once that is done, we can turn our attention to the World Tree. They will not get away freely from their error."

General Mojo held his head as far away as possible from the receiver of his field telephone, doing his utmost to avoid any permanent hearing loss from Fargus' furious screams on the other end. The fearsome Afro-Asian man had already lost sight in one eye and didn't want to lose the use of one ear as well.

"You lead one of the most powerful armies on the planet so explain to me why the Galmorion capital is not within my clutches by now?" Fargus yelled, angrily berating the general for his perceived incompetence. "You assured me that the city would fall within a month and yet here we are three months later and these pompous narcissists still remain standing. We currently outnumber their forces four to one! It should be a frickin' sure thing! Remember, I pay you a vast salary commensurate with what I believed was your capability but I certainly will have to address that now. And, because of your continued ineptitude, you've got the Sunset Kingdom, who are parading around like they are the defenders of peace or something, on my brightly coloured ass to boot!"

General Mojo tried to do his best to explain. "Mr. President, I can assure you we are doing all we can but the enemy has entrenched themselves and are proving more troublesome then we anticipated..."

"I don't want your excuses! I want results! Or else you and me will take a little trip down to the science labs so we can get the neurosurgeons there to isolate the incompetence in your brain and cut it out! Do I make myself clear, Mojo!?"

There was an audible gulp from the general. "Yes, Mr. President. Crystal clear."

LOG OF: HEITRIS, FOMLAR
POSITION: HEAD TECHNICIAN AND RESEARCHER ABOARD THE S.S. SIEREENSIS
DATE: 314 DAYS SINCE THE SINKING OF THE S.S. DAVISII

LOG START...

10000

THE FOLLOWING LOG IS TRANSCRIBED DIRECTLY FROM F. HEITRIS. NO VISUAL DETAILS HAVE BEEN RECORDED.

Venir is sick.

There’s really nothing else to be said on that matter. He was in the final batch of people seeking to undergo the transformation, and as such it is finished now. What is done is done.

I’ve hardly slept since.

In those brief moments that I do seek rest, Hel’copin has been quick to show me his displeasure, my failures. This log is for my purposes only, to seek a pattern in these visions. They are as follows:

There are lights past the surface of the water,
Gentle, somehow, but it’s impossible to judge the distance this far down.
Always had to have the newest model, these eyes cut through the dark,
But still can’t see what’s up there, miles above.
Some part of my mind clicks and whirls to life,
Coordinates, temperature, crushing depth,
Too far down, the water far too hot.

It’s so familiar, barely any thought as I begin the process of clawing my way up,
No lungs to betray me, no gills to switch over to,
Just the sluggish pace of water crawling over this skin with every movement.
I watch the seconds tick by, minutes slipping through my fingers,
Every meter gained in this stillness is agony.

The current shifts, a deafening roar as the temperature spikes,
Warnings and alarms start to blare as I spot him just above,
Name unknown, unimportant, but sinking towards me,
My assistant.
As his feet fall near I reach out and push him up,
Strength in these false bones he starts to float as my position plummets.
Maybe he will be spared.

Takes my concentration to suppress the alarms,
Some tight sensation in my throat that I haven’t felt since the room,
Returning my focus despite the growing nausea, a new body drifts down.
Familiar, yet name unknown, it doesn’t matter,
I reach out and push them upwards towards the light,
A faint fluttering of movement as they ascend,
And I drop like a stone.

How many times do I do this?
Each one the temperature increasing until warnings become active damage,
Limbs start to stutter and lock,
Some distant part of my brain,
The part the does not believe in gods beneath the waves,
Screams, thrashes, pain that it has never known before.

One more drifts down,
A name I know, a face as familiar as my own, old fool.
He reaches back towards me, I shout, push against him,
But I am held fast as Venir Markep speaks to me,
“They are going to need you now,”
And he melts in my hands, in my arms.
A screaming, still, mess of metal and flesh,
as something stirs beneath my feet.

Immobile now, I try to scream, to plea,
As I sink ever further down to meet him.
It hurts, it hurts and I can’t get away.
I can see the familiar outline of him just at the bottom edge of my vision,
Just as I accept that I will be swallowed whole.

Advanced Research Station: Building off of the work of the research division, this facility takes the initial blueprint and works to rapidly test and improve all aspects of the design. Once a turn as a free action, a Tier 1 template may be upgraded to a Tier 3 template for the cost it would take to manufacture one of the completed Tier 3 units. The Tier 2 template is not gained when this occurs.

Auto Constructor: A marvel of modern robotics, once per turn when a paid action is used to upgrade this settlement, the settlement receives two upgrade actions. Only one of these buildings may be constructed at a given time due to the monitoring process being somewhat intense.

