Julia breathed a sigh of relief, smiling back at her husband James as they waited in the airport terminal. Sometimes it took a while to get all five kids out the door, especially being the way that they were, but she had them all in tow and so far no one had broken down. After all, this was pretty exciting, especially for the kids she imagined. Had Dan and Lilly even met him yet? It must have been years, if they could even remember. Maybe even Riley Blue was too young to remember the last time Aldstone had traveled across the pond. Besides, Julia had reason to be excited, too: It had been a long time since she'd seen her uncle. He must have just recently retired from that butler job...

She reached her hand out, waving it lightly to catch James's attention. Once she caught his green eyes looking back at her, she signed 'How is everyone holding up?', eyebrows raised slightly with a warm smile. 'We should probably plan to get something to eat once everyone's here...'

Daniel restlessly paced back and forth behind the rows of seats, a slight bounce in his step as he glanced intermittently between his family, scattered about the wide room, and the digital screen on the wall announcing the flights. He honestly had no idea which plane they were waiting for... it mostly intrigued him because it was something to read, something to think about. He'd ask his dad how they operated later, he made things with computers, so he might know.

Really, though, he was getting uncomfortably bored. These wide open spaces were devoid of things to grab his attention, which desperately needed to be somewhere right now. He ran his hands back through his messy layers of brown hair, seemingly oblivious to the strange looks he was getting from the other people in the waiting area as he wandered up and down the smooth, painfully boring dull blue linoleum floor. Time couldn't be going by any slower. Maybe he could bother one of his siblings for something to do, but would they know? What were they even up to right now?

Anthony was sitting in his chair with his Headphones on, He was currently listening to Tool as he was softly bobbing his head up & down. He looked around the airport, Gazing at the digital screen of the incoming & outgoing flights change to the cities they were arriving or heading to. He hated waiting, it was so boring to have to meet up with someone & having them possibly not show up. He usually would like to be in his room. But he understood that this was no ordinary person, this was his Grand Uncle from London. London seemed like a vibrant place to travel to. Hopefully, He could ask him about London when he arrives. That is if he arrives at all.

c8606609b82adbd12954ece0378bc7bf.jpgVeronica was sleeping in the chair closest to her twin brother, her jacket on backwards with the hood covering her face. She had been up all night playing various games with her online friends and girlfriend Jade, and she didn't realize how late it had gotten. By 5 am, she was just getting ready for bed, and totally forgot about the trip to the airport. Which made no sense. Why did they all have to go? They weren't helpless kids, her and Anthony could have stayed home at least. Reguardless, Veronica wasn't really feeling on it much.

She was having a rather odd dream.

Veronica was running, dressed in a pink princess dress complete with a crow, being chased down by a large taco that wanted to eat her. Suddenly, she wiped around, and shouted "Eat this!" As she threw a punch. However, she during realize that it happened in real life, and she ended up accidently punching herelf in the thigh.

She woke up, expecting to fight someone; only to realize it was her fault after grumpyily pulling the hood off her face, slumping back into the chair. She looked exhausted, but since it was her own fault, Veronica wasn't going to complain.

James T. Rhodes, co-head of the household, signed back to his wife: ^Veronica's asleep-^ Veronica punched herself in the thigh and woke with a start, ^Was asleep, Anthony's listening to his tunes, Daniel's pacing impatiently, and so far Lily and RB are being quiet. What's got you so stressed?^ he finshed with a question.

Anthony slid his headphones off, letting the headband rest on the back of his neck. He heard his Twin sister Veronica yell in her dream state "Eat this!" and punch her thigh. He couldn't help but chuckle at her blunder. He saw her groggily start to come back to reality. Though he knew her comment was just from her head. he acted as if she had said it to him. "What am i supposed to eat?" He asked & looked around to see if there were any fast-food places around.

c8606609b82adbd12954ece0378bc7bf.jpg"Nothing from taco bell ever again," Veronica replied, sitting up a bit, running her hand through her hair which was rather messy as she hadn't brushed it before they left. "Do you actually want some food though? There should be something around here." Veronica only asked out of curiosity, and to be honest, despite that dream, she was pretty hungry. She tried not to snack during her all nighters since her parents normally got upset, so that carried through most of last night. She should clean off her desk though when they got home later.

