Fantasy Academy For The Inhuman

Keaton stood more-or-less silently as the others around him asked questions. He glanced curiously at his companion when he spoke, though the akashi decided not to push. Alex wasn't the only one not sharing things, after all.

His ears perked up when someone asked about dorms and roommates and such. He was curious to know these things as well. He figured he would likely have to share a room with someine and was both eager and anxious to find out who that would be.
Alex gently tugged on Keaton’s shirt “Keaton...would it be okay if I roomed with you?” He asked as he looked up at Keaton with soft and tired eyes. Yawning a bit before slumping down and resting against Keaton’s leg “I think I’ll just take a small nap here...if that’s okay”

Keaton smiled gently down at his sleepy... Friend? Were they friends? He hoped so, and it seemed a decent guess, considering the request made. "I wouldn't mind rooming with you, but I think we need to get approval from the headmaster or someone first. I don't know if the roommates are assigned to us or not."

Gavin chuckled as the young woman made her inquiries. "Magic is permissible on the premises of school grounds, though we advise against it, there are however restrictions; violent and illusory magics will carry appropriate punishments unless it is under supervision of a teacher here, however if you simply wish to levitate a pencil into your hand, close a door from a few feet away or heal a papercut, you'll of course not be punished. I merely ask that those capable of it use their magic in consideration and carefully. We will be teaching magic here, but I hope you understand that BlackRock is not a specialised magic school, and such lessons will be considered secondary, as very few races possess the capability for magic, it goes against this academy's ideals of unity. That being said, we will focus on teaching you your limits, and although I'm not so much a bore as to teach you how to write out a tax report, we will make an effort towards helping you find a place and calling in this world." He stroked his wet-looking beard for a brief second. "As for familiars, as they are practically an extension to yourself, as long as they do not make a ruckass, they are welcome in all lessons and all areas of the school. We simply ask you to keep them well bathed or cleaned if you wish to bring them into the cafeteria, for obvious reasons."

The dozens of wrinkles on his leathered forehead multiplying ten-fold, like the ripples of angry waves as he blinked before carrying on, this time addressing both Lira and Thyme "As for your living situation, dorm rooms shall be provided to all students at random, with two students to each room, your standard of living will be considered relatively high, with an on-suite bathroom of course. Although I intend to have men and women seperated, we have a rather large influx of students this year, and may need to move some of the girls to the boy's dormitories or vice versa. As to your belongings, we have already contacted your carers and parents, and your personal effects shall be in your rooms before you arrive.

“It would be nice to room with a friend, someone who seems so honorable would be....great” Pausing while she talked to yawn. Laughing a bit Alex rubbed her eyes and pushed her glasses up. “Hey Keaton if they let us you won’t have to worry about me biting you in your sleep, I’ll always ask first” Laughing as he looked up at Keaton and smiled showing his fangs. Digging through his bag Finally found it, holding up a bracelet he held it out to Keaton “just Incase we do room together, it’ll keep me from biting you without permission....” blushing a bit she pulled out a collar and stood up, the bracelet and collar were a pair.

The Headmaster took a long breath before speaking again, pep returning to his voice "Alrighty then students, I have a schedule to follow so let's get the ball rolling again eh!?" The old man flicked his wrist extravangantly and a thick black smog spewed form, filling the entire hall in a single second, and then fading a few seconds after, though as the fog thinned and black wisps of smoke rose to the sky, the students wouldn't find themselves stood in the confines of a hall, but instead a field, a large amphitheatre made up a fair section of it, spotlights fixed to rails above the stage. field stretched out for a few kilometres, and the more attentive students could see the back of the hall they just left behind them. Far to the left of the stage there is a large complex building made of one primary block in the center, and two curved wings streched out from it.