Surveillance Facility: The newest (as of the time of it's construction) pet project of the R&D team. This facility closely monitors newly installed motion detectors placed outside each ship. Whenever something is sensed, the facility sends a signal to rapidly deploy surveillance drones to investigate.

Let our Bloody Colours Wave!

"It is with a most heavy heart that I address you today" Began the queen as she stood in front of a microphone on her Balcony facing the newly completed Empire Square "I speak to you today no in my capacity as your Queen, but as both your Commander in chief and as someone concerned for the future of our world. Direct conflict between the ETO and leading members of the so called IU appears more likely with each passing day. We are already pledging forces and risking the lives of our people to protect democracy and freedom in the west. The old kingdoms look to us for guidance and protection against threats alien to us both and hope that we can provide peace between the kingdoms of old. Rivals of ours are seeking our guiding hand. That dark matter is not the one with which I am here to talk about this day, though its relevance is acute." She took another breath as she drew in the gathered crowds, many of the reporter's used the moment to refocus their cameras.

"This peacekeeping effort in the west is to avoid war with the IU, but efforts in the east to cease the war between that Hateful empire and the old kingdom of Galmoria have broken down. It is my most displeasing task today to inform you that we are indeed in a state of war. We as a people voted for a government that promoted global peace and would be willing to back these efforts with all necessary force. These global policies of interventionism and international policing have brought peace to many corners of our world, prosperity to us and our allies, not to mention our work ending generations of conflict amongst the Hard Wires. This is the other side of the coin. The risk we took when we looked to the horizon and demanded that the peace and liberty that we are able to enjoy must be shared. Peace will be attained but we must steel ourselves for the cost. Our brothers and sisters might fall in this action, but to end this threat, this menace to global peace and waster of resources needed for the dying of the light, it is a cost nobly given."

She made a small motion as many camera's zoomed out to capture more of the balcony as the Queens Daughter strode to her mothers side. "My daughter, Princess Evelyn, is returned from her work bringing prosperity to the south. I asked her here to talk to you so that you can know I am not asking any mothers or fathers to do that which I would not." She stepped back and made a motion to the princess

The princess took up position and camera's began to zoom in on her as she began to continue "I have talked with the Queen and we agreed that it shall be I that leads our forces on land. I assure you that I am no arm chair general or princess playing at war. I will not be commanding our forces from back here. We have begun work on a new system of naval logistics to allow our forces swift passage about our new empire. New divisions are being trained and I will personally be on the beaches outside the White city within a few weeks as we work to liberate its people and free them from the oppressive leadership that has brought them to war against the world. Good bye for now, I will return, with your sons and daughters, when this abhorrent action is concluded."

And either victory, or else a grave
Lady Alice shook her head as she sent a final message to Lord Dunbar of the Empire of Hate "I am so very terribly sorry its come to this. I gave you every inch that I could, farewell and the best of luck to you and your people. May we meet again in better times." With that she ended her communication with them and turned to her council "The queen has already reiterated to me that we have her mandate and supports our action... I only hope we survive to see the glory of an eventual victory." The energy in the room was... lacking. No one felt justified in speaking up and that moment and, after a brief pause, Alice continued, if only to fill the deep and over powering silence "We cannot expect our Allies in the ETO to support us in this because, while we may be justified in this, they made no threat to us or ours. I can hope that they send some support, in the hopes that we can support this fleet to seeing the war to its conclusion but... time will tell. I am hoping that CLS will be able to support Galmoria but it seems we may find assistance to the south, word has reached me that the collective are willing to 'chip in' as it were." Another booming void of silence "I won't sugar coat this gentlemen, some of us in this room might fall before this war is concluded, I include myself in that number. However, think of the good we have achieved with the Hard Wires. Our legacy is immortal. Should I fall, Her Royal highness Princess Evelyn shall appoint a successor. Let me be proven wrong, let us all live to see the banners wave in Caledon..." with that they sat a moment in silence as orders were carried out by the fleet

THE AUTONOMOUS COLLECTIVE OF MELKAChapter Eleven: And So It Begins

Julius scanned the reports in front of his desk stiffly. Between the war on the other side of the world and the one much closer to KADISH in the northern reaches with the Midnight Tree's anguish, it was clear what he needed to do.

~

The commander couldn't believe his ears. They were actually moving.

"RIGHT! You dogs, get your gear back in gear, as we're about to that this up a gear! We're heading north. No room to dally along the way! Grab your monkeys and get moving."

The main inhabitants of the Midnight Grove were more than ready to jump to it. Over the past few months, things had been getting stranger and stranger there. The trees were shifting far more than they ought, the strange lights shining through the boughs took on a feverish array of oranges and reds, and the Dark skirted ever closer to their Correspondent suits, tugging at the edges of their brass in a way that was wholly unfamiliar to the denizens below.

As they rolled out, it turns out, they left a few things behind.

