Fantasy Beyond Political Ramblings Interest Check

Interest Check

Windjammer

The local Devil Ship
Candidate 1

"Do you honestly think your solution is helpful? Don't you think they, as a people, have suffered enough? I seriously doubt that shipping them off to somewhere else will be helpful to us, or them."

Candidate 2

"I never said we should send them away. I merely said that we shouldn't get meddle in the affairs of other nations. Its simply not our place to do so, because doing so could trigger war for the rest of us."

Candidate 1

"You're concerned about war coming to us? Really? Of the many times this nation has been at war only a few have been declared against us first. If you're so worried about war, why have this nation declare war over the silly things it has in the past?"

Candidate 2

"If you think the past reasons for war are silly, then why not this one?"

It continued like this for hours, drawing quite the crowd despite the spring rain. Two of the candidates dominating the debate. But what was the subject? What could be so urgent that the candidates showed clear distaste for one another? The answer lies in an event that occurred on the other end of the world a few years earlier. A few years back, a nasty war broke out between two nations far away. Trapped in the middle of this conflict was an already endangered race of people known as the Kel. The Kel are an elvish type race known for being semi-nomadic. They are frequent targets of racism and distrust, despite not being known for any wrong doing. To escape the turmoil of their old lands, they abandoned their old lives and took only the necessities, and a few culturally precious items. They loaded these onto wagons and began a journey of thousands of miles. The Kel eventually came across our nation who took them in at first, but as knowledge of their presence became more common, many groups weren't so accepting. Now, its an election year, and the true colors of many are showing through, and the nation is becoming divided. Can the nation go beyond political ramblings, or will division split the nation?

-------------------

Races in the nation:

Elves:

Most Elves are quite conservative, and tend to follow traditional ways, even if they seem outdated. They also may look down on newcomers. They are generally tall with pointed ears.

Dwarves

Most Dwarves are more accepting of others and although they have traditions, they tend to view them as things to do for fun, rather than as something required. They also have an exceptionally powerful respect for women They are generally short with rounded ears. Both men and women may have beards or be clean shaven.

Humans

Humans as a whole are heavily divided on how a variety of issues should be handled, and how traditions should be viewed. Many are conservative, while others not so much. They are medium in height with rounded ears.

Kel

The Kel are a semi nomadic race, with a tendency to travel around from town to town. they are known for their characteristic 6-wheeled wagons pulled by very large animals known as Giraraks. They are known for an accepting lifestyle. They are very tall and with pointed ears, and are known for very long hair.

Gorna

The Gorna are sort of like Dwarves, however they are somewhat more gracile in build with pointed ears. Like humans, they are quite divided on issues, yet have a strong sense of community. They are also known for their love of frequent parties.

The basic plot deals with the how people view different things, and the potential conflicts that may arise. I've left a lot out to allow some freedom.

I also haven't thought out a good character sheet yet.

This is only an idea to see if it gathers interest. If you have questions or ideas don't hesitate to ask.
