BlackRock Academy
You had to leave that life behind; you've always thought that to yourself, you want a new life in a much more interesting place. You got lucky... Maybe... A black limousine pulled up next to you on while you were walking one day, a small business card was put in your hand and the vehicle drove away and vanished from your site.
You stared at the card quizzically before looking at it, upon reading it, you see a few lines of red text 'You have been invited to Underworld High, you have an hour to accept this invitation and join the school, we welcome you to a new world full of adventure, will you come?' You smile and laugh, staring at another line of text 'Tear here to accept' without any hesitation whatsoever, you tear through the card. A flash of light assaults your eyes and you find yourself in a large hall full of many others, as your vision and hearing returns to you, and the dizziness fades you look around.
Your story starts here, Welcome to BlackRock Academy!

Races
Akashi

The Akashi (also known as hybrids and half-breeds) are generally looked down on by members of noble, pure-blooded races. The Akashi are children of a monster and a human, there abilities can vary (though most have the ability to change a section of their body). Many of them harbour a distinct hate for Vampires in particular. Compared to most pure-blood races, they are weaker on average. The akashi visually represent one form of animal, and they're attributes are closely related to them; however not a single Akashi has and ever will exist with the ability of flight.
Human

Humans are simply humans, many of them have no idea of the existence of monsters, they have no distinct abilities and short life spans, However they show a distinct ability that no other races possess, the ability to become Ghouls.
Ghouls

Ghouls are the result of Vampire blood beginning to consume a human being, Ghouls can only be created from virgin humans and possess abilities similar to the host vampire, however they're abilities only activate when in severe danger or when they desperately need those abilities, they possess miraculous strength, reflexes and stamina that far surpass a humans. At a price. As a Ghoul continues to use the vampire blood to fight, the vampire blood consumes the human part and destroys there rational thinking, then eventually, there bodies.
Vampires

Vampires are extremely powerful creatures that possess immense strength and speed; aswell as immortality, they stop aging one they reach maturity (Eighteen) unlike common belief, vampires are born in the traditional fashion, not created. Most households consider breeding with a human or other races as a sin, so it rarely happens. however, if it does, they are not like Akashi, they are still vampires. There blood has extreme regenerative powers, and they are able to inject it into others through their fangs, and drink another's blood the same way, there blood only heals humans and over vampires, at the cost of making hunans into ghouls. Giving blood is considered extremely intimate to vampires and is not done with another unless they truly care.
Greater Daemon

These creatures are born from the sins of living beings and are many in number, there are two kinds of Daemon: Greater and Lesser. Greater Daemons are humanoid in form with a slight reddish tint to their skin, with horns as well, some have bat-like wings that are commonly impractical and of no use. Greater Daemons are born from grand sins: Murder, Rape, Suicide etc. Whilst Lesser Daemons are born from minor sins: Robbery, Assault, Profanity, Lustful thoughts etc. Lesser Daemons have bestial forms and act as familiars (similar to pets) for Greater Daemons. In terms of combat abilities, the Greater Daemons are known for their ability to summon flames and transforming there familiars into weapons of their liking (no guns etc.). They are also akin to vampires in terms of aging.
Angel

they were sent to earth as infants by god, instantly put into adoption, they live in the human world until they reach maturity, then that are called back to heaven to serve by the side of god. They are unable to fly at a young age, and those that can are only able to do so for short periods of time. They are also immortal and stop aging at 18. Unlike common belief, they are not kind-hearted by nature, and vary in personality just like any other race. They are also strong, but weaken at night.
Fallen Angel
those who are cast out by god and presumed to be evil from birth, most angels despise them, vampires think of them as lower beings, Daemons think of them as cheap knockoffs of them; they are known by two names: Winged Destruction, Outcasts. They are the most hated race by far, most living in solitude, many developing a cruel disposition to the other races, as well as each other. They are more often than not violent. There wings are black and glass-like. They possess ridiculous strength compared to others, too much, so much that they are unable to use it properly. Enough power to level an entire city resides in them, but using even half of that is enough to kill them ten times over. They are alike to ticking time bombs.
Kabaal

The Kabaal, are a creature that originated in Egypt, originally they were known as Lizard men, however over the long period of time in which they have existed, they have grown accustomed to human society, meaning that they have also changed physically. They all have blonde hair and green eyes, the reason for this physical difference is unknown and often considered irrational, they've developed a unique resistance to the heat and have developed scales and retractable claws, they now also retain a humanoid shape as well. The Kabaal also have thick tails that they can hide easily. they're acute sense of hearing and smell is something that still aids them now, they are by far one of the species that integrated into human society the most efficiently.
Deminala (Immortals)