~

The trials with the OEBs were a great success, though it was difficult to tell when looking at them. They were... expansive, spread out so much that it was hard to tell if there was an overall shape in mind, or if the strange web of synapses were just thrown into the strait. But Signs and Signals said that they were really transmitting, so the outboarding crew saw no reason to argue, dumping into the waters.

~

As the month neared its ugly end the commander looked back on the many, MANY miles they crossed. The ground gained would have been considered impossible mere months beforehand. All in all, this year was shaping up to be a good one for his people.

That is, of course, until the ground began to shake beneath his feet.

Tense, the Commander scanned the area from his Suit. The readings were familiar - the churning of a new Sun is well documented - but he could not figure out why. Here? Now? Thousands of miles from home?

Gathering his men, he started scouting for where the energies were coming from, eventually rising over the a low ridge in the nearly mountain chain. The valley below was... warping, its slopes caving inwards and its floor sinking slowly into the earth, growing shadowed in the day's waning light. In the center of the valley, surrounded by a light dusting of snow, was a single pale figure on its knees, holding a gleaming gem of a deep bloody red.

"Here's the culprit...? Rogue? I dunno, boys, approach with caution though. This is probably Julius' doing, the old bastard. It's just like him to not tell us about a new expansion." The commander's transmission quelled the chatter on the line, and the spider-like mechs edges their way down the deepening valley walls.

"Hail! Who are you! And who put you up to this?!" The Commander called out as his men circled the deepening chasm. The wind had begun to pick up, buffeting his words around, and knocking the proud air out of them when they reached his troops.

"Uh, chief? Isn't that... Dagwyr? He wasn't all mangled like that before, I think, but it looks close," one of the men said, somewhat tentatively. The figure still hadn't moved, or given any indication it was surrounded my giant multilegged automatons.

"... KADISH protect us, GET OUT OF THE PIT, CLIMB CLIMB CLIMB - " The Commander shouted, swiveling his Correspondent suit around and clinging desperately to the sides of the sides of the chasm. The stone his mech was clutching onto seemed stretched, and purchase was hard to get in the ever deepening hole. The crab-like constructs struggled as they ascended eventually locking limbs and rising as a group before collapsing at the lip of the ridge. The surrounding terrain was rapidly being pulled towards the center of the valley, the earth leaving a single crack roughly 10 feet across where the chasm once stood. A garnet colored light shown from this pit, causing a garish display in the sky above before a familiar darkness settled around the mountains.

If there was one thing the Commander learned from this, it was that some people ought to stay down when they're dead. Many who die peacefully in the Dark can come back just as peacefully. Those who die in conflict are often "saved" by the hands of a loved one. But even still, a body so torn and broken as what he saw today, why, there was nothing ARGUSEED - or even KADISH - could do about such a thing.

Somehow, Dagwyr was moving. Not alive - anything with that many holes in it couldn't be alive.

Magistrati
Magistrata - Mage City.jpg

Grizzakis Darkfeather looked down from the Praetor's Tower upon Magistrata and felt a certain degree of pride swell in his chest. His people were from every race able to even get a taste of magic. The Magistrati could teach a stone to do magic if that stone was willing to learn. Surprisingly there were several such stones in the College of Lore that sat in the Archives doing the thankless work of perpetually updating them as new knowledge was gained or old knowledge had to be changed. The thought made him chuckle. That was the dedication of his people to their cause. Knowledge is power. And they sought to teach responsible wielding of it.

That brought a slightly more sober expression to the Praetor as he considered Greater Titania and the war there. There was no saving that country from what was likely coming. The IU couldn't afford to be drawn into that conflict. Magistrata could not afford to either. The world was going mad and there was still this rogue element out there with Coghaven alloys running amok. He would have to address the IU about that soon enough to shed some light at least on their findings. From there though, he would have to rely upon Project Astronomicon.

The Oracle Network would be the way to finally catch the kidnappers. The satellites would be primed in coming months and ready for launch. Enough of them scattered about the atmosphere with the most advanced magitech systems available. Spies in the sky quietly watching the world. A necessity when the world chose to club itself to death in violence and hubris. It must all be watched and catalogued, added to the Archives so those dependable mage stones could continue their unending task. It wasn't going to be all but perhaps it would help provide needed enlightenment. Sharing with the IU might also relieve some concerns if they rose.

Atlas Station was another matter. Another grand structure, perhaps it was in their own hubris to do such a thing. The Magistrati did not expand like others, but they did build. Even now, the Enclaves were quietly churning out much needed components and materials towards Project Astronomicon. Those goods while feeding funds into their trade partners were supplmenting local construction efforts. Atlas Station would be build of these parts and pieces. A vast space fortress to protect their true ambitions. The Book of Ages already was proving a momentous item, stored now deep within the Archives, another item the stone mages could study and utilize to help push ahead towards the new dawn.
