Azazel is rather unampathetic, with a lack of understanding to social etiquette. He often says hurtful things without meaning to do so, and is naturally quite innocent, despite being a part of a "dark" kingdom. His choice of clothing is rather influenced by that of the lighter kingdoms, making him an outcast to his father. His will to be neutral rather than good or bad, not unlike Switzerland outside of the roleplay, leaves him often a target of abuse from both of those sides, for they believe he is simply waiting until one side wins to join them--this is not, however, the case, as he simply wishes to remain a peaceful sanctity.

His mercy is only skin deep, however, and should anything spark his inherent savagery, he is likely to become an empty drone of uncaring hatred, as he has pent it up inside of him for so long that it should only need one match to light its flame.

Biography:

Azazel was brought up in a fanciful castle with steampunk attributes and plentiful amounts of slavery. It became obvious to him at a young age that, by default of birthright, Azazel was to be treated like a god by all below his standing of power; of which was nearly the entirety of the Fantasma Isles.

His father rarely had any time for him and his mother had died during childbirth, leaving him to his own thoughts and wills majority of each day. During this free time, he had been allocated a guard, but his swift movements often allowed him to elude this simpleton. Upon freedom, he would roam the city without care for people's side glances and muffled mutterings. A commonplace for him to head was the library, where he studied many things, among which he favoured studying the Old Religions, particularly a form of paganism. It was upon this belief system that they preached that he became a neutral man, whose sole siding is that of the planet and its wills. He pledged allegiance to no man and treated all equal, no matter social or economical standing.

Upon his seventh birthday, Azazel was taken by his father to meet a captured peasant from a light kingdom, and was immediately intrigued by their different ways, including their clothing. The boy had offered him his tunic, and innocently Azazel had taken it, without realizing that it was intended to be a bargaining chip. The boy still met his fateful death several nights after, which Azazel did not figure out until many a year later; having simply believed the boy to have been let free. As a token of his sorrow and gratitude for his innocence and misunderstanding, his inability to help those imprisoned light kingdom folk, he wore the drab tunic every day, and eventually began to sew his own in similar style.

Mauriel, Azazel's father, managed to keep a secret for many years the upcoming battle that he should face at the Tower of Twelve. In fact, it was by his private tutor--a lanky man who had more interest in Azazel himself than actually teaching the pure boy--that he found this out, with only two months to spare before departure for the tower. Immediately, the man was sentenced to death for an unnamed crime; Azazel wept.

Azazel enjoys literature, paganism, nature, sewing and other crafts including painting, exploring, and especially enjoys learning.

Dislikes:

Azazel despises radical viewpoints that cause its followers to become harbingers of hatred, tree nuts (aka all nuts), and his father.

Physical/Combat Information


Abilities:

Azazel has a natural swiftness and lightness of step, making his movements graceful and elegant. This, in turn, also makes him more of a light-puncher, and so should he ever turn to savagery he would prefer to use weapons that rely on swift actions, such as daggers and bastard (one-handed) swords.

His weak stature makes it appear that he should have weak stamina, however this is not the case and in fact he is rather hearty in terms of defense and running.

Azazel has the ability to manipulate shadows and blood, i.e. he can harden and control them. He has dulled pain receptors and so can cut himself to use his blood as a weapon should there be no shadows around.

Azazel is relatively knowledgeable in natural remedies to aid healing, to be applied in many different ways. He is also a quick thinker, allowing him to make educated decisions on the spot.

Strengths:

Azazel's strengths are in the intelligence field, rather than the physical. He prefers to apply his body to knowledge rather than brutality and fighting, however he does enjoy a good run and as such has grown a hearty stamina.

Weaknesses:

Azazel is weak in battle, especially up-front and up-close fights involving fists, so is easily beaten in this manner. As well as this, he has an allergy to nuts, and while his last meeting with the demonic tree-nut left him only with a body rash, the next very well may end in death.

He has a low self-esteem and can be easily swayed in to a dissociative state with harsh comments.

Simple Backstory

The Fantasma Isles is ruled by royalty descended from one of the Twelve, beginning with Erebus Fantasma Nicht. The king, currently Erebus Nicht, has ultimate power over laws and regulations within the empire. In olden times, the kingdom was deemed a light kingdom for its blossoming love of nature, but as the generations of kings passed, things became more and more about being the most technologically advanced, and as such became a kingdom of dark.

