Realistic or Modern Apocalypse

Francesca

Fizz Fizz
Oddly enough, Frankie had a head start on the teen, despite the fact that he was closer to the exit when she started running. She was out of the window first, she was going down the fire escape first, but she wasn't on the ground first. She was halfway down the last flight of stairs when she saw Liam land on the snow, and she winced in sympathy when she saw how hard he landed. How could it hurt so bad when there was snow on the ground? She tried not to work it out too hard in her head, especially when she saw a rabid land just beside him. She had two options - run away, or run to help him. If he died it would give her another minute to run away, plus he was already injured and bitten by a different rabid, so there was always the possibility he would just turn later anyways. She didn't want to take that chance, plus she wouldn't forgive herself if she just let him die.

She ran over to the twitching monster on the ground, thankful that it was also stunned from how high it had to drop. Just as she was about to shove the crowbar in its head, it sprung at her and tried grabbing at the weapon. Quickly, she released it from her grasp, not about to fight over it when it would just get her scratched. She then kicked at the beast until it fell back prone to the ground, giving her the chance to stomp at its head. When she was done, her legs were spattered in more blood, as was Liam by proximity. Panting, she grabbed her fallen crowbar and moved to help him up, "Come on, they're getting closer. I know it's gonna hurt like a bitch, but ya gotta run with me or we're gonna die." great pep-talk.

Dimitri gave the two girls a worried look as he secured the knife in his pocket while gripping the handgun firmly in his other hand. A small part of him, his kindness that was usually buried underneath layers of snark and sarcasm was attempting to push him to offer to take Anastasiya's place and let the other two to run. However, before he could open his mouth, his normal indifference and survival instinct shut him up made him turn towards the door. "Come on, Colette! Let's go!" He says, beginning to move forward with his gun aimed towards the door in case something was on the other side of it.

"No, no, no, this can't be happening right now. How could I be out already", she says to herself as she was going thew her bookbag roughy trying to find some food in her bag but she couldn't find anything and she knew that it was time to go scavenge for some cans of food. Since it was still winter it was starting to get colder out in Colorado and being low on food is not good for her at all. She has been on her own for so long and she thought that it was fine with her that she didn't need anyone's help but, being that she is this low on food it's not going to save her throughout the winter.

While on her travels of scavenging for food and killing the 'zombies' so they don't cause a scene she finally came to a small gas station that looked already like there is nothing left in there but that wasn't stopping her from at least trying to find food somewhere. Before stepping anywhere near there she heard a groan coming from an alley and she was quickly alerted that she was standing behind a wall of another building and taking out her pocket knife just in case she needs to fight her way through anywhere. The 'zombies' seemed to be distracted so she slowly started walking towards the gas station and once she was almost there she heard a loud "No" coming from the alley. From the sound of the unknown voice, Angelii knew it was a young girl. She questioned herself how could a girl so young still be around even when the world is turned into shit. She saw the girl in action when the 'zombie' was coming to get her, Angelii was going to help the girl but then she noticed that the girl charged at it with her knife and once she saw the girl slowly start getting up and gripping her knife she started to take a step back and then she stepped on glass by mistake. She quickly hides behind the wall so the girl wouldn't notice her but she wasn't sure if she was going to run or attack her.

Chandler Reyes

Chandler watched as the the zombies split off in different directions, each going after a different target. Hearing Milly yelp, she turned around to make sure she was okay. Watching in amaze as Milly surprisingly managed to fend off one of those monsters by herself. Quickly putting another arrow on her bow she fired another arrow into the head of the undead creature. "It's okay Milly, I got you." as she began to grab onto milly's arm again she heard a noise behind them. Chandler quickly grabbed her pistol and aimed it in that direction."Who's there? Come out"

Milly shivered and covered er nose and mouth with her thick red scarf. The smell of blood and rotting flesh from the monsters was making her feel quite ill. She put her knife back in her jacket and rubbed her hands together to try and warm them. At this point the girl was on high alert. She could not stop moving around and kept turning her head in different directions. She could only hope there were not more.

The sound of Chandler's voice made Milly jump and look towards her. She had just reached out to grab the woman's arm when she suddenly felt her move away, causing the girl's anxiety to skyrocket. "Wait what- who?" She jumped and turned around as she had heard something break behind her. She could hear that Chandler was alarmed as well, hoping to reassure the woman (and herself) she took hold of the woman's free forearm in her grip. She tried to keep herself standing upright and not cower, maybe if the person (or thing) thought they were outnumbered then they would back off.

