The new house loomed; like a misplaced tombstone, if tombstones were three stories tall and the inscription read 'Last eighteen years of your life.'

Alright, that wasn't true. The house seemed nice. It seemed normal. That might be the problem—No, he definitely was the problem. Hadrian might have known about the move for a while now, but he was still feeling uneasy about the whole situation. There wasn't much that fazed him about staying in new places, but this was the first permanent move in his history. This wasn't like a mission; where he could fall back on a safe house, hunker down till the dust settled, and regroup for a second shot.

He noticed movement in one of the windows—probably one of Dr. Klein's two biological children. Dr. Klein motioned for the experiments to go ahead, but whoever was inside didn't seem to share in his welcoming sentiment. Not unexpected. I think very few people, would be enthusiastic about having six military experiments inviting themselves to move in. He'd spent enough time passing for ordinary to know that they weren't—and not just because of their powers.

Still, as Hadrian obligingly gathered his boxes from the trunk of the car, he wondered what exactly Dr. Klein had told them about the experiments. Hadrian, knew very little about the relationship between the Doctor and his children, but based on his own lifetime of experience, he suspected there might be a few gaps in the story. Whatever the case, he wasn't planning on filling in the details. It's not ideal to be living under the suspicion of others, but neither was it unfamiliar.

Hadrian slung his duffel bag over one shoulder and picked up a box filled the rest of his assorted belongings. He felt more wary about walking up to the porch than he should—like a part of him was expecting a trap, or waiting for someone to come out and insist they have the wrong house. Could experiments really live anywhere other than a lab? He knocked out of courtesy, waited a few moments before being forced to acknowledge it was a pointless effort. At least they left the door unlocked.

"We're coming in," he warned. Like it was necessary to treat your new housemates like potential threats who might not be expecting company.

Once inside the foyer, Hadrian did a quick assessment of the first floor. In doing so, he quickly realized that he liked the interior of the house. His own experience was largely split between two extremes; absolute extravagance and total discomfort. He didn't know what he was expecting to find, but this seemed to fall somewhere pleasantly in the middle. The lights were softer and the house smelled different than the lab; wood and paint, mingled with the natural smells of the forest let in by an open window. He noticed the slightest chemical taint to the air, surrounding the second door to the right of the main entrance. However, it was faint—nothing compared to the lemon-scented detergent that had seemed to radiate from every possible surface of the lab.

Satisfied with the initial impression, Hadrian quickly turned his attention to the next task. His main goal was to to a bedroom to place his belongings. He'd already looked over copy of the building's blueprints, so he had a decent idea of which rooms were available for use. Stairs to the left, up two flights, immediate right entrance....top floor with a front facing view, easy access to an alternative exit, and right next to the largest collection of books in the entire building. He'd memorized the layout a few days beforehand. He performed a brief check of the second floor on his way up, then continued to the largest bedroom on the third floor.

Nova...wasn't sure what to think of the house. She didn't even know what she was expecting. She can vaguely recall looking at blueprints of the house being shown to her but expecting her to actually remember what was on that paper, was like expecting a cat to sing a Mariah Carey song. It wasn't gonna happen.

Instead of heading straight for the house, she instead, circled the car looking at the surrounding forest and the road leading off of the property. It felt so weird being outside just for the fun of it. She wasn't sure if she enjoyed it, but now she wanted to see the inside of the house. She quickly headed to the trunk pulling out a rather small suitcase and dragging it to the main entrance. Hadrian already headed inside so it had to be okay, right? Once she was inside she made a quick switch from dragging the suitcase to picking it up with her psychokinesis. She knew better than to use her powers in the open, but since she was inside using it should hopefully be okay.

She first wandered around the first floor. Making her way through the hall and arriving at the kitchen. It looked cool to her as she went around peeking into the cabinets and fridge for maybe something to drink and snack on. She managed to find a bottle of water and then made her way up the stairs. She wanted to claim the biggest room so she had to make sure she didn't waste too much time. Now on the 2nd floor, she walked through the various rooms before choosing the room right by the stairs with the double doors. It was perfect and there seemed to be a balcony as well. Who wouldn't want this room?