Lilly was standing slightly behind her Mum, she was holding on to the material of her mother’s clothes with one hand as a sort of reassurance treat she wouldn’t get separated from her family. Her gaze was focused downwards towards the floor so that she wouldn’t make eye contact with anyone she didn’t know and she was fiddling with the strap on her bag absent minded LG with her free hand. They were here to pick someone up, an uncle or something like that. Though she had been listening on the explanation of who they were picking up, right now she was trying to concentrate on keeping her nerves at bay.

Anthony looked back as he noticed Veronica slowly waking up. He thought about her question to him for a few minutes & smiled warmly, "Sure, being bored makes me hungry. What did you have in mind?" Anthony asked genuinely. Anthony really enjoyed his family, but most of all. he liked hanging out with Veronica, Even though she gets angry & throws insults at him on occasion. It was either her IED or just a funny jab. It was hard for him to tell which time was which at points. He still loved her no matter what. He turned the volume down on his iPod to listen to her response.

'Stressed? No, just... well, maybe a little.' Julia shrugged reassuringly, offering her husband a sheepish but genuine grin. It was always a little tough being out like this with the whole family, where it was a bit hard to keep an eye on all of them at once. And then there was the much-anticipated arrival of Uncle Aldstone to wait on. James' comment about their oldest daughter, Veronica, prompted Julia to look back at the purple haired teen. Sure enough, she was sitting bewildered in a seat next to her twin brother, almost sliding out of her chair with exhaustion. Turning back to her husband, she furtively gestured back to Veronica to sign 'I don't think she's been sleeping well. One of those teen things, I guess?'

Julia, feeling Lilly's hand grab onto the bottom of her cardigan, gently reached back to give her youngest child's hand a light squeeze. She instantly knew which of her children it was; poor Lilly was just about one of the shyest kids Julia had ever met, and she worked in child psych. This airport terminal was a bit crowded, and they were about to meet new relatives, which couldn't be good for her nerves. "Hey, kiddo." Julia spoke up softly. There was an odd quality to Julia's voice, since she couldn't hear herself speaking at all. It was a skill she'd spent a long hard time learning for her job, and usually she only did it when she had to. "Are you feeling okay back there? You brought your music, right?"

2m4rjn9.png

Dan, bored to death of aimlessly walking back and forth, ran back towards where his family was gathered, not really knowing who was available to bug right now. Everyone seemed kind of dazed, sitting around and waiting for the plane to disembark. He almost considered going to ask one of the wandering attendants which plane was coming back from London, but he was pretty sure they didn't sign and would just take him back to his parents like an escaped dog. Funny how that tended to happen. Maybe Riley Blue or one of the twins would be willing to go exploring or something. This building was huge, and was sure to have something more interesting than this miserable waiting arsa.

Lilly suddenly shifted her gaze from the ground, and looked up at her Mum as she gave her hand a squeeze. Lilly nodded in response to both the questions that her mother asked, weather she was feeling ok and if she’d remembered her music. She could probably have responded with something a little more but she didn’t want to risk letting go of her Mum in order to try signing. Instead, using her free hand, she opened up her bag and pulled out the small device that contained all of her music. She held it up to her Mum and pressed the power button, but all the device did in response was flash up a red light indicating that it needed charging, something which Lilly had been really angry with herself about a few hours earlier. She’d plugged it in so that it would be charged ready for the trip but forgot to turn the plug on so it didn’t actually charge at all.

Riley Blue Rhodes
Riley Blue sat cross legged on the floor, writing slowly in one of her various journals. This one was slate blue, slightly lighter than her dream journal and slightly darker than her diary journal. This was her songwriting journal. She wasn't really writing anything she liked, but she sort of liked the melody playing in her head. She wrote down the notes on the paper next to some words that she actually liked. To anyone but her, this would have looked like alphabet soup met scrabble. But it was forming in her head.