The Deminala are truly immortal, no matter what they cannot die. Of course something odd accompanies this; they possess no other notable abilities, no affinities to magics, no supernatural strength; they can be harmed like a normal human, and are biologically indifferent from humans save the fact that once they die, no matter what condition they're in, they return to life in perfect and healthy condition, they can starve, dehydrate, drown, be beheaded, but in the end, they rise again in tip top condition, they can die of cancer and be fine in a matter of seconds. Naturally there are plenty of ways to beat them since they lack any other exceptional abilities.
Magi

Magi are a genetic ancestor of modern day Humans. A split off from the normal Homo Sapiens Sapiens, Magi are physically very similar to Humans. The main notable difference exists in the vibrancy and general appearance of the eyes. Magi can have a wider range of eye colors than Humans, and the patterns of the iris dance about like tiny glowing wisps. This is understandably easy for Humans to either ignore altogether, or explain away as a trick of the light. The other main physical difference is the potency of their blood. Clearly not visible to Humans, this doesn't tend to cause most Magi problems in their day to day lives. That said, their blood has throughout history made for a much higher rate of kidnappings and murders, especially from Vampires or any other supernatural race that may have a use for such mana-rich blood.

They have the ability to cast many different spells through a wand or similar focus. Many have small familiars like a ferret, cat, or a bird to aid in their potency. The most common type of casting involves circles. These are brightly glowing circles that spread out from a central point, be that their focus or their feet/hands. They are incredibly powerful, versatile spell-casters who have a variety of uses, but they are notoriously difficult to teach. Magi students are like ants to lions when comparing them to their elders.

Magi live long lives, and while there is technically no limit to how long the mana in their blood may keep them youthful and healthy, many Magi pass away after the 1,500 year mark due to a lack of will to go on. This is not always the case, however, and some of the most well respected Magi, though extremely youthful in appearance, are thousands upon thousands of years old and scarily powerful.

The School
The schools headmaster is a being of unimaginable power, he is strong enough to be able to erect a nigh impenetrable barrier around the school; no one can enter the school unless invited. The school itself is a massive complex; spanning dozens of acres. And being full of buildings, large fields, a sparring arena, gym and all sorts of spaces for clubs are available.

The school also has somewhat of a reputation due to the freedom it allows it's students and the regular festivities

Housing

The boys and girls dorms are separated, the boys on the east wing, the girls on the west wing. The dorm rooms are fairly average and hold 2 people. Though the school is designed to separate male and female living space, due to over population of one gender. In some rare cases a boy and girl may occupy the same room (if you'd like to choose who you want your character to share a room with, please contact the person you intend to live with through DM and get there approval, then tell me)

Clubs

Yes they exist and can be started by anyone (of course they must be atleast a little logical) the clubs have there own rooms as well.

Curriculum

The school follows a normal high school curriculum, however it isn't uncommon for students to be allowed a day off whilst the school host special events.

Introduction

Narrator
The light faded from your eyes, that gentle hum that banged against your eardrums faded away with it. The sky shuddered, thick grey clouds hung overheard, streaks of lightning and thunder bounced through the clouds, an icy bitter wind howled through the sky, leaves and thin trees shook and shivered. You found your feet upon the cobbles of a winding path, hemmed in by dying brush, smothering it as it snaked down for what appeared to be miles. ahead of you, a towering castle reached up to the sky, crumbling towers and faded glass windows stood out like a sore thumb against the seemingly scrubbed clean cobbles you stand on; those same cobbles marched on towards the dilapidated castle. You're surrounded on all sides by others, people you can only assume are fellow students, picking themselves up from the cobblestones too. A few students had their fingers in their ears, murmuring "Mop" to themselves, perhaps the blinding light and whine in their ears was yet to fade.

Someone stood out from the crowd, a few metres ahead, dressed head-to-toe in crimson, red like blood. He had a pallor to his skin, as if it was almost transluscent. Scraggly locks of black hair ran to his shoulders and a wry smile painted across his suave face. He gestured to you all, waving his arms in theatrical fashion towards the castle, screaming at the top of his longs to be heard over the wind.

"Children, children! I understand you are likely confused, but just follow me and all will (probably) be explained!" He paused for a moment, then stopped waving towards the decrepit castle, and instead towards the students "Ah also, WELCOME TO BLACKROCK ACADEMY!"

