Apocalypse Nearing (Young Justice)(Crysie x Saberwolf00)

Yeah, she wasn't going to talk with Canary. She already knew her reasons why for hiding her powers. It was a habit of sorts. Living in a society where being different was frowned upon only reenforced that habit of hiding her powers. It was just going to take some time for Serena to fully open up and use her powers freely. She knew that she wasn't going to be judged around here because, well, everyone was a freak in their own way. Well, given a handful that were just human, but even so, she wasn't going to be judged here. But, like people say, old habits die hard. So, it was just going to take time for her to adjust. A lot of time.

Serena walked over to the side, standing next to Jared for a bit until he left her side to go to the center of the room. 'Ha! I knew it! I knew he had something under there! Stomach my butt!' She thought when she saw his tail. She had to admit, it was cool, and she admired how he just pretty much let it out. Unlike her who was holding back. Of course she wasn't expecting a big ol tail to pop out of his shirt.

Dick kept mental notes of the fight, noting every little thing he saw. Of course, he eyed Serena a bit. He knew she was hiding something, and he didn't like that much being a person who has to know it all. He was going to look into her later, or maybe talk to her later. For now he was going to pay attention to Jared. He had a feeling that the boy was full of surprises.

Canary hooked her fingers in a come here motion, signaling him to attack. She stood there, watching him carefully as she waited for him to charge at her. If he wasn't going to charge at her any time soon than she would make the first move, but she wanted to see how he was going to approach her.

As Jared walked into the circle he focused his mind and everything around him seemed to slow down. He needed a plan going in. Unless Canary had been holding something back her only powers were those sonic blasts she had used, but a direct hit from one would likely end the fight instantly. She was also a far more skilled fighter and simply more experienced. If he wanted to last as long as possible he would have to push the one clear advantage he had over her, speed. Her reaction times and physical movements had to be close to human limits but he knew they couldn't hold up to his own. He took a deep breath and the world around him returned to normal.

Jared nodded in response to Canary's invitation for him to come forward. He kicked off his sandals behind him before getting down on all fours. "Now or never I guess..." His body became a blur as he dashed forward. Instead of going straight in for an attack he flew past her and leaped at the wall. He then sprung off of it towards the ceiling above Canary and pushed off of it, moving like a human pinball. He started rotating his body and building momentum while also trying to time it so when he reached Canary he would connect with his heel. It was more than a little risky, it would be rather ineffective if he timed it wrong or he could end up slamming into the hard floor if she saw it coming and got out of the way.

"Whoa." Serena gasped in surprise when she saw him take off. She was really taken back by his speed.

"Wow, he's fast." Cassie gasped in awe when she saw him take off. "Guess he's not holding back." She mumbled as she tried to follow Jared with her eyes, only to lose track of him a little bit after trying.

Canary tensed her body up, readying herself for whatever Jared was planning on doing. Her eyes darted around the place as she tried her best to keep her eyes on him. She actually blocked herself a few times when she thought that he was going to strike her, only to have him fly past her. She noted how he got faster and faster, gaining momentum. She quickly moved back a bit in attempt to avoid his attack, only to have him hit her in the chest instead of her face. She quickly grabbed his foot, not wanting him to take off and be a human ping pong ball again.

Based on her attempts to block a few attacks that never came, Jared was pretty sure that Canary couldn't quite keep up him. If he could quickly re-position and continue using his speed to attack from unexpected angles he might be able to force her into fighting seriously, or that's what he was thinking until Canary grabbed his foot. "Crap!" His upper body kept falling, and his head smacked loudly against the ground. "Ow..." He groaned as he tried to shake it off and free himself from Canary's grasp. The boy frantically clawed at the ground, attempting to pull himself away. He knew their difference in skill was substantial, but as far as he could tell she wasn't even serious yet. At least after the fight was over they would go back to being on the same side.

"That...did not look pleasant." commented to Dick after they saw him hit the ground. "Though based on his file it should not take much time to heal." He turned his focus back to the two in the ring.