Gavin smiled as he flung his arms in a pompous and flamboyant gesture to the students as he seemed to form from fog on the stage "I understand that perhaps a tour is in order, but I'd hope that this school is relatively self-explanatory" He pointed to the center of the complex building "That is where you will be taking your classes, as well as this, clubrooms are present here on the bottom floor, for all intensive purposes, this is the central, or C building." He swayed his hand a little to the left, crooked index finger pointing to the left wing "And that is the female dormitory, containing it's own cafeteria, as I said before, all hygienic facilities are provided on-suite. Known as L building" He pointed now to the other side of the building "The right wing is the male dormitory, as you can guess, hygienic facilities and cafeteria provided, R building" As he finished speaking, a number of armored men moved forward. No... Just the armor, empty full-plate shuffled towards the students, clanking like a one-man band. They collectively ruffled through leather satchel bags to their sides, and produced a key with a tag on it. "Students, please approach our dearest automatons and take the key they provide you, find your dormitory and then rest for today. If you don't wish to rest up, come to this field by six PM, we're hosting a welcoming party for first years.

Example: A-123 A= Building, First Number = Floor Number, Last Two Numbers = Door Number.

Keaton had an unusually serious expression as he took the bracelet, understanding on some level that it was an important object that likely required at least some trust. He wasn't worried about Alex making a snack out of him, but dutifully donned the accessory anyway.

There was fog and as the akashi shook his head as if to clear it, the headmaster started speaking again. When he went to get his key, both of his eyebrows shot up and he wondered if there was some sort of mistake. Face rapidly changing to a bright red, he awkwardly raised a hand, though he wasn't sure he wanted everyone to hear his question.

"Umm... Sir...? Wh-why am I in the girls dorm...?" Whether or not it was true, Keaton was convinced that everyone was staring and judging. His ears had flattened against his skull, but he could still hear scattered giggles quite clearly.

It wasn't the headmaster that answered Keaton, but Angelo. The red-attired man seemed to apparate from the crowd with his endless grin "We didn't quite expect so many students, you see, the entire recruitment process for the academy is done in a single-day with essentially no background research. I think it's a terrible concept, the ehadmaster disagrees. Although we can estimate how many people will actually tear the invitation, getting exact numbers is an issue. If you'd like a room in the boy's dorm instead, I'm certain we could move some people around"

Alex retrieved her key and sighed “I forgot they sent all my clothes!!! What am I going to do?” She asked herself as she got the key and looked at Keaton, slipping the collar on she grunted and looked at him. “It isn’t so bad, we are sharing a room though so it shouldn’t be too bad!” Laughing nervously as she nudged him a bit trying to get him to go to their room. “We should go freshen up for the party, right? And get into something more comfortable?”
DevonWrites DevonWrites

Still grumbling a bit in embarrassment, he vaguely muttered something about the room assignment being fine at the slightly-creepy red guy and started towards the building. "Either this is some weird coincidence or they actually heard us talking... I'm not sure which is creepier." The thought brought a huffing laugh out of him before he came to a sudden stop. "Wait... Does this party thing mean I have to dress up?"

“It would probably be a good thing to do so....I’ll dress up too if it would make you more comfortable” Alex looked at the materials used to make the castle walls as the two walked “I guess it isn’t so bad, but your face is pretty red, you aren’t coming down with a fever are you?” Alex asked as the grew closer to the room, the bracket on Keaton’s arm started to glow a dull red, Alex had smelled blood on the way to their dorm room which caused her to grow a little hungry
DevonWrites DevonWrites

Keaton shook his head, willing his face to cool down. "While it would be kinda uncomfortable, there's, umm... I just don't really have any formal clothes, so..." He shrugged, scratching a bit behind his ear. The odd little gesture appeared to actually calm him, as it always had. "There weren't exactly fancy dinners or balls or anything to attend where I grew up, so I never saw the need to get anything like that. My wardrobe is more suited to the forest."

