Bad Beasts Rising In Character

Johanna was halfway asleep when someone tackled her from behind and a familiar voice cried her name. Or rather, a nickname only one person she knew called her.

"Ezra?" She turned to look at the young man with a shocked look on her face which melted to a playful smile, "Damn, lad! I haven't seen you in ages, I haven't. 'ow you been, lad?" She slapped him on the back, "Wheres Jupiter, the crazy lass?"

Then a call went up. A list of partners had been distributed. Rookies were to be partnered with veteran Aurors. Oh, joy of joys. Being bossed around by some old sap on a mission to make her life miserable. Ezra ran off to meet his partner, and Joey strode up to the list.

Walking down the area of the Department of Mysteries, Irina found herself on her daily stroll going through the Time Chamber, Hall of Prophecies, and the Death Chamber, one by one. A little part of her soul always found herself fascinated with Time and Death, afterall, she had been a victim of those experiences to the point she had to retire from being an Auror to where she was now: an Unspeakable. Nevertheless, it seemed she couldn't run away forever, as the past has some way of catching up to you. With a heavy sigh, Irina was inside the Death Chamber, standing a few feet away from the Veil of Death. It unnerved her that with just a few more steps, she could be taken away in a blink of an eye, but even more so, that she could hear the voices of the dead from the Veil. But, despite the travesty, Irina found comfort in the Death Chamber as she found herself being able to be at somewhat peace inside the chamber rather than both the Time Chamber and the Hall of Prophecies. As much as she tried to opt out of going back to being an Auror, she just couldn't come to terms with having to go back out there, catching dark wizards once more. Her parents were all for the idea of her going back to being an Auror rather than hiding away in the Department of Mysteries, even her Grandfather Gregorovitch and Uncle Arthur had told her running away was never an option and to always face her fears.  But, it was a job and an occupation she must accept, once more. Plus, it was a deal she made with Henrich Schnieder, for her to "recuperate" and if the time ever called, she'd have to go back, no excuses, and unfortunately this was one of those times.

It took all her willpower to not run away, better yet, she knew she couldn't, not when the Pendragon's namesake was something she had to uphold for her family. Never, would she dishonor her family, or even try to do it on purpose. Irina just couldn't do it, afterall, their family were considered a well-known family in the Wizarding World. However, a slight chuckle escaped her lips as she remembered her days at home with her siblings and their time at Koldovstorez. They were definitely a force to be reckon with. Taking another glance around the Chamber, Irina smiled sadly, wishing she had the chance to say good-bye to her closest friend: Darsha Clearwater. Where was she, anyways? Irina could only hope she would be okay with her not saying good-bye, afterall, Darsha had "seen" her come in and perhaps maybe she could "see" her leave. But, that didn't mean she hadn't wanted to greeted her properly, but rather, it would have taken all her willpower to beg Darsha to help her not go back. However, that would have been a disappointment to Polina, her Elder sister who had been nothing but encouraging to her, supporting her all the way through this "tough" time of her decision, though it wasn't like she had a choice.

Deciding it was enough musing for the time being since she had to quickly head to the Ministry in England, Irina walked away from the Chambers as she tried to hold her head up high, wanting to confidently returned to where she supposedly "belonged". But, something inside of her knew that nothing would ever be the same. . again. She only remember bits and pieces of the year she went AWOL to the time she retired. Other than that, huge blanks were caused in her memories and even if she tried to remember, ringing piercing sounds would infiltrate her head. Once she walked towards the fireplace, Irina took one last glance around her "home" before she used floo to travel from one Ministry to another: the Ministry of England.

As she arrived in the Ministry in England, dread crossed her mind as she felt pressure weighing on her shoulders as she stepped out of the fireplace and headed towards the Auror's office. So many thoughts rang through her head as she gulped down her nervousness. There's no reason to judge anything before it was time, right? However, when she arrived to where everyone had been gathering, the announcement of the mission and briefing started. Her face paled once more, despite her porcelain pale face. Her heart was thumping faster at the mention of werewolves but even more so that partners would be involved. Partners? She'd be partnered? This could either be a good thing or a bad thing for her heart and mind. But, as Irina glanced around the office, she took notice of not only Isadora that was present, but also her step-sister, Arwen. Her eyes furrowed in worry as concern expressed on her face. Wasn't this too dangerous for them? But, who was she to tell them what to do? Nevertheless, a fire ignited in her soul as she felt herself feeling determined to protect them at all cost. Soon enough, positive reinforcement and motivation entered her mind at the thought of looking out for not only her siblings but those that were victims of such horrendous nightmares.

Irina knew the dangers of becoming a victim of such tragedy and she will be damned if she allowed anyone else to succumb to such methods on her watch. Perhaps this was her chance at self-renewal and her chance at proving her worth once more. This was her time and she was beyond grateful for Polina , Darsha, and even Heinrich's support in the matter. With a deep breathe, Irina looked around, wanting to find her partner: Leopold Ibsen, however to no avail. What did he look like? What was he wearing? Searching through the crowd of people, Irina decided it was best to watch her siblings from afar then to scare them off by not being able to hide her concern. Nevertheless, her focus went back to finding her partner as her soft-spoke voice echoed through the room loudly, "Leopold Ibsen? Where are you?"