The trip to the new residence had been rather uneventful. The feeling in the vehicle that Jake was in was very apprehensive to say the least. Which did not make him feel very confident about the whole transition. The life at the facility was all he ever knew, and now they were moving somewhere else. He was told there would be more freedom here, but he had his doubts. Especially since he was being forced to attend school.

When the car pulled into the driveway, Jake observed the house with an unimpressed look. He could hear a few of the others were impressed by it, most unsure. He was unsure. There was others in the house too, he could hear the whispers but couldn't make out the words. He noticed someone on the balcony of the third floor, that must have been the source. He watched as Hadrian took the first cautious steps towards the house, snickering when he knocked on the door. Of course no one would answer, it was for them. The next one out of the car was Nova, who entered the house with a little less caution.

Jake let out a sigh, grabbed his bag and opened the door. He slid out of the seat and stared up at the house, then around at the grounds. It seemed nice enough. Quiet. Quant. All those words someone would use to describe such an isolated place in some dumb town. Slinging the bag over his shoulder, Jake decided it was time to case the joint. He knew the layout only because Hadrian had been going over it all day in his head. He happened to be the best source for useful and relevant information. The front door of the house opened without him touching the knob, and he stepped inside. The first impression he got was on a large middle class home. Nothing over the top, but just enough. Before heading towards the bedrooms to claim one, Jake explored the main floor a little. Checking out the kitchen, very important, and the lounge areas. A very different scene from the last 'home.'

Next he made his way up the stairs, where he was greeted by two bedrooms at the top. A little ways down the hallway was another two. At random, Jake stepped into the left one, which was unoccupied. It would do. The bag landed with a thud when he placed it on the floor. He emptied the contents onto the floor, a change of clothes, some books, and some just-in-case popcorn.

After neatly putting away his belongings, Jake went back down stairs to the living room, where he sat and waited for the others to finish settling in.

Shiko & Himoko

Shiko hummed to herself happily, tapping her pointer fingertips against the steering wheel as they finally began to drive away from the facility, it'd taken months of planning and years of hard work, but at last she was going to be able to really get to know these children- to try and help them properly, without the experimental restraints put on both herself and them.

It was a few hours of driving before the entered the beautiful scenery of the seaside town, one that Shiko had taken a few short trips to in aid of preparation for the move. In her car just behind that of Klein's sat Molly, Alan and Himoko. The latter of which was fast asleep causing the motherly woman to chuckle a little whilst glancing in the rear view mirror as they arrived.

Getting out of the car she went around to the side opening the left-hand door for the small group with a warm smile spread from cheek to cheek. "We're here!~ Feel free to go take a look around guys, I'll be there with Klein shortly." she stated as she stretched her arms and back, still cramped from the car ride. Going over to the other side she gently shook the sleeping Himoko, "Hey girly, time to get up, we've arrived silly~" she let out in an overly chipper voice.

Slowly the white haired girl blinked her eyes open, eagerly jumping awake with a wide eyed and eager smile, "Really!?" she let out excitedly, Shiko nodded and stepped out of the way, beginning to walk over to the Doc letting the young-hearted girl jump out of the car and look around in awe, "It's-.... so pretty!" she stated in at first a quiet whisper getting more high pitched on the final word.

She raised hands in small fists just under her chin and closed her eyes taking a deep breath to calm her nerves a little, nodding to herself, "Be cool, you got this Himoko." she muttered to herself, lowering her hands and walking over to the back of the car, getting out her small backpack and rushing over to the large house's door, peeking in she spotted Nova and her floating bag going up the stairs, not sure what to do in the large place, having totally dazed off whilst they were looking at the blueprints, she ran after the other, half tripping, half jumping up the final step, barely managing to catch herself before stumbling into the back of the other female.

"I- uh, s-sorry?~" she let out with an awkward giggle, rubbing the back of her head and brushing off her white baggy button up top and blue skirt. Looking around the huge room she spotted what the other had probably least wanted, a second bed. Immediately her eyes lit up, "We can.... be room buddies!" she let out eagerly, a little shy but mostly eager, she'd never been roomed with someone else before at the facility- something about Himoka being too much of a danger, but this, this was her chance!

Going over to the single bed on the right side of the room she placed her bag down before sitting down with a flop, letting out a nervous look to the other with a small smile, "If-If that's okay that is?...." she continued timidly, an innocent, puppy-eyed look on her face.

