ROLES.
ALDERIDGE FAMILY.
THE HAS-BEEN ELDEST SISTER. Being the eldest of the Alderidge family basically means you carry the weight of the name on your shoulders. Naturally the family has the highest of expectations on you. You did everything to level those expectations; you topped your classes and extra curricular, you have a strong presence in your school, you attended groups and events that puts you out there, and gave your father something to be proud of. Everyone adored you, looked up to you and you very well knew it. You live off it every time. But that was many years ago. You haven't gained that much success the moment you left your small town. There was a lot more pressure and competition. Maybe along the way you had an epiphany, or maybe you just kept failing and made you the person you are now. You probably ended up working as a desk job employee at some lesser known firm in the city. Life has been dull to say the least. -Taken by Polka Dot
THE ECCENTRIC OLDER MIDDLE SIBLING. You always had a different, unconventional perspective compared to the rest of the family. Your father saw that early on in your youth; heavily influenced by culture, beliefs and politics that leans far off from your family's conservative upbringing. He probably saw you as a failure, always pitted against and compared to your perfect older sibling. But you're smart enough to realize that in the grandest scheme of things, they are not as crucially essential as your father led you to believe. You always lived your life the way you wanted, without any restrictions whatsoever, and you loved every minute of it. That's why it seemed like you're either the most carefree, and stress free among your siblings before and even at present.
THE DARK HORSE YOUNGER MIDDLE SIBLING. You had a severe case of the middle child syndrome. That is to say that pretty much all your life you've only blended in the background, always under estimated, and just generally ignored. You never really stood out, even if you did try, always being outshined by others in your family or at school . But the irony of it is, you're the most naturally gifted of them all. You had so much to show but you felt there are things that held you back, maybe your own shyness for that matter, or insecurity. But people one day saw and realize your worth after you left town. You became the most successful among your siblings, when everyone least expected it. You may have every right to flaunt your success and self earned wealth, as you have been modest long enough already.
THE LEVEL HEADED YOUNGEST SIBLING. When you first came into the family after being adopted, you vividly recall your first day. Everyone was welcoming, there were a lot of people, cameras everywhere. You were too young to understand but you knew it has something to do with you becoming a part of the family. It wasn't like that when people left you alone. Your father was much colder, and your older siblings less refined and always fought for probably the pettiest of reasons. It was chaotic but generally you felt welcomed still. Your siblings always rely on you to back you up, but you've always remained neutral. You're mature that way, despite being the youngest. But most of all you're the middle ground that kept them grounded when things became out of order. That's because in times of need, you're not afraid to call them out and take matters into your own hands. Right now, even if they don't acknowledge it, you still held that power over them.
OTHER CASTS.
The BFF -You're one of those people who knew the Alderidge family inside and out. You're best friends with one of the siblings, and you know the level of intimacy or the lack thereof within the Alderidge household, and you're privy to some deep secrets held inside the their hearts. You may have held close contact with them through the years or at some point lost that connection as you grew older.
The Neighbor's kid- You're relationship with the Alderidges is mostly due to obligation rather than anything. You're parents weren't exactly close friends with them, but would open up that opportunity every chance they get. They would invite each other over for dinner, or any type of get together, that's why you became well acquainted with the family.
The Highschool Sweetheart- You're a former lover of one of the Alderidge kids. You've gone through some changes with your partner, in their awkward years, holding their hands during turbulent moments, shared laughter in dark times and through the course of time that very fact elevated their trust in you. It's sad but the only way they felt genuine affection is with you. At some point the relationship fell apart, and eventually things ended. It has been awhile since you've heard from your former lover.
The Caretaker- You've worked for the Alderidge's for the past 2-3 years. You don't exactly dream of working there to be honest, but between your studying and rent you needed to have that extra allowance just to get through the day. Other than Alderidge senior, you don't personally know anyone else in the family, though you've seen their old pictures displayed around the house a couple of times. In his last years you kept him company, even for just a few hours a day. You listen to his stories about his life, success and most commonly his children. You're not exactly sure but the more he talked about them the more he seemed remorseful, melancholic. After his death you remained as caretaker until the next week, just until you complete your pay.
The Distant Cousin - you're a familliar face to the Alderidges, as first impressions go yours of them weren't much different from the rest of the town but one faithful 4th of July, you came over to realize that there's more than meets the eye to this complex and sometimes strange household. It seems the strangeness runs in the Alderidge family tree as you've come to relate to the kids' struggles. Ever since then your family has came over for some monthly visits and though still distant from their deepest secrets, you've held enough of their trust to know them better than the average neighbor, perhaps a passive acquaintance of sorts though still counting as a friend. Lately you've been itching to reconnect having known of recent developments.