Tess was poised, ready to defend herself, as she followed the young ladies through the alleyway. They had been trying to avoid the chaos that seemed to be up the road but in their detour they managed to run into a group of flesh eaters. Chandler was obviously skilled with her bow as she instinctively try to protect blind Milly from the on coming bitters.

It wasn't enough though as a monster broke from the group to sink its teeth into Milly. Tess's heart raced as the monster grabbed onto the blind girl. Just as she was about to try to throw it off Milly had managed to hold her own, stabbing violently till she began to connect with the corpse. Chandler spinning around to put a bow in its head, and Tess taking a swing with her crow bar, splattering the skull on the pavement.

Glass crunched behind them as they whipped around to the sound. Chandler had her pistol up pointing to whoever.

"Are you crazy don't fire that here." Tess spoke in hushed tone, pushing Chandler's arms down to lower the pistol.

Rose was still pacing down the road, before finding a small convenience store. She decided to take a peek inside, and found absolutely nothing. "Hmm" She hummed as she walked out the small door, continuing down the road. It wasn't long before she came across an overpass, and decided to change direction. Climbing onto the bridge, she began walking again. This was tiring quickly, but she had no other way of travel currently. "Need to fi..." That pop, it cut her off mid sentence. She knew it by heart, from the Embassy.
That was gunfire
She began walking faster, it was close enough for her to hear it. Just maybe she could get there. Not wanting to tire herself, she quickly walked along the road. Her heart beat, and not just from the travel. It thumped like a train. Clutching her sleeve, she listened as two more pops came to her ears, then a fourth. She quickened her pace as they rang out, not too sure of her actions.
Maybe I can help...

Feng

Feng moved down the street quietly, eventually coming to a intersection, the stoplights hanging from large, black wires. One of them was cut, the bulky lights draped across the street. He shrugged and picked a direction, taking a right and following that sidewalk now. "Maybe I can find somewhere with Information... Or Someone." He thought, scanning the houses for movement. Nothing. Feng shook his head quietly, before quickly turning around. He checked where he had just came from, looking for movement
I cannot be too sure of myself.
Craning his neck back around he continued on, carefully listening for any signs of, well, anything really. His ears perked up as he thought he heard a whisper, a harsh whisper in front of him. He paused for a moment, but didn't hear anything again. He decided to just keep moving on, continuing towards downtown.

Chandler looked at Tess as if she was crazy but she knew that the lady was right. The lady made her lower her weapon but she was still on high alert. "You're right..." She put her pistol away into the back of the waistband of her jeans and grabbed her bow.

Chandler was frustrated, her plan of camping out in the apartments went down then drain and now she had led two others into a harsh snowstorm with no back up plan but to keep moving. "Come out, I said!" the girl put more authority into her voice considering she was so softspoken. She took a few small steps toward whoever was in hiding.

"Shit", she mouthed her words so she doesn't make any sounds but then that when she heard the girl say "Who's there? Come out" she heard the click of her gun mostly could be a pistol but she still ignored the girl trying to see if they would just walk away and think it was one of the 'zombies' but no they were still there trying to figure out what that sound was. She was about to come out but then she heard other voices there as well which she didn't want because she knew that if there are more people then there is a huge group and she didn't want to die today. "Are you crazy don't fire that here.". Another girl said and she was right that can make a loud sound and brings those "zombies" back. "Come out, I said!". DeeAngelii rolled her eyes and puts her knife inside her pants and puts up her hands and says "I mean no harm okay, just want some food and water that's all", Angelii said to the 3.

Milly nuzzled her nose under her scarf, still keeping a hold of Chandler's arm for comfort. She was quite alarmed at the fact that she seemed ready to shoot whoever it was. Thankfully the other girl thought against it. She then heard an unfamiliar voice that made her jump. She squeaked and tried to figure out how close the woman was to them. She hoped they weren't dangerous. At the mention of how she needed food and water, Milly was reminded of her own hunger. Though it was probably clear to the others as her skin was extremely pale from not eating as well as the cold. She rubbed her gloved hands together before taking her rucksack off of her back. She had forgotten about it until now. Now she was separated from her group, Joel was not around to withhold her rations anymore but she still didnt feel right taking food for herself despite it almost being a week.