Thomas looked around, blinking. If the teleportation hadn't shocked him, the harsh wind and cold had. He sheltered Henry with his body, and looked up as he heard a voice call out over the wind. As the man called out the name of the academy, Thomas couldn't help but smile at where he now knew he was. He glanced around at the people that had gathered. A somewhat astonished look crossed his face as he saw people and creatures he had never seen or heard of before. It was a new experience, and he was going to make the most of it.

Keaton tilted his head and closed his eyes, ignoring the cold for now. He scented for any danger before starting forward. There was a strange man and he was saying something like a welcome speech. Maybe he would know where to go warm up. He could survive in the cold, but that didn't mean he particularly wanted to if there were other options.

Thyme
Thyme was one of the 'moppers'.

He could see just fine, but the whine persisted. He moved his fingers from his ears as the whine receeded to nothing more than a hum like the noise of a fly in flight. The gale buffeted against his side, an icy chill ran from the nape of his neck to the tip of his now extended tail. Thyme looked quizically at the path that extended towards the castle, unike a fair few students, he had a sports bag slung across his shoulder, packed with his clothes and other belongings. Ty pulled his phone from his pocket, an old flip-phone, not exactly high-tech, but sturdy and reliable. No signal.

After another moments pause Ty moved forwards, hands in his pockets as he stowed his phone. He gave a nod to the Man In Red and moved on towards the castle. The buzz had gone now, replaced by the ambient sound of wood cracking under it's own weight as it rots.

The light was certainly blinding, but Lira accepted it with a slow breath of anticipation. Should she have told her parents first? Yes... Did they also probably already know exactly what was going on because they were scary weird like that? Also yes. She'd call them later. As she brushed a hand through her bright red hair, the mana streaking patterns through her vibrant blue eyes. Really, aside from that she looked perfectly human.

She didn't move forward until the man spoke, eyeing others to try to figure out who or what they were. Did she recognize any of them perhaps? Didn't seem like it... Her little white familiar curled up against her neck, and she pet the tip of his nose gently, "There there Artemis. I don't think that noise will happen again soon. Sorry I didn't warn you, dear."

Blackrock Academy, huh? she thought as she eyed the man in the red outfit. Lira hurried her pace so she was nearer to the strange man. At least he seemed to know more of what was going on, and certainly more than she did at the moment. She wondered if any of her family had gone to this school. If they had, it was definitely one of the best, if not the best around. Her family was so picky like that.

Lira also ended up wondering if there were any vampires about that would notice the smell of her blood. At the moment, she didn't notice other Magi, but it wasn't like they were easy to identify, so she accepted she could be wrong about that. If there were a lot of vampires, and if she was the only Magi... Oh she hoped no one would be annoying.

Suddenly, she rubbed her face and let out a sigh, still thinking to herself, Stop overthinking things so much, Lira... It won't do any good. You ripped that teleportation card, and now you're here. Enjoy it. Don't analyze everything. You're fine. Come what may, this would be a wonderful adventure.

She turned to a fellow student near to her and smiled politely, "Is it safe to assume you got that strange invitation as well?"

((This can be towards whomever. I left it ambiguous so whoever wanted to could respond as they like.))

Thomas began to wander around looking at people to see what he could recognize. He noted the many kinds of people, but one seemed to catch his eye for some reason he couldn't explain. Slowly, he approached the girl and tapped her on the shoulder. "You seem oddly not odd, may I ask what you are?" He didn't feel like telling her how curious he was as to why he was so drawn to her.

(( TheWoopdieWop TheWoopdieWop ))
A man tapped Lira on her shoulder, and she just about jumped out of her skin, considering she was expecting the person she bothered to respond and not some other random person. Still, she put on a smile and turned to look at him, "Oh hello there! You startled me quite a bit." She pet Artemis gently on the bridge of the nose as she awkwardly thought of how to respond, "Well... I'm a Magi." Lira pointed to her eyes, trying to note the wispy moving bits, "Other than this, I look pretty Human. I even go- or I guess used to go to a Human school."

"Oh, where are my manners," she said, sticking out her hand, "My name is Lira Ithella. If you're local... well.. Local to where I am anyways, you might have heard my last name around. My family runs a sort of clinic for supernatural people." She brought out her wand and twirled it in her fingers. The thing was made of beautiful dark wood, was capped on the bottom by a silvery metal, and was embossed with the same metal all up the length of it with runic figures. "Healers," she continued, "You're... a vampire. Right? We cater to all sorts of different races, and my parents have pretty much forced me to remember different races' physical traits and whatnot. Heck, even if my parents don't know what someone is, they'll do their best to help them."