There are seven "Heavenly Laws" of the Fantasma Isles:

1. The unlawful bloodshed of another intelligent being is only justifiable when in defense.

2. Do not take that which does not belong to you unless it is a burden to the other person and he cries out to be relieved.

3. Do not make sexual advances without explicit consent of assumed subject.

4. Do not kill unintelligent animals unless attacked or for food.

5. Make no discrimination on age, race, gender identity, culture, ethnicity, or any other personal upholding.

6. The only exception to law 5 is that one must follow the Religion of Streghe.

7. Opinions and advice are not to be given unless explicitly asked for.


Location

The Fantasma Isles is located in a clearing between a ring of hills, with very few routes out of the border. Because of the differing spot heights, weather is generally very erratic and can change without much warning, despite best efforts of assigned scientists within the kingdom.

In terms of crops, because of the ever changing weather system, there are dedicated towns in flat valleys at low levels that are essentially trade centers for food. One such town, and the most efficient at producing both fruits and vegetables, is Piantagione (Pyan-ta-ji-o-nee).

Nythehil

The Capital of Fantasma Isles is Nythehil (Ni-thay-hill). Nythehil is located at the base of the largest mountain, in the center of the Isles, called Stryq (Strike) Pinnacle.

Nythehil is a thriving city full of peasants and nobles alike, with three "rings" of residency. These rings are not defined by any literal borders, only by socio-economical differences between different wealth levels. The innermost level is reserved for royalty and nobility, and in such ring resides the kingdom's castle. This ring happens to be the largest, despite it having the lowest population. The second ring, the smallest, is for common middle-class folk and royal followers, such as guards. The outermost ring, the second smallest and yet second largest, holds the most people and is for common peasants who make very little money serving mainly as performers of menial tasks such as cleaning.

Cut through the two outer rings, there is a large central business district, which leads out further than the outermost ring. As one gets further out of this district, buildings thin and scientific centers begin. There are two major studies occurring in Nythehil currently: Astronomy and Geography.

Personality: Aron is polite and warm in his outward demeanor, speaking lightly and in proper form to common and noble folk alike. But behind his smiles and forced mild manners, he is a cunning and manipulative strategist. He has no real loyalty or genuine affection for anyone accept for his people and his House. He is perfectly willing to dispose of people who trusted him when they are no longer needed, like replacing a pair of old boots.



Details are important, and Aron takes in everything he can, also ensuring he misses nothing. He is always seeking a way to have an advantage in everything, as the circumstance may demand it. Knowledge of the world and the way it works is power. An extensive collection of books reveals a mind thirsting for knowledge. Everything he does must have a reason. Nothing is pursued for simple pleasure or for no reason whatsoever. Aron views the world as a chain of causes and effects, and to master that is to master the Game. The more control he has over a situation, the better. He can be extremely ruthless when necessary, and will do everything in his power to get intended results.



Biography: Aron is the fourth son of Emperor al'Elondren var Delomus Sanagar. Although he was not heir to the throne, Aron was to be bred to perfection between parents who demanded no less than a shining example of Allenovan perfection. He wasn't at all fawned upon; the Emperor and his consort were demanding and even demeaning towards their children. The young prince was schooled with the best education money could buy. As was expected of him, Aron was schooled in magic - primarily Illusion Magic - as well as topics such as law, history, strategy, philosophy, and horseback riding. He was also taught a little bit of sword play, a traditional fencing style, to protect himself. He was also taught the way to present himself, how he should dress, act, speak, and to respond to people to fit the ways of the aristocracy.



At the age of eighteen, Aron was appointed by his father to the role of Imperial Spymaster. It was a wise decision on Emperor Elondren's part, for Aron would prove effective of keeping opportunists at bay. Over the next eight years, Aron helped to guide his House through political waters. With Illusion magic, threats, schemes, and benevolence, Aron had finally gained the approval of his father. It came as no surprise that Elondren had chosen him to represent Allenova at the Tower of Twelve.

Abilities: Aron has become quite skilled in Illusion magic. This form of magic revolves around trickery and deception; it toys with the mind and senses like a cat to a ball of yarn. Illusion spells can turn someone invisible for a short time, disguise him or her as another person entirely, induce vivid hallucinations, and even use telepathy. However, Illusion magic is widely regarded as one of the most difficult forms to learn, and its spells can be incredibly taxing on a mage's mana reserves. In Aron's case, he can cast no more than few spells consecutively before succumbing to mental exhaustion. Aron can only hold a telepathic conversation for a few minutes at most, and mind-reading is far beyond his level of expertise.