She went into the rucksack and pulled out two small bags of crisps that someone had put in there. She only knew it was crisps from the size of the packet. When you're the group pack-mule, you learn some things. She took a few careful steps forward, afraid she was going to step into a hole or some ice before gently throwing the girl the bags before stepping backwards back to the others, though she did have a scary moment when her Ugg boots caused her to slip a little, but she managed to catch herself. "Wh-what should we do?" she moved back next to Chandler, still playing with her scarf and putting it over her mouth. This was becoming too much, she just wanted to go home...

Will Harris

Will sighed in relief when he saw Liam and Frankie running towards them, though he was less relieved when he saw the shadows racing down the stairs after them. He wanted to go back and help them, but he couldn't just leave everyone else. Plus, unless he was going to throw Liam over his shoulder and run, he wouldn't be much help. He glanced up at the building one last time before he turned away, knowing that they had to move fast before too many of the rabids came back down. He wouldn't be able to come back until the morning at the earliest, and hoped that whoever was left behind could survive, or manage to get out before then.

He glanced back every once in a while to make sure Liam and Frankie weren't falling behind. It was a few minutes before he saw a bus in the middle of the road, half-buried in the snow. Everything worth value on the outside had already been taken, including all the wheels, but the windows were completely boarded up. He moved closer, trying to see inside, but it was impossible. He didn't like it, but it was more secure than walking around in the cold until one of the undead jumped out at them. It could at least be a good rest stop so the others could get their wounds looked at, assuming it was empty. Will tried the doors, but they wouldn't budge. "Nikita! Help me out with this!"

Chandler heard the lady speak out, assuring to the girls that she was not a threat but just someone who was trying to survive. Milly had let go of her arm and began to reach into her rucksack. The girl pulled out two bags but chandler couldn't make out what they were. "Milly what are you doing?" Chandler always found it hard to trust new people, so even the thought of giving over your own food to a complete stranger seemed very radical to her.

She watched as Milly took a few steps towards the lady and tossed the two bags at her. Maybe she can learn that everybody isn't out to do evil as she thinks they are. Milly stepped back and Chandler reached into her backpack and pulled out her canteen of water. "Here, you can have some of my water" she said to the lady "but this isn't the ideal spot to have lunch so we have to keep moving unless we want to become lunch ourselves" SHe put her backpack on her shoulder, turned around, and started walking. She turned back around to the lady "Feel free to tag along if you want....It would be inhumane if I didn't offer you"

Jumping from the fire escape, john executed a decent tactical shoulder roll as he hit the ground. His radio was left in the building and his car was being mauled by the undead freaks. Without time to think, John caught glimpse of a bus with boarded windows about 60 feet to his right. He also had heard the sound of gunfire. "Reloading his 9mm silenced pistol, John stuck to the shadows as he crept towards the strange bus. Reaching the left side of the bus john took inventory of his surroundings. He needed to be wary of the gunfire, it seemed to be really close by and whoever created those gunshots probably was not friendly. *John slowly starts to walk around the bus towards the gunfire*

Nikita Vissarionovich

Nikita felt a sense of relief as they escaped the apartment. To him, it was all attributable to the plan that he had created in a matter of minutes. Thanks to him, they could leave with as little damage to the remaining members of the group and to Nikita himself as possible. The plan did not count for the deaths that happened before however. And the two sacrifices were necessary for the plan to work. Did Nikita feel guilt for throwing Francesca and Liam into a situation where death was certain? Perhaps. He felt little regard over Liam's presumed death, but he was worried as with Francesca gone, he would be once again alone. That did not matter however. Death was something everyone was used to. Nikita was certainly no stranger to the concept either. With a few people having bite wounds in addition to being exposed to deadly viruses in other ways, the group's numbers would dwindle further.

As they were running, Nikita noticed that Will constantly kept looking behind them. The wonder of the amount of rabids that were following them crept up on him, which lead to Nikita looking back himself. He saw Francesca and Liam running behind them, bringing with them a small portion of the rabid horde. This could only spell trouble. He quickly turned back to where he was going to hide his slightly annoyed expression.

They came across a bus and it seemed that Will had the intention of hiding in it. This was a terrible idea. Why would they run from an apartment they were holing up in if they were going to hole up in a shelter that is even easier to overrun? But, running out in the blizzard was not much better either and, provided they were quiet enough, they could wait out the rabid horde. He pulled his crowbar out as he saw that Will had trouble opening the door. He used all of his strength to jam the crowbar into the end of the door and succeeded. He then tried to open the door using the crowbar to no avail. It wouldn't budge as Nikita was not nearly strong enough. He then kept the crowbar in the side of the door he had jammed into and gestured for Will to try as he was much stronger.