Scarlett-Wulf Scarlett-Wulf

Taking notice to his reaction and how he acted to being nervous as well as how he calmed himself she giggled. He’s really cute...he smells nice too...almost like a human. She thought as she stretched, the two of them entering the girls dorms She peeked up at him to see how he would act now, not sure if she should tell him her secrets or not. “You don’t have to wear something fancy to events like that, depending on the race I’ve seen some wear clothing made from items found in the forest....it all depends on your culture”
DevonWrites DevonWrites

Upon reaching their assigned room, Keaton's first move was to give into his instincts and scent the area, both checking for danger and familiarizing himself with his new accommodations. "I suppose. Sorry if I'm being weird about it. I'm just not really used to things like this. It might take a bit to get in the swing of things, but I'm sure it'll grow on me." He cast a sidelong glance at his roommate, thinking to himself that Alex would probably be a help in getting himself settled, whether the vampire intended it or not. Something about the other put Keaton at ease, though he refused to consider why that might be. It seemed ridiculous to be so attached when it hadn't even been and entire day since their meeting.

Scarlett-Wulf Scarlett-Wulf

“You did just leave home so think nothing about it” Smiling at him she waved her hand dismissively. Taking her coat off she set it over a chair and staretched, going through her things for a change of clothes she accidentally dropped her bag spilling her clothes out onto the floor. “Oops!” She exclaimed quickly trying to gather her things, most of it being shorts and boyish clothing, except for some undergarments. Shoveling it into her back quickly Alex laughed nervously. “It would appear I don’t have...” pausing her eyes widened as she looked at a dress and shoes on one of the beds. “Damn you mother...!” Growling she looked at the ornate azure colored dress and black shoes then back to Keaton. “Time usually helps one grow accustomed to new things....but new things can bring good experiences as well”
DevonWrites DevonWrites

Keaton tilted his head slightly before giving a nod. When he moved forward to help gather up the fallen clothing, he scented something that made him pause. Inhaling deeply through his nose once, twice, he looked at the other ma--the female in the room and blushed. Sitting there awkwardly for what felt like a long time, Keaton finally switched his gaze to the shirt he'd been bending to pick up, handing it to its owner.

Scarlett-Wulf Scarlett-Wulf

Alex looked over at him as her face turned bright red, her glasses sliding down her nose a bit. “I....um....” looking back down she held herself, a faint smile on her face “I wasn’t trying to hide it from you....I mean I did but I was going to tell you and I...” nervously fumbling over her words as she looked from him to the floor and back to Keaton. “K-Keaton...you won’t tell....this isn’t awkward is it?” She asked as she slowly took her shirt putting it in the bag, a pair of her underwear resting beneath him. “Um....could I have those please?”
DevonWrites DevonWrites

Glancing at her, he shook his head. "It's fine, I can get keeping secrets under you're ready to share them." Trying not to look at what he was doing, he carefully picked the undergarments up with the tips of his claws (careful not to tear) and nearly thrust them at her. "I umm... There's actually something I should probably tell you..." On an intellectual level, Keaton was aware that Alex really didn't seem like the racist type, but he'd been hurt before, and that made him hesitate.

Scarlett-Wulf Scarlett-Wulf

Alex nervously put them in her bag, her face still cherry red from the incident. A surprised look her face as she glanced up at him, he was so delicate despite how strong he looked. “Thank you....I appreciate your silence on this...” setting her bag aside she turned her attention to Keaton, not sure what exactly he was going to say. “It’s okay I can keep a secrete too, you don’t have to be nervous” smiling at him warmly as she closed her eyes only for a moment. She started to feel a bit silly for freaking out so much, he had already shared his body heat to keep her warm and shielded her from the wind.

Keaton ran his tongue over his teeth, nodding slightly in understanding. "Well, my kind isn't exactly popular... Most species tend to think of us as freaks, weaklings and the like. It's not that I'm ashamed of what I am, but... If I can avoid confrontation by not mentioning it, I will. Since you're a friend...ly person and my roommate, it's only fair thst I let you know. I'm an akashi. Let it be noted that I can live with the term 'hybrid,' I would prefer to not be called 'half-breed.'" There was a sigh, something like relief flooding him. There. He said it. It was out there. No chickening out now.