Then Veronica yelled something about eating and Riley Blue looked up from her notebook. There goes that melody. She'd find it again eventually. Riley Blue shut her journal and placed it carefully between the dream journal and her diary in her light blue backpack. She then flipped through the notebooks until she found her poetry notebook. It was her darkest of the others.

Another moment passed as Riley Blue flipped through her notebook and realized she had nothing to write. She looked at her family, all mingling quietly with each other as Riley Blue was off to the side in her own world. She felt a little bit of a stab of sadness. Why did she always feel forgotten?

Riley Blue closed her poetry notebook and put it away in her bag. She was getting bored. The teenager got up and looked at her family. She could talk to Dan, but what would she say? And her Dad, Mom, and Lilly were all clustered. The twins were... well, as close as twins. So she was alone. She decided to just go for a little walk. She'd be back before they notice that she left. If they notice that she left at all.

Mad_Hatter Mad_Hatter

Riley Blue started to wander off: that, wasn't happening. In most families it's the mom that has the quasi-telepathic 'eyes-in-the-back-of-her-head', but for the Rhodes clan, its dad that does the ESP thing, and it went 'click'.

It's also normally the mom thats the one who packs sandwitches and lemonaid for these horrible trips to the airport and the like, but again, at least today, dad's on the ball.

"Arby, get back here, it's time for Elevensies." Dad called, while waiving his hand over his head in the family sign for 'Gather In'.

Hanna Blanchett

Hanna was fast asleep, laying awkwardly on the desk in her room with a bunch of half marked and half unmarked tests spralled out everywhere. they covered her keyboard, her floor and one of them had gotten it'self stuck to her cheek. She was dreaming about the dragon-lady, the frankly aptly nicknamed headmaster at her school yelling at her for something. The dream caused her to move in her chair and wake up as she fell off and onto the floor.

"ugh, my neck" She muttered as she sat up among the papers, rubbing her sore neck and shoulders. Her phone began buzzing a few seconds later. She'd set a reminder on it the other day because she had to get to the airport to meet her uncle Aldstone who was coming over to live in the US. "Ugh. Why couldn't he come a bit later in the day" Hanna heaved herself off the floor and about 5 things simultaneously cracked. She threw on a pair or ripped jeans and a striped shirt and tussled her short hair a bit till it stopped sticking upwards. Not bothing to do more than brush her teeth in the bathroom, she ambled over to her brothers room and knocked on his door

"Hey! Ready to go?" She called loudly enough to (Hopefully) Wake him if he was in some kind of alcohol induced coma, which wouldn't be unlike him.

Oh, dear...it seemed Lilly forgot to charge her device. That couldn't be good. Julia frowned sympathetically, turning around from her husband and bending slightly to her daughter's height. 'Well, if it makes you feel any better, the rest of the family will be here any minute now. We're a little early.'

Daniel caught his father's hand wave out of the corner of his eye. Finally! Maybe he was going to tell them that the plane had landed, or the governed was here, the airport was on fire... something interesting. He walked back over, knowing his siblings would follow. Dad wasn't someone to be ignored.

He walked up to his parents, eyebrows raised in a universal "what?" expression. He kept his hands in his vest pockets, rocking slightly on the balls of his feet. Hopefully this was going to clear up how much longs they'd be waiting...

Quinton Blanchett
"ZZZ...ZZZ...ZZZ"
"Hey! Ready to go?"
"Wh...Wha?..."
The noise from outside of Quinton Blanchett's room woke him up, as he lifted his head from his bed, looking towards the direction of the sound, before his dropped his head back into the bed.
Quinton wasen't drunk...he was drunk last night, after he had come home from work he had decided to headed over to one of the local bars to get a drink or five, and had stumbled back home before he passed out in his bed.