She was clearly proud while talking about them, her smile much more genuine now, even as she tucked her wand back in her pocket. "Sorry. Went on a slight rant. Do you happen to recognize the name of the school? I feel like I should. Perhaps I'm just a little distracted still from the very loud and jarring teleport."

Alex pulled his coat closer against his body, aimlessly following the man in red. He didn’t care to look at any of those who were there or even speak to them. Just the simple fact that he was free of his family, his tormentors and beasts was all that he needed. Looking towards the castle he sighed, wondering if this was where his friend had disappeared to a couple years ago. Clenching his fists and shaking the thought from his head he started his track towards the castle.

Alucard watched from one of the walls of castle, examining all those who had come and accepted what was on the card. Laughing as Alex caught his eye, smiling as he licked his lips. His eyes scanning over each new arrival like prey or to study and learn what he could. Still every time he focused on someone new he found his eyes focused on Alex.

Narrator
As the students neared the castle, the rain sky suddenly brightened, clouds faded away and the violent gale calmed to nothing more than a gentle breeze. The dilapidated castle shifted to. Now, rather than a brooding looking fortress marked by ruined towers and unmanned parapets, a rather traditional looking, modern school campus unveiled before them. Admittedly there were still some signs the school was... irregular.

One possible example of this would be the what-seemed-to-be a five year old boy, comfortable riding towards them on a Harley, though there's no way he was tall enough to drive it so comfortably. The bike pulled up ahead of students, and both IT and its passenger morphed, much like the school had. The boy shifted to an aging looking man, balding silver hair covered by a stereotypical, star-patterned wizards hat. The bike seemed to shimmer, before flattening and warping into what something that looked eerily similar to a sewing machine on a cheap office table.

The old man now produced a stack of what appeared to be legal papers and a basier of ID cards on coal black lanyards by rummaging around in his comical looking conical hat. The aged man offered a crooked smile to the students as he set the stack of papers besides the sewing machine of doom.

"As I can assume our dear student council Mister Angelo has already screamed at you, welcome to BlackRock Academy" his voice smooth and hearty, the sort of voice people thought of when they inagined what Santa Claus sounded like. The man in red gave a nod and a slight wave of his hand, as if to confirm he was in fact Mister Angelo.

The withered looking man carried on. "And I am your Headmaster, Gavin. Yes, that is both my first and last name. Now, although I should be hurrying you around the campus for orienteering, I've decided to take a new approach." He gestured towards the bandolier of ID badges and the sinister sewing machine. "All students are required to carry around these ID badges, they're enchanted and cursed so they are impossible to copy, and are also electronic. They allow you to spend your allowance on campus, and access any rooms that you are allowed into. To those of you who don't wish to carry these ID cards around, there is also this..." He gestures to the sewing machine "It will give you a tattoo, functionally identical to the ID cards. I can also assure you that both application and removal of the tattoo is relatively painless, and don't leave a scar upon removal each term.

The headmaster moved a few feet away from the machine whilst Mister Angelo stood beside it.

"Now please line up appropriately"

Alex stepped towards the the line for the ID badges, not truly wishing to get a tattoo even if was painless, he just didn’t like anyone or anything touching him. Pulling his scarf up over his nose he waited patiently for the others to go though and receive their badges, awaiting his turn.

"A magi, huh?" Thomas said with a slightly confused look on his face, "I think I heard my parents talk about them once or twice but this is the first time I've been able to go around meeting people so this is kinda cool!" A very friendly smile stretched across his face as he shook her hand. "I'm Thomas Emrick," he stated pleasantly, "nice to meet you."

The weather cleared and he allowed Henry out from under his jacket. Henry proceeded to perch on Thomas's shoulder. His attention was then grabbed by his last second noticing of a rather funny sight. An old man riding around on a moving desk. The man started talking about school Ids and such. "That sounds pretty important, lets check it out."

Keaton eyed the sewing machine suspiciously before shrugging and moving towards it. He didn't really like needles but the old guy said it wasn't painful and he figured a tattoo wouldn't be as easy to lose as a card. Much less pressure than trying to remember to take a card everywhere he went.

Thyme
Thyme moved on to the glorified tattoo needle, tapping his feet lightly on the cobbles as he walked, as it was his turn to be marked, he stepped forward, looking towards Angelo as he presented his forearm under the needle. "So, can I ask if the whole crimson like blood thing is symbo-" the metal rod pierced through his skin, moving along his forearm and striking his flesh hundreds of times. Just like the headmaster had promised, it didn't hurt, but it stung a little, like a papercut. He nodded to Angelo "apologies if me asking was rude, just tryingto distract myself before the needle struck, didn't want to flinch from anticipation, I'm against pain, as are most people" He smiled "I hope I'll be seing you soon" He thought for a moment, realising he wasn't a typical teacher, but was a counsellor "Actually, I guess it's technically best I don't see you" Thyme sighed, with a puzzled and oblivious look on his face. "I did not think that through".