Nova smiled at the room and went to put her things down, however, before she could do that she stumbled forward from someone running into her from behind. After saving herself from hitting the ground face first she turned to the culprit with a rather annoyed expression. When she saw it was Himoko the annoyed expression was quickly replaced with a happy smile.

She gave a nod of forgiveness before placing her hand on her hip and waved her finger around, mimicking the motion of a mother scolding a child, wanting her to be more careful next time. With that all out the way she successfully put her bag down before hearing the other girls proposition. Nova thought about it for a moment as she wasn't planning on sharing with anyone, however, Himoko was already getting settled into the room. It also didn't help that it seemed like she would cry if she said no. So what else could she do.

Nova rubbed her head a bit awkwardly but gave, a rather hesitant, nod to her followed by a thumbs up. How bad could could having a roommate be? It's a big room anyway so it hopefully shouldn't be a problem. Nova happily ran over to the left side of the room before hopping into the bed and laying face down in it. Not quite the outcome she expected, but she never had problems with Himoko. So hopefully it'll stay like that.

Molly's stoic expression remained on her face as they approached their new 'home'. Was this it? We left the lab for this? She thought to herself. The location was defensible enough. But it was also a double edged sword. It kept them away from prying eyes, but someone who was intent on watching them had ample cover to do it stealthily. Luckily, Jake was there to keep an ear out for any potential intruders. Molly sighed as the car parked and everyone piled out of the vehicle. The girl got out of the car with her backpack and began to walk towards the house, her gaze sweeping from side to side. It seemed secure...for now.

Walking into the house, Molly immediately walked toward the stairs where it seems the rest of her 'family' was going. She had read and memorized every single inch of the blueprint when Dr. Klein had showed them back at the lab. The girl scowled as she passed by Himoko's and Nova's room. The two girls always agitated her with how optimistic they were with the world. The world was not all rainbows and butterflies. There was death and destruction too. They had all seen what the world was truly like.

Reaching the top floor, she would turn to take the largest room on the floor, but stopping in the doorway as she spots her brother there already with his bag on the bed. "This is my room," she says unamused. "I thought we agreed that this was to be my room. If you truly want to argue again, then I challenge you to a sparring match in the backyard. Winner gets this room." The girl sets her bag on the ground inside the door with a stoic expression with slight hints of anger.

Alan

Alan was one of the last ones to leave the car, extremely skeptical about this whole thing. Through the trip, all he'd been doing is keeping an eye on his surroundings and trying to hold back his nervous jitters. There's too much open space, was his only thought as he slowly crept into the house. He tried to ignore everything else and swiftly made his way upstairs. He'd already decided which room he wanted. 1st floor would be vulnerable to ground raids, top floor was susceptible to aerial attacks, so the 2nd floor it was. Personally, he would've preferred a room with no windows, but that wasn't an option, so he went with the room in the corner.

Alan entered his room with a sort of grandiose gesture, not bothering to close the door behind him. The room was much larger than what he permitted at the lab, which he was rather discomfited by. The closet space was nice too, he supposed, though he wouldn't be using it much. However, there was one thing he was truly happy with, the bed. A bed with sheets, a set of plush pillows, and an actual mattress. No cold, hard steel table, no paper thin blankets, no lumpy bundle of cloth that he'd call a pillow. He still suspects that this whole move is a ploy to get into his head, but it's all worth it in his opinion, to get one good night's sleep.

Almost like a child, he flopped onto the bed, humming contently at its softness. For the first time in a long time, Alan let his age show. He was excited and comfortable, he wanted to jump on the bed or sleep in it for hours snuggled up in the blankets. But a part of him denied him that. I'm still a weapon, he reminded himself. This, this won't last long. And when it is taken away, I can't be caught off guard. Don't get to comfortable. With that, he got up from his bed, and began, almost mechanically, unpacking his bags.

Himoko's face continued in that sad puppy fashion until the other responded with a hesitant nod, she noted the girl didn't seem as eager as herself, but even just having her agree felt great! Jumping up and down a little once off the bed in excitement she ran over to wrap the other in a hug, "Really!?" she let out in a high pitched eep, "Thank you!" she continued.

