Ruby LarueReaching the Mesa Zone, the first thing Ruby noticed was the distinct red hue of the landscape. “Gasp! Look!!” She exclaimed while digging up a handful of dirt and held it next to the fluff of her tail, “Do you know what this means?!” Not waiting for an answer, Ruby curled her tail tight around her body and stared into the distance with a sly squint. “I'm invisible... the perfect cou-- comou- no... hiding form! Shh...” Ruby added with a forced hush, and began to wander the area looking for an 'unsuspecting' Buddy to catch.

Calliope smiled at the newcomer. He was human and had a lot of tatoos. She wondered if he was from a small tribe or something. "Hello, mmhhmm. We were just about to head that way, mmhhmm."
The girl didn't look so invisible to Calliope, but maybe she did know something after all. So stealth was the name of the game. Though, there wasn't much in the way for her to hide herself. She didn't even have an invisibility potion today. "What if I do like this, is this good, hhhmmm?" She crouched down so she was nearly on her hands and knees, scanning the area for any Buddies.

"DIRECT HIT!"
"DIRECT HIT!!" Saliva expulsed. He told his imaginary men to make haste. Descending back down to the battlefield in order to tend to the injured. His poor sandcastles have been destroyed but not their will to fight. He can sense their spirits and they were forever strong. Clamping down quick reinforcements of perfectly designed sand onto wounds of the battlefield. He told them to make haste again as he begun to build barricades and such. The sand kingdom was on full alert after this devastating attack. However thanks to the genius of Professor Blanchard they were able to survive.
"I vow to you my men that we won't just survive the next one, WE WILL CONQUER." Raising his sword into the air.

The Proffessor nodded taking the two buddies and placing them in a chamber, muttering to himself as he flipped a few switched, and twisted a few knobs. There was a loud whirring noise as the machine began to kick into gear. A soft glow that grew brighter and brighter, until rather than two buddies, now one remained. The proffessor brought the buddy out with a nod as he inspected the creature.
"Yes, yes this is interesting indeed. Wind and Ice. Very Nice." He handed the creature back to John. "Take good care of it now. I'd like to see how it adapts as you continue to collect more. Go on now, off you go!" He made a shooing motion towards John as he returned to his worl.

Upon reaching the Mesa Zone with Ruby and Calliope, Michael took a moment to observe the distinct red landscape and his companions' unique approaches to searching for Buddies. Ruby's excitement about blending in with the environment and Calliope's attempt at stealth by crouching down gave Michael pause, his expression reflecting a mix of amusement and bewilderment.
After a brief moment of watching them both commit to their respective strategies, Michael decided it might be best to explore the Mesa on his own. He appreciated their enthusiasm but felt his approach might differ significantly.
"Good luck with your searches," Michael said politely, offering a friendly nod to both Ruby and Calliope. "I think I'll try covering some different ground. Perhaps we'll cross paths again with some new Buddies at our sides."
With that, Michael turned away, his gaze scanning the vast red landscape ahead. The Mesa was full of potential hiding spots and intriguing areas that could house the metal Buddy he was so keen on finding. He moved with a quiet determination, his steps careful but purposeful, ready to employ a more methodical approach in his search for Buddies. As he ventured further into the Mesa, his mind was focused, alert for any sign of movement or unusual shapes that might indicate the presence of a Buddy. The adventure continued, with the hope of new discoveries driving him forward.

As the pair of lovely ladies crept stealthily through the mesa, they had a small amount of luck. Ruby did indeed blend in fairly well, however her stealthiness did not pay off here. She seemed to spook what looked like a muddy pile of rocks, with a pair of eyes. It looked up at her with wobbling eyes as if it were about to cry. It was then that Caliope spotted one larger than the one Ruby had spooked. It looked like it had its head lowered and was about to charge!
(Throw a ball or bait or a rock. Maybe throw a couple rocks. Or run! I'd run. Look at that mud. Don't forget the d10 if you throw!)

Michaels exploration brought him to a narrow canyon, littered with boulders. And from behind one of those boulders a shy looking creature stood shivering. It made a tooting nervous noise, staring the man down with wide wobbling eyes. "Fwyuun"

Michael's careful and solitary exploration of the Mesa Zone paid off when he spotted the metal Buddy he had been hoping to find. The creature, with its sleek metallic sheen reflecting the harsh sunlight of the Mesa, moved with a mechanical lumbering that immediately captivated him. Realizing the rarity of this opportunity, Michael knew he needed to approach this situation with tact.To increase his chances of a successful catch, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a piece of the bait provided by Professor Blanchard. He carefully tossed it near the metal Buddy, aiming to capture its attention and keep it occupied. The bait landed with a soft thud on the red soil, immediately drawing the creature's curiosity. It approached the bait cautiously, its metallic body glinting as it moved.
With the Buddy's attention now firmly on the bait, Michael took this chance to ready a Buddy Ball. He held it in his hand, feeling the weight and potential it contained. His heart raced with anticipation, but he remained focused, his vision locked on the metal Buddy as it investigated the bait.
This was the moment Michael had been waiting for, and he was determined to make the most of it. He steadied his breath, preparing to make his move, hoping that the bait would keep the Buddy occupied just long enough for him to attempt a successful capture.