Quinton had known that today he and both his sisters were picking up there uncle, and sure, he did get a bit carried away with the drinking, but still...they had time...it was onl-
SHIT
From behind the door a loud crash was heard, before more muffled commotion came from Quinton's room, before the door had finally flung open, revealing Quinton, who was gripping onto his blazer jacket while still trying to get on his black slackers. Quinton's outfit today was what he normally wore as a detective, except minus the tie.
"I'm up! I'm up!" Quinton was almost shouting out the door, his breathes reeked of alcohol, but thankfully his outfit didn’t. As he pulled up his pants, quickly zipping up the front and buckling the belt. "Ya don't need ta yell, ya know!"
The only person that was yelling was Quinton.

After a crash bang and a wallop as her brother probably stumbled around his room trying to get dressed as quickly as possible, he appeared at the door "If I hadn't you wouldn't have woken up!" Hanna quipped "You'd better be sober enough to drive Quinston, you said you'd be my ride this morning!" Hanna said furrowing her brows "We'll get breakfast at the airport yeah? C'mon lets beat the traffic!"

She was already heading down the hall way towards the open plan kitchen and living area where the front door was when she said that last bit. Hanna was usually never this enthusiastic about leaving the house, but she was always happy to when it was to see Julia and her kids. Plus she was looking forward to seeing her uncle, he wasn't able to make it to her fathers funeral, which was a hard. A pang of sadness went through her whenever she thought of him now. She missed dad a lot, but she didn't want to spoil her Uncles arrival, so she pushed it down.

When her brother was ready she'd start the elevator to go down to the carpark where his 'pride and joy' was parked. honestly she was surprised she even got to go anywhere near it. Her car was a little less flashy, and a little more humble, but it was out of commission till she could replace the breaks, which had finally gone.

Quinton Blanchett
"Yeah, yeah, I got it, I got it, don't crash and burn; Now can you stop nagging so loud...your sounding like mom..." Quinton said, buckling his belt and then rubbing his head a little. Out of the three, Quinton probably could handle alcohol the best, considering how much he drank on a weakly bases.
Quinton followed after Hannah, putting on his black oxford shoes at the entrances, before exiting their apartment and entering the elevator with Hannah.
In the elevator, Quinton took the time to put on his blazer and tuck in his shirt, fixing whatever else needed fixing before they arrived in the garage.
When the two exited the elevator, Quinton jogged in a bit of a hurry, reaching his beloved car, before sliding over the hood quite dramatically, almost falling over on the other side. Quickly taking out his keys to unlock his car, Quinton opened the door to the driver's seat and got in, putting the key into the ignition before...
*VROOOOOM*
The car's engines roar to life, causing the secound eldest Blanchett to smile.
Quinton would proceed to plug his phone into a charger capble he forgotten to take out last night, fumbled around for his aviator shades before finding them and putting them on, and lastly, he popped opened a bottle of gum, tossing a piece into his mouth, before capping it and glanced over to his younger sister.
"Ready sis?"
Quinton didn't bother waiting to ask, as he was at least sure she was in the car, as he pulled out of his parking spot, exiting the garage.
"*Sigh* Let's hope the traffic ain't backed up yet, or Aldstone ain't letting us live this down." Quinaton said as they merged with the traffic of New York City. It had yet to get super busy, but things were about to pick up.
The siblings drove for a bit through the city, making their way towards the high way.
"Can you give Julia a call? Tell her we might be just a tad late." Quinton said, as he drove the two onto the on ramp of the highway. "Just tell her traffic's picking up or somthing."

Lilly slipped her iPod back into her bag without moving her gaze away from her Mom the whole time. She hesitated for a moment but then stepped forward and wrapped her arms around her Mom. She felt a little bad, she always made things like this harder than they needed to be. She glanced over at her siblings as she clutched onto her Mommy. Dan was making his way over to them, the twins appeared to be talking about something but Lilly couldn't hear what over the noise of so many people echoing throughout the large space. The only person who Lilly couldn't see from where she was standing was Arby, but she could hear her father calling out to her so knew she was nearby somewhere.

