- Adventureland will centre around a group of teenagers who have applied to be a part of the park's Summer work scheme. They get to live in, but they have to work hard. The park closes early on weekdays, so they have plenty of free time to socialise and get up to edgy teen stuff.
- Be aware of the time period. The 90s weren't exactly the dark ages, but the closest thing you'd have to a phone would either be a landline or a satellite phone with an antennae.
- Yes, it is named after the movie and although it is heavily inspired, the plot aspects will be vastly different as well as dynamics.
- This roleplay will be episodic, I will move the action on by time skipping, if things get too slow, and begin each episode with an event or challenge.
- I want literacy, of course, good literacy, but I also don't want anything too serious. I want you guys to have fun and be able to build your characters in a not-too-serious environment.
- I ask for at least one post a week, which is a bare minimum.

DUDES
The Elder | open |
This guy comes back every Summer, and he has a deep secret that lies buried deep beneath his bones. Or, maybe he just can't afford to move out of his Mom's house and this is a way to earn some extra money and seem like the cool ~older dude~ to impress the chicks/dudes. He thinks he owns the place, but usually spends most of the Summer smoking behind the utility building and telling old ghost stories to the new kids.

The Monk | open |
He's just gotten out of a relationship that spanned all the way from sixth grade. He's lost the love of his life, high school has ended, and he's expected to go to college with his heart broken. He wants to bury his emotion and strangle every ounce of sadness he has by putting a smile on the faces of kids who are high on sugar. Although, Adventureland might not be the eunuchs retreat that he expected.

The Jester | open |
It's his first year at Adventureland, and he's got nothing to lose. To put it nicely, he hasn't blossomed in his love life. To put it less nicely, he hasn't lost his v-card. And somehow, by some messed up hormonal knowledge, he thinks that a low budget theme park will be the place to change that. He'll do whatever it takes to make people laugh, sometimes to his detriment and is actually a lot sadder than he lets people know.

The King | open |
This guy is the hottest thing to come to Adventureland since the helter skelter in 1945. He's a goddess, or so everyone thinks. He claims to have had a fling with Sheena in his first year at the park, and so he's returning to see what else he can shake up. However, much like the Queen, his looks tend to hide the truth of his personality and his pain. He's hiding a lot and often hurts people because of that.

DUDETTES
The Queen | the scribe the scribe |
This is Sheena's third year at Adventureland, and boy has she got a name for herself. Between her pink hot pants and bubblegum blowing, the boys go wild. But she isn't as shallow as that, and her story runs deeper than just her looks. She works at Adventureland to make money for college, and although it isn't much, it's better than jumping into a mountain of debt and having to rely on her Father.

The Fairy | open |
Okay, I'll say it. She's kind of weird. She's into alt music and her parents were hippies in the 60s. She hasn't been to Adventureland before, and she's travelled quite a bit just to stay there. She's incredibly laid back and often ends up the shoulder to cry on. She's just looking for a place to fit in, and the history of Adventureland speaks to her, much more than her home does.

The Usurper | open |
This girl does nothing by the rules. She is free spirited and rebellious and looking for something to make her feel alive. She'll try anything. Literally anything. Adventureland wasn't her first choice vacation spot, but her parents forced her to take on the role and wouldn't take no for an answer. She wants to leave the slightly rusting, kid filled park, but there's something about it that makes her feel innocent again.

The Maid | open |
The sweetest girl you could ever wish to meet. Or is she? She's had the worst year of her life, she's lost all of her friends over some crazy rumour [insert teen drama here] and needed to escape her home town for the slightly less drama filled Pittsburgh. She'll say and do anything to make some new friends, and is going through a slight identity crisis. Who is she really? Does she really like Party of Five, or does she just like it because her friends did?

It's 1994. Forrest Gump is in theatres. Everyone is still mourning the loss of Kurt Cobain. OJ has just had the ride of his life. Plaid is totally in.

Then there's you. It's Summer. It's long and boring and a shortcut to the next year of hellish high-school, or maybe you're going to college? Maybe you need to relive the glory years. And what better place to do that than Adventureland? America's no1 theme park. Or, rather former no1 theme park. Okay, admittedly, Adventureland has gotten a little run down over the past couple of decades, and it's attractions are less than stellar, but it manages to keep going because of it's deeply entertaining family spirit. Either that, or it's cheap labour scheme.

Every Summer, the park reopens and invites teenagers from near and far to work at the park for minimum wage. You could call it a camp, you could call it the Summer of a lifetime, but in reality, it's just seven weeks of scamming kids out of their money, playing expensive games and eating as much junk food as possible. The park has two cabin dorms; one for girls and one for boys. You get free food all Summer, so long as you get it from one of the many hot dog or candy outlets in the park, and free rides of course! (Provided you're not on duty, or too sick from all the hot dogs and candy floss.)

The park is run by Jape Ollender, the son of it's owner Thadius Ollender. Both are incredibly eccentricmen, but are equally passionate about the survival of Adventureland. They are pretty lax about the rules, and as a consequence, there have been quite a few accidents at the park, one of which left a kid half bald after she got her hair stuck in between the tea cup ride. But those things are better left unsaid, ignored and forgotten about. And whatever you do, don't mention the accidents to Jape.

I'd be interested in The Monk - or if it's better to balance the genders a little, then The Usurper is also calling my name :')

the scribe the scribe When would you say these are due? I may be able to work a bit on a sheet each night, but I just wanna make sure I'll have enough time or if I need some sort of extenstion. (Sorry if it's posted somewhere in the code, I'm on mobile!)