Liam Grove

Liam accepted Frankie's help, and pulled himself up despite the pain that throbbed throughout his foot. He had encountered much more serious sprains before, but this one still hurt like hell. "Thanks for the help." He told Frankie softly, still trying to stand up. Ignoring the pain with all his mind, he managed to get up and started running towards the main group, just around a hundred meters away. Maybe when they rendezvoused they could deal with the maniacal rabids that insisted on chasing them... but now, all he had to do was run. Without another word, he began his painful sprint towards Will and Nikita.

Will nodded and stepped forward. Grabbing the crowbar, he managed to force the door to budge after a few tugs, and did the rest with his hands when the opening was wide enough. "Thanks," he said, handing back the crowbar. He knew they didn't agree on most things, but he was glad Nikita decided to help him. He quickly went inside, immediately spotting movement from the front seat when he started down the aisle. He stabbed it through the head before it could get up and moved on. Will killed another one in the middle, strapped down and missing part of its arm like someone had tried and failed to cut out the infection.

He was in the middle of trying to pin down a third one in the back row, who was struggling hard and making it clear it did not want a machete to the head. He managed to grab both of its bony arms to keep it from scratching him, but didn't notice the undead climbing out from one of the seats behind him.

"Save the thank you's for when we're safe again," Frankie barked as she began running. Good, Liam was back on his feet, the others should have been far enough away to be out of danger, and they still had enough time to potentially get off scott free. Well, this idea fluttered through Frankie's head for a total of three seconds before she saw Will and Nikita breaking into a broken-down bus. Just great, these idiots go from one cage to another, only this one was smaller and less air-tight. She didn't want to go to the bus, she would have preferred to climb up another building. However, there was safety in numbers that she certainly wouldn't get in the middle of the night with just Liam with her, so she was forced to follow.

She glanced back at the small horde running down the stairs, and by the sound and sight she could see about five. Not impossible but not good in their current situation - there would certainly be more soon enough. Fortunately, the two of them quickly caught up to the group and she stopped to catch her breath outside the door of the bus, the frigid air burning her nose and throat. That was where she saw Nikita's irritated expression, what crawled up his ass? She didn't like this situation any more than he did, and he didn't even get as close to the rabids as she did. He could cozy up to the next ones, so fuck him and his attitude.

She didn't want to hear anything from him, she just wanted to get into the safety of the bus, or the presumed safety. She took one last breath then stepped into the broken-down vehicle and was startled by the sight in front of her. A zombie was a hair away from Will, who was on top of another zombie. She wouldn't make it to him on time, but maybe he could trip the one about to bite him, "Will behind you!" she yelled at him, moving forward in an attempt to assist

Will Harris

Will spun around the second he heard Frankie’s warning, just as the zombie tried to take a bite out of his neck. He managed to get the machete up between them, and kicked at its knees as it snapped at the metal. He heard a snap, and then the zombie fell. It only took him another second to take care of it. Then the zombie that he’d been fighting with jumped on his back. He cursed and grabbed it by the arms, tossing it over him. It bounced off the seat next to Frankie.

Frankie watched the scene in front of her with wide eyes, and was forced to back off when she saw Will literally wrestling with the second zombie. She couldn't get in the middle of that, she wouldn't. She only acted after the second zombie bounced off the chair and landed in front of her. Like every other one she dealt with before, she took her crowbar and smacked it on the top of the head, and she watched it crumble. She took a few breaths to steady herself and she straightened, "You alright?" this didn't mean the rest of the bus was cleared, but they now had a second to stop worrying about whether their Fearless Leader was getting eaten or not

Will Harris

Will nodded, patting himself down to make sure. The back of his sweater had a few new holes in it, but it didn’t feel like it had gotten through to his skin. “Yeah, I’m fine. I owe you one.” He moved closer, stepping over the remains on the ground. “Are you okay? You didn’t get bitten or anything back there, right?” Between running for their lives and making sure the bus was safe, there hadn’t been any time to ask.