The car started loudly and then they were on their way. Quinston put on his shades and asked if she was ready "Hang on" She said, then fired up the radio, finding the classic rock station 99.1 FM. Satisfied she leaned back in her seat and said "NOW you can go."

The going was never very quick in new york, so considering, they made it to the highway pretty quick. The motorway was already underspeed though and the traffic would only get worse from here. "Yeah maybe I should have set that alarm earlier." she said "Okay I'll give her a buzz!" She said opening facetime on her phone and calling Julia. She placed the phone on her lap so that she could use her hands to speak to Julia, that was if she had her phones vibrate setting up high enough.

Julia's phone went off on vibrate, startling her just a bit. She held up a finger to Lilly --'hang on'-- and took a seat to place the phone in her lap and answer the call. The caller ID told her it was her younger sister calling. Good... She hoped they were still on their way and Quinton wasn't too hungover to show up. She kind of wanted the whole family unit to be there to meet their uncle, who none if them had seen since their father passed.

She answered the call, waving brightly at the digital image of her sister. 'Hi, Hanna!' Julia had a shortened sign name for her sister, the letter 'h' moved up to slightly above her head, resembling the sign for 'tall --Hanna had outgrown the 5'3 Julia before high school. She saw she was in the car, so assuming she wasn't driving (which Julia assumed she was smart enough not to be), Quinton was behind the wheel and therefore not too drunk. 'You still on your way?'

Julia picked up and her face appeared on the screen. Hanna grinned and began to sign "Hi Sis, Quin took forever to get up so we're on the highway now" signed into her phone, blaming Quin and leaving herself out of the blame completely because she figured it'd piss him off. "Traffic isn't great but it's not too bad, should be there in 20" She told her after checking Quinton's speedo and seeing they were actually at the right speed for now "How's everyone doing?" She asked. Chimney Swift Chimney Swift

Lilly watched as her mother walked off to answer the phone. She wanted to follow her more than anything but knew that she was busy. She felt a little like she was in the middle of the ocean and every person who she didn't know was a shark. She looked over towards Dan who had stopped walking now and was looking up at their father who appeared to be calling everyone over to him. Lilly made walked closer to her father and brother, they were only a few paces away but there was still enough room for people to walk between them, so Lilly closed that distance as quickly as she could, trying her best to avoid even looking at anyone she didn't know. Judging by the fact that their father was trying to gather everyone together and by Dan's expression Lilly assumed that their Dad had something to say. She held onto the strap of her bag tightly and looked around, scanning the room to see if the twins were making their way over and to see if she could locate Arby.

Riley Blue Rhodes
Riley Blue turned around and saw her dad. She gave a defeated sigh. Why was it that they forced her to exist on this seesaw of being shoved to the side but unallowed to leave?

Ok, Blue, calm it with that emo shit.

Riley Blue walked over and stood off to the side a little bit, her arms crossed over her chest. She stayed closed off like this a lot. She didn't know why she always closed off. She loved her dad and she sought his approval but she didn't open up nearly often enough. That being said, she wasn't hungry right now. Actually, she was starving, but she wouldn't eat. Especially not a sandwich, with all the calories and sugar and...

You sound like a brat.

Riley Blue sighed again and felt her right leg start bouncing impatiently. She suddenly didn't want the snack her father had offered. She just wanted to go back to writing the song that she was working on before her sister's outburst interupted her. That wasn't going to happen, though. She had to just act like she was unphased, which was easier than it seemed.

But then her eyes fell on her little sister and her iPod. Riley Blue tilted her head to the side slightly when she realized that little Lilly's iPod was out of battery. RB felt bad for the little one. She was nervous in the airport and Mom had just left her side. Riley Blue took out her phone and her headphones and went over to Lilly.

"Hey, Lilly." Riley Blue whispered, kneeling down next to her little sister. She kept her voice soft and comforting. "What's up? You doing alright?"