As Annellanus defended his kingdom alongside his imaginary men, a great beast was crawling its way toward one of the larger castles. "Mawp...Mawwhhp" It started digging away with one foot after the other at the base of the large fortress. Apparently, it intended to dig its way into devour the denizens of the sandy kingdom.
(Throw a ball, or some bait. Throw a rock if you gotta defend your kingdom but for the love of [God] Don't abuse them. Oh and don't forget the D10!)

Determined not to waste this chance, Michael quickly retrieved the next Buddy Ball. He took a moment to recalibrate, analyzing the Buddy's behavior as it continued to engage with the bait. With the metal Buddy still occupied, Michael prepared for a second throw, aiming to compensate for any miscalculations made during his initial attempt.
Holding the Buddy Ball firmly, he focused on the creature, his neon blue eyes narrowing as he calculated the best trajectory. With a deep breath to steady himself, Michael launched the Buddy Ball once more, putting a careful blend of strength and precision behind his throw, hoping to encapsulate the distracted Buddy successfully this time.

A predatory quake rumbled, jolting his body into intensity. The sea breeze became violent as this world sculpted another encounter before the sand kingdom. It wailed the ground with anchoring limbs, the beef of this creature was much heavy than the last. It was like the world was mocking him, how could they even fathom any strategy. This was beyond the ability of any man.
"We will praise Professor Blanchard in the afterlife!" The professors witchcraft was the only way. Standing next to a sand statue of the professor, a monument to his brilliance. He chose this exact location to command his men for the complete moral boost as their faith began to grow. Sunlight gleaned off the width of his blade as he raised it in the sky. Hundreds of trebuchets were armed and ready but only one mattered. Placing the buddy ball and nodding to the crew that held the most responsibility. He gave them his thrust and he did theirs. Other workers lined up behind Annellanus placing the 7 remaining buddy balls in perfectly done stockpile.
"HOLD!"
Waiting for the beast to come within range, the trebuchet crews tensed. Their fingers squeezing tightly.
"HOLD!"
Watching the monster break down the kingdoms walls so easily was disheartening but it played into their tactics. "FIRE!"

The ball collapsed against the monsters supreme mass, igniting the sky in a mastery of scientific art. Nuclear crashes drowned the sky in speed and momentum erasing every cloud in sight. The massacre of atomic space widespread softly across the kingdom bathing the professors monument in a glow of angelic energy. "Did we do it?!"

From the mist of damage came out the aquatic god, uninjured and playful. Raising on its two legs it smashed down another sandcastle. He knew it was loving the suffering of the sand kingdoms innocent souls. Annellanus didn't have to command, the trebuchet crews already begun reloading. Nobody was expecting the beast to have such a durability that matched Hercules himself. Without giving up hope just yet.

The monster leans as it takes another blow against it's water barriered shell. "It's working!" One of his men informs him as if he didn't already have eyes to see. "This is our chance!" It began tripping over its own weight, the ball had tested it's power. It wasn't invincible! War cries and rallies are heard all over the courtyard, a taste of victory is all these men needed to give it their all. Pushing with all their might as they turned and aimed their trebuchets.
If anyone was around to witness this grand battle it was simply Annellanus continuously throwing balls at a little water creature.

Glaciers wanderings brought him back to the cold mountain air. As he padded through the snow, a familiar bell like sound began to float around his head. But when he'd look, he wouldn't see anything. This would go on for at least twenty seconds with the mischievous sprite giggling and flitting just out of the icy fox's sight. Until finally it landed on his head. It kicked its little legs, letting out a tinkling laugh, before jumping back off and floating around in front of Glacier.
(Throw a ball, or bait. Maybe throw the rock. He probably deserves it. Don't forget the dice !)

Maniacal laughter of an crazed overlord bitters the land. The awesomeness of his battles has brought him back in the direction of the genius laboratory. Waving his sword around. They rejoiced in the victories that will be sung across the land for centuries. His men began to chant, lubricating his ears with brilliant song. "DOCTOR MAN!"
"WE SEEK THE DOCTOR MAN!" Profuse sweat drips down the creases of his armor that he refuses to take off. "I HAVE WON AGAINST THIS HELLSCAPE" Another buddy eagerly approaches him with their infinite black voided eyes "AAH!" The warrior takes off in a mad sprint.

A creature of his own appeared, surfing on the air as seamlessly as a fish through water. It looked at him in a manner even he could tell was non-chalant. The other armored fellow was screaming hysterically in the background as he battled for his sandcastle creations -- but it did nothing to take this warrior's focus away from his prize.
"You have given me no reason harm you. Don't give me one." He was capable of cruelty, but seemed to choose not to, in this case.
His hand trembled slightly -- a residual sign of being touched by lightning. But this doesn't stop him. He presses the button on the buddy ball in hand and throws it at his windy quarry. Once it leaves his hand, it enters the hand of the fates.

"Lord Blanchard. I have contained these demons. We have lost countless men in their wake." Handing over the two prison containment balls. It was a lot of weight off his shoulders seeing those two monsters being taken into the hands of a mad scientist. He wanted to watch them suffer as he did. "Begin. The water kaiju as a host will merge with the elemental wind dragon." Anticipation in his voice. Once they have become an ultimate lifeform then he can truly test his might against this newfound monster. This time he won't use a trebuchet but his very own barehands to fight this beast.
