Thunder crackled in the distance as Enzo's bike roared down the endless Nevada highway, rain lightly pattering against his leather jacket as he slowed his bike into the parking lot of the Aphrodite, one of the many clubs the Crimson Roses had taken over. He couldn't comprehend why his sister was making everything so difficult, their father would've wanted his kids together after his death, leading the Ghost Rider's into a new generation. Even now, after Mateo's death, Natalia was making things difficult by being selfish. She refused to talk to him, so he was going to make her talk.
The door swung open to the strip club as the Ghost Rider's entered, the Romero siblings eyes meeting from across the room. Natalia's smile fell into a stoic expression as she shooed the dancer she'd been talking to away, walking out from behind the bar to greet her brother.
"Enzo...I thought we had a deal?" Natalia spoke, her voice wavering a bit as she tried not to lose her cool in the middle of the bar. The two gang's had come to an agreement a few months ago, they would stay out of each other's bars and leave the fighting for the streets. It had been Natalia's idea, wanting to keep the violence away from her workers, like Clara.
"Well, that was before. You won't return my calls." Natalia knew which before Enzo was talking about, her fists clenching at her side as she mulled over her next words. After Mateo was shot, Enzo had been adamant that it was somehow the Crimson Rose's fault. She knew it was only so long before he came for her, but she'd expected him to be a little more level-headed than this.
"How many times do I have to tell you, none of us would've done that to Mateo, and if one of my members had, I would've dealt with them already." It was what Natalia had said every time the Ghost Rider's asked, but Enzo didn't believe her. It was hard to believe his sister was capable of hurting their younger brother, but if you'd asked him two years ago if Natalia would ever betray their family he would've denied that as well.
"And how do you know that you don't have a liar among you? You betrayed me before, whos to say you didn't kill Mat to give yourself the advantage?" Deep down, Enzo knew he'd gone too far. It hurt him to see Natalia's normally calm face twist as his words hit her.
Enzo didn't even try to block as Natalia slapped him across the face, rubbing his cheek as she fumed. "I would never have done that to my baby brother." Her voice cracked as she glared up at him. "Maybe you should be more focused on figuring out who did kill Mateo than trying to pin it on me."
"Is that what you've been doing instead of answering my calls?" The older Romero rolled his eyes, certain that his sister had been avoiding him because she was guilty.
"Yeah, in fact I've got a pretty good idea who did it too. Unlike you, I don't have my head so far up my own ass that I can't see the truth." Natalia spat, crossing her arms across her chest as she leaned in towards her brother. "Maybe if you stop acting like an ass, I'll tell you."