Briefly her attention was caught by Alan walking past, tilting her head curiously at how nervous he seemed she absentmindedly walked away from Nova and instead peeked her head around the corner, arms held behind back in as she blinked a few times. Going over to the boys room she knocked gently before letting herself in, giggling as she spotted him unpacking in a robotic manner.

"Heya!~ Whatcha' doin?" she mused innocently walking in and looking around still awe-inspired wide eyes, "Wow! Your room's really pretty too! Isn't this place sooooo cool!~" She continued, turning in a circle on her heel before smirking at him, trying her best in her own unique way to cheer the other worried teen up. After all she liked Alan, they talked at the facility sometimes, and even though he seemed kinda shy, she thought he needed to trust things more, he always seemed so skittish! even around Shiko and Klein.

Shiko watched Klein struggle to lock the cars door with his keys for a few moments, about to offer to help if it was needed, before he managed the task and turned towards her. That same practiced smile carried in his eyes, but his face.... that let on more than what he meant to. The mention of his tremours let her give but a simple, spaced-out nod of her head before she snapped out of it and shook her head, smile returning to her face as she too chuckled. "Ah yes, I suppose it is, isn't it?...." she muttered, looking over at the house with a warmth and yet certain sorrow in her eyes, "almost..." she whispered under her breath before walking forwards and signalling the doc come along, "Now then. We are best to follow are we not? Don't want anyone destroying the house the moment we get here, nor do we want to scare our two guests." she continued, winking at the part about 'guests' obviously referring to Klein's children.

As Nova laid there she probably would've drifted to sleep if not for the sound of footsteps quickly approaching her side of the room. She glanced up to see what the noise was before getting pulled into a hug. She wiggled around a bit in the girl's arms, so she could face her, before happily hugging her back with a smile. It made her happy to see that she was happy to just be rooming up together. A good deed is a good deed, right?

After a moment she just kinda laid there waiting for Himoko to finish up while staring up at the ceiling. When she did get off of her, she was a bit confused about where she was going. She didn't notice Alan walk by them but decided to follow Himoko regardless. So around the corner and to the room in the back they went. Still confused about what she was doing but that didn't matter at this point. When Nova peeked into the room shortly after the younger girl let herself in. And at that point, everyting made sense.

Seeing Alan acting like his usual stiff self made her smile. It's cool to see that somethings will never change. She gave a happy wave to the boy before stepping in and closing the door behind her. She wandered around the room, mentally comparing it to the one she occupies now.

The house had gotten louder as more of the teens filled it. Each going to a room to claim as their own. Their thoughts all filled Jake's head like conversations in a crowded space. From his spot on the soft couch he could tell that on the top floor Hadiran and Molly were about to have some battle for a large room. There was two new voices up there as well. From what he heard they were from the Doctors own children. The boy lingered on them for a moment out of curiosity, then moved down a flood. Nova and Himoko were sharing the big room on the end, Oh good, I have to share the bathroom with them. He thought to himself. Alan had gone to the room next to his own, but was very uncertain about the whole thing. The last two to enter the house were Shiko and the Doctor himself. Both hands raised to his head and ran through his hair as he absentmindedly stared at the ceiling.

Jake heaved himself off the couch, knocking off a few pillows as he did. His green gaze landed on the kitchen, which he hoped would be fully stocked. Each foot step he took to the kitchen echoed like it was still very empty, yet there was so much chatter. It was something he had gotten used to, silence had never been something he knew. Jake stopped in front of the fridge and opened the door. "What kind of snacks did they give us to eat?" He wondered out loud while searching the fridge.

Before he could react, Himoko had already entered his room, causing him to tense just a little. It's not that he didn't like her, in fact he'd say she was one of his favorite people, but he just wasn't used to any of this yet. Back in the lab, Alan was usually left in his room for long extended periods of time, where the only contact he got were from the scientists. Of course, he was let out sometimes, those were the times he remembers most after all. But no one was allowed to step into his room. Now that he lives in this large shared house, going into each other's rooms was bound to be a regular occurrence.