Skills: Aron is a cunning, Machiavellian, unpredictable, and ruthless manipulator of court politics. A skilled actor, few would view him as a threat at first glance. In fact, many would say he comes off as charismatic and easy to befriend. As said above, Aron has a considerable degree of skill in Illusion magic, a talent he made great use of during his years as Imperial Spymaster, along with his developing skill in stealth.



Strengths: In summary, Aron is extremely intelligent, not only in his skills as an Illusion mage, but also at cynically manipulating those around him. He is driven by his devotion to his country and House, and he is not easy to bend the knee to anyone else. As per the rules, Aron is allowed to invite subordinates with him to the tower. Naturally, he decides to bring along his very own
network of spies retinue of personal servants and bodyguards.


Weaknesses: Aron is by no means a front-line combatant, being more politician than soldier. The only combat experience his has is his basic training in swordplay, making his magic his only real effective way of defending himself. Furthermore, Aron has been holding a long back-stabbing streak for the past eight years, which would likely gain him more enemies than friends, should the other princes and princesses ever find out about that streak. On the flip side, Aron is mistrustful of others in the same way others are mistrustful of him. He comes to the Tower of the Twelve with the belief that everyone else is purely motivated by self-interest, just like himself.

Culture: Allenova is famed for its culture and extravagance. Emperor Elondren has always held a strongly expansionist policy, and worked to expand the realm's borders however possible, although he has grown old and sickly, and is not expected to live for much longer. The capital city is Avendor, one of the most densely populated cities in all twelve kingdoms, and it is notable for being designed on a grid, an example of how prized order and control is in Allenova. The city also boasts the Avendor Institute of Magic, a major arcane learning center that attracts young mages from all across the 12 kingdoms with the best education money can buy.



Festivals are celebrated in Allenova at the beginning of each season, the largest of which is the Spring festival, where people welcome the Vernal Equinox with dancing, singing, and flower-picking. Art is also particularly prized in Allenova, and theater is experiencing a resurgence in popularity.



Allenovan nobles favor dark colors, such as black and dark blue. They often wear bright, colorful sashes with badges attached to signify their House. Servants also wear badges that correspond to the House they serve, but they are forbidden to don sashes. Male and female nobles will often wear makeup to formal events. There is both masculine and feminine makeup, although outsiders usually have trouble telling the difference. Cosmetics can be a strong indicator of social standing, depending on their quality and color.



Indeed, the lives of the Allenovan nobility may give off the impression that life is easy and prosperous for all, but that is not at all the case. The lives of commoners are much more difficult, with the lower castes living in poverty and despair. Many of the common folk resent the upper class, and this has led to growing controversy between the two castes. Moreover, the Allenovan aristocracy is well known for its constant infighting, with every House engaging on some level in a sort of grand Game for power, where the only rule is that there are no rules. Nobles perpetually compete with one another for influence and esteem, and they often hire assassins and spies to meet their nefarious goals. Even the servants and commoners play their own version of the Game in an attempt to climb the social ladder, and surprisingly, some succeed.



History: House Sanagar was founded by al'Lycaelon var Enris Sanagar, who valiantly fought alongside 11 other saviors the lift the darkness from the land. For his efforts, Lycaelon was crowned Divine Emperor of Allenova, and his land remains an empire to this day. Lycaelon spent much of his reign consolidating his power by travelling throughout the Empire and overseeing the construction of his capital city, Avendor. He also began the construction of the Imperial Palace, which would not be fully completed until after the coronation of his grandson, Emperor Zahar.



After reigning for more than 30 years, Lycaelon died of natural causes, leading to the ascension of his eldest son, Emperor al'Cezaro var Lycaelon Sanagar. During the first years of his reign, Cezaro invaded the neighboring Circinus, which ended in disaster for the Imperial Army. Cezaro himself was slain in battle during the war, leaving the throne to his 15 year old son, al'Zahar var Cezaro Sanagar, better known today as "Zahar the Wise". Zahar ruled for 63 years, longer than any Allenovan Emperor to date. During this time, Emperor Zahar brought about a golden age of peace and prosperity. He made great strides to reform the realm, such as creating a unified legal code, so that every province throughout the empire would share common law. Great works were built to improve his cities' infrastructures, such as sewers, drains, and wells.