(Apologies for late first-post.)

Sreko stumbled lightly after the teleportation, as it had caught him off guard. He was expecting some kind of magical driver to pick him up, but teleportation was fine too. It was straight and to the point. He liked it.

Though, he felt underwhelmed at the sight of the dilipated castle. His senses told him this was a mistake, but his curiosity was too great and followed the red-suited man towards the castle which would reveal itself to be a modern school campus. Sreko smiled as he made mental notes of the best places to put barbed wire and punji sticks.

The old wizard rolled out with the badges and tattoo machine. He decided on the tattoo. He had no qualms with the method and it would be one less thing to keep track of. He quickly moved to stand in line behind the first guy. Sreko smirked, finding amusment in the shorter students words.

With his hands in his pockets, he leaned to the side so he could see how the machine worked. He looked towards Angelo. "So boss man, what will we have access to from day one?"

OnyxReaper OnyxReaper

As he got closer to the sewing machine, Keaton wondered if the thing was actually safe. Sure, it was magic or whatever, but that didn't mean it was okay to use. What was even the point of needing cards and tattoos to access things? Would they need to scan them like a barcode to go to the freakin' bathroom? That would be weird. And that's coming from the guy with fur-covered ears.

"I guess better late than never to enter the rebellion of teens with tattoos and piercings in weird places." Keaton huffed lightly at his own joke, shaking his head. He didn't mind if no one laughed with him. He thought he was hilarious, and he was the only one that really needed to.

Alex got side tracked by Keaton’s ears he stood up on the tips of his toes trying to reach up for Keaton’s ears to touch them. He looked like a girl with his slender frame, hair, and glasses. Even his voice was similar. “Mhm.....fluffy!” She muttered under his breath, blushing as he gently touched one, finally able to reach it when he jumped.
DevonWrites DevonWrites

Keaton's ear twitched in response and he turned towards the random touchy stranger with a light blush that he would later deny sporting and a toothy grin. "The fluffiest you'll find around here!" He happened to take great pride in his ears. He thought they were his best feature, though there were those that would strongly disagree...

Scarlett-Wulf Scarlett-Wulf

Alex quickly retracted his hands as his face turned bright red. “Sorry I don’t mean to without asking!” Alex misread Keaton’s facial expression. Taking his earbuds out he smiled “they are really cute....can I touch them again?” He asked curiously as he slowly reached up “I’m...Alex Snow, I’m a vampire, what are you? And who are you?”
DevonWrites DevonWrites

An icy chill ran up Keaton's spine when the other identified himself as a vampire. He was having trouble picking out specific scents, being surrounded by so many others of varied races. He tried not to let his cheerful expression falter, though he couldn't help a slight droop to his ears.

In an attempt to act natural, he leaned down to make it easier for the shorter male to reach. "I'm Keaton. Pleasure to meet you, Alex." He hoped that the exaggerated wink he threw in would distract from the fact that he hadn't mentioned his race.

Alex touched his ears for a moment longer then stopped to fix a strand of Keaton’s hair that he thought looked out of place. “It’s a pleasure to meet you as well, did you tear the card up too?” He asked as he kept his scarf up hiding half his face. “Me being a vampire doesn’t scare you does it? I know most humans and some races are, you seem nervous so just Relaxe I don’t bite!” He exclaimed and laughed happily
DevonWrites DevonWrites

Keaton huffed a short laugh, eyes showing genuine amusement and lips sttetching into a fanged grin. "The vampire doesn't bite! That is epic!" He shook his head, relaxing slightly. "I have nothing against vampires in general, just the ones that are..." He trailed off, unsure of how to complete that sentence without sounding offensive.

Alex looked up at him, seeming a bit puzzled he pulled his scarf down and leaned over sniffing Keaton’s shirt. “Unless you are into that sort of thing” winking at him as he ran his tongue over one of his fangs. Alex stopped teasing Keaton and sighed “go ahead and say it, I’ve probably heard worse things than what you wish to say, I’d be more mad if you didn’t speak freely with me”
DevonWrites DevonWrites

A discombobulated expression came over Keaton's face as he stared at the other. "... Say what, exactly...? Are you waiting for me to point out that you're kinda short? It seemed kinda rude, but if you really want me to make a big deal of it..."

((And yes, I was just looking for an excuse to say "discombobulated," thank you for noticing. XP ))
