Fantasy Apple Grove, Mason County, West Virginia 199X

Welcome to Apple Grove, a sleepy little town with a population just under two hundred, located in idyllic Mason County, West Virginia. Around thirty years ago, sighting of "The Mothman" drew attention to the county, but urban legends aren't why you're headed there. Mysterious disappearances, brutal murders and strange occurrences have sparked an investigation, and as the FBI had to find out the hard way, they were woefully unequipped to handle it.

That is where you come in, as a member of the nation's Federal Paranormal Response Team, it is your job to get to the bottom of Apple Grove's sudden population bust, or at the very least, to make it stop. Thankfully, as a Parahuman, your superhuman capabilities should have the issue resolved before the rest of the nation notices that something is very wrong with Mason County.





Hello, and bienvenue!

So this RP will be a modern/slightly retro setting, starting in West Virginia, and expanding out from there. The focus will be action, adventure, intrigue, horror, and mystery.

Characters should all be superhuman (or superhuman adjacent) and a citizen of the United States, as they work for its government. Though, if one has a compelling reason to play someone from another country or not part of the response team (like they are on loan from a different country's government, or simply living in Apple Grove at the start of the story) I am more than happy to make accommodations.

This is just an interest check, but assuming there is enough interest to warrant making this thread, characters will be approved through an application process.