Róża

-Four months later-

Rose shivered as she walked, listening to the thumping of her feet as they hit the soft ground, the thin layer of snow crunching beneath her boots. She could see her breath in front of her, "Is cold.." She murmured under her breath, huddling her hands around her body. She hadn't planned on it getting this cold, especially not this quick. She quietly paced up the street, before ducking into a building when she saw one of... those things. She didn't know what had happened to all of them, but she knew they were dangerous. She had encountered a few, never as many as roamed the streets here. They seemed mindless, careless, and most of all hungry. She had no idea why.
'I have no idea where i am.'
She peered out the window, and watched them swarm towards a large building. It seemed to be a complex of sorts, but she wasn't confident of her knowledge of American architecture. She scanned the small business for anything useful, spotting raided cabinets and loose garbage. She sighed heavily, she was low on food and had almost no water, she had been relying on snow for the past two days. She watched as they made their way, they weren't leisurely wandering this time. 'They're running, and at something!' she realized, quickly grabbing up her bag. "Maybe its someone.." She thought, crouching out the door and quietly moving across the street. Maybe, just maybe, she could follow them. Staying behind the group of them, keeping an eye out in case there was a straggler. They were going towards the larger building, towards the back side of it. Crossing the street quickly, she ducked into a back alley quickly, following the wall behind what appeared to be a diner.
"Who, or what, are they after?"
Her breath rolled out quickly as she came to the fence, tossing her pack over carefully before attempting to scale it herself. She initially struggled to get her leg over the wooden posts, but eventually pushed herself over, landing on the other side. Her boots thumped against the ground loudly, and it was a matter of seconds before her pack was on her back and she was hurrying towards the end of the alley. She made it to the corner and peeked around quietly, watching the undead crowding into the lower level of the building. They seemed unable to reach their goal, to get higher up into the building. She watched for a moment, and made a decision. "I'll try to help." She thought to herself, moving to exit they alley.
Her leg didn't move with her. Something held it back.
"
Gówno!"
She kicked wildly as the hand gripped her ankle, barely able to feel it through her pant leg. One of them had slipped by her focus. She kicked as it drug her towards the floor, her balance failing as she hit the hard concrete on her back, barely able to keep her head from cracking against the concrete. She grunted as she kicked, it wasnt working. She could see its head now, It appeared to have once been a teenage girl, shockingly similar to herself. She had long, brown hair, stained to her face messily. She was thrashing towards her, her teeth jagged and brandished towards her.
The kicking wasn't going to work much longer.
She struggled for leverage, throwing herself onto her side and reaching for her pistol. She had to, there wasn't time to do anything else. She tugged at the grip of the pistol, struggling against her belt. It finally freed as the undead woman climbed up her leg, her nails almost poking through her pant leg. She pointed the pistol towards her, and looked away as she pulled the trigger. The gunshots echoed out of the alleyway, and the mess created by the woman stained her jacket and pants. She kicked her legs and rolled the limp woman off of her, quickly getting up.
"I have to leave"
She saw the crowd of Undead swivel towards her, or at least a few, and begin almost marching towards her. She didn't think twice. She kept the pistol in her hands as she began running, keeping her head up and looking for a route to leave, to get away. She ran towards the building, trying to distance herself on the other side of them. She passed the corner of the building, seeing a opening through park just across the next street. She quickly glanced over her shoulder, looking back towards the complex building. She could have sworn she saw a Figure, something that looked.. Human. Someone, not something. She tried to get another glance, but her foot caught something beneath the snow. a rock, a curb, something caught her foot. Her body hit the ground as she rolled through the snow, landing face downwards into the ground.

Feng.

-Three months, Two weeks after leaving his home-

Feng moved through the streets, sticking to the side of the road. He could see the edge of the suburbs from where he stood, where the houses parted and the city truly began. He was shocked at the climate here. He had rarely seen snow before, yet alone in a city. He was filled with wonder by it. He looked over his shoulder, seeing the houses whose doors hung open. He had been through most of those, scouring through rotten food and rotted living spaces. He had only found scraps of food, but a decent amount of water bottles were stocked in one house. Slinging his bow off his pack, he continued into the city. He only had one arrow left for his bow, and kept it hinged on the string. Just in case. The others he broke practicing, they weren't well built. He shook the thought of only having one shot to defend himself, and made his way through the intersection, continuously checking over his shoulder.
His paranoia never truly went away.
Crossing to the other side of the street, he made his way towards a large building, what appeared to be a market of sorts. He paced down the street, surprised at the barrenness of it. Usually there was one or two of them.. none here. Or at least none that he could see. He managed about halfway to the market before something caught his attention in the corner of his eye. Something reflective. Turning to look, he could see a mirror in the window of the house, his image looking directly back at him. He looked ragged, his hair sticking to his forehead. It had grown out considerably since he last cut it, it hung just above his eyes now. He paused and fixed his coat, before going to start walking again.
This time, he knew he heard someone speak.
It sounded reminiscent of a girl, almost close to his college professor. It sounded like a question, almost like a remark. It was faint, but he was sure of it. "
Hello?" He called out towards where he thought he had heard it emanate from. He needed to find someone, someone to talk and share his struggle with, and soon. He called out once again, in a slightly different direction, cupping his hands around his mouth to hopefully carry his voice further. He moved down the side street, still paranoid of them.
"They haven't done anything to you, no need to be afraid."
He tried to rationalize, but he kept to the side of the road, ducking in between houses as he made his way towards the sound. It couldn't have been far, but there also was no noise to drown it out. No noise to create a sense of hearing distance. He wondered if he had made a mistake, if he should've kept silence. He wondered if he should have ever taken that car, if he should have ever left his dorm room. He shook his head and listened again.
"Maybe they aren't who I hope they are..."