With some effort, Alan relaxed himself. "I'm unpacking," He responded. "It's nice, I guess. I still want to know why we're all here though." Dr. Klein had told them that they would go to school and live in the real world, but he still wasn't sure if those statements were true. Why would I go to school? Sure, the laboratory didn't exactly have the best education, but it has to be better than some 50 year old government mandated system. He learned directly from some of the best researchers in the world, that had to be better than some stuffy classroom. And life here? What is with that? Dr. Klein has to have some sort of plan for all of this. Right?

When Nova entered his room, his instincts took over again. Stiffening slightly, but he still tried to wave back to her in a normal, less awkward way. "Are you guys hungry at all? I'm thinking of going down to the kitchen." He asked, hoping to direct the two girls out of his room and into the kitchen. Well, that and he was actually a little hungry himself.

After opening every cupboard in the kitchen, along with the fridge and freezer, Jake could only describe what he found with one word. Disappointment. Someone else's leftover juice and milk, a few cereal boxes. Not nearly enough to feed a house full of teenagers. The most disappointing part of it all was the lack of popcorn. There wasn't even a machine to make it. The cereal would have to do. The box fluttered out of the cupboard like it was caught on a gentle breeze. It landed in Jake's hands, who was leaning against the counter.
The doctor's presence was know to him before he rounded the corner. Jake could never be sure how to react to the man. His mind was always a bit of a mess if he ever looked to hard. It wasn't that he disrespected the man, just that he couldn't be sure what would happen next. The box was flipped open, the bag crinkling as his hand went in to grab a handful of it's contents. "Mhmm." He hummed with a mouthful of cereal, watching as the man went through the sad fridge. When the other turned and looked at Jake, with a certain look in his eyes, he tensed.
"No." No matter what the request was, Jake said that before the man could even finish saying it. Just an outright defiant no. Partly because he didn't want to agree to what this man wanted, but also he wasn't fully prepared to go somewhere public. There must be some ulterior motive for sending them out. Especially since he kept pushing the idea.
If he were to go out, he would likely take whoever descended the stairs first. Only if he decided to agree to the doctors suggestion. The bribe with popcorn was just not fair, but it got Jake's attention. "Alright, I'll do it. For the popcorn." Sneaky bastard. After grabbing another handful of the cereal, he put the box down on the counter. "All for the research, right?" He muttered while stepping past the older man. Crunching on the cereal as he walked towards the stairs and waited for someone to walk down them.

Himoko smiled at Alan before noting Nova walk into the room, cheerfully turning around and grabbing the girls hand to hold, "Okay then, let's go!~" she cheered as he mentioned getting something to eat, she hadn't noted till now but she was actually kinda hungry, maybe it was the nerves? Bending over and grabbing Alan's hand too she lead the trio towards and down the stairs cheerfully humming. However briefly she muttered something along the lines of 'this is stupid' with a very different looking expression, before snapping back to her usual smile.

Shiko waited for Klein in the house, making a mental note of him putting the bags there, and knowing she'd eventually need to remind him to take them up to his room. She took a moment to admire the old architecture of the house, it was- beautiful, even though she'd seen it before, the perfect family home for all of them. She half bumped into the Doctor however in her absent minded following as they arrived at the Kitchen and he spotted Jake, she let out a small 'eep' of a startle before chuckling and awkwardly rubbing the back of her head.

She watched the two scavenge the fridge, giggling once more at the chocolate pudding's note. But after a moment sighed, opening her mouth to suggest they go shopping- right before Klein said it. Somehow the realization hit her of this being the kids first time ever really going out into the 'normal' world and her heart began to flutter with joy.

Just then she caught the sound of footsteps behind her and spotted Himoko leading the small group downstairs and into the kitchen area. Turning around she gave a wide grin, "Guess what guys?~ We're going shopping! anyone wanna come? you can all get your favorite treats~" she let out in a sing-song manner. Himoko's face lit up, "Candy!~" she called out loudly, letting go of the others hands to throw hers in the air, "I wanna go please! Can Nova and Alan come too?" she asked in an overly excited expression.

Hadrian looked up in mild surprise, from where he had been crouched over a cardboard box; sorting through the contents with sullen expression. "Are you serio"stupid question, Molly was always serious "I did not agree to that."

Molly had a preference for solving problems with force—something that occasionally proved to be a point of contention between the twins. On the field, violence was a last resort. In the lab, it would have been a perfectly normal response to roll his eyes, accept the offer, and then spend the next few minutes locked into a spar where cunning took precedence over punches.