Scarlett-Wulf Scarlett-Wulf

Alex growled at him as she tackled him, baring her fangs and trying to act angry. Touching her fangs to his neck she said “how could you hold something so vile from me!” She yelled then started to laugh at him “if I cared what you were then that’s how I would react silly” kissing his neck gently she giggled “I don’t care if you are an Akashi, my family is hated because we breed with any race and have multiple partners, although that is why I left as well” Laughing she reached up letting his ears gently. “Hey now that I think about it...ngh...” sitting up She grunted a bit and looked down at him. “Hey Keaton, we kissed before, now that you know I’m a girl....what do you think about it?” Licking her fangs she stared at his neck, seeing each pulse of blood flow through his body.

Keaton let himself be pinned to the ground, though he may have regretted it slightly when the fake angray yelling made his ears fold back in slight pain. When asked about, essentially, his orientation, he looked to the side, blushing yet again. "Well... It doesn't really make much of a difference to me, really. You're Alex. That's all there is to it. Gender doesn't really register as important to me... Umm... Sorry if that somehow offends you...?"

Scarlett-Wulf Scarlett-Wulf

Thomas grabbed his key and read what was on the tag. "B-323, huh?" He chuckled, "I like it! Rolls off the tongue." He stuffed the key in his pocket and looked over to Lira. "I'm gonna go find my roommate and my room, maybe I'll see you at the party?"

Alex leaned down resting against him, blushing as she stroked his ears. “It doesn’t offend me...not one bit...it’s the sweetest thing I’ve ever been told you know” Laughing as she closed her eyes and nuzzles her face in his neck. “We should probably get ready for the party, could you help me pick something out? I want to keep my persona up”

Lira appreciated the answers to her questions, rubbing the top of her ferret's nose. Artemis was always pretty well-behaved. The only weird thing he tended to do was something any ferret did... get into really strange places. Alright. No weird rules, she thought to herself, Everything seemed at least relatively normal. I can still use my magic, just nothing dangerous, basically. Makes sense. She was surprisingly rather unfazed by the change in their surroundings, and looked to Thomas again, after having grabbed her key.

"Of course, I think that sounds wonderful. Do you have a cellphone I we could trade numbers with?" she asked, taking out her own and offering it. If he did and traded numbers, great. If not, not a big deal. She waved at him before heading up to the third floor to hopefully meet her roommate. Right wing. Male dormitory. Despite her calm demeanor, she blushed slightly. She'd have to take on a serious demeanor. Regardless of who she roomed with, they were all just flesh anyways. No one's bits mattered if you didn't plan on futzing with them. She'd seen tons of different bits, male or female, living in her family's work.

She opened the door and walked into the room, nervous to meet her, presumably male roommate. In the back of her mind she also wondered what they would be. Would they be a Magi like her? A Vampire? What?

Pacificus Pacificus

Thomas nodded to Lira and pulled out his phone. It wasn’t really his… it was his parents’. His family, being as wealthy as they were, could afford to pay for a large array of phones at once. And they did. His parents would always keep spare phones for various reasons. On his way out of the castle, he had stolen one without them realizing it. He read Lira his number and put hers in his phone. After saying one more “see you later” he walked off to his dorm. He was rather excited about the whole thing, he had never had to share a room, he'd never had to before. Walking to his room, he decided to get a little lost in his thoughts and his surroundings. The surrounding area was pretty. As his mind wandered so did he, roughly in the same direction which was just about everywhere. He hummed, he sang quietly to himself, just spending time learning about his environment. Eventually, he made his way to his dorm. This ought to be fun and or interesting he thought and with no lack of confidence he approached and opened the door.