Personality: Flirtatious and flighty, Tian delights in flustering anyone he can. He is also a little careless and inconsiderate of his actions, often brushing off consequences much to the frustration of those around him. Growing up as the only heir to the throne has made him feel a little entitled to everything. Overall, he projects the air of a harmless, if somewhat self-important, dandy. However, he is a man of his word, and does his best to act with truth and honesty.


Biography: Tian is the only child of Queen Memeri and King Behun. He was born sickly and frail, although his condition has improved much over the years. His parents, fearful that he would pass away, fretted and fussed over him for most of his life. Many of the palace staff did the same, and Tian grew up rather spoiled and whiny. When he was finally old enough, and healthy enough, to learn combat training, his parents hired an old veteran to train him for his upcoming role.


Tian’s mentor was a no-nonsense and humble sort of person; he and Tian did not get along at all in the beginning. Tian saw the old man as grouchy and mean, while his mentor saw him as bratty and irritating. Tian’s training helped to stamp out some of his self-entitlement, but he is still rather self-important and thinks highly of himself.


Tian's mentor is not a native of Circinus; he originates from the Empire of Allenova, but was exiled from the Empire due to his stance on political issues. Ending up in Circinus with almost no wealth or possessions, he couldn't pass up the chance to tutor the royal family's only son-- a ludicrously paying job. While he has been able to teach Tian the magic typical of a regular Circinian fighter, such as short flight, Tian's magical abilities bear more similarities to Allenova.

Dislikes: Rules and restrictions, boredom, extended periods of concentration, ruthlessness


Physical/Combat Information


Abilities: Tian has always been slight, but his training has also turned him lean. While he may be easily bested in contests of sheer physical power, he is persistent and can wear away his opponent’s resolve and armor. He also has the capability to be quiet and stealthy, although waiting in ambush is not his style, as he gets bored easily. Tian is good at close quarter fighting, but not prolonged fights; as long as he can get in a few hits and dart away, he will try to.


He has basic illusionary magic (invisibility, light illusions such as creating clones of himself, and sound illusions) that help enhance his strategy of distracting the enemy and chipping away at their health. He is also capable of flight for short periods of time, usually no more than a minute or he will become exhausted.

Skills: Knows how to fight long distance through the use of a bow and arrows, as well as mid and close range through the use of a dagger. Stealthy and is good at tracking and following a target, but is often oblivious to those who are following him in return.


Strengths: Nimble, good reflexes, decent at almost all ranges of combat but does best in mid-to-close range combat in short bursts, persistent.


Weaknesses: Can be dense and oblivious, he’s also kind of a wuss, he doesn’t have the patience (or foresight) to set up a good ambush, and if you can trap him in a fight, he tires out quickly.


Others: Tian hasn’t fully realized the gravity of this situation.

It was a little ambiguous, so I wasn't quite sure LOL. I'm going to edit my CS now; Tian is going to be capable of short periods of flight (a minute or so), as well as some basic illusionary spells (invisibility, clones, sound illusions). Are these skills passable?

@Lorkhan Haha, what a coincidence! Maybe they're from neighbouring kingdoms, so their fighting style is similar? Or Tian's mentor could have been an exile from your kingdom, and ended up in Circinus somehow. Would that be alright?

Although she likes peace and silence, her love for conflict has always taken over her when she was bored. She can be sarcastic but at the same time, brutally honest. She hates lying but she, herself lies most of the time. and as sadistic as it seems, she finds love, especially when unrequited, stupid and amusing. Venise is also known for being the sarcastic, sharp tongued, smart-a**. She always has a comeback for everything and is rarely surprised. But her armor is not invulnerable, its just impeccably strong. She hates showing weakness, or any sort of vulnerability at that matter. Venise is undeniably stubborn as a rock, as once she sets her mind on it there's hardly a chance to change her mind. Her temper is the worst. Although it may rise sometimes, it may just be annoyance or irritation. But once she gets angry, all hell will break lose. Venise is also known as wild, reckless and rash despite her smart and tactical persona. She is more to act on instinct that think first, although while acting she thinks and ends up winning anyway


Biography: Born as the middle child in the family, Venise rarely followed the rules. Her older brother died in child birth as did his mother, leaving her to be the heiress. Her mother left her a and a few years later was found dead. Her father remarried again, making another sister to her. Venise led a fairly rebellious life. During her childhood, she read most books and learned how to fight on her own. She would skip lessons and practices. And that's practically how she lived her her life. She would usually get reprimanded after that. Eventually, her father grew tired of paying tutors for.nothing and stopped. Her magical abilities we're something she alone discovered. Although it seemed ridiculously impossible Venise managed to sculpt her powers into something powerful.