Given the new circumstances, Hadrian wanted to suggest a non-violent approach, maybe even refuse the demand entirely. Their success in this town depended on maintaining the appearance of normal teenagers. Normal teenagers squabbled and fought all the time, but they didn't settle disputes with Krav Maga or super powers usually limited to the big screen. Moving out into the 'real world,' offered them the type of lifestyle that up until then had been dismissed as impossible—less likely than the ongoing wars finding peaceful resolution—but he wondered how long it would take the others to recognize that those freedoms came at cost. If pretending to be something your not could be considered freedom at all.

But, Hadrian knew his sister and not only could he see her anger, he could practically feel the restless energy that demanded some kind of outlet—and demanded it now. He grimaced, not really surprised with this, given how many hours they'd just spent trapped in the recent car ride. The probability of her responding well to anything that didn't meet the requirements of a physical resolution was low.

Hadrian's expression was thoughtful as he examined their surroundings. The floor was bare carpet, the large dresser was empty, and neither the bed or desk took much space from where they were pushed up against the far wall......"Dr. Klein, want's us to keep a low profile." It wasn't a direct order, but Hadrian would respect his request regardless." Sparring outside is off limits, but if you want to settle this and think you can move me from this room by force—I accept the challenge. Hand to hand only, no interfering forces, and the winner is last person remaining in the room, or it defaults to whoever doesn't bail."

Nova wasn't too sure what was happening at the moment her mind was more focused on the look at the room more than what the others were talking about, however, when the mention of good came up. Nova couldn't help but turn around and smile at the idea. Food was a great idea!

She swayed in a happy manner before being taken by the hand and pulled along to the first floor of the House and back towards the kitchen. All while trying to not lose balance and fall over. When they finally arrived at the kitchen Doctor Klein and Miss Shiko were already down there. Nova gave and wave and a smile to the both of them. She wondered if everyone already came in and claimed rooms. Was there enough for them?

That question would go unanswered as a shopping trip was brought up. She nodded enthusiastically to the invitation to head out, wanting to see all the many goodies they could find there. She also wanted to get some food herself and maybe even try something new?

"Fine, I'll still beat you whether we use powers or not," She replies before rushing at him from the doorway. She reared back to throw a punch as she hopes that her sudden attack will catch him off guard. Unfortunately, as she took her first few steps, her brother ducked down into a crouch. Molly attempted to adjust her punch angle, but it was weak due to the change in angle and he easily blocked it with his forearm. After the successful block, he just ended up rolling out of her way. Upon getting back into his crouching stance, he suddenly threw an uppercut. Molly was unprepared for it and it hit her square in the jaw. She was going to feel that afterwards. She stumbles back in shock and pain before rubbing at her jaw. "You're gonna pay for that," she said before running at him again and jumping. Through her rage though, she did not see that he was grasping onto a blanket on the bed. in the middle of her arc, he held up the blanket and wrapped her tightly in it.

"let me go!" She exclaims and attempts to struggle free of her bindings before Hadrian threw her over his shoulder and walked through the doorway with him. "No!" She struggles more. Molly had lost.

Hadrian didn't expect Molly to start the fight off with a punch―he rolled, but only narrowly avoided being clipped in the side of the head. Shit, forgot she's faster than the golems.

At the same time as he was pushing himself into a standing position, Molly threw another punch. Hadrian was more prepared for second attack, and raised his left arm to prevent the punch from connecting. From this position, he spotted an opening in her defense, and took the opportunity to deliver an uppercut punch to her solar plexus.

Molly jumped at him, forcing Hadrian to step back or let her tackle him. He felt the edge of the bed dig into the back of his leg. In a flash of inspiration, he grabbed the corner of the sheet, felt it give under the force―and threw it in his sister's direction.

The makeshift trap worked! With Molly safely neutralized by the bed sheet, Hadrian quickly scooped her up. He carried her over one shoulder, careful not to accidentally let her bump into the door frame as moved her outside the room, as per the conditions of their match.

Molly was angry of course, there was nothing surprising there. All in all though, it was vaguely amusing to see his sister turned from deadly assailant to something that resembled an angry kitty burrito. He felt the corners of his lips twitch in his first genuine smile since they began the moving process, "Alright Molly Burrito, where do you want to be delivered?"