Frankie's breathing was steady again, and she was really starting to realize just how lucky she had been all night. She had killed maybe four or five rabid zombies, and probably more by the time the sun will start to rise - that was hours away though. Will's question made her think about it, what were the odds that she wasn't even scratched? She looked at herself for a moment, she was completely splattered with zombie blood, the majority of it on her legs since her method for most of yesterday had been to stomp the monsters into stillness. She checked her arms, and some of the material was broken open from when she had to wrestle the one rabid away from Liam, but it didn't break through to the skin. She didn't have the heart to check under her jeans just yet

She was about to speak, but there was movement in the back of the bus that caught her eye. The commotion up front awakened the last zombie in the back. She skirted around Will and quickly disposed of it. But then something else caught her eye. The pack of rabids were finally on the ground and running through the street, looking for them frantically. Her eyes widened and she turned around, "We gotta start barricading the doors, now," she stuck her head to one of the windows and hissed at the two group members below, "Get your asses in here before the rabids see you, and start blocking the doors and windows."

Angelii was watching both girls talk as she still had both of her hands up trying to figure out what to do with her and she knew that this could lead to one or two options. One was that they were very nice people and they would not kill her on the spot and maybe even give her food. Option two was that they were going to kill her no matter what and then she would have to kill both of them. After what seems like long hours one of the girls said "Milly what are you doing?". She then caught one of the girls were named Milly, and she was she saw that the girl was giving her two bags and then the other girl says to her "Here, you can have some of my water" and then adds "but this isn't the ideal spot to have lunch so we have to keep moving unless we want to become lunch ourselves". I nodded and caught the water bottle in my hand and says "Thank you so much, I really needed that and sure I'll tag along with you two.". As much she didn't like being in a group it was the only way to survive and that's all she cared about which was survival.

Lonely/Worried

When Jane woke up, Chandler was gone. Skye had awoken her with a heavy bark accompanied by the sound of the growling dead. Jane barely had enough time to grab her backpack and blanket before rushing into the restroom of the gas station with Skye, where she discovered a window just big enough for her to shove Skye out of before pushing herself out. Unfortunately, the window has been quite high, and even with the snow below her, Skye was limping badly from the fall. Still, the two managed to escape from the hoard that had developed around the gas station, and the two shivered as they walked through the alleyway. Jane felt even more lost than she had in months. Chandler had abandoned her and Skye, Skye was injured, it was freezing outside, and Jane had lost her tent to the dead. It was hard to be optimistic at this point, even for her.

Still, she had to move forward. The snow covering the ground gave her even more reason to find supplies. Being independent wasn't all that bad, as Jane could now call her own shots. She would find a place, barricade it up, store supplies, and camp out there as long as possible. With Skye being injured, the plan would work out just fine. She was positive that all the dog needed was a little rest and time off her leg, then things would be good as new. Jane had camped out several times, and this method had always helped her save up supplies before going out again. Using up less energy meant she could fast for longer periods of time. All Jane had to do now was find a spot.

Milly turned her head in Chandler's direction and smiled a little as the woman offered the stranger some of her water. She wished she knew what they both looked like. She would just have to imagine. The only person Milly could ever visualise in her mind was her mother, who she missed desperately. She wanted her mum, where was she? Milly's breathing quickened as her brain evilly started filling itself with horrible thoughts. What if she wasn't alive? What would she do? She didn't want to be without her! She'd die! Milly gasped and grabbed her chest as she tried to calm herself down.

She could hear Chandler saying they had to move and the stranger agreeing. She took Chandler's arm again, which seemed to help her calm down from her anxiety attack. "Where should we go?" She asked in the softest tone she could possibly muster. She really didn't want to be the cause of them becoming lunch, not now! Not after she just made friends!