Personality: Odierne is a quiet young woman who, for the most part, likes animals far better than she likes other people. She is polite, if curt, with strangers and strongly dislikes the politics of the high court. She cares little about the opinions of others, with the exception of her family who she tries her best to please. Though she prefers to avoid conflict whenever possible, she has a strong sense of justice which sometimes leads her into the middle of unfavorable situations.


Biography: Odierne was the second born child of the Malenfant family -- and the only daughter among three sons. The Kingdom of Matrise does not consider a sharp divide between “proper” male and female behavior, so it was natural that she grew up playing with her brothers in the thick woods surrounding the palace. Her older brother was the perfect child in the eyes of the King and Queen, as well as most others who knew him. He was strong, smart, compassionate, and had a way of charming all he met, both human and animal. He taught Odierne, who loved and admired him dearly, to communicate with animals as well.


When Odierne was fifteen years old, a famine swept over Matrise. As a result of these conditions, rebellions broke out across the Kingdom and soon became violent. Her beloved older brother, who had grown into a fine politician by this time, went among the people in an attempt to quell the uprisings, and was assassinated in its midst. The death left the royal family distraught. Having lost her brother and best friend, Odierne turned to the forest for comfort, practicing the skills he had taught her as a child. In time, she became as powerful an animal charmer as he had been. However, as the eldest remaining child, she was also left with a new set of responsibilities that were unfamiliar to her, which included becoming versed in inter-kingdom customs and politics. Although neither of these felt natural or enjoyable to her, she strongly wanted to live up to her brother’s image and to make her parents and younger brothers happy again.

Strengths: Her abilities with animals and nature in general -- she could easily navigate different terrains. A jack of all trades when it comes to weapons, she is decent with both sword and bow, though neither are her specialty. She is rather fast, and can become inhumanly fast if she spends time around an animal with great speed.


Weaknesses: Interacting with people. She is not a great liar and, though kind, does not have a natural charisma either. She can force herself if necessary, but it is extremely tiring for her. Biography:





Leon is the eldest son of King Fado of Renais. Since young, Leon was taught never to be boastful nor arrogant and to always be humble and wise. Throughout his eighteen years of being a royal prince, he has never raised his voice to anyone nor forced people to do his biddings with sheer totality.



Leon has always been dedicated to tending to the people and building the kingdom. Like his father, he believes strongly in the saying, "The people are our kingdom's symbol and pride." That means that despite the impressive architecture or the military might of Renais, the citizens of Renais are the ones who made that possible. He tends to the people whenever possible and tries to the best he can to fulfill their needs.

William was made for one thing, war. He was raised to never show any emotion as in his kingdom this is seen as being weak. While talking to others William would rather be blunt, he doesn't beat around the bush. While in combat he would be quiet, rarely does he ever speak if his sword is drawn. At heart William is a soldier, he takes orders from anyone who is a higher rank with no questions asked. He's sort of brainwashed by his parents, believing that everything they tell him to do is the right thing to do. Now that he's away from his parents, another part of William is starting to rise. One that questions his parents way, funny it almost makes him look human. Though he was raised to kill William won't take another persons life unless he is told to do so by his parents.

Krosan is a poor and horrible kingdom. It's royal family is cruel and evil, and so are its generals. Their only goal is to conquer more land in the name of their king and queen. William is the only child of his parents, and as a result he was the experiment to deadly magic. In turn he survived, but now his skin grew pale, his eyes red, and his once blonde hair was now white as snow. After surviving the experiments his parents instantly put him into cruel training that nearly killed him about a thousand times. This was all William knew, train, kill, train, kill, it was an endless cycle that lasted most of his life. William wasn't raised as a royal, he was raised as a weapon for his parents to exploit. He was taught that only the strong should survive, and for most of his life William lived off those words. After the horrible training William was sent out to kill anyone who opposed the monarchy. After a while people gave him the nickname "Vice the Executioner".