1580788530158.png

It was unusual for him to be caught off guard, but at least Hadrian managed to suppress any immediate defensive reactions, in response to the sudden appearance of a very familiar looking stranger.
Amelia Klein, looked similar enough to be immediately recognized as the Doctor's daughter, but unfamiliar enough that it was....uncanny, to see the family resemblance in person.

This wasn't a mission, but it felt like he'd been caught trespassing on private property. It took more effort than Hadrian expected to keep the wariness from creeping into his frame, but he forced his stance to remain relaxed, despite the excess of adrenaline still running in his veins.

"That sounds like it's worth checking out." He put Molly back on her feet, hoping that freedom from restraint and the promise of another, possibly better bedroom might temper her current anger.

His guarded expression turned thoughtful, as he contemplated the sudden change of heart. It was certainly an unexpected to have one of the Klein twins decide to help them settle in, based on their earlier avoidance during the arrival. Whatever the reasoning behind it, she seemed honest enough in her intentions. A little tense maybe, but so was almost everyone else in the house.

When he next spoke, his words were careful but genuine. "Amelia, right?......Thanks."

Molly's face burned with a red tint as she stared angrily at her brother. She wanted to call him a cheater, but knew that they had not set down any ground rules for rules of engagement. The girl clenched her fists and closed her eyes as she forced herself to take slow, deep breaths to calm herself down. "That room will...suffice," she eventually said to Amelia and her brother. Molly stepped past her brother and into the room to grab her bag before turning swiftly on her feet and stomping towards the free bedroom with the other two behind her.

"I'm sure the doctor has something planned for us all to do something together, but I will not be going. I will be in the back yard practicing," Molly stated idly to the two behind her. Stepping into her new room, she tossed her bag onto the bed and sat next to it. So this was the real world? How was she going to adjust to normal life after being in that facility for her entire life. Most adults hadn't even seen as much as her and her family had. Molly sighs.

From his place near the door, leaning against the wall, Jake noticed that Nova, Alan, and Himoko had landed on the main floor. The sight of them brought a small smile to his lips, their timing couldn't have been more perfect. Leaning forward slightly, he bounced off the wall to stand back up with crossed arms. While he walked towards them, their back turned to him, he opened his arms slightly to drape them over the shoulders of Alan and Nova. Now the smile had become a grin as he looked over the three of them. Welcome to the kitchen. These words echoed loud enough for everyone on the main floor to hear, yet he hadn't actually spoken. It always seemed more fun to use his telepathy to communicate. Briefly his green-blue eyes landed on Shiko, and greeted the woman in the same manner. Hello Shiko, will you be joining us? The words were directed to her, but echoed to everyone else as well.

It did make sense for them all to go out and explore the town they now all call home. The only person missing from the little group on the main level was the oldest of them all. The only one that Jake would trust enough to take orders from. Tilting his head, he looked up at the ceiling, the grin still on his face as he transmitted the next thing he said to everyone in the house. This included the twins, whom he just wanted to spook. There wasn't anything weirder than hearing a voice speak, but not actually hearing it. Jake's grin just widened as his words echoed throughout the minds of everyone. With no regard for any of the consequences.
I believe the good doctor here would like us to go grocery shopping. Who's coming?
He paused a moment afterwards to listen to the reactions upstairs, his gaze moving to the doctor. It was a slight defiant look, but really he did it to see what might happen. His arms dropped off the shoulders of Nova and Alan, then took a half step back. Now he was ready to leave, once everyone who was going showed up.

As Nova began to ponder what it is that she even wanted to look for at the store she then wondered what was even in a store. Sure there were the expected groceries and stuff like that, but did stores have other things? Before she could get deeper into this thought she was startled by someone suddenly holding onto her shoulder. She quickly looked up and that fright on her face quickly became a smile as she stared up at Jake. She gave a small nod of thanks as she and the others were welcomed to the kitchen.

She always liked how Jake could still talk to people without having to speak. It always felt like she could relate to him on that level. As one who rarely uses her words to communicate as well. Her face beamed with excitement at all the things she might be able to see. She wanted to get something like a pizza or some kinds sweets.
