The Tragedy
Queen Harmony was the previous ruler of her clan, along with her younger brother King Blue. She was a very kind ruler and accomplish many great things in her lifetime, yet she would be most remembered by her death. Tensions were rising between the clans. There has been a fair share of cruel queens amongst the moon clan, but none like queen Esther. War was on the horizon, yet again, and queen Harmony would do whatever she could to maintain her people's way of life. Reaching out for peace she called for a private meeting with the queen, meeting in neutral waters. There was hope, the fact that Queen Esther had even agreed to listen was evidence of that. There wasn't enough hope in the world to prepare the sun clan for what happened next. There kind, beautiful ripped to pieces an unexpected and unnatural shark attack frenzy, that last one to see her live is queen Esther, who somehow managed to be unharmed. The guards were unable to help, saying as a strange force seem to have struck fear into their hearts, keeping them from reacting. There was a heavy morn and Moon clan paid its respect by the presence of Queen Esther at the memorial who was seen smirking at there tears. Just weeks after loosing there queen King Blue stepped down from his position. He announced it privately before taking his departure in secrecy. The sun clan’s soul was broken, in there panic and depression they forgot about the ocean. Dark magic began to rise and deaths plagued the waters. All seemed bleak if it wasn't for king Syhporay, the wise and great ruler of the moon clan to take charge. King Syhporay's wisdoms has wrote him the stars for all mermaids,even the sun clan holds respect for him. Order was restored and the findings of new rulers were underway. Then he stepped down, giving up his crown to the new king and swimming off to spend his remaining time in isolation. This was a hard adjustment for the moon clan as they to were dealing with there own tragedy. Queen Esther was missing, presume dead. There is no clan without the queen,she gave them reason, a purpose. Unlike the surface mermaids the moon clan kept running. It was instinct, programed to do what they would do for the queen, forcing normality. They would have worked themselves out of existence, taking no time to rest or breed, fortunately Queen Esther had named the new queen a day before her disappearance
Sun clan
Queen Harmony was the previous ruler of the Sun clan. She was a very kind ruler and accomplish many great things but she would be most remembered by her death. Her niece will take her place as queen. Sun clan chooses their royals by birth rights.The queen's heir will always have that birthright. If the queen has a boy then the boy shall become king and his mate will become queen. If it's a girl then then she will be queen and she will find a mate who will become king. If it's both a boy and girl then the boy shall be king and the girl shall be queen. whoever the girl's mate is won't be king but their child will have the birthright and the cycle continues such forth. King blue was the youngest recorded Sun clan king crowned, at the age of 15. He and his sister ruled over there clan with kindness. He isn't known for any outstanding accomplishments but always went toe to toe with Queen Esther when ever she tried to impose on the Sun clans way of life. He is still alive but has left the sun clan into the unknowns. He will be replaced by Kyoya. The clan in desperate need of normality made a decision to choose a king. There had not been an arranged courtship for nine generations (3000 years)
Moon clan
Queen Esther struck fear into the hearts of all. She was cruel and demanding. Her very existence shook the groundwork of the moon clan itself. Living under her reign stripped you of any free will and happiness you thought you had. She was feared,she was loved. The sun clan could not deny her power of rule and in the snap of her fingers she could turn the whole tide. Under her rule the mermaids of the moon clan felt powerful. Before her, the clan was hidden away with guards and borders for safety. They were secretive to protect themselves by not letting anyone in. It was Queen Esther who taught them that they did not need to hide. That there reason for seclusion was not for protection, but so that there livelihood did not get polluted by outside customs. They were secretive to uphold the sacrality of their history and customs. There wise understanding queen had tried before to educate the sun clan, but they chose to remain ignorant. King Syhporayues will always be remembered as one of the greatest kings and wisest rulers in mermaid history. Not only have the moon clan written him in the stars he is highly respected by the sun clan. Sun clan knows nothing of his whereabouts. They do know he either remains in the clan, died ,or swam off.
